Liviya's POV

Aragorn scoured ahead of our company, as we stumbled on in the fading light...in the distance the shimmer of a large forest could be seen...Lothlorien! "Isn't that where our cousin Galadriel lives?" Vuki asked, I nodded. We ran across a forest floor strewn with yellow flowers..above

was a roof of golden leaves, held up by silver pillars...the trunks of huge, grey trees. Gimli looked nervously around... "Stay close, young hobbits..they say a Sorceress lives in these woods. An elf- witch of terrible power. All who look upon her fall under her spell..." Gimli warned, Vuki smirked and added. "If you fall under her spell, you never leave these forest."

Frodo hesitated...a STRANGE VOICE whispered in my head... "Liviya…" I heard them say. "…your coming to us is as the footsteps of doom. You bring great evil here, daughter of the great eye." "Well, here's one dwarf she won't ensnare so easily. I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox!" Gimli said confidently. Then we were suddenly surrounded by armed elves. Deadly arrows aimed at their

heads. Haldir, the Elvish captain stepped forward... he looked at Gimli with disdain.

"The dwarf breathes so loud we could have shot him in the dark." He said, he looked at me. "Who is your blind companion? Why does she not have a guide?" "My sister is not blind," my brother said, keeping out of reach of a sword. "She merely has visions when she sees the world, this distresses her, so she wears a blindfold." "Haldir of Lorien, we come here for your help. We need your protection." Aragorn said in elvish. "Aragorn! These woods are perilous. We should go back." Gimli told Aragorn, my brother laughed. "My kin are not dangerous, unless you wish to cause them harm, come Gimli."

"Your kin?" Haldir asked skeptically, I nodded. "Galadriel is our cousin, first cousin once removed." "You'd have to be over 6000 years old." "Yep," Vuki said calmly. "Just take us to her, she might recognize my sister." "Indeed? Come, she is waiting."

Haldir led us onto a Hill Top. We looked

with wonderment at the vista spread before us. Several miles towards the South, a Large Hill rose out of the woods. Upon the hill rose many mighty Mallorn Trees, taller than any others...Nestled high in the crown of the mallorns was a Beautiful City. It Gleamed in the low rays of the late afternoon sun..green, gold, and silver. To the east of Caras Galadhon, the Woods of Lorien ran down the pale gleam of Anduin, the great river. Beyond the River, the land appeared flat and empty, formless and vague, until far away, it rose again like a dark and dreary wall. The Sun that lay on Lothlorien had not power to enlighten the shadows that lie beyond.

We stepped onto a wide fleet filled with a soft light. The walls were green and silver, the roof gold and in its midst was the trunk of the might Mallorn tree, now tapering toward its crown. Celeborn stepped forward to greet us. His hair was long and silver, his face grave and beautiful, with no sign of age upon it. Next to him stood Galadriel, the Lady of the Elves. She had hair of deep gold and timeless, unsurpassed beauty. Celeborn looks hard at Aragorn... ten there are, yet eleven there were set out from Rivendell.

Tell me, where is Gandalf, for I much desire to speak with him." Frodo looked at Galadriel, standing silently beside Celeborn. "...he has fallen into shadow." Galadriel whispered, she looked to Aragorn. "The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little

and it will fail, to the ruin of all...Yet hope remains while the company is true."Galadriel's eyes settled on Sam.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Go now and rest for you are weary with sorrow and much toil." Galadriel's eyes turned to Me...her voice faded . "Tonight you will sleep in peace." Then in my head she whispered. 'if you desire to leave, I can arrange for you to be forgiven by Manwë.' 'I cannot leave them,' I thought to her. 'They are my family, I would be worthless if I did so.' She smiled gently at me. Later Gimli, Legolas, Merry, Pippin, Vuki, Frodo, Sam, and I were in a pavilion set among the trees near the fountain. We lay on soft couches as Elves left food and wine for us. Mournful singing drifted down from the trees above. "A lament for Gandalf..." Legolas said sadly.

