Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.
"I told you, I can procure it, sir." Dingo said as he paced back and forth in the snow, holding a radio. "I just need some time to eliminate the others on the island.
"I am giving you 6 hours before you retreat, Mr. Alex." Dingo heard on the other end of the radio. "We are already under enough pressure. No one must know we are here." The voice said before going silent.
Dingo looked over the snow-covered hills. Owl wasn't stupid. He would know something is going on and try and stop this.
"Let's continue this game, Owl." Dingo said as he walked down to the snowfield.
(With Owl)
"I'll handle this, just get across the field to the elevator." Owl ordered the others. "We aren't here to fight Foxhound unless it's a part of the mission." Owl added in before sighing.
His placement on the snowfield at least allowed him a good view of the area. Owl could also tell that this area was a perfect sniper's nest unless you were flanked from above.
Then again? Owl highly doubted someone would be able to flank Wolf besides Snake or Venom.
"Do you think he's coming?" Owl asked Wolf as he looked around. "Snake, I mean." Owl added, Wolf said nothing but looked around and nodded.
"He will come," Wolf stated to Owl. "I will kill him when he gets here." Wolf put in as Owl hummed.
Owl wasn't stupid enough to doubt her. Wolf was a good sniper, but she was cocky. Owl could see her muscles tensing in the snow as she constantly checked angles. She was expecting Snake to come right through Foxhound to get here.
"And if he doesn't, ma'am?" Owl asked the sniper who let out a hum. "He's a spy, not a soldier." Owl added to which he got a nod.
If Wolf had any real idea Owl wasn't a brainwashed soldier? She didn't show it. Owl knew all she wanted was to hunt, to kill.
"Then I will find him and kill him." Wolf stated to Owl who frowned. His facial expression hidden under his balaclava.
Owl sighed and walked a few meters away. Snake wouldn't come through here, not easily. Owl knew Snake enough to know if he got here? Snake would expect a trap and counter it.
That meant Wolf would die. Owl didn't want her and this unit to die.
"The hunt is a way of life, yes?" Owl asked as he leaned on a tree. "You enjoy hunting and killing soldiers?" Owl questioned Wolf again.
"Yes." Wolf said, this talk wasn't annoying her. It was just curious why the soldiers started to talk so much. "I promised to kill those I mark as my prey." Wolf stated to Owl as the soldier hummed.
Owl knew Wolf wouldn't stop Snake. Owl doubted Wolf would stop Venom. He had heard stories of the duel between Quiet and Venom.
"You're not the first sniper to try and hunt someone." Owl said before checking his rifle. "You ever hear of the End and Quiet, ma'am?" Owl questioned the sniper while he aimed in the direction she did.
Wolf raised an eyebrow; this was a topic now she wanted to discuss.
"Yes. I know of them." Wolf said before a wry smile pulled at her face. "The End gave a glorious hunt to Saladin, but fell in battle as he was bested." Wolf stated before taking a breath. Owl saw the mist in front of her as they waited.
"Quiet had powers from a parasite, yes?" Wolf asked and got a nod from Owl. "She tried to fight Saladin as well and fell in combat. They both relied too much on their abilities." Wolf stated as Owl Frowned.
"Snake will hunt Foxhound, ma'am." Owl said while a cold mist blew through the area. "He will hunt you in return. I don't know what will happen then." Owl said with a frown once more.
Owl brushed off the cold snow, Wolf didn't react to the winds. Owl would give Wolf some credit. Wolf was a damn good sniper.
But she was too eager to kill. Owl saw the hunter in her eyes, but also the pride she took in her duty. Pride tended to blind someone during a fight.
"Why are you so concerned, soldier?" Wolf asked before somewhat turning to Owl. "Afraid your die?" Wolf questioned Owl.
Owl said nothing. Wolf returned to her weapon before letting out a hum.
"No, ma'am." Owl said with little emotion in his tone. "I'm not scared of dying out here." Owl stated to Wolf.
He was scared of his men dying… And Venom and Wolf. He had already lost people on this damned mission.
They weren't hunters, they were prey. Owl wanted to laugh at the irony.
'Out here? Even the wolfs are hunted as prey.' Owl thought to himself
