The Bunny And The Dragon
Chapter 7
Trains and Motion Sickness
Where the hell is he? I ask myself, looking around the crowded train station for the pink-haired idiot who is my partner. My partner who is about to miss the train. It's leaving in five minutes? He is the one who was so insistent on going on this mission in the first place.
"Lucy," I hear my name faintly being called in the distance.
I turn to see Natsu running towards me with that annoying, unbashful, and happy smile of his on his face. Happy is flying right beside him with, surprise surprise, a fish in his hands. Happy suddenly flies in front of Natsu and stops in front of him. Natsu stops running towards me as well, as not to run into him. Happy leans in and whispers something into his ear. To whatever he said, Natsu gives him a nod in response. Happy's face seems to light up, and with a grateful nod to Natsu, he dashes out the way he came, fish still in hand, leaving Natsu by himself. After Natsu could discern that happy made it out safely, he continues his way over to me.
When he reaches me, I blow up. "Why are you late," I yell at him loudly, causing some of the pedestrians near us to give us a weird look before turning back to whatever they were doing before.
I was eating, and I lost track of the time," he says easily, seeing absolutely nothing wrong with what he just said.
I take a couple of deep breaths trying to calm myself down. When I find myself reasonably calmed down, I start talking. "So you thought it would be a good idea to pig out before you got on a train," I ask him slowly, as though he is stupid, which he is. "You, who always gets motion sickness when you get on a train or anything that moves," I say getting louder by the end, as I get angry again. How can he be so stupid!? Why can't he think things through for once!?
"Yes," he says stupidly without even a hint of hesitance, not blinking.
I sweat drop. The stupid idiot still doesn't know what he did wrong! "Natsu," I say in exasperation.
"What," he says confused.
I really want to yell at him again and choke that stupid confused look off his face, but I don't because I know there it is no use. I just sigh and change the subject. "Where is Happy," I ask curiously, remembering the scene from earlier.
"Oh, he said he he'd rather stay with Charlie this time, he also said something about having to give her a fish," he said carelessly, I note with some curiosity. You would think that he would be at least a little disappointed that his buddy isn't coming. Oh well, it's not important.
"Okay, then why don't we go board the train now," I say, sending a quick glance to where everyone is now boarding the train that will depot any minute now.
"You know what I was thinking," Natsu says, throwing his arms around my shoulder. "We should walk to the site of the mission so we can save up our money. You are always complaining about not having enough money," he says cheerily, like he just had the best idea ever. He was subtly using the arm he has around my shoulder to push me forward and away from the platform.
Trying to save money my butt! He doesn't care about the money; he just doesn't want to board the train! Who does he think he is fooling!? I am the smart one here. I can't be fooled be him.
I give him my famous Lucy glare, the one in which I am told can rival Erza's, and grab his ear "We are boarding that train whether you like it or not," I say in a low threatening voice. I start walking to the train with my stuff in one hand and his ear in my other hand. He stumbles behind me, mumbling snuffed oaths and ow's under his breath as I pull him by his ear. I ignore the weird look's I am getting from other's and drag him onto the train where I then proceed to plop myself down onto a seat, forcing Natsu down with me. Only then did I let him go.
"Lucy, that hurt," he says petulantly, rubbing his ear, pouting.
"You'll live," I say unrepentantly, rolling my eyes.
"You're so mean," he says in a wining, childlike voice.
I just ignore him and allow myself to get comfortable. Thankfully we have a private section of the train and have the whole compartment to ourselves. We don't have to worry about bothering anybody. No one else but me has to listen to Natsu's insentient moaning and groaning.
I feel the train starting to move. I immediately hear a moan in response, and I sigh. It has started.
I look over to Natsu and see him green in the face, sweat glistening on his face, body shaking, cheeks puffed as if trying to hold in his puke. He truly looks pitiful. It is quite pathetic. If only all the people he has beaten could see him now. They would either laugh at him or think worse of themselves, thinking how could I have possibly of lost to this pathetic loser.
I sigh and decide to take pity on him. "Come here Natsu,' I say, waving him towards me. "You can lie on my lap," I say kindly.
He looks at me as if to discern my truthfulness, and seeing nothing but sincerity on my face, he complies. When he finally gets to me, slowly in his sick stupor, I pull his head down onto my lap.
"Are you comfortable," I ask worriedly, fretting over him like a mother hen and her young.
I feel him nod in response, wisely not saying anything so he won't accidently puke on me. That would be all kinds of nasty and I would have to kill him. I look down to him pink hair and I feel a strong urge to run my fingers through them. The urge just gets stronger and stronger until I can't hold back any longer and I tentatively run my hands through his hair.
His hair is so soft, I muse to myself. Seeing this as a rare opportunity, I keep stoking his hair and playing with it. Though I would never admit it out loud, I really like Natsu's hair, I think it suits him. Some people may laugh at him for having pink hair, but is unique and nice to look at, not boring like a bunch of people's hair. Plus, pink is my favorite color. As thy say, only a true man wears pink, or in Natsu's case has pink hair.
I continue to play with Natsu's hair until we reach our desired destination. I didn't hear one peep out of him the whole time. Though I could have sworn I heard him softly purr in pleasure once. I wave it off as my imagination, thinking it was too animalistic of a noise to be his.
Oh, the poor bunny forgot that this is a dragon she is talking about. The dragon enjoyed her ministrations with his hair so much that a purr managed to slip out. Oh, you poor naive bunny. If only you had looked at his face, you might have noticed the predatory grin etched on his face. The dragon didn't mind the cat leaving thought they are very close because he relished the thought of being alone with you. Oh, you poor oblivious bunny! When, oh when, will you finally catch on?
I hope you enjoyed it!
How was it? Boring? Bad? Nice?
