"Okay, it should be just around this corner..."
Bonnie, carrying Fredbear, was on the search for his room; he intended to hide there with the baby bear until the others dealt with whatever was happening.
Fredbear had been unusually quiet the entire time; Bonnie had done his best to comfort him along the way, but to no avail.
"There it is!"
The bunny recognized his door (which he had carved his name onto and decorated with some stickers of music notes he'd found), heading to it; he opened it up and stepped inside.
However, he paused.
"Wait, what? This isn't my..."
As he attempted to figure out why they somehow entered a large room full of broken crates, Fredbear's head snapped up, ears flicking as his eyes widened.
Bonnie noticed this; unfortunately, a moment too late.
"What's wrong, Fredbear--?"
The door behind them abruptly slammed shut.
The bunny whirled around, eyes widening; Fredbear began to shake.
A dark voice came from behind them as a dark presence entered the room.
"Your choice was wrong. And now...you've become prey."
The rest of the Nightmares had regrouped in the large, almost empty (save the pillars holding up the upper floor and a couple tables with flower pots) room that Nightmare and Chica had found the Twins in; they were all a little worse for wear.
They were now tending to each other's wounds and discussing what happened to them; each story was met with confusion and theorizing on what was going on.
Foxy let out a hiss as Chica wrapped his torso in bandages.
"No' so tigh', lass--"
"It's gotta be a little tight so that it sticks, Foxy. We don't exactly have ane--anex--ugh--"
"Anesthesia?" Freddy offered, wrapping one of BB's paws.
"Yeah, anesthesia. It'd lessen the pain, but I couldn't find any."
"It's a miracle we found any of this," Nightmare murmured, wrapping Nightmarionne's hand. "Since the house seems like it wants to hurt us..."
"But it's never done this before!!" Mangle whined in confusion. "It's been weird, but this is ridiculous!!"
"The hell are we supposa do about it?" Jack-o-Bonnie snapped, snuggling closer to Jack-o-Chica. "From the looks of it, we're all injured as fuck."
"She's right..." Her sister sighed.
Plushtrap rubbed her aching head with a groan; however, a thought came to her, making her ears stand up straight.
".Hry, skree Frerir ren Brynnbrynn brin ckrirked ron?."
That made everyone freeze.
"Shit, she's right!! Has anyone checked on Bonnie and Fredbear?!" Nightmare asked in a panic.
"I didn't see them when I was getting supplies!!" Chica responded.
"We did not see them on our way back here," Freddy replied with worry.
Similar responses came from all around; Nightmare stood up.
"I'm gonna go check on them--"
"That won't be necessary, actually..."
The new voice, accompanied by a dark presence, made everyone freeze, looking around.
Nightmare slowly turned around, looking up.
Shadow Freddy and Shadow Bonnie emerged from the literal shadows; they continued to float high above the crew, looking down at them with feral, evil eyes.
Nightmare could tell that, despite them still clearly wanting to hurt them, something had changed since their last encounter; when he himself had gone feral and attacked them, he could tell there was some sort of normality within them, even if only for a split moment--
Now, that was gone, replaced with nothing but a pure desire for bloodshed and destruction; it radiated off them both--especially the bear--like warmth from a space heater.
"Well well well, the whole family seems to be here," Shadow Freddy grinned; there seemed to be blood on his fangs. "Isn't that interesting, Bonnie?"
"Hell yeah," She grinned, fangs showing the same results. "Interestin' for us."
"You two!!" Nightmare bellowed with rage. "What are you doing here?!"
"Hey, it's the bastards who attacked us this mornin'!!" JBonnie snapped in recognition.
"And those bastards who hurt Fredbear," Nightmare snarled.
"Yes, yes, everyone can recognize us easily," The Shadow bear laughed. "I'm sure your precious leader there gave you a good enough description of us after our first debut here."
He looked over the group, grinning at the chaos they had clearly been through.
"It warms my nonexistent heart to see that you all found the little gifts we programmed into the house for you."
Eyes and sockets widened all around; all the pieces clicked together in their heads.
"You two did this--!!"
"Aww, they're figurin' things out!! They grow up so fast~" Shadow Bonnie sneered sarcastically.
"They won't be doing either by the time we're done with them, Bonnie. After all, we already took care of the other two."
Dread spread around the room; an uncontrollable surge of rage flowed through Nightmare.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM?!"
Shadow Freddy chuckled darkly.
"Why don't you see for yourselves?"
He snapped his fingers; a large, purple bubble appeared, floating next to them.
Bonnie and Fredbear were trapped inside; the two were severely injured, unconscious.
