Daddy's Little Girl

Okay, I am VERY SORRY that I haven't updated in ages but between horse, gym and work it's been insane so I'm using my boredom over the Christmas break to update every now and then while watching Love Actually. Don't you just love Alan Rickman? If you're too young to know who he is, google and watch ALL of his movies! And when it comes to Love Actually, it really is beyond brilliant! The dancing scene and everything! Perfection!

And back to this chapter: It's nothing special, really but the next one might be fun...

Addison-fan: I really do think that they are being very mature about this but this chapter really doesn't deal with anything much, if I'd cut it and replace it with a quick summary no one would ever notice, BUT some light chitter chatter isn't bad sometimes...

LoveLastsForever: I didn't mean to make you cry! It did go well in the end and there really is absolutely no drama in this chapter.

Em: Thanks! I do suck at updating though, I really do.

MooseE: I hope you're still waiting even though you've waited ages for this chapter.

NetflixPerson01: Hmm, is it still a quick update if it's in the same year?

Titania: I am pretty sure that a guy like Derek does NOT exist in real life or he's gay. Or married. Or both...

Guest: I think they'll need some more obstacles but I am everything but creative, to be honest.

Luvaddek: I've said it before and I'll say it a million times: A guy like this Derek does not exist in real life :D unfortunately...

TheQueenofPassiveAggressiva: Sorry for the incredibly long wait! I hope you're still reading!

thecarouselneverstopsturning: Thank you :) I hope you still like Addek :) I feel like the Addek ambassador sometimes...

B: It took a while but here is more :D

Guest: Unfortunately this chapter really is nothing special, so I hope you're not that disappointed.

My Psychologist Said...

"Good." She closed her eyes, her chin now resting on his shoulder. They stood there for a few minutes, hugging in complete silence before Addison whispered, "I love you, Derek."

There it was. She had actually said it but something was wrong with this picture because Derek was just standing there, staring at her.

"Addie, are you really sure about this?" He asked soothingly. "Because you don't have to say that if you're not ready, okay?"

"Uhm… I know, but you could just say it back," but then her face fell, "unless you don't want to, which is fine, because—" But then Derek cut her off with a kiss.

"As much fun as it might be to wait for you to come up with a bunch of reasons why it would be completely fine for me not to say it back," he whispered and she nudged him softly, "I love you too, Addie." Addison smiled widely and wrapped her arms around his neck before kissing him again.

"Hey, Savvy, it's me." Addison said as her best friend answered her phone.

"Oh, I'm sorry, who is this?"

"Savannah, it's Addison and you know that." She rolled her eyes and leaned back in her office chair.

"I used to have a friend by that name."

Addison groaned and closed her eyes. "I know that I haven't called you in a few days…"

"Twelve, to be exact." Savannah huffed on the other end. "It's not that I'm not very glad that you seem to have gotten over the whole post coital crying," and now Addison could hear her friend grin on the other line, "and have apparently been having very fabulous sex which has left you unable to call your best friend…"

"Mhm, and how can I make it up to you?" Addison said, sounding less than amused about her friend's dramatic speech.

"You could tell me all about how fabulous the sex is."

"Yeah, about that…" Addison started and she knew her friend was on the edge of her seat by now, "we haven't exactly had sex again. But I actually called to invite you to Grace's party. She also wants to call you herself later this week, but I figured I'd invite you and warn you that she still wants a zebra and to tell you that that is not an appropriate gift for my little daughter." With all this information she really did hope that Savannah had already forgotten all about what she had said in that first sentence. But, of course, that was never going to happen. Sequence effect.

"I know that a zebra is not an appropriate present, Addie. But now to the other thing: You seriously haven't slept with him ever since that one time?"

"Nope… Pretty sure he's still kind of freaked out and worried that I'll cry again…"

"My psychologist said that you just might because it's—"

"Your psychologist?! Savvy, I swear to god one of these days I'll murder you!"

"Well, it's a weekly appointment and there was nothing special going on in my life, so I figured I'd just tell her about yours then. She said that you should talk to him, even before the whole afraid to have sex again."

"I really, really, really hate you sometimes."

"You love me and you know it."

"I really can't get you a zebra, Grace, I don't even know where I could buy one." Derek had tried his best to convince Grace to wish for, well, anything but a zebra, really.

"On Craigslist! Aunt Adele says people sell everything on there. I'm sure they also sell zebras." She insisted as she sat on his desk, still holding her pet zebra, Carl, tightly. "And mommy and I have a yard now so we would have a place to have the zebra and," she took a deep breath so she'd be able to continue, "if it gets really cold he could just live in my room with me."

Derek ran his fingers through his hair, she seemed to have an answer to everything, just like her mother, he thought to himself. Luckily, when he opened his mouth to say something, Addison walked into his office.

"Hey!" Grace grinned when she saw her mother. "Derek and I were going to look for zebras on Craigslist!"

Derek caught Addison's rather amused gaze and just shook his head.

"You're still not getting a zebra for your birthday, Grace, end of discussion."

"But, mommy," she pouted and crossed her arms.

"We don't have the room, the time, the climate, the stables, a proper herd, nothing. Zebras need friends and you're not a zebra, sweetheart."

"When I grow up, I'll buy a lot of zebras!" Grace huffed and got up before she left the room.

"I am honestly so excited about Grace as a teenager…" Addison said and rubbed her temples before she sat down on Derek's desk.

"Yeah, she might not be arguing about zebras but rather about boys then." He commented with a chuckle, earning a look from her.

"And now I suddenly don't feel bad that you had to have a discussion about zebras with my daughter, who never runs out of arguments, anymore."

