Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.

Owl hadn't found who this woman was. It piqued his curiosity more every second.

It was like being pumped full of adrenaline. You always felt the effects when it wore off, and some wanted more, they craved more.

"Dust?" Owl asked over his Idroid as he walked through the base. "You find anything on your end yet?" Owl questioned his new second in command.

He looked at every guard he passed. Owl encountered more security the further and further inside he got. They did have something stored inside the base. Owl didn't believe it was security for Rex or Sahelanthropus. Owl didn't even know if Liquid knew Sahelanthropus was here.

Owl had questioned where Void Wing had gotten intel on the massive weapon. He really wanted to know if the intel was good, but Miller had ensured it was several times.

"I haven't found anything yet. We're busy sending anything we can find over to Mother Base." Dust put in as Owl walked past a group of Genome Soldiers. "Owl? We haven't heard from Venom in a while, I'm starting to get worried." Dust added while Owl stopped for a moment.

Venom being captured was something on his mind. He knew the former super soldier wasn't entirely perfect anymore. The man was still a far better soldier then them. That didn't make the man unstoppable, but it made him far more capable.

"Owl, you think he got captured?" Dust asked Owl who sighed. "You don't think he bit the bullet, do you?" He questioned as Owl hummed.

He spoke up once more. "No, I don't think that, Dust." Owl put in to Dust while moving forward. "Venom has been silent for hours." Dust started to say before letting out a sigh.

"Dust, I know you're not the tech guy of the group, you're the medic." Owl put in before he cracked his neck and paused outside a door. Owl could clearly see this was where a large platoon of Genome Soldiers stood guard.

"We are in the middle of a snowstorm; you know our equipment isn't 100% out here." Owl stated to his friend before pausing to clear his throat. "If he's not talking to us like this? I'm 100% sure he has a good reason not to do so. I'm a little bit busy with something, I'll talk to you when this is done, ok?" Owl muttered to his fellow soldier.

Owl knew Dust wasn't much more trained then him. You learned very quickly how much training carried when it came time to fight. Owl was in no position to scold his subordinate when he didn't have much experience on this mission.

Still? They had been given an assignment, and Owl didn't plan on dying out here. It was a few moments before the door opened and Owl's eyes widened under his balaclava.

"How?" Owl asked aloud, he cursed himself for falling prey to the idea she had died.

The woman in front of him wore no Kevlar. Owl assumed it either slowed the woman down, or she was confident enough in her ability to discard it. Her blonde hair cascaded down behind her like a river of gold. Owl noticed her blue eyes pierced anything in front of her. She was studying everything around her looking for fresh prey to kill. Owl also noted her grey coat didn't blend into the snow at all.

This woman was a hunter, but a very arrogant one. Owl could see the trained eyes of a killer in her. He couldn't see a sign of bullet wounds on her skin.

'Who the hell is this woman!?' Owl mentally hissed as he tried to gather some grasp of things.

"You are forbidden from hunting him. I told you, he is my prey." Owl watched a man depart from the room.

Liquid. He knew the brat who started all this far too well, Ocelot told him of the man. They had been trained to observe, but never fight him.

"I do not let prey escape. He will escape, I am sure of it… Letting him live is a mistake." The woman stated to Liquid who turned to yelled at her.

"Do your job, Wolf. I will handle Snake, keep the snowfields guarded. We have far more 'guests' here then before… I'm going to set up a little 'present' for Snake when he arrives," Liquid ordered before leaving. He didn't look at the soldiers surrounding him as he walked away.

Owl looked at Wolf as the woman departed. He looked at her while she departed. Owl let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

Snowfield? There was a snowfield around the hangers for the Gears… Owl decided to follow Wolf, he needed answers anyway.

"Dust? I'm going onto guard duty with someone. I want you to keep watch of me, I'll keep you updated." Owl stated before he started to fall into line behind the Foxhound sniper.

He was entirely interested now.