"What do they say about him?" Merry asked him. "I have not the heart to tell you. For me, the grief is still

too near." Legolas responded, Boromir was sitting alone...Aragorn approached him. "Take some rest..these borders are well protected." He said gently, Moonlight caught the trace of tears on Boromir's face. Aragorn knelt down beside him. "I will find no rest here. I heard her voice inside my head...she spoke of my father and the fall of Gondor, and she said to me: "Even now, there is hope left. But I cannot see it...it is long since we had any hope." Boromir looked at Aragorn in despair.

"My father is a noble man, but his rule is failing and our..our people lose faith. He looks to me to make things right...and I would do it, I would see the glory of Gondor restored. Have you ever seen it, Aragorn? The White Tower of Ecthelion, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, its banners caught high in the morning breeze...have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumpets?" "I have seen the white city..long ago." Aragorn said softly. "One day our paths will lead us there, and the tower guards shall take up the call "the Lords of Gondor have returned." " Boromir said, sounding happy again.

I took out my harp, Boromir looked at me and said. "What are you doing?" "Singing," I responded. "We all need sleep, and a quiet song would help greatly. Songs have done much more and much less then this so music shall serve this purpose." My brother smiled and asked. "Can you sing that song about the night and dreams?"

I smiled and sang this song:

"The shadows are waltzing

The moonbeams are calling

Like a dream I am falling into

Silver threads lined with dew

Twinkling stars seem to shine just for

You

"So sleep

Fall into night's indigo hue

Believe me, it's true

There is nothing that I would not do

For my dream is, sweet dreams for

You

"It seems far away

But there once was a day

It was grey in a world without you

To this heart like a dove from above

The miracle of your love found me

"So sleep

Fall into night's indigo hue

Believe me it's true

There's nothing that I would not do

For my dream is, sweet dreams for

You

"Yes, sleep

Lose yourself in night's indigo hue

Believe me, it's true

There's nothing that I would not do

For my dream is sweet dreams

Yes my dream is sweet dreams for

you"

All were asleep now except Gimli. "that's a good song lass," he said. "Where did you learn it?" "From Elrond," I told him. "Gandalf left me with him often. Now I would like some peaceful rest, good night Gimli." I rolled over and pulled my cloak over me… then I began to dream.

the dream*

I was in a sort of office chamber. It was dark, and there was a strange man at a desk. He stood and turned to face me… it was Sauron. His face brightened when he saw me. "Ah, my sweet one!" He said and started towards me. "Don't come any closer!" I cried in fear, he stopped and frowned. "Don't you know who I am? I'm your father." He said gently, I backed against the wall. "It's alright my sweet one," he added. "I can talk to you more now, in the daytime… you've been around the ring long enough."

"I don't want to talk to you." I stammered out in fear, he smiled. "But I want to talk to you, and I will." He took a step closer and peered at me. "My, how you've grown!" He said delightedly. "The last time I saw you, you were only as big as a year old elfling. So tiny and helpless. I helped your mother care for you, you know. I do care about you." "More likely you care about what plans you have involving me!" I snapped quietly.

He frowned again and stared deep into my eyes, I shook a little. "I loved you and your mother more than you can imagine." He said quietly. "I didn't plan to have a child, but I loved you. I still do, even though you're trying to kill me. You are probably just going through a rebellious phase, and will get over it swiftly." His eyes softened slightly and he continued. "Though perhaps I shall teach that halfling a lesson for keeping my ring." "No!" I cried and took a step forward, Sauron looked at me. "You don't wish me to harm him? Why?" "Because he didn't do anything wrong!" I said a bit louder.

"He kept my ring," Sauron said as his eyes bored into mine. "Which is very wrong." "He didn't know!" I gasped in desperation. "If that is true, I won't hurt him… or any halflings." Sauron said and I let my eyes move away from his. "You should know," he added as I looked away. "I'm sending some orcs after you and your… companions. They have orders not to harm any of you, once they catch you all so I advise you to go along with your escort like a good girl." light started to flood the room. "Ah," Sauron said as he noticed. "You are awakening. I will speak to you more in the morning. If you wish to respond, just think of your answer and I'll hear it." Then I awoke
