You might want to re-read the previous chapters as I have reread and rewrote some parts, correcting mistakes and clarifying things (for example I have changed the number of prefects as I had put 8 instead of 24, so thank you to the person who told me, and I explained why Remus Lupin is the headmaster in the second chapter). Let me know if there is anything you would like to see changed or edited.

CHAPTER 8. SLUMBER PARTY
Friday, September 26th
Hermione got up and went into the bathroom. She tied her hair up in a loose ponytail and took a quick shower. She then washed her face and brushed her teeth. She put on moisturizer, brushed her hair, and took out her make-up bag. She put on winged eyeliner, put on mascara, and put on lip balm. Hermione put her toiletries away and walked back into the room.
"Morning," said Fay, who was putting on her tie.
"Morning," Hermione replied cheerfully.
"Last day of the week," sighed Parvati, braiding her hair. Hermione grinned.
"Nearly a month has gone by," Hermione added.
"Christmas is in less than three months!" giggled Lucie.
"You know what we should do," started Lavender walking into the room. "A girls' night!" she exclaimed, smiling. Parvati grinned and Lucie clapped, jumping up and down.
"Yes yes yes!" Lucie exclaimed.
"You know, as it's been pretty much a month since we've been back and all I think it could be really fun," Lavender continued. Parvati grinned at Lavender.
"You already know I'm down," replied Parvati.
"We could have a picnic down by the lake," added Fay.
"And go swimming in the lake if it's warm," piped Lucie, beaming.
"At what time do we meet up?" Hermione asked while putting on her socks.
"4:00 pm after Care of Magical Creatures" offered Parvati.
"Great!" replied Lavender.
"Is it just us five or can others come?" Hermione asked, adjusting her Gryffindor tie.
"Other girls can come, but I don't think Harry and Ron count," said Parvati grinning. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"What are you talking about? I'm sure Ronalda and Henrietta would love to join us," mocked Hermione grinning back. Lavender laughed. "I was talking about Ginny," added Hermione.
"Oh yes Ginny is great!" exclaimed Lucie.
"Oh can I bring Padma along too?" asked Parvati.
"Of course," replied Lavender, brushing her hair.
"We should invite Luna too," added Fay while making her bed. Parvati bounced up.
"I'll go inform Padma and Luna," she announced. "See you at breakfast!" she called back while leaving the room. Hermione put on her shoes and got up.
"I'll tell Ginny," she said. "You coming for breakfast Lav?" she asked Lavender, who was busy finishing her makeup.
"In a bit, tell Ron I'll be down soon will you?" she replied. Hermione nodded, grabbed her bag and headed down to the great hall.
"Morning everyone," she said cheerfully, sitting down next to Ron. "Lavender will be down in a bit," she added to Ron.
"Thanks," replied Ron, smiling at her.
"Morning 'Mione," replied Harry. "You look cheerful," he noted. Hermione grinned.
"Last day of the week and a girls' night tonight," she explained. "Talking about that," she added, looking around. "Where's Ginny?" she asked. Ron shrugged. "I'm supposed to invite her to the girls' night," she explained. Harry and Ron grinned at each other.
"Not inviting us 'Mione?" teased Ron grinning. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Are you two girls?" she asked, sticking her tongue out at them. The three of them laughed. Just then Ginny sat down next to Harry.
"Morning," said Ginny sleepily.
"Morning," replied the trio.
"Oh Gin, you down for a picnic later?" Hermione asked. Ginny grinned.
"You bet!" she replied enthusiastically. "Who with?" she asked.
"Girls' night," replied Hermione. "You, me, the other girls in my dorm, Padma and Luna," she added. Ginny grinned at Harry and Ron.
"Are you two upset about being left out?" she teased. Ron pulled a face at his sister.
"Shove off, will you?" he grumbled grinning. The four of them laughed.
"Oh Gin, the girls want to go swimming too so take a bikini with you," added Hermione.
After breakfast, Hermione hurried up to her and Draco's shared common room to get her books. She opened the door to find Draco and a couple of his Slytherin gang already there. Pansy Parkinson smirked at her.
