So I was scrolling through Netflix looking for a romantic comedy anime and saw Ouran High School Host Club. I had passed by it once or twice and finally opened it. I sat there for the next 10 hours and 24 minutes(minus the outro and intro. I watched the intro on the first and last episodes though.) watching the whole thing. It quickly became one of my favorite shows. So I figured, why not add another rich kid. The school could buy more space to accommodate them.

Chapter One

You want me to what?

Jaden P.O.V

A dark-skinned young man in street clothes paced back and forth in front of a large set of gates with a phone pressed to his ear.

"Father I really don't have a good feeling about this. I don't see why I couldn't just stay at my old school." He insisted into the phone, his semi-deep voice echoing across the empty pathway.

"Nonsense. Son-I mean Jaden. I know I haven't been-er the best dad for a long time but I promise you that this would be better for you and your sister. I may have been late to drag your brother into this but it's not too late to help my middle and youngest child"

I released a sigh as I fiddled with my clothes. He ordered my Uniform late and I won't be getting it for a while. "You know Skylah isn't even in Japan right?"

"Wait she isn't?"

My voice hit "I can't deal with you anymore" levels as I said, "You sent her to Hawai. And she's probably going to get kicked out soon"

I took off my cap to shove a hand through my mop of black hair. The dumbass didn't even know where he sent her.

"Ah- I've just received a message that if I don't get her out of there within 24 hours, they'll execute her...and she wants to go on a world tour"

"What did I tell you?"

"Not to do that but I did anyway..."

"Now she's practically on death row."

"Listen Jaden, I'm sure you share your mom's opinion on this but she relented because she thinks this would be a good experience for you."

I slipped my cap back on as he continued. "I'm sure it's awkward not having me around and them suddenly coming back out of the blue with a bit of a new family and throwing you on a plane to Japan"

"You know, I'm not bothered by any of that."

"You're a smart kid, you can excel anywhere"

Where did you learn I was a smart kid? Did my mom badger you after my grades dropped by a single point? The only reason it dropped was that she insisted that I'd make her dinner and made me miss the deadline for one assignment. It didn't matter after I turned it in late getting full points

"And I'm sure you've been well socially"

Not really, I've become pretty stand-off-ish. People either find me cute or intimidating. Emotions are becoming a bit distant. Maybe I'm becoming the smarter version of Saitama. My mind is growing too powerful.

"I heard you even had a girlfriend or two"

Three actually. They all asked me out and I said yes after I spent more time with them.

"I'm sorry about your break up"

You should be. I knew she was going to break up with me, but she was going to do it in person until you slapped me onto a plane. I got stuck with a text that made me cry after reading it 4 hours late.

"I'm sure you'll find someone just as good or better here"

Not my main focus. I might just study for once and graduate early if I meet any annoying people.

"Jaden, High school is an important part of your life, don't waste it."

My god, why do I keep hearing this? Do people not get that everyone older than me has told me this at least twice?

"Farwell my son, be good, work hard, wear protection, and have a great time."

After that, he hung up his long phone call and I was left staring at my phone. Did he just say "Wear protection"? What kind of guy does he take me for? I might share some of his facial features but I'm not the type to go around having kids and leave them for years of their lives.

Seems I'm a bit salter about that than I thought.

I released another sigh as I walked inside, internally marveling over the sheer wealth this school held.

I collected the curious glances of nearly everyone I passed. Not surprising due to me being the new kid, in the middle of the year as well. Although some blushing glances lingered a bit longer, though glances full of fear were the shortest.

Why do people even find me scary? My first girlfriend said, "You have the eyes of a shark". But that can't be it. I also sometimes have the look of a sad puppy, or someone just kicked my dog or something. So between being depressing and hell-bent on murder, that's what people find scary?

As I was walking I walked into a first-year class that was, thankfully, mine.

"Ah class, I'd like to welcome a new student"

I small greeting rang out among them. Both twins possess amber-colored eyes, auburn hair, a thin face, and pale skin.