"She really does remind me of you when she tries to make her point," another look from her, "the way she keeps talking until she runs out of air and how miraculously, for any argument you have, she has about ten replies."

"You're uninvited for dinner tonight." Addison told him and got up before she walked towards the door. Just when Derek had thought that she really was serious she turned around and gave him a grin. "I'm only joking, but I hope that'll teach you." She said smugly and left his office.

That evening Grace really had gone to bed right after dinner and without speaking another word to her mother or to Derek.

"Well, she really does have willpower…" Derek sighed and leaned against the counter as he watched his girlfriend.

"Yeah, because she desperately wants a zebra." She rolled her eyes and got up to clean the kitchen since he had already cleared the table and done most of the dishes.

"Come on, wasn't there ever anything you desperately wanted to have?"

"Yeah, a horse." She admitted.

"And weren't you disappointed when you didn't get a horse?"

"Uhm… I did get the horse." Addison said and gave him a sheepish smile. If she was completely honest she had always gotten most things she had wanted, especially the ones money could buy…

"Spoiled," Derek coughed, trying to lighten the mood and actually succeeding because she had to laugh as well.

Later that night the two of them were on the sofa, a movie on in the background but ever since Addison had decided that the movie was far too boring and she really would rather kiss her boyfriend neither of them had looked at the TV again. Her fingers were lost in his deep brown curls as he rolled them over so that he was now on top of her as his fingertips brushed along the exposed skin between the waistband of her pants and her shirt. A moan of approval left her lips when his hands wandered up further and she could feel her entire skin burn ad tingle in anticipation. Just as she had shed his shirt and had started kissing his neck he pulled away and she gave a confused look.

"I should go…" And there it was: This was exactly what he had said every time they had gotten pretty much to this exact same point and by now Addison was really starting to get a bit frustrated. Okay, a lot frustrated.

"Are you seriously avoiding sleeping with me?" She blurted out. Well, it really was a progress since she had just nodded and watched him leave those past two weeks. "No, that came out wrong," she frowned and sat up when he had put his shirt on again and looked at her in confusion, "I mean, the past two weeks you've always jumped up to leave after we've made out." She stopped and resisted the urge to shake her head because of how strange that had sounded.

"Uhm…" Was his most educated reply and she really couldn't blame him. "Look, I don't want to pressure you because… I don't know, I just don't want you to regret anything…"

Addison got up and pulled him closer, a soft smile on her face. "I've never regretted anything. Not meeting you, not going out with you, not sleeping with you, not telling you that I love you…" She was relieved when he smiled as well. "Because you're wonderful," she brushed her lips over his before continuing, "I'm really sorry about crying last time and I know that it hurt you and—"

"You didn't hurt me." He promised and wrapped his arms around her. "I just got the feeling that maybe you weren't quite ready to take that step. And I'm really sorry I didn't tell you about this before."

"Don't be. I was just too dumbfounded each time you jumped up and left to say anything. But you do have to promise one thing," she smiled when he nodded, "well, two things," a roll of his eyes but another nod, "stop thinking that I'm doing anything that I regret."

Derek chuckled and nodded again, "okay. And what was the other thing? Because I won't promise anything I've never even heard…"

"Oh, right, the other thing," she whispered and pulled him back towards the sofa, "you're sleeping over tonight."

"I think that can be arranged." He whispered back before leaning in to kiss her again. But just when Addison was about to pull his shirt over his head for the second time that night her phone started to ring. At first she really did try her best to ignore it but after a bit he pulled back and looked at her. "Just answer it." He chuckled and moved off her.

"Sorry," she whispered to him before picking up the phone, "hello?" she answered absentmindedly without bothering to check the caller ID since all she wanted was to get rid off whomever was calling as quickly as possible.

"Addison, this is your mother," Addison froze but held back her groan as she let her body fall back against the sofa. Great, Bizzy calling, "Grace's birthday is coming up."

"I know, mother…" Was all she said, making Derek chuckle since he now knew who was on the other end of the line.

"What I wanted to tell you was that I am coming a few days early because I have a flight to Spain booked on the afternoon of the birthday."

"Uhuh…" Addison nodded absentmindedly before she jumped up from the sofa when she had fully comprehended what her mother had just told her.

"Addison, a lady never says uh—"

"Wait, did you just say that you're coming a few days early?" She tried to get her voice to sound less squeaky but wasn't succeeding. "Because Grace's birthday is in nine days."

"Yes, dear, that's what I was about to tell you. I'm arriving in Seattle next week. Clear your schedule! I have to go, tata!"

"Tata…" Addison mumbled and stood there frozen once her mother had hung up the phone.

"Tata?" Derek couldn't help but laugh.

"Shut up." She gave him a look but had to laugh as well.

"So you're mother is coming by?"

"Yep… In one week my mother is coming by which means I'll have to get all the horrible things she's given me as presents over the years out of storage and pretend they're here all the time, I have to get my hair done because no matter what she'll find grey hair…"

"I'm sure you're exaggerating just a little bit." He tried to calm her down and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She had already told him bits and pieces about the relationship with her parents and what he had gathered so far was that it was quite different from the relationship he had to his family.

"I'm not. When Chris had just proposed she asked him if he really was sure that he wanted to marry me because I really could be rather difficult sometimes."

"She did have a point…" Derek tried to say as seriously as possible but had to laugh when she hit him with a pillow.

"Oh, screw you, Derek Shepherd."

Did you enjoy it or was it totally not worth the wait?

Either way: Who here knows Love Actually? And who here is going to watch it now? :D

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
