Thank you to everyone who has been reading so far.

To AwesomeMan327: If you go back and watch the beginning of the series, it's hard to call Izuku's actions "focusing on his mind". Secondly, Tekuno didn't know Izuku's situation, and even if he did, he would probably just say, "So you didn't start working to become a hero until there was a quirk in it for you." That said, he's not going to be like that forever as will be shown in this chapter.

Now, onward to the story.

The day after the battle training was an interesting one. It started with Tekuno approaching UA's front gate. He was immediately swarmed by the press.

"Are you one of the hero course students?" One asked.

"Tell us what it's like having All Might as a teacher." Another demanded.

Tekuno sighed, he should have seen something like this coming. He said nothing, pulling out his phone and sending a signal to all nearby computer equipment, causing all of it to restart. The press around him got distracted, checking on all of their devices, and Tekuno took the opportunity to slip past the gates. After making it to the class 1-A homeroom, he waited for class to start. When it did, he got his second, though not as big as some of the others, surprise.

"Alright class, it's time for you to pick a class president." Aizawa muttered, slipping into his sleeping bag.

'Well shit, guess UA does do normal school stuff.' Tekuno thought, as the class went nuts, everyone trying to call dibs on the president role.

"What about you Tekuno?" Yaoyorozu whispered to him, "Are you interested in the role?"

Tekuno gave her a small smile, "Nah, I don't have the patience for it." He told her.

She nodded, getting where he was coming from. After a few more minutes, the class agreed to put it up to a vote. At Ida's suggestion of course. 'It's not a great idea,' Tekuno thought to himself, 'but it's probably the best we have.' He didn't have to think about it and wrote down Yaoyorozu's name to put in the pile. When the voting was over, Midoriya was elected president with Yaoyorozu the vice president. Watching Midoriya stammer and stutter his way through accepting his roll, Tekuno put his head in his hands. 'He's not gonna last a day.' He thought.

They went to lunch where the third shock of the day would occur. Tekuno found his usual seat with Yaoyorozu, Kaminari and Jirou. It consisted mostly of the usual chatter, until the alarms went off. All Tekuno heard among the commotion was something about a level three emergency, which an upperclassman relayed was a break in. Hearing that, Tekuno shrugged and went back to his lunch. His friends looked at him in shock.

"What are you doing, Tekuno?" Jirou asked incredulously.

"We're safer here than anywhere else." He told them.

"WHAT!?" They all shouted.

"UA is a building with multiple, well renowned pro heroes. There are only two types of people who would break in. Amateur crackheads and professionals." He explained. "If it's amateurs, they're not gonna get too far with all the heroes here. As for professionals, I can only think of one reason they'd take a risk like this."

"What is it?" Kaminari asked.

"Odds are, someone wants info on All Might that they can use to make a name for themselves among criminals." His friend's expressions widened.

"Wait, but how does that make the cafeteria the safest place for us?" Kaminari asked.

"Simple," Tekuno said, grinning when he noticed Yaoyorozu catching on. "Whatever they're looking for, they won't find it here."

His friends thought about it for a minute, then shrugged, sat back down and got back to their lunch. A few minutes later it turned out to be a false alarm and the press had just gotten too out of control. It seemed Ida was the one who calmed everyone down, and when they got back to class, Midoriya gave the reins over to him. Somehow, the fact that it was only concerned Tekuno. 'No journalist is dumb enough to commit a crime just for a fluff piece on All Might.' Tekuno thought to himself. 'Someone wanted us to think that.' After school that day, he relayed his concerns to Aizawa who told him it would be handled.

The next day was when shit really hit the fan and Tekuno's hero career was nearly cut short. They were heading to an undisclosed location on the campus to start their rescue training, taught to them by Aizawa, 13 and All Might. They all filed onto the bus, Tekuno sitting with Kaminari across from Yaoyorozu and Jirou. The conversation shifted when Asui pointed out that Midoriya's quirk was similar to All Might's.

"Wha- no, it's not li-" Midoriya started.