Good god they look like trouble

The other one that caught my eye was someone sitting right between them. The male uniform, looks like a cute, short boy with cropped brown hair, large and shiny brown eyes(they seem like a girl's), although the shininess may be due to contact lenses.

I cleared my throat as I prepared to introduce myself. I had to learn more Japanese for this.

"Hello, I'm Jaden Abe. (I changed my last name to let people be a bit more familiar with me.) My father had recently gained some money and choose to send me here. I hope we can be friends and we won't have any problems." I aid stumbling over my words a bit.

Soon enough I was sitting behind the person I mentioned before. I can't be sure that they're a boy due to the girlish air around them. I'll have to ask around to not be rude. At least I think that's the best option. Not like I could go up to them out of the blue and get in their face.

After class ended I started packing up when I heard the twins saying things to me.

"Oi are you even listening to us?" The twin on the right asked me.

After clearing my mind of random thoughts, I shook my head. "Sorry my mind is on other things"

They looked at each other and a grin spread across their faces. "What exactly were you thinking about?" They spoke in synch.

God, I know that it's a twin thing but this is far more intense than I'm used to.

"Learning more," I said, trying to derail them from me.

They stuck out their tounges and blew a raspberry before walking away. As I stood up, I locked eyes with the person sitting in front of me.

They then walked forward towards me and held out a hand. I reached out and shook it.

"Ah Hello Abe-san," They said to me. Ignoring the name part(Ugh to be convenient I took my dad's remarried name.), as it sounded odd to be called that, I thought about the voice I heard. Once again, not distinctly male or female.

"Ah hello-" I started and looked over quizzically

"Haruhi Fujioka"

Remembering that I know have to use honorifics, I struggled to remember what was in that article I read.

.

In Japan, most of the time people call each other by their family name rather than their given names. A Japanese honorific title is a suffix that goes after the person's name as in "Satou (name) san (honorific)" to raise this person.

In doubt, better stay safe and go with the person's family name. You will use the suffix when referring to your interlocutor or someone else in your conversation. As you may know, Japanese society values hierarchy, and someone of higher status may drop the honorific title.

San, the most common one, could be translated as "Mr.", "Mrs." and "Ms." and is gender-neutral. However, you will find that Japanese honorific titles are more complicated to use than it looks and that they cannot be so easily translated.

.

It's helpful but I need a bit further down.

.

San (さん)

San is certainly the first honorific title you will learn when studying Japanese or going to Japan. The usage of san is very wide: the suffix can be added to a person's characteristics and entities such as a company. For example, a baker could be called "pan ya san" (literally Mr bread shop).

Sama (さま)

Sama is the respectful version of san, mostly used in business and clientele contexts. This is since the implied superiority of the guest or customer is very strong. When you send a letter, the recipient's name will be followed by the kanji "様". To address a group of persons or an audience with respect, sama is attached to "mina" (everyone). This title is also a part of several sets of phrases such as "ostukaresama" or "omachidou sama". You easily understand why the Japanese deities are referred to as "kami sama". Formal Japanese can be confusing and complex, please take a look at our guide on Japanese Keigo ( Formal Japanese) to learn the proper way of speaking in formal Japanese

Kun (くん)

The informal Kun (君) is strictly reserved for young men or juniors although, in a business context, young women can be called "Kun" by their superior. Once again, you should always keep in mind the implied hierarchy of a title. Kun is used by a person of a higher status towards a younger male or a child. Friends can also refer to each other by Kun in a casual context and women can use it to address a man to whom they are very close.

Chan (ちゃん)

Chan, the childish version of san, refers to children and girls. The change from "s" sound to "ch" is considered cute in Japanese. Like for Kun, friends and lovers can also address each other with this honorific. Surprisingly, there is some strange and wonderful exceptions to chan, as it can be used to refer to an endearing adult. Among the most famous examples, you will find Arnold Schwarzenegger, called Shuwa chan. Fun fact! Chan is also frequently used to refer to cute animals and in particular, cats!

