PUPS & THE FRAUDULENT NURSE
I DON'T OWN PAW PATROL ONLY MY OC'S
It was a lovely Monday afternoon in Adventure Bay. School had let out for the day & everyone was going about doing their own thing. The PAW Patrol & their friends were at the park playing.
"It's been a fantastic day today" said Colby with a smile.
"Agreed. The best weekdays are those where everything goes smoothly" said Constance as she nodded.
"Any day where I get to hang out with you all is my favourite" said Elias in a cheerful voice.
"Fun in the sun is what we get on days like this. I wouldn't want it any other way" said Kelly as everyone continued playing. A short time later a middle-aged woman wearing hospital scrubs with brown hair, blue eyes & white shoes walked by pushing a wheelchair with a 14-year-old boy on it. The boy had short dark hair, brown eyes & wore a plaid patterned long sleeve shirt over a white short sleeved shirt, long grey pants & blue sneakers.
"Isn't it a lovely day for a stroll in the park Spencer?" asked the woman.
"I can't argue with that. It's rather relaxing actually" said Spencer with a smile. The PAW Patrol & their friends spotted Spencer & the woman & decided to go over to say hello.
"Good afternoon. How are you 2 doing?" asked Ryder in a curious tone.
"We're doing OK. Thanks for asking. My name is Ursula & this is my nephew Spencer" said the woman.
"Do you live here? I can't say I've seen you 2 around before" said Chase.
"We just moved here. Aunt Ursula just got transferred to the hospital here from her old location" said Spencer as he shook hands/paws with everyone.
"Why are you in a wheelchair?" asked Marshall in an uncertain manner.
"At age 7 Spencer was in a car accident that killed his parents leaving him paralysed. He also has chronic joint pain in his knees which stops him from using crutches to get around. Using a wheelchair is the most convenient method of transporting him" said Ursula with a sigh.
"That's awful. Do you have any other family members around?" asked Rocky.
"No. I'm an only child, my uncle died from cancer when I was a toddler, my grandparents died before I was born & I don't have any other living family. Aunt Ursula's all I have" said Spencer in solemnness.
"That's rough. I can kind of relate since I don't know much of anything about who my family is" said Rubble.
"Life for us has been very hard. In addition to the paralysis & joint pain Spencer has battled many health problems throughout childhood. He's had pneumonia, digestion problems, irritable bowel syndrome, urinary tract infections, sepsis, bronchitis, broken bones, severe allergic reactions, blood clots & torn ligaments among other things. Being his caregiver, I've struggled to raise him while also working long shifts as a nurse in the hospital. He's home-schooled mainly because it's convenient for both of us. He doesn't often get the opportunity to get out & about because of his health. Thankfully due to the community in our previous residence knowing the difficulties & struggles we've had they've been kind enough to provide us things like toys, video games, DVDs, appliances, health equipment & more since we can barely afford those things. It truly warms my heart knowing that people care" said Ursula with a grateful smile.
"It's nice to know you've been helped out when it's needed. You can always rely on that here in Adventure Bay" said Skye in an encouraging voice.
"Excellent. We're currently living in a hotel room because we can't find a house to live in. Hopefully soon we'll find ourselves a good home" said Spencer in an eager tone.
"I'm sure you will. Want to stay & play for a bit?" asked Zuma.
"Unfortunately, we can't. We're going to get dinner before heading back to our hotel room. I have to sleep early because my next shift begins at 4 AM tomorrow morning" said Ursula.
"It was still nice meeting you all. I guess we'll see you around" said Spencer with a smile.
"Most likely. Have a good evening" said Ryder as Spencer & Ursula left. They went by Mr Porter's & got themselves some roast meat & vegetables before returning to the hotel they were staying at. Upon returning to their room Ursula smirked. Spencer wasn't paralysed, didn't have chronic joint pain & could walk perfectly fine. Ursula was a very cunning, devious & manipulative fraudster who had fabricated all of Spencer's supposed health problems in order to gain sympathy from others & trick them into giving them things simply because Ursula desired living lavishly without having to work hard for it. For the last 7 years she'd lied to everyone she knew & had received large sums of money, expensive gifts & paid vacations. Spencer felt bad about the fact that Ursula was conning people, but he didn't know what to do as anytime he ever confronted Ursula about her lies she'd snap at him & accuse him of being ungrateful for what he got. She also abused him if & when he did or said anything she didn't approve of. The abuse was both physical & psychological including punching, kicking, slapping, burning, cutting, scratching, hair pulling, scalding, bragging about her ability to manipulate people, telling Spencer he was a brat, that nobody would believe him if he tried to reveal the truth & that she'd never let him expose her. What Ursula didn't know was that Spencer kept track of the abuse including photos of injuries sustained from the physical abuse, audio & video recordings of Ursula bragging about her deception & fraudulent means of income & a diary filled with dates, times & descriptions of incidents. Spencer wasn't sure how he'd be able to escape as he knew if he tried to run away he'd be brought back & punished by Ursula & since she was with him most of the day he found it incredibly difficult to call for help without her knowing what he was up to. It was a seemingly hopeless situation.
