Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.
Owl sighed as Bear and Rabbit turned with their guns trained on the door. He knew for a fact that the rest of the squad would be fighting them soon. Dingo wasn't going to back down when it came down to it.
"Rabbit, have you or Bear found anything like that?" Owl questioned and cracked his back. He held his rifle loosely in his left hand.
Owl knew for a fact that his group would have to leave soon. They were here to fight and take care of Metal Gear Sahelanthropus. Owl hadn't heard from Wolf or Venom. He hoped Venom hadn't tried to kill Wolf. She was a good soldier; Wolf didn't deserve to die here in the snow.
"Not really." Rabbit stated before he cracked his neck. His fingers flew over the keyboard. "Whoever put this thing here? They locked down the hanger. I'm trying to bypass the systems. Why, you want me to call for backup?" Rabbit questioned Owl who hummed and rolled his eyes.
"We aren't getting any damn backup, Rabbit." Bear stated while Owl hummed and checked his weapon. "This was a clean up op and we all knew going in people were going to die. The best thing we can do now? Get the damn mission done. We're honor the rest of the squad by making sure they didn't die for nothing." Bear added and turned to Owl.
Owl put his rifle down on the console and then turned to look over his shoulder at the door. They had put the table in the room against the door. Owl didn't know if it would keep the rest of Dingo's men out of the room.
"The second he sticks his damn head inside here?" Bear asked before cocking his shotgun. "He'll regret ever meeting us when it comes down to it. I'll slaughter him, boss." Bear added as Owl rubbed at his chin.
"I want to know who he's working for, Bear." Owl stated before starting to check his pistol. "He betrayed us. We all got that into our heads, but we don't know who the hell he's working for." Owl added as Bear and Rabbit shared a look.
Owl knew things would be different when they got back to base. There would be way more background checks and such when even a single member entered the team. They would be broken up more to be interviewed and such.
Void Wing would become more regimented all because Dingo took a better paycheck then them.
"I'll keep looking through the computer systems. I doubt Liquid will know about this." Rabbit stated as Owl hummed. "Why would they bring 2 Metal Gears all the way out here?" Rabbit questioned the others.
"Because it's a hellhole in the middle of nowhere." Bear stated and got a nod from Owl. "They wanted to put them somewhere nobody would ever find them. Who would think to come here unless you knew exactly what to look for?" Bear questioned as Owl put in his own ideas.
"Plus, with Sahelanthropus here?" Owl asked Bear and Rabbit. "They could study him and rework his tech into new Metal Gears. Let's not forget Sahelanthropus was supposed to bridge gaps in new generations of weapons. Why wouldn't they rip him open to study him?" Owl questioned Bear and Rabbit.
"Well, at least nobody will be getting their hands on him besides us." Rabbit put in before Owl shared a look with Bear. "We take him back to Mother Base. I'm sure their have fun gutting the war machine that tried to put them all in their graves." Rabbit added to the duo.
Owl finally picked up his rifle and took up a guard position at the door. He was finally ready to get back to combat with Dingo and his group. Dingo was a traitor to Owl and Void Wing.
They'd treat him as such. Owl was also aware Miller was no interrogation expert like Revolver Ocelot. Still? Dingo would crack, maybe it took a little more time then usual? But he'd crack.
"Bear, other side." Owl stated as Bear took the other side of the door. Both soldiers peered around the entrance way.
Nothing, it was starting to scare Owl how good Dingo was at hiding from them and Void Wing. Owl wasn't even sure how long Dingo had been a double agent. He did know that if they didn't find him? Dingo would be getting his hands on the most dangerous weapon on Earth.
"Boss, I've finally found something." Rabbit stated before Dingo turned to look at the soldier.
Both he and Bear raised their eyebrows. They didn't mistrust Rabbit on finding something. It was still baffling how they managed to get this far.
"The Metal Gear?" Owl questioned and got a nod from Rabbit. "Then open the doors and let's go." Owl ordered his subordinate.
Author notes
Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that Owl and Wolf will be fighting together soon. Next chapter will be in 1-2 weeks and will show Owl's team in another fight with Dingo's over Metal Gear. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: The story still has 900-word chapters and Frogs might be coming soon down the road.
