Grace let out a squeal of excitement when she saw her grandfather waiting outside her classroom after school. She immediately let go of the hand of her teacher who was walking her out and ran to him.

"Pop!" she said happily, running into his outstretched arms. "You're here to pick me up!"

"I sure am honey," he replied as he kissed her cheek. "Did you have a good day?"

"Mhmm. I was good today and got a sticker," she informed him.

"That's great, Grace," he smiled. He grabbed her small hand and led her out of the building.

"Where's Mama and Daddy?" she asked curiously.

"Well that's why I'm here, sweetheart. Guess what? Your mama had your baby brother this morning while you were in school. He's here."

Her eyes widened, "Really? My baby brother is here?"

"Yep. He's here. Your mama and daddy are at the hospital right now with him. They're waiting on me to take you so you can meet him. Are you excited?"

"Yeah! Let's go Pop!" Frank chuckled as Grace pulled on his hand to go faster.

"He's so quiet," Eddie said softly as she ran a finger down her newborn son's cheek. "Just like his sister."

Jamie smiled as he kissed the top of the baby's head. "He is. Looks just like her too."

"Did your dad pick her up already?" she asked.

"He did," he confirmed. "He's taking her to get a snack first because she was hungry but then he'll bring her here."

Eddie nodded, "I can't wait for her to see him. She's been talking all week about how she can't wait to meet her baby brother."

Conor David Reagan was born just two hours after arriving at the hospital. Eddie had gone into labor in the early hours of the morning. Her contractions weren't too bad in the beginning so they decided to wait on going to the hospital until after they took Grace to school. It was quite an emotional drop off for Eddie, knowing that those were going to be the last few moments with their little girl as their only child.

"Bye bye honey," she whispered, kissing Grace's cheek as they stood outside the classroom. "I'll see you later okay. Have a good day."

Grace nodded and hugged her tightly, "Bye Mama." Then, she placed a hand on Eddie's belly. "Bye brother."

They were thankful that Grace was excited for the new addition. She seemed to have a keen interest in what was happening. She would ask about him everyday and even asked questions at times that they had to be very careful on how they answered it.

Jamie and Eddie were sitting on the couch enjoying a show with Grace in between them. Eddie looked over to see that the two year old was staring intently at her belly.

"Are you okay, bird?" Eddie asked curiously.

"How he get in there?" she responded.

"Who honey?" Jamie interjected.

She reached out and put a hand on Eddie's belly, "my brother."

Eddie's eyes widened and pressed her lips together as she looked over at Jamie. They knew that this question would come up eventually but were never too sure on the best way they could answer it.

"Well... um," Jamie began, wiping a small bead of sweat from his forehead that had just formed. "When a mama and a daddy love each other very much, they can make a baby inside the mama's belly. That's how your brother got in your mama's belly. And that's how we had you too."

Grace looked between her parents for a long moment before finally shrugging and looking back at the T.V. "Okay", she said simply as she leaned against her mother's side.

Eddie wrapped an arm around her and kissed the top of her head. "Good job," she mouthed to Jamie.

Jamie just let out a sigh of relief and leaned back against the couch.

As much as they love their little girl, they were elated to find out that they were having a boy. Eddie had ended up having to go to the appointment alone to find out what they were having and had kept Jamie in the dark the entire day until he arrived home.

"Ed!" he exclaimed as he bursted through the front door of the apartment. "Babe, where are you?"

All of a sudden, he heard a door shut and quick footsteps coming in his direction.

"Shhh!" she whispered. "I just put Grace to bed."

"Sorry," he responded. Then, he stepped forward and pressed a kiss to her lips in greeting. "So what's the verdict?"

She stared at him for a long minute before breaking into a wide smile, "It's a boy."

Frank and Grace arrived to the hospital to find Jamie waiting outside for them. The three year old leapt into her father's arms when he opened the car door.

"Hi Daddy!" she exclaimed. "My baby brother is here?"

Jamie kissed her cheek and hugged her tight, "He is. And he's upstairs with mama waiting on you right now."

Frank came around the car and greeted him, "How are they? Congratulations again, son."

"Thanks dad," Jamie smiled. "They're doing great."

"We brought some goods from the bakery in case you were hungry," he informed him, hold up a brown paper bag. "Grace wanted to eat hers with you guys."

