As I celebrated, the mother of all headaches crashed into me, and my clothes get wet with green tea as my cursed energy almost completely peters out, leaving a small trickle still circulating throughout my body
Clutching my head, I asked Gojo what just happened.
"You did something interesting on accident. Which I blocked."
"Are you going to tell me what it is?" I gritted through my teeth.
"Hmmm... nope," Gojo said. "You not ready for that yet."
"Why not?"
"Can you fight?"
"Kinda."
"Are you good at parkour or free running?"
"...no."
"Can you compress cursed energy into a beam and shoot it?"
"That sounds unbelievably hard."
"It is, which makes me mad when it's the starter for literally everything in manga. But that's neither here nor there.
"Can you flare your cursed energy? Maybe amplify it in some areas? Drop a curtain? Simple domain? That emotionless-rose-bull those bastard zenin-hooo..."
"Point taken." I sighed as I continued walking to school."
"Y know, you should be grateful. I didn't learn how to fight until much later in life since I didn't have to. I was simply that guy after all, and nothing could stop me... until I met Geto.
"I had run into him while training. It was my first session. I had told my parents that I wouldn't train if they couldn't find me anyone close to my level. I had also trashed the instructor on many levels.
"When they brought him, I thought it was a bad joke, or that what happened next was going to be fun. Later, he would tell me that it was fun. That is, beating the brakes off of me for four and a half minutes.
"I learned weakness that day, and never badmouthed the instructor again," Gojo said with a chuckle.
"The point is with a power like that, pride seems to be as sure as the changing tides. I can't have that from someone who just knows how to do the technique and nothing else."
"Why not? Heroes fight like that all the time, it's perfectly rational. Even the top ones do it." I said as I made my way into the school.
"Well, they're all trash then." Gojo deadpanned as I was swallowing spit, leading to me choking on it for a good second.
"Do-"don't you dare say that about All Might!
"It's true though. They'd probably lose most of their fights without their quirk."
Would you learn hand-to-hand if you could turn into a dragon?
"Transformation quirks are the exception that proves the rule. The majority would be much better off learning physical techniques to get to at least peak human level or to get more use from their quirks. Like...All Might would be so much better of a hero if he could throw hands."
...I guess you're right.
"I'm always right."
The completely unnecessary prep you did for training reasons that led to me getting banned from mom's phone says otherwise.
"Hush."
As I walked into school, I noticed that people were looking at me weirdly. Almost like they were pitying me. Some even talked to me, saying that they wished they could have gotten to know me more.
It was all very concerning, and it came to a fever pitch when someone with a cross necklace said that they would be paying for me and my family.
At that point, I just decided to corner Bakugo at lunch.
"What are you planning?"
"What?"
"Someone I never met that goes to this school and has never talked about me or to me before today just say that they would be praying for my family."
"...Ok, and?"
"People only say that when they feel like you're going to die," I said, getting agitated. I reached for my cursed energy, only to see that it had gone out sometime in the day. I started circulating again.
"Maybe you look like you're going to die, then. You have been looking paler, after all." Bakugo turned back to his sandwich and continued eating.
"Are your friends trying to kill me?" I said, my voice strained as I fought the urge to punch him.
"I don't know, ask them. I haven't talked to them since you came back to school. I got new friends now."
"I don't believe you for a second," I said as my fist clenched, a dim blue becoming much starker around my fist as time went on.
"You don't have to," Bakugo said with a smirk as he wiped his mouth of sauce and stood up. "I wouldn't tell you regardless."
I brought my fist down on the table in frustration. It cracked, my fist leaving a hole where it had been. Everyone snapped their head's towards our table as Bakugo jumped back into his chair, evidently startled by my newfound strength, though he quickly recovered and flared his power as well.
"Look, I don't feel like fighting or antagonizing you, with that scar on your face and all that. But... look bruh,"
Suddenly he lashed out, which I dodged. As I went for a counter, Bakugo parried with enough force to send sparks down and up my arm, punched me in the face, then suddenly appeared behind me to take out my legs to grab me in the back of my neck.
"I'm just trying to leave lunch and you're mad that I'm not snitching on my friends." He said with that familiar blãse attitude as he let me go to the floor.
"Because you're oh-so loyal to your friends aren't you, Kacchan?"
He froze for a moment. Then kept walking, leaving me behind with a broken table and curdled memories.