Bonnie looked like he had been mauled by a pack of wolves; he was covered in blood, gashes, bruises and his body seemed bent at odd angles in certain places.
Fredbear looked different, however; he looked as if he had been crushed by something, limbs broken and blood gushing from his bruised body.
Screams of rage and fear came from the others; the Shadow kids laughed.
"They're all excited!" Shadow Bonnie laughed. "Imagine how they'll feel when the rest of 'em look like-"
She was abruptly cut off as she was kocked out of the air by a large red blast, sending her into the furthest wall.
Shadow Freddy's attention turned to Nightmare; the other bear's eyes had a wild, enraged look to them, and he had his fangs bared as he charged up another blast in his raised hand.
The Shadow bear smirked.
"Ah, I suppose that's our cue."
He raised a hand, causing it to glow; he then swung, sending a wave of purple energy flying.
Nightmare took the full force; he was sent flying, but was caught by Freddy, who had stood up.
"Thanks, Freddy--"
There was no time to converse, as more blasts began raining down on the kids; they were forced to scatter, the injured ones having a much harder time.
Most of them grouped up (unintentionally or not), most hiding behind the pillars or knocking tables over to use as barriers.
Nightmare, behind a pillar, peeked out at the two; he growled as he watched them sending down different kinds of blasts.
*What do we do?! Most of us are injured!! How do we fight them?!*
He looked around, attempting to spot all the others; however, he had to jump back as a blast came down near him.
He let out a growl.
*Shit...*
"Nightmare."
Nightmare turned around, greeted by the sight of Freddy; the other bear was trembling, but folded his ears down, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath.
"What do we do?" He asked, opening his eyes again.
"I...I'm not sure." Nightmare growled, glancing out again. "I took them by surprise last time, but now..."
He looked at the other bear again.
"Freddy, do you have any ideas?"
"We--perhaps we--" He paused to take another deep breath. "We should regroup, to start. It is far too dangerous to be separated like this--"
Nightmare tackled him out of the way as a blast crashed into their pillar, causing it to collapse; Shadow Freddy's voice came from above them.
"Hiding? Really? We expected you all to at leasttryand fight!!" He flew over, charging up a large blast. "Well, at least we can get this over quickly--"
CRASH!!
A flower pot collided with the back of his head, shattering upon impact; his head snapped forward, several shards sticking into him.
He reached behind himself, feeling the spots; he picked out a couple, examined them, then proceeded to absorb the rest before whipping around, eyes narrowed.
He caught a glimpse of red diving back behind a knocked-over table; he growled.
"Trying to be clever, are we? That's just like a fox."
He flung a wave of energy at the table, blasting it to pieces; Foxy and Nightmarionne desperately scrambled from their positions on the ground in an attempt to avoid more injuries.
Nightmare's eyes widened.
*Why did he do that?! They're some of the worst off!! They shouldn't be a distraction!!*
Freddy looked at his hands, trying to focus; he attempted to charge his powers, but his vision blurred as panic set in.
*No. Stop it. Focus, Freddy. Remain calm. You cannot get through this if you do not remain calm. The sooner you calm down, the sooner this will be over. Now stop. Panicking.*
He managed to calm himself enough; he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then tried again.
Sparks flicked around his fingers; he looked up at Nightmare.
"Nightmare, shall I..." He swallowed. "distract them, while you get to the others?"
Nightmare tore his eyes away from the chaos before him, turning to Freddy.
"Do you think you can handle them by yourself--?"
"Can you think of a better option? Hurry and gather the others. Perhaps I will get lucky somehow."
Nightmare could only respond with a nod, the two parting ways.
"WH-WHY D-DID Y-YOU D-DO TH-THAT?!"
"OI'M SORRY!! I WAS TRYNA HELP!! OI DIDN' THINK IT THROUGH!!"
Foxy and Nightmarionne had barely managed to get behind a pile of pillar rubble, and were now holding each other's hands and fearfully awaiting their deaths, killing time by arguing.
"W-We're g-g-gonna d-die, w-we're g-g-gonna die, oh, th-this i-is h-how i-it e-ends--!!"
"Marion, calm down!! We're gunna...eh..."
He peeked over the rubble to see the Shadows flinging beams around.
He glanced at the bubble holding Fredbear and Bonnie, gulping nervously.
"..."
He realized he was unable to finish his sentence.
*...Uh oh. Marion migh' be right...*
He sank down again.
"...Marion? I' was nice knowin'--"
"Foxy!! Mari!! Over here!!"
The two looked up to find Nightmare waving at them, the others gathered with him.
The two looked at each other before sneaking over to him--having to dodge several pieces of flying debris.
