I'm Yui

"Freedom, in any case, is only possible by constantly struggling for it." – Albert Einstein

I was in awe of the large and sophisticated mansion in front of me. I looked around and noticed the scenery of the place, which was breathtaking. I thought it would be nice to live here.

The sky did not seem to agree, though. The clouds darkened all of a sudden, followed by the heavy rain. I had no choice but to seek shelter in the mansion. I knocked on its tall doors and they opened up automatically. As I enter, I was amazed by its robust pillars, lavish red carpet, and sparkling chandelier. There were stairs at the end of the halls. I made haste to look for the receptionist.

I looked around and found a sofa. A boy sleeps on it. What is he doing here, I thought. I did not expect this. I was sure this dormitory is not co-ed. I walked toward him and woke him up. I failed.

"Is anybody here?" I shouted. I waited for an answer when someone grabbed me. It was the boy on the sofa. Instantly, he was on top of me. I cannot help but notice his spiky red hair, sharp chartreuse eyes, and uniform. I guessed this was co-ed after all.

"Damn, you're noisy. This isn't even your house. Would you please try to keep it down?" he demanded. Why did he say that it was his house?

"I'm sorry. I'm about to check in to this dormitory. Do you know where the receptionist is?" I asked as I collected myself. He laughed. I wondered if I said something funny.

"What are you talking about?" He stared at me, his eyes going lower. He aimed at my neck. I felt his tongue touch it. I instinctively pushed him away. I struggled to get up but he kept on pinning me down.

"Get off me!" I yelled. Someone spoke to that boy named Ayato. That guy, whom he called Reiji, reminded him that private things should not be done in the entrance hall. He had dark violet hair, bespectacled light magenta eyes, and a towering height. I asked him what he meant when he mentioned private things. He asked for my identity in return.

"I'm Yui Komori. I'm an incoming freshman for this school year. I'm supposed to be in this dormitory," I answered. His brows furrowed. He thought that was strange and told me to follow him. He commanded someone to take care of my luggage. An old man appeared beside me and disappeared into the shadows. Goosebumps crawled throughout my whole body.

We stayed in the foyer. Reiji asked me again when another guy appeared upstairs. He looked like Ayato. The difference was that he had long hair and a hat. He spoke in a flirtatious way, which was gross, by the way.

I felt someone lick my cheek and turned right. There he was. I felt someone do it again on the back of my ear. There was another guy on my left. They kept on saying I taste sweet. I tried to stand up but they stopped me.

"Stop that, you two. It's highly inappropriate to behave so impolitely toward a young woman you just met!" said Reiji. They didn't listen. They just argued about who will have me first. I was frustrated. To make things worse, Ayato called himself 'yours truly' all the time. Someone disagreed with him. I wondered where that guy was. Ayato told him, whom he called Subaru, to show himself. He did. He had white hair and red eyes.

"Who is this mortal who dares awaken me from my precious sleep?" he asked. No one answered him. I was still struggling to stand up while I wonder why he spoke that way.

"Answer my question!" He punched the wall and it had a huge crack. Either he was incredulously strong or the mansion was decrepitly old, but he was able to do it.

Reiji calmed everyone down and asked them why I was there. I guessed it was my turn to speak. "I guess I was wrong about this place being a dormitory. If you don't mind, I must leave now and find it immediately."

I got up when Reiji stopped me. He told me that it was discourteous of me to leave while he was getting to the bottom of these. He had the nerve to teach me about manners when they clearly lack it. Suddenly, I heard another voice speak.

"I wonder if she's the young woman that he mentioned the other day," he said. I saw a guy lying down on a sofa beside the fireplace.

"Shu, do you know something about this girl?"

"It was that guy. He contacted me a couple of days ago. He told me that we'd have a guest arriving from the church and that we should treat her with respect," he continued. The others were confused. One of them asked if I was the prospective bride. The other argued that it was more like a sacrifice.

Reiji concluded that there was no misunderstanding at all. He introduced them for formality. Shu was the eldest son. He was second. Next were the triplets Ayato, Kanato, and Laito. Subaru was the youngest.

"It was nice to meet you, but I think there's a mistake. Nobody told me about being a bride or a sacrifice. I'm pretty sure it was all a misunderstanding. Please just give me a minute," I finally said. I looked for my phone to contact my father. Ayato snatched it away from me. I tried to get it back but Subaru took it from him and crushed it.

I was about to confront him when Kanato and Laito stood beside me. They said I would not need my phone. I looked at Laito and saw fangs in his mouth. That's when I knew it was my time to leave. I asked Reiji if I could get my luggage back.

"If you insist," he challenged. The others smirked. Did I see fangs on them as well? That's it. I really need to get out of here.

I wandered around the halls to find my luggage. Something was odd. I found Kanato beside a table full of candies and pastries. I also found an old telephone. Laito was suddenly behind me, holding its broken cord. My heart was pounding so loud it was all I could hear. I stopped looking for my luggage and headed to the door. However, it did not open. Ayato appeared out of nowhere.

I ran upwards of the spiral staircase in fright and saw a room with an open door. Its lock and chain were broken. I entered it and took a rest. I looked around and found a vanity with pieces of jewelry. I also found my father's diary. How did it end up here? Did they do something to him?

I looked out the window and saw a woman with long purple hair. She turned to face me. Something inside me hurt so badly. Suddenly, all of the boys appeared in front of me. They told me that I won't be able to escape and I would be dead if I tried.

"Stop this nonsense! I will leave this place, whether you like it or don't!" I stood up when someone grabbed me.

"Hey, mountains! I wanna hear you scream!"

"Scream for us, little bitch!"

"Let me go!" I pleaded. They forced themselves on me. They opened their mouth. What were they? I thought they were vampires, but that's impossible. Those creatures only existed in myths. They were just freaks who had their canine teeth sharpened like animals.

I heard something break. "My bad, it seems like I knock something over," said Shu.

"Hey there, mountains!" I turned around and saw Ayato. He raised his hand and everything went black.
