Domino Squad watched the Bad Batch where they were in a corner booth. This was the only place all of them were able to fit. Partially because of Wreckers giant size.
The size of Wrecker, Tech's goggles and widow peaked hair, Hunter's long black hair with a red skull bandanna that matched the red skull tattoo across half of his face and Crosshair's pale skinned face that always held a sour expression under his silver gray hair distracted them. Because there was a fifth person in the booth. A small young woman with gray skin with white markings, white hair pulled back in a braid, and a blue tunic that matched her eyes. Her black pants and boots matched the Bad Batches usual black clothes.
Sitting in between Crosshair who was at the edge of the booth and Hunter, she seemed quietly content. Watching the person who was speaking while eating her hamburger and fries. All of them had food, but Wrecker seemed to be more interested in telling a story that was irritating Crosshair who was arguing instead of eating. Whatever she said in her quiet voice caused them to stop, and food became the focus again.
Cutup broke the silence, "Who...?" motioning to her.
"Crosshairs girl Lyni," Echo answered.
Looking at their squad mate Droidbait responded, "Echo, if that was a joke it's not funny."
As the joker Cutup laughed, "Of course it's a joke. Who would be with that guy?"
"His special lady." Echo shrugged under their combined gazes, "That's what he calls her."
The other Dominos still didn't believe him but Hevy got them to shut up, and soon everyone got first hand witness of this relationship. There was dancing in the corner of the place near the bar area and after the Bad Batch plus the woman had finished eating they sat talking. After a while a slow song came on and Lyni straightened, giving Crosshair a hopeful but questioning look.
All the Dominos assumed that Crosshair would just walk out of the place when he got out of the booth, but when she slipped out he took her hand and they went to the dance floor. Going though what Senator Amidala called a waltz the pair made their way around in a slow circle. Crosshair was a little awkward and covered it up with his usual sulkiness, but Lyni was graceful.
After the dance they rejoined the Bad Batch, and the good natured joking. It seemed like Crosshair was going to react but she took his hand before leaning her head against his chest with a contented smile. He seemed to relax at her touch, and the conversation extended before the group broke up; Hunter, Wrecker, and Tech towards the port where the Havoc Marauder while Crosshair got on a speeder and Lyni climbed on behind him before wrapping her arms securely around his waist. All went away, and Domino Squad believed the relationship.