They managed to reach the group, a bit slow due to their injuries; Foxy actually found himself keeling over, whimpering due to the flaring pain in his back.
Chica helped the fox get into a comfortable position while Nightmare surveyed the group.
"Is everyone here?"
"Wh-Where's Fr-Freddy...?" Nightmarionne asked nervously.
"He's distracting those two. We probably don't have much longer, so we need to come up with a plannow."
"What can wedo,though?" Jack-o-Chica whimpered.
"I'm...not entirely sure, but we have to try."
He looked at the fight taking place.
"We have to try..."
He looked back at them all.
"Okay, so lots of us are injured, but maybe we can work around that..."
He looked at the Twins.
"The water damaged you guys, but not to the point of broken bones, right?"
"Nah, but I can't really use my fire right now." Jack-o-Bonnie snapped her fingers to demonstrate; nothing but smoke came from her fingers.
"Okay..."
He glanced around again.
"Wait...maybe we can find some weapons--!"
"What, like swords or something?" Chica asked, baffled. "We don't have time for that sort of thing! Besides, under these circumstances, would we even be able to?!"
"We have to try something! Even if we can't find actual weapons, maybe we can use something similar--?"
A large crash came from the battle area; the others flinched as a large purple flash accompanied it.
"We'd better hurry," Mangle whimpered. "Freddy might not last very long..."
"...Wait..." BB realized. "That gun I found!!"
He stuck his paw into his pocket, then facepalmed with the other.
"Crap, I left it somewhere!!"
"We'll help you find it, just come on!!"
Freddy crashed into the wall with a loud grunt, the wall caving in; he struggled to breathe as he attempted to push himself off.
Shadow Freddy floated in front of him, glaring.
"Did you have fun? I commend you, you have some skill...for an amateur. But, of course...you won't need to improve anymore."
He held up his hand, charging up more power.
"I'd suggest you close your eyes, unless you wish to see your demise."
Freddy choked as his vision began to blur, eyes slipping shut.
*...I tried...*
Shadow Freddy grinned as the other bear passed out.
"Well, that was easy."
With a final blast, the wall caved in, completely burying Freddy.
Shadow Bonnie laughed, then surveyed the area.
"Now where'd the rest of 'em go...?"
"Perhaps they wish to play hide and seek. Come on, let's get looking."
The two began floating down hallways, calling mockingly for the Nightmares; however, they were caught off guard when they passed by the kitchen, only for Shadow Freddy to be tackled by a particularly pissed off yellow bird with aparticularly largekitchen knife.
Chica let out a war cry as she stabbed the knife right into his pure white eye; she became covered in the pure black substance that splurted out of it and stung her.
"OI!! FUCK OFF!!" Shadow Bonnie lunged at her, only to be jumped from the side and whacked upside the head by Mangle, who was weilding a metal pole.
"NO, YOU!!" She screamed as she bashed the bunny repeatedly. "GET OUT!! AND STAY AWAY FROM US!!"
Shadow Freddy blasted Chica back into the kitchen, causing her to collide with the oven; the chicken screeched as she slammed into it, being crushed within the machine as it collapsed on itself.
"CHICA?!" Mangle shrieked, momentarily distracted; Shadow Bonnie took the opportunity to wrestle the pole from her and whack her in the neck with it as hard as she could, causing a painful snapping sound and the fox to crumble.
"Two down, how many more to go?" Shadow Freddy hummed. "Oh well, let's continue on--"
His eye had just barely sealed itself back up--only to get split open again as a living pumpkin smacked into this head and began biting him.
"The everlovin' fuck--?!" Shadow Bonnie slashed at it, only for a cupcake to come flying at her at breakneck speed and crash into her chest before latching onto her paw.
"THE EVERLOVIN' FUCK--"
"I TOLD YOU, THEY HAVE STRANGE COMPANIONS--"
The Twins came charging at the two, both grabbing a kitchen chair and swinging at them; their attempts worked for a few minutes, until Shadow Bonnie managed to trip Jack-o-Chica, grab the chair, and knock the chicken into the rabbit before smashing both chairs over their heads and knocking them out.
Shadow Freddy stood up with a growl, demeanor growing much darker.
"Now I just want to be rid of them. Let's hurry up and kill the last four and be done with it--"
"Eh--Fred, ya sure about killin' 'em? I thought we were jus' gonna rough 'em up--!"
"Plans change!" The bear snapped, whirling around; the bunny physically recoiled at how dark his aura had become. "We're going to kill them, burn this place down, and mount their skulls in the Flipside trees!"
"But then we can't mess with 'em later--!"
"MESS WITH THEM?! MESS WITH THEM?!DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A GAME TO YOU--?!"