"Yeah, but All Might doesn't hurt himself." The red haired guy, Kirishima added, to Midoriya's relief. He continued, "Though still, it's better than my quirk. My hardening's good and all, but it's not gonna get much attention as a pro."

As Midoriya tried to console him, Tekuno threw in his two cents, "Trust me, if you have to choose between effective and flashy, always choose effective." He told him.

Kirishima smiled, "If we're talking about pro material quirks, that's definitely Todoroki and Bakugou." He pointed out.

"Yeah, but I don't think Bakugou would be too popular, considering he's always angry." Asui added.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?" Bakugou shouted.

Kaminari grinned and Tekuno knew his friend was about to say something stupid, "You know, we only just met you, so it's kind of telling that we all know your personality is trash." He said.

As Bakugou started shouting, Tekuno figured he should jump in before someone got killed, or worse, he got a massive headache from Bakugou, again. "All right, let me settle this. Bakugou, your catchphrase is DIE." Tekuno told him.

Bakugou rounded on him, "Oh yeah? And what makes you think you'll do any better than me you quirkless geek?" He demanded.

"I mean, the first quirkless hero would be kind of a big deal." Ashido pointed out.

Tekuno smirked, "Both of those statements would have validity to them if I weren't planning to go underground." He explained.

Kaminari turned to him, "Hey, I've been meaning to ask you. Why did you want to become a hero anyway?" He asked.

Memories of Kuno flooded Tekuno's mind. He thought about long nights spent coming up with ideas for gadgets to help her. The times they'd watch their favorite heroes on TV. He shook his head, trying to clear his mind. "I'd rather not talk about it." He muttered.

"Dude, you have to have some kind of stor-" Kaminari tried fishing for it.

"I SAID I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT." Tekuno snapped.

The rest of the ride was spent in a bit of an awkward silence and was, thankfully, short. Tekuno felt bad for that response. He figured once he cooled down he'd apologize to Kaminari. They got off the bus and were led into the Unforeseen Simulation Joint by 13 and Aizawa.

'All Might was supposed to be here too.' Tekuno thought. 'Wonder where he is.'

He saw Aizawa talking about it to 13, who held up three fingers. Tekuno wondered what it was supposed to mean, but he didn't have much time as their teachers had opted to teach the class as is. 13 introduced herself to the class and explained the purpose of the day's training, as well as how dangerous quirks can be and how to handle them safely.

'Don't need to tell me that.' Tekuno thought, glancing at Bakugou.

Before the class could begin their rescue training, the lights flickered and a portal started appearing by the fountain in the plaza ahead of them. Tekuno pulled out his phone to send a distress signal, but his signal was being cut off. Tekuno watched the people coming from the portals that were forming and he didn't need to listen to Aizawa, he knew these were villains all right.

"The only heroes here are 13 and Eraserhead." A voice spoke from an unknown source, "Perplexing. According to the schedule we retrieved from UA, All Might should be here as well." The voice revealed itself, appearing to be a creature made out of some kind of dark mist.

'So the break in was for info.' Tekuno thought. 'Still, this is kind of a bold move even with these numbers. They're not exactly on their home turf here.'

"Where is he?" This time the villain with the hands all over his body spoke up. "We went to the trouble of bringing so many friends who are eager to meet him. They want All Might, the great symbol of peace. I can't believe he's not here. Maybe if I kill a few kids he'll come out to play."

Tekuno could tell by his casual attitude about it that he wasn't bluffing. If they couldn't get a signal out they may be in trouble. The rest of his classmates were justifiably nervous.

"How could so many villains enter a UA facility?" Kirishima asked.

"Yeah, 13, why aren't the alarms going off?" Yaoyorozu added.

Tekuno sighed, "Do you really have to ask?" He threw out, rhetorically. "They came with the intention of taking All Might's head. Do you really think they wouldn't have cut off the alarms?" His classmates gasped and he continued, "I already checked, all signals going out, and no doubt coming in as well, have been cut. Until somebody can get to the main campus and tell the teachers what's goin on, we're on our own."

Aizawa nodded, having tried to contact the main campus himself. "Tekuno's right. 13, stay with the students." He ordered, "Try to get one of them out to the campus. I'll hold back the villains."