"I don't get why we have to keep lying to people about my health. Don't you feel bad about ripping people off?" asked Spencer in a guilty manner.
"We've talked about this Spencer. You need to start showing more appreciation for what I do for you" said Ursula with a scowl.
"What you're doing is illegal. You could go to jail for this. I hate being forced to live a lie. This isn't how I want to live" said Spencer in frustration. Ursula growled & slapped Spencer across the face.
"It disgusts me how ungrateful you are for the things you get. We have everything we need. It's not our fault that everyone else is stupid enough to believe what I say. Then again seeing as I'm a nurse I know exactly how to fabricate the right documents to prove what I say. I've done it for years & I'm going to continue doing it for as long as possible. I'm not discussing this with you anymore. We're eating dinner & nothing else" said Ursula as she served the food. Spencer & Ursula ate with Spencer feeling upset & unsure of what to do.
"No matter how hard I try I can't seem to think of a way out of this. I'm tired of being forced to live a lie. Aunt Ursula is a truly awful person with no remorse for her actions. I'd be intensely satisfied seeing her get what she deserves" thought Spencer as he ate dinner. After they finished eating Spencer & Ursula bathed/showered before lying down to sleep. As Spencer lay awake he noticed a big knife Ursula had used to cut up the roast meat. As he stared at the knife a thought came to him.
"Maybe I should kill Aunt Ursula. Right now, it's the only option I have that'll allow me to escape. I don't care if I spend the rest of my life in prison for it. At least I won't have to live a lie anymore. For 7 years I've been an unwilling pawn in Aunt Ursula's sinister game of fraud. This is my chance to put an end to it once & for all" thought Spencer as he contemplated his next move. The longer he did the more tempting the idea of killing Ursula became. Eventually Spencer decided he'd wait until Ursula was asleep before making his move. Ursula remained awake for at least 1-2 hours before finally dozing off. It was 7 PM. Spencer decided to wait until at least 10 PM so that when he made his move nobody in the other rooms would hear the commotion.
"I have to make sure none of the other guests catch me. If they do the situation will be misinterpreted & I'll be seen as a cold-blooded psychopath. Surely by 10 everyone will be asleep. I'll make my move then" thought Spencer as he spent the next few hours on his phone. Luckily Ursula remained asleep & nobody came by the room during this time. Once 10 PM rolled around Spencer retrieved the knife & took a deep breath before sneaking over to Ursula. As she lay face up still asleep Spencer put his hand over Ursula's mouth & stabbed her in the chest. The knife entered her chest piercing her heart causing her to wake up & gasp. Spencer twisted the knife to make sure it'd do enough damage while glaring into Ursula's eyes. Ursula remained frozen on the bed in complete shock. She could barely make a sound & quickly found herself growing weak as she bled out.
"It's over Aunt Ursula. I'm taking my life back into my hands. There's no doubt in my mind that my life will be better off without you in it. I don't care what happens to me after this. All I hope is that you get exposed for the abusive, conniving, manipulative fraudster you are. I don't regret doing this & I never will. You stole most of my childhood with your lies. That ends now. I hope you rot in hell, nasty witch" said Spencer as he watched Ursula stare at him in horror. With every passing moment she grew weaker & felt the life draining out of her. In less than 5 minutes Ursula was dead from having bled out. Spencer left Ursula dead on the bed & went to wash himself off in the bathroom. Adrenaline, relief, satisfaction & uncertainty filled him.
"I can't believe I just did that. I don't even know how to feel. A part of me feels relieved since I'm now free from Aunt Ursula's control but another part of me feels like I may have made a huge mistake. Tomorrow I'll confess & expose Aunt Ursula for the real nasty piece of work she was all along. Whatever happens from there so be it" said Spencer as he finished cleaning himself up. He then grabbed a clean blanket & pillow & brought it into the bathroom where he placed it in the bathtub. Spencer then got in his makeshift bed to sleep. He drifted off still thinking about what he'd just done & how life would be for him with Aunt Ursula dead.
