Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.
Owl looked over in the direction of Wolf. He grunted in pain before trying to flank her. Owl couldn't see Wolf, the sniper was wounded, but she wasn't dead.
'I can't kill her.' Owl mentally stated to himself as he rounded the corner of the snowbank. He blinked while Wolf's scope gleamed in the pale light of the moon.
Owl turned his head just as a bullet exited the gun. The noise made his ears ring, but didn't slow his speed. Owl rushed forward, battering her rifle from her hands.
"I'm not going to kill you!" Owl yelled while her rifle slid into the snow. Owl twirled his knife and jabbed at her.
Wolf roundhouse kicked him into the snow. Owl watched as she went for her rifle. Owl reached out and grabbed her leg, tripping the sniper up as she collapsed into the snow.
Owl lunged forward with the knife only for Wolf to roll and twist his arm, sending the weapon into the snow.
"You've never hunted life and death before!" Wolf stated as Owl pushed both of them backwards. They slammed into the wall of the bank. Owl and Wolf collapsed to the ground.
"I know what it's like to be a soldier, Wolf." Owl said while he panted. Owl blinked and noticed the gleam of his blade.
He grabbed it and spun it while Wolf reached for her pistol. Owl flicked the blade towards her.
Wolf hissed as the blade grazed her tree while the blade flew forward. Owl didn't know where it landed.
"This hunt is all I have." Wolf put in as her pistol cleared the holster. Owl reached for his.
Wolf was faster. Owl blinked as he tried to roll away while Wolf opened fire in his direction. Owl hissed as the bullets ripped at him. He saw more red snow as he finally drew his pistol.
"That's not true…" Owl said before he finished pulling his pistol from his holster. "You can still walk away from this." Owl stated while opening fire.
Wolf had charged at her rifle. She felt the round graze her leg. Owl surged forward only to be met with a kick that knocked him into the snow. Owl fired the last round; Wolf felt the round graze her side.
"How do you know?" Wolf asked Owl who grunted and tried to struggle to his feet. Pain racked his body while Owl leaned on a tree and grunted with pain.
"I trained for years to do this mission… I came here, not expecting to leave." Owl stated while he strode forward towards Wolf. Wolf struggled and found her own footing.
The two soldiers faced each other, wounded and exhausted. Owl gathered his energy to subdue Wolf.
If he did that? Then he could deal with treating his wounds. He sighed.
"I'm not going to kill you… Not even if it kills me." Owl stated before rushing forward.
Owl was met with a punch to his face. He blocked the jab at his ribs while he felt his nose throb. Owl slammed a fist into her chest before Wolf grabbed his arm. Owl felt Wolf try and kick out his leg while he stepped back and pivoted. Owl grabbed at her arm and twisted as he spun around her.
Owl elbowed Wolf in the small of the back driving her to a knee before she reversed the armbar. Owl was met with another kick which knocked the air from his chest.
Owl wheezed before throwing them backwards into a tree. Owl then kicked her leg which knocked Wolf down.
"Your… Not just a soldier." Owl wheezed out as he took a few deep breaths. Both he and Wolf panted as their wounds started to take their toll to them.
"You don't know me…" Wolf responded while Owl wiped the crimson from his face. His face felt cold, the snow stung both of them in the face.
"Then tell me." Owl said while he tried to catch his breath. This fight had to end or he'd pass out from shock.
"You wouldn't understand it." Wolf stated while Owl rolled his eyes and rushed forward. Wolf was busy trying to aim her gun.
Owl slammed into Wolf, throwing both of them into the snow. He landed on top of the sniper and tried to aim his gun at her.
She grabbed his arm and he hers as the duo panted in exhaustion. Both pulled their triggers.
The guns clicked empty. Owl grunted before his pistol clattered into the snow. Wolf looked at the wounded soldier.
"This fight… Is over." Owl stated to the subdued sniper. Wolf dropped her pistol.
The two soldiers could only pant in exhaustion as the cold winds blew at their faces.
"What now… Owl?" Wolf replied while Owl tried to respond.
Owl had nothing to say, there was nothing he could say.
Author notes
Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out I wanted the fight to be longer, but I didn't know if it would work. Next chapter will end up being in a week or so. Next chapter will also show Owl and Wolf talking and the other catching up to Owl. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Frogs is currently pushed back.
