"If anything this raises more questions than it answers," Camila mumbled.

Luz had just finished catching her up on everything, with her friends interjecting to make a clarification whenever she forgot or misremembered something. Luz hadn't mentioned a few things though, namely the whole grimwalker deal, as well as a few other choice details to make the story more palatable.

What she didn't leave out was the fact that Belos was Philip, and that she'd helped him. She knew it would do no good to keep it a secret, so she decided to reveal it, even if Hunter wasn't comfortable revealing his secret.

"I'm sorry all this happened mija, and I promise I'll help you fix it all."

Luz's eyes widened in shock. "You mean I can go back?"

"Of course you can," Camila sighed. "Even if it means challenging an eight year-old that didn't get spanked enough as a kid."

Amity looked visibly uncomfortable at that comment, and Hunter choked on his own breath slightly.

Camila bit her lip. She hadn't thought about the possible implications of what she said, because it simply never crossed her mind. She figured this was probably uncomfortable for them, so quickly changed the subject.

"I said I would take you guys shopping today, but I think it would be better if you guys laid low for a bit. I'll go buy the stuff after I leave work."

Gus visibly deflated. "But I wanted to go human shopping," he muttered.

"No you don't," Luz scoffed. "Believe me."

Camila felt another pang of guilt. "You can go out if you want, I'd just rather you not do it in a place as crowded as the mall. We can work up to that. You guys could go to a restaurant up the town for lunch."

Luz facepalmed. "I may or may not have lost my wallet… and my phone. They got taken when the Owl House got raided."

"Por el amor de Dios." Camila beckoned Luz over to her, away from everybody else. "Luz, I'm going to need to start working full time just to get by. That means you and your friends will have to start doing some chores. And by 'some' I mean pretty much all of them. I might not be back home in time to make you guys dinner, so you'll have to figure something out between yourselves."

Luz nodded. "That's fine. And hey, it won't be too bad when we spread the load."

Camila rifled through her purse and pulled out a wad of notes. "Use this responsibly, okay? Don't go round buying loads of crap you don't need."

Luz smiled. "Thanks Mom."

"There's an old flip phone in my bedside cabinet, take that for emergencies, okay? I left a list of chores on the coffee table." Camila watched as Luz nodded. "Good, I gotta go to work." She kissed Luz on the cheek and briskly walked towards the door, shouting 'bye' on her way out.

Liz sighed, pocketing the cash. "Right, guys, here's the plan. Mamá needs to work a bit more to be able to pay for everything, so we're gonna have to do basically all the chores, since we're going to be in all day."

Everyone nodded in response, and Luz walked over to the kitchen countertop to pick up the list. She quickly skimmed over it and decided that she would give her friends all the tasks they were familiar with, like brushing the floor and cleaning the dishes whilst she took the less universal tasks such as ironing and loading the washing machine.

But first, breakfast. Cereal seemed to be a good bet since it was pretty similar in both realms, so she poured out five bowls and passed them out.

"Right," she said. "There's a lot of stuff to do, but if we split them between the five of us it shouldn't take too long."

"And that's great and all," Hunter responded. "But the thing is that I can't be bothered right now."

Amity frowned. "Camila let us stay in her house, the least we can do is some chores."

Hunter held his hands up in defence. "I agree. But, Luz said that it shouldn't take long, and we all just got up, so how about we just do it later?"

"Caleb's right," Willow lamented. "We can do them later, I don't feel like doing much of anything right now."

"So what do you want to do?" Luz asked.

"I don't know, you're the one that's familiar with this place," Gus said. "It's not like any of the information I had was accurate."

"I'm sure some of it was accurate," Hunter said, patting his friend's shoulder. "Like… human rain not boiling?"

"Everyone knows that…" Gus muttered.

"Well, maybe a lot of it was inaccurate," Luz said. "But maybe that's a good thing, because it means that you get to not only find out new stuff, but find out if you were right or not on other stuff."

Amity decided to interject at that moment. "What do you do for fun here? It's not like we can practice grudgby or flyer derby, and we can't even go see a play or something."

Luz's eyes lit up. "I've got the perfect idea!" She ran out of the room and returned a moment later with a small rectangular case. It had some art on the front, and Luz opened the case to reveal a shiny metal disk.

"What do you do with it?" Gus asked, looking at his reflection in the disk. "Do you just look at it and try to get a weird looking reflection?" He reached out to touch it, but Luz pulled it back just in time.

"You're not supposed to touch the disk, you might damage it." She held up the case to let her friends get a look at it.

"Star Wars: A New Hope," Willow read. "Luz, what is this?"

"Only one of the greatest movies ever," Luz smiled. "Apart from the Azura adaptations of course."