One common mistake Japanese learners make is referring to themselves with an honorific title. Remember to never use san or any other title to refer to yourself unless you want to sound arrogant! The only exception to the rule is chan: in a casual context, some people, in particular, women, will refer to themselves in a childish third person.

.

So... san it is?

"Fujioka-san, what did you come over here for?" I said placing San, hoping I got it right.

"Well Abe-san, I was wondering if you needed someone to show you around the school," They said(still not concrete on gender here)

"I would appreciate that," I said offering a small smile. Hoping it doesn't look weird.

I was greeted with a small laugh and after releasing a sigh in my head, he/she(?) showed me around. Everywhere besides a music room.

As we were walking towards it, she/he(?) stopped me. "You might not want to go in there"

"Why not? I heard it's an unused music room. Seems like a pretty good place to study."

They muttered something under their breath, something like. "I thought the same thing"

I grabbed their hand. "It can't be that bad," I said as I pushed open the door.

As it opened, a bright white light filtered out and a small breeze carried rose petals out in a swirl pattern.

A small harmony of male voices gave me a welcome.

A boy with a clipboard said. "Welcome to the Ouran High host club"

Fujioka let out a sigh, seemingly defeated. "Here we go again" was muttered.

A blonde guy with violet eyes stepped forward. "Ah another scholar that is openly gay"

I felt a tick form in my eye. I might be a lot of things. I have nothing against people that are gay or anything but I'm not.

"I'm not gay-"

"You are another shining beacon of hope for commoners, so I've heard." He said with a flourish.

"Ah- I'm a what?"

"A young man from a hard life in the American suburbs raised without a father figure, and then out of the blue, your father comes out of nowhere with a new family and forces your hand into a plane to Japan to live a new life." The blonde-haired boy said with a hand over his eyes as if he was crying.

A small boy holding a bunny jumped onto me, think of a small rock being thrown at a brick wall, minus the bouncing.

"Wow Abe-chan, your so solid, you have to be a hero or something," The small blonde boy said as he climbed the side of my body.

Fujioka was standing in the background, based on the look on their face, they were having a massive sense of déjà vu.

I managed to grumble out, "I'm really not a beacon or a hero" As the small boy adjusted himself on my shoulders. I instinctively grabbed his legs. I used to do this with my little nephew all the time before I was dropped into Japan.

The little guy on top of me lifted his hands into the air and let out a cheer. "You're almost as tall as Mori-senpai"

I had a feeling this "Mori-senpai" is the guy that's freaking a good 6'3. Standing at a height of 5'5 isn't the best comparison. I'm fairly short compared to these guys. I'm only taller than Fujioka and the little one on my shoulders currently. I assume that this little guy isn't as young as he looks.

The dumb blonde one started going on about what type of guys I'm into(None to be clear).

At first glance, they have the strong silent type, The boy lolita, the mischievous type, the cool type, the princely type, and then now I'm realizing that Haruhi Fujioka, is one of them. So what type is he(/she?). The girly? The average? One of those.

The blonde guy reached over to try and touch my face. Keyword. Try

Before you know it, The small one was back on the floor and my foot was pushing the blonde "Princes" face into the ground.

After I removed my foot, he lost color and went into the corner, sulking. "Hey, My bad-I didn't mean it like that. I'm not big on contact with other people that I don't know well"

"Well, what about Honey-senpai? He climbed onto you and sat on your shoulders." The sulker said.

I felt a massive drop of sweat go down my face. "It was an unexpected action and due to his small size, it dug up some old reflexes"

As he sat in the corner, everyone started to introduce themselves and discuss me. Soon the blonde one joined the conversation that I was having a hard time keeping up with. I had to sit here and translate every last word, and then process what they're saying.

"So Abe-san, do you mind if we call you Jaden?" The blonde one asked me.