"But Sensei," Midoriya said, nervously. "You work best in one-on-one fights and stealth. This isn't a good matchup for you."

Tekuno rolled his eyes, "If that was all he could do, Midoriya, he wouldn't be here." He explained. Just like a vigilante, a hero doesn't last a day as a one trick pony.

Aizawa jumped to the plaza and started fighting the villains, holding them off like it was just another day at the office. As 13 led the class to the doors, Tekuno dropped a shock mine in case one of the villains tried to follow them. On their way to the door however, they were cut off by the mist guy who appeared right in front of him.

'So he must be how they got in.' Tekuno thought.

"There is no escape for you." He told the class. "It's a pleasure to meet you. We are the League of Villains. I know it's impolite, but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say hello. Besides, isn't this a fitting place for All Might, the symbol of peace, to take his last breath? I believe he was supposed to be here today, and yet, I see no sign of him. There must have been some sort of change of plans. Ah, well, I suppose it doesn't matter, I still have a role to play."

As he said this, some of Tekuno's classmates gasped, while 13 prepared to use her quirk. However, Bakugou and Kirishima chose to charge him head on.

"WAIT, DON'T!" Tekuno shouted, but they didn't listen. Just as Tekuno thought, their attacks didn't work on him.

"You live up to your school's reputation, children, but you should be careful. Otherwise, someone might get hurt." The mist spoke.

"Get out of the way, you two." 13 told them.

Before she could do anything though, the mist guy started to expand. "I'll scatter you across this facility to meet my comrades and your death." He told them.

With that, they were all surrounded by the mist. Tekuno coughed, the mist almost choking him, and pulled up his mask. He was blinded by the darkness, and the next minute, he fell into a giant pool. He dropped several feet before he finally got his bearings, then, he immediately started swimming to the surface. Someone with an octopus-like body tried to grab him, Asui saved him in the nick of time. She then found Midoriya, about to be attacked by a shark villain, and saved him as well. When she finally got to the water's surface, she dropped them on the ship and then climbed up herself.

Tekuno started checking all his equipment. Fortunately, nothing was damaged. 'Thank God for waterproof casing.' He thought.

"Thanks for the save, Asui." Midoriya said.

"I told you to call me Tsuyu." She responded. Midoriya started apologizing and Asui sighed, "This is turning out to be a terrible day of class." She muttered.

"No use complaining about it." Tekuno spoke up and the other two turned to look at him. "Right now we have to figure out how to get out of our current position."

"I suppose you have a plan?" Asui asked.

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I've got nothing." He said, looking over the side of the ship. "There are at least twenty villains in the water. That's not accounting for any villains we'd run into on land. I only have three shock grenades and five charges for my stun gun. The grenades may pack a punch, but they only have a range of two feet. As for the stun gun, it's too risky, what with the ship's rocking and the villains' agility. Lastly are my stun batons, and I think it's obvious why that's a bad idea." He explained.

"What about the ship?" Midoriya asked.

"What about it?" Tekuno asked.

"Well, this is one of the simulation areas." Midoriya explained. "This ship is probably controlled by a computer."

Tekuno stared at him for a minute. 'So there is a brain in there.' He thought. 'And all this time I thought you were just a lucky idiot.' "That's actually a good idea." He told Midoriya. "I'm going in to see if I can find a control panel. If the villains start climbing on board, cover me guys."

Midoriya and Asui nodded and Tekuno started searching the ship. He finally found the control panel, not by the helm, but under the deck in a small compartment. He opened the panel and connected his laptop to it, getting ready to take control of the ship. After getting past the firewalls and running his decryption codes, he had access to all the ship's functions. By this point, the villains in the water were attacking the ship, trying to crack its hull.

'These ones are smart.' Tekuno thought in annoyance.

The issue was, with the League of Villains' fuckery, the ship didn't have enough power to get them to shore fast enough. Tekuno let his head fall back against the wall while desperately trying to think of a solution. As the ship was slammed into again, Tekuno stumbled back, one of his grenades falling out of his bag. Noticing that, however, gave him a plan. If he could rewire the grenade to the ship's main power supply, he might have enough juice to get them to shore. He found the power supply and quickly disconnected the trigger wires and reconnected them to the input and output wires.