"You've 'messed with us' plenty."
The two snapped out of their argument to see Nightmare and Plushtrap approaching, the bear holding a broken glass vase and the stitch bunny weilding a baseball bat.
"If you were going to 'mess with us', you would have left already." He growled. "Honestly, killing us sounds more likely, considering what you've been doing."
Plushtrap growled and nodded, flipping the two off.
The Shadows snarled and began charging up.
"Wow, you can only use your powers? No physical fighting? Tragic." Nightmare's heart rate skyrocketed as he spoke, but attempted to look calm to his enemies.
"Says the assholes with weapons!!"
"Are wereallythe assholes here? Plushtrap, are we really?"
Plushtrap chittered something, running claws over the bat.
"I agree."
He looked at the two again.
"Plushtrap and I are plenty happy to be assholes, considering you two are definitely far worse than that."
With that, he broke off a piece of the vase, chucking it at Shadow Freddy's face; he lunged while the bear was distracted, smashing the rest of it over his head and using the larger shards to stab at him.
Plushtrap lunged at Shadow Bonnie, hitting her with the bat before springing back; the black bunny gave a war cry and repeatedly lunged at her, slashing and ripping at the smaller skin; Plushtrap managed to dodge a lot of the attacks, landing a hit with that bat when seeing an opportunity.
Shadow Freddy flung Nightmare into the wall with a snarl.
He instantly began charging up, pointing his hands at the bear.
"I've been wanting to get revenge for last time for a while."
However...
BANG!
This was followed by a skidding noise; all heads whipped to find BB, having knocked himself over from the unprecedented recoil, weilding the gun he'd found.
The Shadows froze, looking at the bullet imbedded in the wall very close to Shadow Freddy's head.
The bear slowly backed away.
"What material is that...?"
"Uh, Fred--?!"
BB sprung back up, pointing the gun again; he was incredibly surprised by the reaction he was receiving.
"Sc-Scared of that?! Huh??" He snapped, although trembling. "Want me to do it again?!"
His claws fumbled around the trigger before doing just that; this time, the bullet found its new home in Shadow Bonnie's shoulder.
The bunny screeched, leaping in the air and spamming around before flinging herself in random directions.
"Bonnie--!! Bonnie, calm down, it might not be s--detrimental!" Shadow Freddy lept at her and wrapped his arms around her, attempting to keep her still.
"Woah--uh--yeah! You want that too?? You should beat it now while you have the chance!!" BB growled.
Shadow Freddy glowered, lifting his hand up--but stared down the barrel of the gun, and glanced at Shadow Bonnie again.
"...This isn't over."
And with that, he teleported away.
Nightmare and Plushtrap stared with wide eyes; BB collapsed onto his haunches, breathing heavy.
"Ohmydadwhattheheckthatworked--?!"
"Why did you let them go?!" Nightmare bellowed. "That looked like it hurt them--!"
"Dude,I literally only had those two bullets." BB flopped onto his back. "If they hadn't fell for that, we woulda been screwed."
Plushtrap looked around, then furrowed her brows; she chattered at BB.
He jumped up.
"Oh, yeah--Foxy passed out, and Mari stayed with him. We should probably go get them--"
He loomed around.
"...And everybody else..."
Nightmare looked around at the chaos with an empty stare.
Everyone was injured, and mostly everyone was unconscious; two more of their members were possiblydead.
It had all happened so fast.
"...Nightmare? You good dude...?"
The bear shook his head, but stood nonetheless.
"Come on...everyone's hurt...we need to...h-hurry. Yeah."
He shook his head, hard--and rubbed his eyes.
It didn't help how detached he suddenly felt.
Oh my word, I actually finished this.
Guys...sorry it's been so long. I know I always say that, but this time was a lot, and life has just been...I don't wanna get into it.
But hey, here it is! ...Yay?
I hope this is good, despite changes from the original.
...Speaking of changes...
There's gonna be quite a few changes from here on out. Arcs are gonna be either taken our entirely or nearly entirely re-written, I think my writing style has changed a bit over the past year (hopefully for the better), stuff like that. And the chapter length for this entire story is going down significantly. Seriously, why did I ever think 600 chapters was realistic/necessary...? Oh well.
...And...
Plushtrap Speak might not be a thing anymore.
I mean, when Plushtrap talks, I might just be like "She chittered" or something rather than making the whole language. I might make her speak speak occasionally, but it'll be less often. And I'm definitely changing the formatting for it, the double periods is a pain and a cringer for my eyes.
Anyways, next chapter will be shorter and the end of this arc, but the consequences will be long lasting...
Enjoyed? Do let me know!
See ya next chappie!