"Uh sure. I'd actually prefer that. I changed my name, I made it a Japanese name to make it easier on you guys but it would be nice if you called me Jaden."

I heard them picking an honorific to place onto my name. Jaden-Kun, Jaden-san, Jaden-chan, Jaden-bou, Jaden-shi, Jaden-sama, were all names they threw around but I dropped my head. They were all a bit weird sounding. In my ears at least. "Let's just drop it, Refer to me as Abe-san or whatever you please."

My hopes of them calling me just Jaden were...slim. You see that's called Yobisute, the act of dropping the suffix when referring to someone else. It's meant to show a degree of intimacy. Even if it wasn't romantic, the chances of me getting that close to someone before I get used to the whole san and chan thing with my first name are very small.

I took off my hat and suddenly the blond "King" let out a small gasp. "Your hair is pretty long for a guy. Not too long but not short either."

My hair goes through many, many different looks. Currently, it's in the "It's all brushed to the right but that annoying stand that likes to fall into my eyes" look.

Somewhere along the line I gave up shoving it out of the way and started flicking out with my head. From time to time I use my hand to move it though. Naturally, this leads to a lot of neck movement. When that strand fell into my eye, I instantly was ready to flick it back with a head movement.

Another gasp from the "boss man". He lowered his face and his eyes were covered with a shadow. Crap that's never a good sign in anime.

Before I could run away he snapped his fingers in a lifted hand. "Twins" was all he said before the twins went over to me and locked my arms with theirs, lifting me off the ground.

I looked around almost frantically. "Uh, guys? What's going on?"

"Mori-senpai, can you go get a uniform for him?" The blonde idiot asked as the tall boy ran out.

"kyoya(A.N. AHH I'M SORRY I FORGOT WHAT HONORIFIC HE USES. I'LL FIX IT I SWEAR), what do you think he should do with his hair?"

The dark-haired boy pushed up his glasses(/Headlights) and said, "Nothing, females might take a liking to his rough exterior, messy hair would be a sign of his inner soft side"

What the hell? I'm not mean or anything am I? What am I a tsundere or something? I want aware that I was rude. I don't remember being mean or dealing with romantic emotions that much. Are they going to turn me into a host too? Like they did with Fujioka? I'm going to need a new mask then. And an attractive face.

The boys dragged me into a changing room and held the male uniform up. When did they get that from Mori-senpai?

"Put this on," They said in sync.

I slowly took it from them and they started to walk out. After I gave them the finger when they didn't move.

Of course, for rating reasons, we can't showcase that here. So, anyone who saw a blurred screen, especially under the age of ten, I got a nasty cut on my finger from the hanger and showed it to the twins, making them feel bad for causing it as they go to face the wall for giving me a boo-boo.

Everyone else above that age category, those fuckers deserved it. I swear to god.

After I got dressed I walked out to be greeted by all of the members of the host club staring at me. "He doesn't look half bad," The twins said in...you know by now.

Tamaki looked me up and down. "Not bad. Now give me a hair flip, smile, and a hello ladies."

I internally groaned. Holding back from making a face, "Tamaki-senpai, do I have to?"

"Yes you do, to repay us for giving you that uniform!"

I looked down and saw a caption screen that said. "Bullshit!"

I already have a uniform coming. You didn't need to do this!

I have a feeling this is how the first episode went.

"Let me guess you want me to even have flowers in the background, sparkles, and pull a flower out of nowhere," I asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yes of course but not red roses" "King," said as he did it with white roses behind him and a white rose in hand.

"So in this anime, we are given a rose color based on who we are correct?" I asked.

"Yes. Mine is lavender" Kyoka-senpai said. (I'm getting the hang of the honorifics). "If your rose color is one we don't have, we are going to be even more hard-pressed to add you to the club" He continued.

So this is their plan. They want to make me a host all because of a Hair flip!

Letting out a sigh, I obliged.

