Chapter 5: Chocolate Fondant

"Well, now that's done." Scarlett let out a sigh as she closed her laptop. She and Chris just finished the zoom stream. It had lasted for over half an hour where they made the announcement and where they recalled some of their favorite moments on and off screen. At some points, Robert and Chris (Hemsworth) made some implied comments and jokes about her and Chris' behavior on set. The two have tried not to react because they didn't want people to believe they were a thing when they weren't.

"Yeah," Chris said, raising from the chair and taking it back to the kitchen. He heard his phone ring a couple of times. "I should probably turn it off for the night." He told her, picking it up from the couch and seeing all of the notifications he was already getting. He quickly scanned through them seeing fans cheer up at the news of the upcoming movie while others were already posting screenshots of him and Scarlett. "Mark was right, fans are going wild."

Scarlett brought her own chair back to the kitchen and walked back to remove her laptop from the bookshelf. She placed the books by in their places and set her computer on the coffee table. "You know, you could just turn off your Instagram notifications." She suggested and walked over to him.

"You can do that?" He asked with surprise, making Scarlett roll her eyes and laugh. She held out her hand and he gave her his phone. She went on his Instagram application and showed him how to turn off the notifications directly from it. "Ahh," He nodded, trying to memorize what she did so he would be able to do reverse it on his own later on. "Thanks."

"You should probably do that with Twitter, too." She gave him a small smile and walked to the kitchen to prepare dinner. "What do you feel like eating?" She asked, looking through the fridge.

Chris succeeded on turning off the notifications of Twitter on his own, he did a little cheering dance before frowning. He set his phone on the kitchen table and looked at Scarlett with suspicious eyes. "How did you even know how to? You don't even have any social medias."

She took out some ingredients to make desert for them and turned around with wiggling eyebrows. "Not officially, I don't." She shrugged off and started making a small batch to bake two small chocolate fondant.

"You have secret accounts and you didn't tell me?" He gasped as he watched her bake.

"So what?" She laughed, breaking the eggs and letting them flow inside of the bowl. "If I were to follow you or anyone else who's famous, people would know about it and I wouldn't have any privacy."

Chris took out some tomatoes from the fridge and started cutting them on a chopping board before setting them in a salad bowl. "What do you post on it?" He curiously asked as he chopped some salad.

"Almost nothing. I'm too scared of getting hacked and having private pictures leaked." She replied, picking up the bowl with the batch and separating it inside two small recipients. She then put them inside of the oven and set the timer.

Chris smiled at her and grabbed the chicken escalope pack from the fridge. He marinated them before cooking them. Meanwhile, Scarlett set the table up and checked once in awhile on the chocolate fondants. As they got everything ready for diner, they paraded around the small kitchen area and sometimes they would bump into each other. When that happened, they would chuckle like teenagers.

Once everything was cooked, they sat at the table and began eating. "While we're here maybe we should rehearse our upcoming scenes for the movie, what do you think?" Chris suggested, taking a bit of his chicken.

"Which scenes?" She asked giving him a careful look.

"Not those scenes," He assured, remembering Shari's suggestion of them rehearsing the intimate scenes. "I meant the other ones, like the dancing sequence."

Scarlett nodded and took a sip of wine that she previously poured for herself and him. "I don't see why not. It can only make them better, right?"

"Yep," He said, popping the 'p'. "That's why I suggested it." He finally added and the two kept on dining in silence. The only sounds that could be heard were the ones coming from the street below.

Scarlett retrieved the two chocolate fondants from the oven and groaned in annoyance when she saw that one of them was burned. "What the hell is wrong with this oven?" She muttered in frustration. She grabbed the perfectly cooked fondant and placed in front of Chris before going to the fridge and fetching the leftovers strawberries. She then took back her place at the table.

"Where's yours? You don't want it?" Chris asked, watching her set the bowl of strawberries before her.

"I did but it's burned." She sighed and made a sad face. "There must be something wrong with the oven."

Chris nodded and scooted his chair closer to hers. "Go on, grab a spoon. We'll share mine." He told her, knowing she wanted to eat some of it. She made it after all, she deserved it. "Come on." He urged her on and she took a spoon for herself.

They shared his desert and both ate some of the strawberries left. "It's good." Chris said, taking his last bite. Scarlett nodded her head in agreement and let out a satisfied moan. He looked at her and smiled to himself. "You're a good baker."

"Thanks but actually it's the only thing I'm capable of baking." Scarlett admitted, finishing the chocolate fondant. "One time when Rose was at her father's, a friend of his made chocolate fondants and ever since then she's been obsessed with them. When she came home, she kept asking for them so I had to learn and now I know the recipe by heart."

"I bet she gets chocolate everywhere when she eats them." Chris commented with a chuckle.

Scarlett nodded as a bright smile appeared on her face. Memories of her little girl eating the chocolate fondant and getting some everywhere on face came flowing in her mind. It always made her laugh and Rose would giggle. "She does, a lot." She grabbed her phone and searched for a picture of her daughter. She picked one where Rose had chocolate on her nose and chin and was laughing. 'Look at her." She held out her phone for Chris to see.

Chris laughed making an 'awww' face at the picture. "She looks so cute." He beamed and watched as Scarlett smiled proudly. "Wow, the older she gets, the more she looks like you. The resemblance is uncanny."

"Yeah, I know. It's insane." She turned around and put a hand on his forearm. "Sometimes I catch her saying some of my characters' quotes when she plays." She said, adoration in her voice. The love she had for her daughter could be seen in her shining eyes.

"Oh, that must be something. Sometimes when one of my movies comesupon TV and that we Watch it, Dodger barks along withmy character." Hejoked with a laugh, although it had happened a few times. As if the dog had recognized him. Scarlett laughed and grabbed his hand when it topped hers on his forearm.

The two laughed lightly and released a happy sigh. They started to clean up the table and do the dishes before deciding on watching a movie. They hooked Scarlett's laptop to the TV and both settled in the bed for the duration of the film. Once the movie would end, Scarlett would leave the bed and go finish her night on the couch as it was her turn.

But that wasn't what happened. Not exactly. They did watch a movie, in fact after lots and lots of begging from Chris, they watched The Little Mermaid. He claimed it was his favorite movie to watch whenever he wanted to relax.

Scarlett amicably mocked him and laughed whenever he talked along with the characters. "You've watched it way too many times." She told him with a shake of her head.

He brushed it off and started singing at her whenever a song would come up. Although, when Kiss The Girl came up, he didn't sing. No, instead he made the same noises as Scuttle does during the sequence. He squawked the lyrics, making her laugh even more. "Oh, God. Just stop, please stop." She said in between laughter and put her hand on his mouth to make him stop. "It's terrible."

Chris slightly bit her hand making her removed it with a squeak. "You're absolutely the worst." She had said even though she had been smiling.

Once the movie was over, Scarlett suggested to watch The Queen's Gambit. She said that she had watched it in a day and that he would love it. Once she put on the show and slid back under the covers, Chris turned off the lights and started watching the show with her.