He got back to his laptop and readied the ship to go. It hummed to life and he called up to his classmates, "YOU GUYS BETTER HANG ON TO SOMETHING!"

'I hope this works.' Tekuno crossed his fingers and put the ship to max speed. It practically flew to the shore, pushing itself several feet past the edge of the water. Tekuno disconnected his laptop and as he got ready to exit, he saw smoking coming from the power supply. 'Shit.' He ran up to the deck and shouted to his classmates, "GET OFF THE SHIP, NOW!"

They jumped off the ship and ran a decent distance from it. The villains tried to follow them, but as they climbed onto the shore, the ship blew up in a giant ball of flames, knocking everyone back. The three hero students got up, Asui and Midoriya looking to see what happened to the villains.

"Don't look." Tekuno told them. He knew whatever sight was there, it wasn't a pretty one. He turned to Midoriya, "Gotta hand it to you, that was some pretty quick thinking." He told him.

Midoriya held up his hands and started muttering, "I didn't do anything though. That was all you."

"Just take the damn compliment." Tekuno groaned.

They started making their way back to the plaza, noticing the commotion in the distance on the way.

"I don't know how long Aizawa Sensei can hold out." Midoriya said, "He may be a skilled fighter, but against so many villains he's eventually going to wear himself out."

"What, are you suggesting we jump into the fray?" Tekuno asked.

"No," Midoriya answered, "That's too risky with so many unknown quirks. But maybe we can somehow pick off a few of them from a distance."

Tekuno stared at Midoriya, surprised. 'Something's changed about you, Midoriya.' He thought, 'Used to be you'd just jump into a fight without a second thought. Now, you're actually using your head.'

When they finally got to the plaza, Aizawa was still holding his own against the villains. Something wasn't right though, Tekuno had caught on to when his teacher was and wasn't using his quirk. Every time he used it, his hair stood up. Right now, his hair was standing up at shortening intervals with longer pauses.

'Aizawa Sensei's overusing his quirk. At this rate, it's gonna wreck his eyes.' Tekuno thought as the hand covered villain repeated his thoughts, while grabbing Aizawa's arm, causing it to crumble. Said villain pointed to what could only be described as a monster.

"By the way, Eraserhead, I'm not the final boss." He told him.

The monster started pummeling Aizawa . It wasn't even a fight now, it was more akin to a bloodbath. Hit after hit after hit and Aizawa couldn't do anything. Even worse, there were still a few villains left standing. The only thing Tekuno knew was that someone had to stop this thing. Tekuno scanned the monster up and down, looking for any kind of weakness, before his eyes landed on its head.

'Is that?' He thought, 'No. They can't be that stupid.' He looked closer and confirmed his suspicions. The creature's fucking brain was exposed.

"What do you think, Eraserhead?" The hand villain asked. "He's the bioengineered weapon designed to kill the symbol of peace, but you can call him Nomu."

As Nomu continued to beat their teacher, the mist guy showed up.

"Tomura Shigaraki." He addressed the hand guy.

"Kurogiri," Shigaraki responded. "Did you deal with 13?" He asked.

"The rescue hero has been taken care of, but one of the students got away." Kurogiri explained.

'Good. One of our classmates is getting backup. Still, I don't know how much longer Aizawa Sensei can hold out. This is the best time to try my plan, while they're distracted.' He thought. He turned to Midoriya and Asui and told them, "Alright, I have an idea. Midoriya, cover the hand guy. With the burst of energy your quirk puts out, you're the only one who can keep him at bay without him touching you. Asui, cover me while I get to Nomu."

After he explained his plan, Midoriya nodded and Asui lightly whacked him with her tongue.

"Call me Tsu." She said, sternly. "But okay."

