Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.

"This is crazy…" Dingo muttered as Owl looked at him with a roll of his eyes.

"Unless you want people to detect us? we are parachuting in. the storm is messing with the radar anyway…" Owl smirked, pulled up his goggles.

He fell backwards off Pequod. They couldn't simply land a trio of UTH-Blackfoot Helicopters at Shadow Moses.

"I HATE THIS!" Dingo yelled before falling, then Venom, then the rest of the squad joined them in flight.

"You signed up, you giant…" Owl sighed and waited as instructions came in.

"Don't open until your below 500 feet. Liquid's radar will detect anything above that… Pequod will deploy chaff to mask your approach… this is as far as direct support goes, Boss. Anything else and Liquid will know." Miller knew that they were well aware of the mission.

They knew this mission would be risky, they had very little prep time, they were going into a facility that had NUCLEAR missiles among the armaments there.

Still, they couldn't let Liquid have access to Huey's WMD. The last bullet he had loaded into a gun aimed at the world. He had betrayed them, he sold out Diamond Dogs, and cried and begged and screamed that he was innocent.

This was the last golden egg he made before Miller informed them that he committed suicide.

"Deploy!" Venom opened his parachute alongside the others. Owl opened his as well.

The wind shifted and Owl cursed, he watched two of the group drifts off course. There was nothing he could do but pray they didn't crash.

He felt his legs land in deep snow. He was glad at the very least that they had snow to cushion their fall.

"Damn it, my arm!" One of the soldiers, Hopping Hawk, yelled as he landed in the snow.

The other soldier, Gasping Gecko, slammed into the snow and didn't get up. Owl walked over towards man who was dressed in the uniform for the Heavy Genome Soldiers on sight.

"He's got a concussion… but he'll live." Came the voice from Dust Dragon, the team medic, dressed in the regular infantry BDU of the Genome soldiers.

"And Hawk?" Owl asked, knowing the mission was already in turmoil.

With 1 member who was passed out in the middle of the snow, he'd be dead weight, something that angered Owl more than anything.

"Dislocated arm… move on with the mission, we're handle them." Dragon watched as Owl lingered for a moment.

Venom noted this, it was the same shock of something happening to one of his unit… the same shock he had when he was forced to gun down an entire platoon of his men at Mother Base.

Nothing erased nightmares like that, the pain, the anguish, loading bullets into a weapon and executing men who fought alongside you.

"Owl." Venom's voice left no room for debate, he nodded and sighed.

"Patch them up and get to your posts. You… know what to do if Gecko can't awaken." Owl turned and walked away after giving these orders.

It was one thing to give orders, and another to execute them himself. He didn't have the stomach to draw his sidearm and execute Gecko.

A cowardly move for him, he checked his FAMAS and then moved forward. Void Owl always covered their tracks, Foxhound wouldn't know they were here unless they did something stupid to draw their attention.

"We're cover the snowfields, Boss. I'll give command to you." Owl stated to his commanding officer.

Void Owl's job was merely to provide backup for Venom… something they would do no matter what. they were allowed to engage the enemy, though they had orders to allow Snake to call the shots.

Fine by him. Void Owl had very little in the terms of structure at the moment and Owl hadn't been the leader for more then a few months at best.

"Listen to Miller." Owl nodded before Dingo and him spread out, both covering routes they memorized way before this assignment.

"It still bothers me about Gecko." He heard from Dingo, Owl nodded and turned to look to the side.

"I know, but there's nothing that can be done… just keep your head down and stick to orders." Owl's tone betrayed his feelings of grief of anger, more to the point of shaking his head.

A very good sign Owl was mad at someone or something? He would cock his head to the side and then quick snap back to looking in another position. It made him like the namesake animal he was codenamed for.

"Owl…" Dingo got a glare from his commander and friend, returning him to his duty.

"Gecko, you always were clumsy." Owl hissed, angry at himself for his garbage leadership of the mission.

"This is going to be a long op." Dingo muttered as he paused and turned backwards.
