A/N:

It's been quite a few chapters since I showed my appreciation for the commentators, so allow me to say thank you to Leann Nickerson, Black Fungus, Cathy, and guests! You guys are super nice and the comments are always great to read. :) Hopefully these drabbles stack up to the ones before.

When Sam stumbled into the kitchen that morning, bleary eyed and his back still complaining from having leaned over the books last night, he couldn't say he'd been expecting to see Cas standing beside the coffee machine. He hadn't even been aware the angel knew how to work it.

"Hey," he greeted.

Cas smiled, speaking with a proud edge to his voice. "Hi. I made coffee."

He nodded and grabbed a mug from one of the many cabinets. It took two attempts to find the right one—not because he was tired, but because someone had put them in the wrong place again. By the time he'd turned around and grabbed the pot, Cas was frowning. "I, um—I'm not sure—"

Sam finished dumping a spoonful of sugar in and raised his eyebrows. "Hm?"

Cas waved it off. He wasn't sure why Cas decided to stick around the coffee machine if he didn't plan on drinking anything, but he thought he'd better stay too, long enough to give his opinion. The smell hit him right after he titled the mug forward.

Sam nearly choked at the strength. There was no way anyone on the planet had shown Cas how to make it so potent. Guilt flushed his cheeks a little once he'd recovered himself, but Cas already seemed to know what the problem was.

Before either of them got to say anything, though, Dean had come sauntering in and pushed himself in between them, going straight for the coffee. He stood back in awe as Dean took in a long sip, left black, and hummed approval when he pulled the mug down to chest height. Cas was containing his smile from a few feet away.

Sam glanced down at his own coffee again, now fully aware that this brew hadn't been meant for him. Or any other normal person.

He sighed, leaving Dean and Cas to the discussion they'd already started up. He needed to get some tea for this stupid place.