"What's a moo-vy?" Gus asked excitedly, grabbing Luz's shoulder. "Is it a type of game? How do you play? I need to know!"

"So you know a crystal ball?" Luz tried her best to pull Gus off of her. "It's like a crystal ball but flat instead of round and there's a play on it."

"A play on a crystal…" Amity tried to search for the right word. "On a crystal screen?"

Luz nodded.

"What's it about?" Hunter asked. "Is it about human history?"

"No, it's set in a fictional world," Luz said. "But it's really good. They made two other ones as well - but only two sequels. No more."

Gus raised his voice excitedly. "How can you have a war in the stars?" he asked. "They're in the Void, and you can't get up there."

Luz smiled widely. "Well, we call it Space, you can get up there, and we have been up there!"

Then she quickly dragged everyone into the living room before they could question that statement.

"Wait," Gus said as he was thrown onto the couch. "How do you get up there? I thought humans didn't have magic?"

"You basically get up there in a really big ship with a massive engine on the bottom." Luz put the disk into the DVD player and turned on the TV. "You can't breathe in space, and there's no gravity."

"I mean, we knew the second part," Hunter said. "It's not hard to figure out that gravity comes from planets, people knew that decades ago."

Hunter was about to continue his train of thought, but was promptly deafened by blaring fanfare.

"By the way, this movie is like forty years old and it's definitely showing it's age in places," Luz said.

"Why do we have to do reading before it starts?" Willow muttered.

"It's setting up the world and the plot, okay?" Luz snapped. "It's a convenient way to deliver exposition."

Two hours later, the four witches watched as the credits rolled.

"That was… interesting," Willow said. "Definitely better than any play I saw back on the Isles."

Luz looked at her girlfriend. "You had a crush on Leia, didn't you?"

Amity blushed heavily. "I would leave you for her," she joked.

"The laser sword fight sucked," Hunter said. "I've seen coven guards fight better than that, which is saying a lot."

Gus was practically vibrating in his seat. "That. Was. So. Cool! I want to watch the next one? Can we watch the next one? I want to know how it was made, did they go into the Void to film it?"

"There's a documentary called 'behind the scenes' that they make for pretty much every movie," Luz responded. "It basically goes over how the film was made with interviews with the cast and crew." She looked at the clock on the wall and sighed. "But we should probably go do those chores first, then go get lunch."

They got the chores done fairly quickly, and after that, they decided to go out for lunch. Gus was ecstatic that he would get to see more of Earth. The best way could describe it was peaceful. Not in a bad sense, it's just that when you're used to everything from bells to food screaming at you, it felt almost a little dead by comparison.

Luz had shown him some pictures of human clothes so he could give them all illusions of this realm's acceptable attire, as well as making their ears round and changing the colour of Amity and Hunter's eyes (apparently humans had none of the cool eye colours). He'd also made sure to cover up Hunter's scar. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it would do until they got some clothes.

Human food in general was pretty good. Luz ordered something called a 'pizza' for them to all share, which came in the form of a large, circular dough base with lots of red sauce and toppings. She had also mentioned that it was a cardinal sin to put pineapple on a pizza, and Gus had logically assumed that it was an affront to the humans' god or something.

"No?" Luz laughed when he asked. "No, it's just gross."

"Oh," Gus murmured, quickly noting down that humans were very picky with food. "Wait, I've been meaning to ask about this, what's the name of your god?"

"We don't have one."

Willow adjusted her glasses. "But why would you not assume that whatever titan were on right now is a god?"

Luz smiled widely, this would be fun. "We're not on a titan."

"What?" Amity asked, baffled. "Then what is the land on?"

"Dirt. Then stone. Then magma. Then a bunch of other stuff I don't know because I didn't pay attention in geography."

"So the concept of a god was something you only learnt about when you went to the Isles?" Gus questioned.

"No, loads of people believe in a god, it's just that whatever god they believe has never been proven to exist. That's why I don't believe in any of them, anyway."

"So because there's no definitive proof for one god, lots of people worship lots of different gods?" Hunter asked. "That seem like it could lead to some… disagreements."

"Yeah, loads of wars were waged over religions, but i think it helps people cope with existential dread and whatnot, so it's got some upsides." Luz paused as a waitress walked by and quickly asked for the bill. "But yeah, I don't believe it, personally."

"This is fascinating!" Gus stammered as he frantically wrote everything down. "Having different religions is just not a thing back home because we have empirical evidence of the titan, it never occurred to me that not only do humans not have any titans, but have loads of different religions because of that!"

"I can't tell if he's just on Earth fever or he drank too much coffee," Willow lamented.

"Both of them at once!" Gus smirked.
