Balthazar looked up to Cas in a bout of anger, the heat of the holy fire circle cramping his wings in the enclosed space. He was incredulous. Castiel, his own brother, watched him from the outside of the trap, having been favoured and allowed to roam free by the two humans like he was some pet guard dog. It was impossible to understand how an angel could choose to serve such graceless monkeys.
Then, Castiel's gaze shifted to the side, where the shorter of the humans stood trying to look imposing. He recognized the way Cas' feathers ruffled and wings jerked open a little, as if he was unconsciously leaning towards the person behind whose gaze he shared. And Balthazar chuckled, realizing how useless it'd be to try and fight this human for Cas' sympathies.
