Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.

Dingo leaned against the wall as he took aim at two of the members of his 'Team'. What were their damn codenames again? Rabbit and Bear?

Who cared, they'd be dead soon enough. Dingo would have Metal Gear Sahelanthropus in hand and Void Owl would be crippled.

(With Owl)

Owl looked at one of the of the Wolfdogs scattered around the field. It wagged its tail at him, almost seeming to know what he was there for.

"Hmm." Owl hummed to himself as he turned and walked away. He could already tell something was off.

No sign of Snake, Venom hadn't reported in once since the mission started.

"Did they kill Snake? Venom as well?" Owl asked himself before shaking his head. "No, they couldn't have. Snake is too good, and I doubt they even seem to know that Venom is here." Owl stated to himself while brushing off his arms.

This snow was colder than anything he had dealt with. Owl hadn't seen much snow since being raised around Mother Base. He had some training on arctic conditions.

But you could never train someone to deal with the real deal. You only got through it by experiencing it yourself.

"It is your first time in the arctic, yes?" Sniper asked from her perch. Owl turned to look at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes." Owl stated to Wolf as he brushed off his hands. "It's beautiful though, don't you think?" Owl questioned the Foxhound sniper.

Wolf gave a short nod. Owl questioned just how professional this woman was. Owl watched Wolf give a sharp breath of air. the very air around her lips was frozen and still, like her.

"Yes, but it is just another hunt." Wolf stated while Owl raised his eyebrow and hummed.

"Every fight is a dance, ma'am." Owl said while Wolf turned her head slightly. "Even a horrid one is beautiful in its own way." Owl stated before taking a breath himself.

The duo turned to see an explosion in the sky. Owl blinked and strained to see something in the sky. Wolf looked through the scope of her weapon.

"That helicopter." Wolf stated before shaking her head. "Liquid, you idiot." Wolf muttered to herself as Owl hummed and nodded.

"Liquid was shot down?" Owl asked while Wolf hummed, she said nothing.

Wolf had to know he wasn't a member of her unit, yet she didn't kill him. Owl couldn't fathom why she kept him alive and didn't just shoot him and throw his corpse into the snow around her.

Maybe she just wanted a soldier to talk to. This place was far too peaceful for any soldier. Owl didn't hate peace, but in this case? It just meant an ambush that didn't happen at the moment.

"He will come this way." Wolf stated with a smirk. "He will come for me and I will kill him." Wolf added to her statement.

"You truly wish to fight Snake in a duel?" Owl asked as Wolf nodded. "He already defeated Ocelot, did he not?" Owl asked Wolf as he aimed his rifle.

"Ocelot didn't take him seriously." Wolf stated while Owl hummed. "I do not intend to make that mistake when it comes time for the hunt." Wolf added as Owl said nodded.

Owl knew Wolf wouldn't stop Snake. The man had already defeated both Ocelot and had wounded Raven. Owl doubted a lone sniper and support unit could defeat Snake.

And if he already took down Liquid? Then they had no leadership. Foxhound was more or less done as a military combat unit. Owl was surprised at how Void Wing didn't seem needed.

"This hunt will be your last, ma'am." Owl stated as he walked away. Owl knew this would have their grave.

"You are welcome to leave, soldier… Mantis is dead." Wolf put forward while Owl blinked under his balaclava.

Mantis was dead? So that was why Liquid was easy to defeat. Owl remembered how much trouble Mantis had been to Venom.

Now he was dead, something he couldn't believe if he tried. Owl wondered what Foxhound was even doing now that their commander was dead.

"You don't care he or Liquid are dead?" Owl questioned Wolf; he already knew what answer he'd get.

"The hunt is what matters, I joined to fight." Wolf stated while Owl hummed and nodded before cracking his neck.

Owl was about to turn and walk away before a small whistling noise was heard.

One of the Wolfdogs collapsed as Owl rushed over to look at it. Owl frowned and looked at its grazed side.

"Snake…" Wolf stated while Owl looked at her and frowned.

Owl knew this wasn't Snake, someone was stalking them. Owl sighed and watched as the wolfdog stood up.

It turned and licked at him, seeming to sense something he didn't know.

He turned and stood up.