I got about what I expected within the gates after school.
Ten children were waiting for me, All seeming to be around the level of the two revived miscarriages standing with a smirk on their abortion-survivor faces.
A flashback.
"I'll become the strongest hero ever!"
"And I'll be your sidekick!"
"Nah, you'll be my number 2!"
The guys charge at me. I kick the first to make it to me in the chest, cursed energy flaring. The wind goes out of him and he collapses.
The next to get there at around the same time, one ten-year-old encasing his fist in flames as he swings wildly at me. I weave out of the way, then roll away as the second shoots what I can only assume to be bullets at my face.
"Wow Bakugo, you learned how to write so fast!"
"Yep! And to celebrate this, I'm giving everyone nicknames!"
Someone grabbed me. As I struggled, the flame-fist guy punched me five times, leaving me winded. Then both leaped back as the dart circled back, hitting my neck.
"Izuku, your nickname's Deku. It means useless! Since you're quirkless and all."
I fought to stay up as the wing guy grabbed me. I grabbed him by his throat and, turning around, slammed him into the pavement, before stomping his chest. Cracks were heard both of those times.
"Though I'm sure you'll get it soon."
The dart hit me again, and I started seeing dark spots in my vision, stumbling as the sixth guy with horns charged me. I stooped down and he tripped over me, flopping onto unplanned parenthood number 1. As I went to kick him in the head, fire-fist punched me in the side, making me almost lose my already slipping hold on my cursed energy.
"Get out of my way, Deku. I have business with him."
I noticed that I was using too much energy as I punched the fire-fist guy in the face and he flew back, nose oozing blood. As he hit the gate-20 meters away- I then jumped towards dart man with a flying knee, but all I got for my troubles were a dart in the face, sending me to the ground.
"Why are you so useless, Deku?"
I was being grabbed again. I headed him with the back of my skull then stomped on his feet, jumping out the way as guy seven joined the fray and put his friend out of commission for me.
I put the memories to the side, before boxing them completely. I could think about that later. I just needed to focus on fighting. Screw the cost. They came to jump me.
They deserve it all.
I'm not falling until they do.
My cursed energy seemed to respond to this, streamlining and overcharging as I grabbed got seven and threw him at dart man. As he dodged his friend, I was there, punching his temple. He got one on me before passing out though. As guy seven got up, he darted out of reach, before dashing me. Super speed.
I jumped out of the way as guy eight with a little league bat broke it over my head. I went to a knee, bleeding from my head as the sprinter guy dashed to me, first out. I grabbed his hand and squeezed.
As he cried out, I dodged the hilt of the bat before throwing sprint guy over my head, hitting batman.
I kicked batman's head for good measure, then stomped on the sprinter guy. Blood from my head went into my eye as I looked at the other guys.
I amplified my cursed energy as I charged them. One of them was pretty good at fighting, hitting my injured side, and almost put out my eyes. Almost.
I went low and tackled him. I went to end him and he started crying. I stopped. I got up and stomped his stomach, then turned to the last one. He was running.
I sprinted to him, then kicked him in the back, and he stopped running as he tumbled through the gates, to the sidewalk.
I all but collapsed as I registered that there was no one left to fight. Memories flooded my mind.
"Know your place, Deku! Can't hang out with the top when you're naturally at the bottom."
"You weren't wrong, Bakugo," I mused as I struggled to my feet, the people that hadn't left still there looking at me in amazement. "You just had the order switched. Well...maybe you realized, and that's why you left them."
Walking over to primitive man's retard child, aka unplanned parenthood number 1, I grabbed him and lifted him up.
"If I'm the bottom, let it be known," I yelled to the crowd as I lifted him. "People like this... thing," I threw him down, not for dramatic affect, but because I physically couldn't lift him for long but didn't want to drop him."Are below me.
Was it pride? Probably, yeah. Screw being humble, though, not after this.
"Understand that, and act accordingly." I said as I stumbled through the gates. My leg might've gotten damaged from dart man.
I don't remember how I got home, just that I did. I cleaned up nice enough before getting there to be able to conceivably blame my injuries on falling down several stairs as they had been cleaning the floor, leading to me slipping down a few flights.
Gojo said something about bonding-binding vows, but I didn't hear it. I was so tired.
I went to sleep as soon as I hit my bed.
