Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.

Miller looked over the group of balaclava clad soldiers with fatigues. Under this winter clothing was a patch with a Great Horned Owl descending on a wounded fox.

Void Owl soldiers, the very unit Screeching Owl: the leader of the PF, and Miller had decided upon.

Screeching Owl had a hood over his head and a special red band around his arm. He also wore a pair of snow goggles, something the rest of the soldiers didn't have.

Pequod and Queequeg awaited behind them, both awaiting along with a third chopper to take the soldiers to Alaska.

Miller was well aware of Liquid's insurrection. That wasn't their assignment… Snake was going to handle it; he'd always handle it.

Big Boss was gone, but he knew Liquid was a weapon of the past, one last bullet aimed at the world because of Big Boss.

Along with Ocelot, 2 guns put to the head of the world. That couldn't happen.

"The mission is simple…. After Liquid's Kingdom of Flies, our convoy with Metal Gear Sahelanthropus was 'returned' to the United States… Shadow Moses." The soldiers said nothing, knowing their purpose for the mission.

"Your mission is simple: Retrieve Metal Gear Sahelanthropus and its stock of Metallic Archaea before it's secured by Foxhound… and evacuate any hostages on site." The soldiers heard from Miller as they stood at attention.

Venom walked up to the group of 10 soldiers, all the backup he'd be getting for the mission.

"Their back you up… you're going to need it against them…" Venom walked past a pair of the Void Owl soldiers who followed him to the helicopter.

They climbed into Pequod. Nobody took the seat next to the door.

Quiet's former spot, the one soldier Diamond Dogs could never get back. they couldn't bury or give the respect she deserved as a member of the group.

Every member of the squad knew they wouldn't be a match for Liquid. They were given strict orders and keep the mission as silent as physically possible.

Considering the fact that Owl and his partner planned to stay outside as Arctic Guards? They had very good ability to not end up blowing their cover.

Still, between the fact that Miller's student was going to be there, ALONG with a crazed terrorist who their parent company had fought before as a child.

The world was the strangest place this century, wasn't it? Pequod would take several hours to reach Shadow Moses… and they would have to split up into teams of 2. Miller gave Venom control of the PF considering many considered Void Owl was spun off from Diamond Dogs.

"This is a suicide mission." The other soldier said, Owl turned to look at his friend and shook his head.

"Every mission is a life or death assignment. We get the easy assignment, make sure the snowfields are clear and keep an eye on Sniper Wolf." Owl checked his FAMAs, the same assault rifles the rest of the Genome soldiers used… least, many did.

He slid the magazine over before reinserting it and making sure the safety of the weapon was on.

Venom looked at the duo, Owl said very little, obviously eager to get to work. They had an assignment and the soldiers were very conditioned and trained to be as professional as possible.

"Your planning on engaging Foxhound?" The words obviously sounded very dismissively.

Owl set his rifle on the wall before shaking his head. He looked at his mission commander and straightened up.

"No, the objective is recon and hostage extraction. I'm well aware this mission will be harder than any test that we've gone through before… I'm prepared to die for this assignment if needed." Owl looked out the window as his partner sighed.

"I can't believe how calm you are, sir. You scare the hell out of me." Owl heard from the soldier next to him as he shook his head.

"Remind me how someone with the codename 'Daring Dingo', got to be in Void Owl?" Dingo grumbled and turned to the side out the window.

"We won't let you down, boss, anything you need? we're handle it… I'm just questioning why you…" Owl cut himself off after his statement.

It was very common knowledge after their commander left that Venom wasn't Big Boss. Many were outraged at Big Boss pulling the wool over their eyes, others were too blindly loyal to Venom to hate him.

Owl had his own opinion, but he wasn't going to try and voice it. They had orders to try and follow, he had to keep his own nerves calm before they compromised the mission in question.

Owl didn't know how things would change when they get there. They would gain friends and lose some of their group… but this mission would change history for the world… in ways nobody guessed on.

Author notes

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out Owl's segments will be more action packed and they wont show Snake as often since… Well we already know Snake's mission. Next chapter will be in a week and will show Void Owl and Venom's arrival at Shadow Moses and their start of their mission along with Owl and Dingo meeting Sniper Wolf. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
