Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Sins of the Father. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Metal Gear, Konami, Hideo Kojima and a few others do.

Owl was quite done by now. This mission had devolved into nothing more then common gunfights and betrayal. The last thing that Owl wanted as a shootout with a small army of soldiers that would continue to try and kill him.

At this point? This mission had gone from a stealth mission to a full-blown fight. The only grace about this mission that made him happy? There was NO way the government would allow information of this op to be seen in the light of day. It would be political suicide.

"Tell command about this, we're leaving." Owl stated and rubbed at his temples. "The next time we get sent into a Warfield? They should have an army waiting alongside it." Owl muttered as he questioned when Pequod would arrive.

Dingo's betrayal was something he hadn't seen coming. The man was someone he cared about. Owl thought everyone was focused on the mission. Now he had to know who Dingo was working for. The Diamond Dogs were compromised, something that Owl didn't once consider worth it. They couldn't scuttle what they salvaged. Starting from scratch would cripple them, DD would never operate in an official capacity again.

Then again? Owl doubted Miller cared much about the state of his group. The mission came first, it would always come first to their lives.

"And what do we tell him about the hound?" Bear asked which caused Owl to frown.

He knew the man was referring to Wolf. It couldn't be anyone else. This place was not their home. That had been taken away by war… Just like how none of the squad knew of a home besides each other.

"Wolf is coming with us." Owl said and frowned as he turned. "We're done here. We secured the objective, denied the enemy use of it… There is nothing in this place but nightmares." Owl said and hummed while looking up at the snow overhead.

It felt off. There was a bad omen with their death when it came to it. Owl wanted to be done from this place, putting this place and its horrid nightmares behind him.

"Do you think she'll fit in?" Rabbit asked and got a hum before he turned to the side. "There is no room in our slice of the world. Nothing but void." Rabbit put in as Owl shook his head.

They were Void Wing. Owl and his men lived within the void that life held. He knew for a fact that they had room for dozens of soldiers. Void Wing was the home of broken and disgraced soldiers that had no home anywhere else.

"We have room for anyone who's been dumped out into the garbage." Owl said and turned to wait for their evac to arrive. "And when we get home? We figure out how far Dingo was working before he tried to sabotage our group." Owl said while clenching his fist.

Owl wanted nothing more then to see Dingo dying in the snow. Was that morbid? Yes? But he wanted him to die for his sins. Dingo had set them up to fail. He guaranteed they had only gotten so far so Dingo had disposable pawns to use for his group. It disgusted him.

"Dingo's probably long gone by now." Owl heard from Rabbit. "With DD coming in? He has nothing left and his superiors probably didn't want an all-out war for control of Sahelanthropus. Next time he show's up? Dingo will probably have one less arm and a broken eye for daring to screw up. I would expect nothing mess then the hell that he had put us through." Rabbit added as the roar of a helicopter started to come into hearing.

"Dust, what's your position?" Owl questioned and cracked his fingers. "We're preparing to evac. Bring the high value target back. I don't think we're going to get our secondary target or such… There will be other opportunities." Owl said and shook his head.

He knew very well that there would be work to do when they returned. Miller would go over everything, put together a debrief. Owl didn't expect much field work for a while. Void Wing was only supposed to handle the most high-risk missions. Missions the rest of DD wouldn't touch for various reasons.

This mission was a cluster bomb in his mind. It had to be erased, buried under more work at the moment and thrown into the deep end of life and death. Owl doubted this blot upon them would ever be fully expunged from their life.

Then again? He would not forget it anytime soon. Nothing would fully scrub it from their records.

The helicopter finally started to come into view. The helicopter kicked up snow into their faces. He brushed it out of his face and hummed as he looked around with amusement.