I leaned forward a bit for dramatic flair. Flicking my hair out of my face, I moved my hand in front of my producing a black rose, with them in the background as well. "Hello ladies," I said in a tone of voice that I would assume they would use often. I could feel the sparkling around my face.

Tamaki-senpai was in tears. "Abe-san...*sniffle* perfect," He said as he held back tears.

Now is the part of the anime where someone smacks him on the back of the head or tells him something that sends him to the emo corner.

"Uh, thanks."

"Abe-san-No Jaden-san. I absolutely need you to join our host club."

"What do you need me for?" I asked

"You could draw in many customers"

A caption box materialized again and I read it, feeling my pride a bit wounded in the process.

Unused to being associated with being attractive due to bad history with females.

It's not bad...is it? Sure I've only dated three times and was called ugly more than my fair share of times but I've gotten a few compliments from not just girls but a guy once.

Coming from the guy that argues with everyone that bothers to call him cute!

I slammed my fist onto the box, trying to get rid of it before everyone could read it.

Too late dumbass!

I gave a nervous chuckle as I slammed the box more. "Fanfiction authors am I, right? The people always got it out for me"

"R-right," They said feeling a bit awkward.

When the box disappeared, we all cleared our throats.

"So Abe-san, do you wish to join the Ouran Highschool host club?" Tamaki-san asked a bit more firmly this time.

"I'm not really looking to join any clubs"

"But imagine it, girls coming around all day just to see you, you get to please women all day, nearly every day, no strings attached...unless you want there to be" He whispered the last part.

"I'm not really looking to do more than I have to this year-"

"Kyoka-san whats his family situation before he got taken by his father"

"According to the legal documents," He said as he pushed up his glasses while my eyes bugged out at that. "His father separated from his mother when he was 7, his older brother left the house when he was 9, so he has been the man of the house. In the very beginning, he failed kindergarten and went on to become the top of his classes for the rest of his current academic career, after that summer was over. Although there was one time he got all 100's on his report card in middle school but had an 85 in science causing his mother to ridicule him online. He learned many household chores and mastered them fairly early. Although within his mind he has his moments of being very sarcastic, rude, venomous, spiteful, and angry towards his mother, he cares a great deal about her and will go large lengths for people he cares about." He finished with a glance upward. "Is that enough?"

"Yes it is Kyoka-san," Tamaki said, slightly twitching from the sudden dump of information.

Man, I hope this is one of those animes where no matter what happens, in the next episode it's pretty much forgotten until it's needed for the embarrassment of another character.

"So Abe-san, you like to please your mother right?" Tamaki-senpai asked.

I nodded slowly. So he thinks he's found my weak spot. Too bad he isn't quite right.

"I take it you also are good with little kids"

I raised my right brow.

"You mentioned one of your reflexes was to grab the legs of a small child to balance them on your shoulders. I would assume you do it quite often then, meaning you're at least good with one little kid."

Damn the guy is a bit smarter than I thought.

"You also don't get a lot of positive attention on the premise of appearance, or at least enough to make a guy like you more accepting to your looks"

"Yeah"

"Well, this could change that. What do you say? I don't feel like it's a good idea to hide what you are. You come off as the guy that's used to hiding behind something that not everyone can notice. Well here is your chance to change that"

I stopped my eyes from widening. Holy crap...he saw through my little mask? It was high time I fixed it anyway.

I shrugged and said with a smile. "Why not?"

A small cheer rang out. I lifted my hands into the air. "One thing first" I stepped forward towards Fujioka. "If you don't mind I want to check something."

"Go right ahead. What is it you want to check Abe-san?" Fujioka asked.

I reached out and lifted their face so they were looking into my eyes. I ran my right hand down their jawline. I ignored the sounds of anger behind me and the look of confusion on Fujioka's face.

I pulled away tapping the fingers of my right hand together. "So tell me, fellas, why do you got a cute girl like Haruhi Fujioka acting like a boy? And most importantly a host?"

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."-John Adams

Well, that's that. Idk why I keep making more stories when I've little only finished one
