Ash laid there, pain throughout his whole body as the memories of what had just happened went through his head. "Right...we did it." He said coughing, causing blood to spill out. The rubble of the building started to move as Akira's face came into view followed by Kazuma, both looked shocked and sad at the same time as they pulled their friend from the rubble. They dragged Ash over and sat him against something he couldn't see as his vision faded in and out.

"Ash...can you hear me?" He hears Kazuma ask. He simply nods as he coughs more.

"He's not looking too good..." Kazuma says. "We need to get Aqua here now."

"I don't even know if that would help. He's not a full human so her powers may not work at all on him." Akira says as more footsteps approach. The two turn with wide eyes. "No! Don't let Megumin over here!" Akira says. The young Arch-Wizard however didn't want to listen and with what energy she had ran forward to see Ash.

He was bloody and battered; his left arm was gone and his legs were cut up, his face was half covered in blood and his grey hair seemed to be dyed that color to as one eye was missing when he looked up to Megumin. The girl was holding back her cries as she reached forward and grabbed his hand, Arkham coming over in that moment with his second beloved.

"Yamato...it's shattered." He said holding the pieces before Ash with the scabbard. The adventurer looked at it in his daze as they were placed before him.

"Aqua! Heal him!" She yelled to the Arch-Priest.

"I'm sorry...I can't." She says.

"Why not!?"

"He's too far gone at this stage. On top of that my holy magic may do more harm than good to him because of his half Devil blood. I'm sorry Megumin, but I can't do anything." She says.

The young girl let's years fall as she starts to choke up and cry. Her face turns to shock as Ash moves his hand up to her cheek and cups it, smiling lightly to her.

"Don't...be sad...we had...a great life together." He says to her. Up until they fought the Devil King it was fun and adventurers. "Remember me...as I was." He says as she leans in and cries more.

"I will! I'll never forget you!" She says as she feels his hand slowly slide off her face. Her eyes grow wide as everything seems to freeze. The party all was somber as they saw the life leave their friend.

Ash, the half-Devil Dark Swordsman, had died after aiding in taking out the Devil King Yasaka Kyouichi. Megumin couldn't hold back as her crying grew louder.

Ash blinked as he saw a familiar sight. "Why am I here?" He asks out loud. He looks up to see someone he was not familiar with as the last time he was here, Aqua sent him on his way. He's seen pictures of Eris so it wasn't her. In fact the God (he guessed) was a man not a woman.

"Why hello there my most recent entertainment. I am Ember, the god of gambling." He says causing Ash's eyes to widen. "Surprised? Not unexpected. I win that bet."

"You say...entertainment?" Ash asks first.

Ember nods. "Yes; you see while you guys were running around down below I was making bets up here, watching everything. It was fun to see and you made me some hefty sums. You also lost me some, but that's how it works sometimes." Ember shrugs. "Now then that's not why I brought you here. You were supposed to fully die and finally move on there but I don't want that. I want to see more of what you can do." Ember says.

"What?" Ash asks.

Ember smirked as he played with a coin in his fingers. "Yep; so with that in mind I'm gonna re-reincarnate you. Another life with all you had from this one, though you have to start from 'level 0' again. In this world however it's like yours so no levels." Ember tells him.

"Won't someone get mad?" Ash asks him, making Ember laugh.

"Oh please. No one cares what I do because everything I do is a gamble. It either pays off in the end or doesn't and the others don't much care. It gives them good entertainment too and...well I've got a lot of authority too." He says.

Ash's thoughts turned to his friends. "What about-"

"I can't send you back; and don't ask about your friends. It's best to move on from here." Ember tells him. "Now I will be sending you on your way."

Ash sighs. "Fine, but I want everything still as you said, some clothes, the same look, and...I want my memories and Yamato." He says.

Ember chuckled. "Of course. Here, I even fixed it for you." Ember says snapping his fingers causing the tattered clothes Ash was in to fix and Yamato to appear in his outstretched hand not shattered. "Best of luck! Oh, I'll tell you now; I did change ooooone thing. Hope it helps~." Ember tells him as Ash's vision goes white.