The three started moving, Midoriya getting Shigaraki's and Kurogiri's attention on him and away from his classmates. Tekuno and Asui, weaved through the remaining villains, Asui cutting off anyone that got in Tekuno's way. One particularly large villain that looked like a rhinoceros got in front of them to stop them. Asui, er, Tsuyu jumped high while Tekuno slid under him. Tekuno pulled out his stun baton and jabbed it straight into the villain's crotch at max voltage after Tsuyu sent a kick at his throat. The villain fell to the ground unconscious. The whole time, Nomu didn't take notice of them and kept its focus on Aizawa.

'It must not be able to multitask.' Tekuno thought, jumping up to the back of its shoulders. 'That just works even better for me.'

Landing on Nomu's shoulders, Tekuno steadied himself and threw a right hook at its exposed brain with as much strength as he could muster. With a shriek of pain, the Nomu went limp crumpled to the ground. Tekuno and Tsuyu quickly pulled it off of Aizawa's body.

"NOMU!" Tekuno turned to see Shigaraki looking at him, and if he didn't have hands covering his face, it would've shown a look of pure shock. "CHEATER!" Shigaraki shouted, charging at Tekuno.

Tekuno pulled out his stun gun and fired a shot at Shigaraki. It slowed him down, but due to adrenaline, it didn't stop him. He tried to grab Tekuno's throat, but Tekuno was faster. He pulled out his stun baton and jammed it straight into Shigaraki's chest, only taking one second to turn down the voltage setting. Shigaraki fell to the ground unconscious. That was two of the major threats down, but if they wanted to make sure the villains were captured,

"SOMEONE STOP THE MIST GUY!" He shouted, but he was too late.

A misty portal formed around Shigaraki and Nomu and in a blink of an eye, they were gone. At that point the doors burst open.

"I AM HEre?" All Might looked around confused, before seeing the state of 13 and Aizawa, as well as three of his students in the plaza appearing to be completely exhausted. He looked down, ashamed of himself, "I'm so sorry." He apologized to the students of class 1-A that were present, "My tardiness put you all in danger and you've had to face something like this so early on."

After all the students were located and the rest of the villains were rounded up, the police and EMTs arrived to clean things up. After the police finished questioning Tekuno, he sat down by the steps in front of the building and put his head in his hands.

'There goes my hero career.' He thought dejectedly. 'No way Mom and Dad will let me continue after this. I won't be surprised if they want to pull me out of UA entirely.'

"What's wrong with you?" Tekuno looked up and saw Yaoyorozu standing in front of him. "For someone who just took down something designed to kill All Might, you certainly don't look like it."

Tekuno chuckled, "It's not that. I just have a feeling my parents are gonna pull me from the hero course after this." He told her, looking back down.

Yaoyorozu sat down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Why's that?" She asked.

Tekuno sighed, "Remember on the bus, how I didn't want to talk about my reason for becoming a hero?" He asked her. She nodded, so he continued. "Let's just say it has to do with that."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Yaoyorozu asked.

Tekuno didn't know why, but he told her all about his sister. How she had wanted to be a hero and died in training, what that did to his parents and finally, how he wanted to become a hero in her memory and the agreement it took to make it. They remained silent for a minute.

"What was she like?" Yaoyorozu asked. "Your sister, I mean."

"She was a total badass. She had this awesome quirk called Combo. It caused each consecutive hit she landed to double in strength and if her combo got high enough, she could be as strong as All Might. She was always challenging me to fight her and she kicked my ass every time. But there was this one time, when I managed to beat her. I accused her of going easy on me and she told me that the day she went easy on me would be the day she quit trying to be a hero. I don't know, to this day, I still think she was lying."

Yaoyorozu smiled, "She seems like she was a great sister."

Tekuno smiled back. "Yeah, she was. Thanks, Yaoyorozu. That actually helped."

"Still though," Yaoyorozu spoke up, "The deal was only that you don't get hurt, not that you don't get attacked. Not only are you okay, you took down two of the leading villains."

"Okay." Tekuno said, not sure where she was going.

"I'm just saying, you have a pretty good case to stay in the hero course," She told him. After that, they sat in silence for a bit. Tekuno didn't know what would happen when he got home, so he wanted to enjoy this for as long as possible.