"I got mama a cupcake and my brother a bear," Grace added as she pointed to the other bag in Frank's hands. "And I got you a kale smoothie, Daddy."

Jamie chuckled, "Thank you, honey. You always know what I like." He put Grace down, took the bags from Frank and proceeded to walk into the hospital.

"Are we the first ones?" Frank asked as he grabbed his granddaughter's hand.

Jamie nodded, "Yeah. You almost weren't though. Erin called and asked if she could come but when she found out that Grace hadn't seen him yet, she decided to wait. But I'm sure she's on her way though."

A few minutes later, they arrived to the room. Jamie slowly opened the door and guided Grace inside.

Eddie's eyes lit up as soon as she laid eyes on her daughter. "Hi sweetheart." She adjusted the baby in her arms. "Look who's here. It's your baby brother."

Grace stood on her tip toes so she could see him. "Help her get up here, Jamie," Eddie said.

He immediately obliged and lifted the little girl onto the bed. Frank walked around to the other side and kissed his daughter-in-law's cheek. "Congratulations sweetheart. He's adorable."

She smiled, "Thank you Frank."

"He's so little," Grace whispered as she ran a finger over his cheek.

"He is," Eddie agreed. "You were little like this too. Do you want to hold him, bird?"

Grace nodded. Eddie shifted the little girl to sit in between her legs. "Put your arms just like we practiced okay?" Eddie gently handed over the small bundle to her daughter. "There you go. Good girl Grace."

She kept her arms under Grace's just to be safe. Jamie and Frank pulled out their phones to take a few candid shots of the two.

"What do you think of your brother, Grace?" Frank asked his granddaughter.

She kissed his cheek. "I love him. Do we keep him?"

Everyone let out a laugh. "Of course we keep him," Jamie replied. "He's coming home with us."

"Good," Grace responded.

"So what's the name?" Frank asked his son a few minutes later when he finally got a turn with his newest grandson. Eddie and Grace were chatting amongst each other as they enjoyed the sweets from the bakery.

"Conor," Jamie answered. "Conor David Reagan."

"Ah..." Frank replied. He cleared his throat and quickly blinked away a few tears that dared to form. He looked down at Conor. "That's a wonderful name. A strong name for a strong boy."

Then, there was a few quiet moments before Frank spoke up again, "I know I don't tell any of you kids enough but I'm proud of you. I really am. You and Eddie have made a wonderful life together."

Jamie gave a small smile, "Thank you dad."

"Can I give you a piece of advice?" he asked.

"Please," Jamie responded.

"Enjoy these years with them. Cherish every moment. Even the moments when they are driving you crazy. Time goes by so fast. Before you know it, you and Eddie will be here holding one of your grandchildren in your arms."

Jamie nodded as he ran a hand over his son's head then looked over at his daughter and wife, "I know. I will."

Later, after the entire family had visited, Jamie cuddled his son in his arms as his wife slept. He hadn't gotten much one-on-one time with him since his arrival so he decided to take advantage before the little one signaled that he was hungry and needed his mother. Conor was wide awake, staring at the world around him with bright blue eyes just like his mother and sister.

"Oh buddy," he said gently, running a finger over his cheek. "You don't know what you're in for with this family but I sure am happy to finally have you here. I needed another man in the house to even out the playing field with your mama and sister."

Conor turned his head toward his father's voice and burrowed into his chest. Jamie ran a thumb over his small hand and smiled when Conor grasped it.

"Just like I told your sister when she was born... I'm going to always be here for you no matter what. There's nothing that you and Grace can do that will make me love you guys any less."

He leaned down and pressed a kiss to the baby's cheek before he continued. "I will always make sure that you're always taken care of and never want for anything, okay? I'll always be here to protect you. I made that promise to your mama, then to your sister, and now to you, bud. You three are my biggest priorities and keep me going everyday. I'm not perfect and will never be but I will always do my best for you."

Suddenly, Conor let out a long yawn and closed his eyes. Jamie let out a small laugh as he kissed the baby again. "I'm boring you now, aren't I? It's okay. You go to sleep. Get your rest."

The room was soon filled with the light snores of his son. Jamie looked over at his wife, down at his son, then thought about his daughter who was currently having a sleepover with her godmother. He smiled to himself. For him, life couldn't get any better than this.

Happy Father's Day :)