"Oh look who joined us, it's the mudbl-," she started to jeer at Hermione but Draco cut her off.
"Enough Pansy," he said in a dry tone. Pansy, shocked, stopped talking immediately. Hermione, who was shocked too, hid a smile that had crept up on her face. She grabbed her books and hurried off to Charms class.
"I'm so hungry," groaned Ron. Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Ron, it's 10:00 am, how are you already hungry?" Hermione asked, grinning.
"I don't know," muttered Ron.
"Lunch is after Potions," added Harry, grinning at Hermione.
"That's two hours away," replied Ron.
"Ron-Ron!" called Lavender, running up to the trio and hugging Ron. Harry and Hermione shared a look and grinned at each other. In potions, Harry and Hermione were paired together and made a practically perfect flask of liquid luck, much to Professor Snape's annoyance. At 4:00 pm, after Care of Magical Creatures, Hermione made her way across the grounds to the lake.
"Granger!" called Draco making Hermione turn. He walked up to her and held out a piece of parchment. "Snape wanted to give this to you but you left too fast," he said simply. The two of them met each other's gaze before Draco turned and walked away. Hermione opened the note and read it.
Meet me in my office Wednesday, October 8th at 8:00 pm.
Hermione frowned a little. She folded the parchment and joined the other girls for the picnic, completely forgetting about the note.
At 8:45 pm the girls headed back to school.
"What a wonderful evening," noted Fay. Lucie grinned.
"I'm so happy we got to swim again!" she exclaimed giggling. Ginny grinned at Lucie.
"It was so much fun!" she agreed, smiling happily.
The five dorm girls said goodnight to Padma, Lucie and Ginny and made their way up to their dorm.
"What a day," sighed Hermione flopping onto her bed. She took off her shoes and lay back.
"And it's finally the weekend!" exclaimed Lucie, clapping her hands and grinning.
"Oh, we can go to Hogsmead in October," added Lavender, sitting on her bed.
"I can't wait!" said Parvati. Hermione grinned. She grabbed her towel and pyjamas and went to take a shower.
She brushed her hair, brushed her teeth, and got into her pyjamas; pink shorts with black hearts on them and a white spaghetti-strap crop top. She plaited her hair and put on deodorant, moisturizer, and lip balm. She hung up her towel on the back of her chair and sat on her bed.
"Plait my hair, will you please Hermione?" asked Lucie smiling. Hermione smiled back. She quickly platted a single plat for Lucie.
"All done," she said, squeezing Lucie's shoulders. Lucie grinned.
"Thanks!" she replied. Fay took out a packet of Bertie Botts every flavoured beans.
"Anyone want some?" she asked. Hermione, Lucie, Parvati, and Lavender all sat around Fay; Parvati and Lavender sat on Parvati's bed and Fay, Lucie, and Hermione pushed Lucie's bed against Fay's and the three of them sat down on the two beds. The five girls talked and ate until late at night. Hermione woke up, rolled over, and looked at her watch. 3:57 am. The moon was shining into the room. She looked around the dorm room. Parvati and Lavender were fast asleep in Parvati's bed. On Fay and Lucie's beds, which had been pushed together earlier on that night, was where Hermione was sitting and had been sleeping alone with Fay and Lucie. She shrugged her cover off and draped it over Lucie. Hermione got up, walked into the bathroom, and drank a glass of water. She went to sit by the window and looked out at the grounds. She took out a piece of parchment and a quill.
Dear Sirius,
I hope you don't mind me writing to you. I just really need some advice and I'm not sure who to turn to.
I feel really odd lately, out of place almost. I can't really explain the feeling.
I just feel like I'm so lonely even though I'm surrounded by people. I hoped that you would be able to help me because you out of all people know what it's like to be alone.
I have a pit in my stomach and I don't know what it is.
I am so sorry if this is unclear but I don't know how to explain it.
Sorry for the burden,
Hermione Granger
She folded the latter and went to the owlery. She tied the letter to a barn owl and sent it out the window. Hermione watched the bird fly out into the night and sighed.
'What's wrong with me?' Hermione asked herself sadly.
