He opened his eyes and let out a yawn as he stretched his back. It was odd to recall that memory from long ago as he began setting his day with preparations before looking at his comrade who snuggled on her pillow.

The comrade resembled a three year old cosplayer with light purple hair, horn ornaments, dressed in a strange armor and carried a harp with her and she had a look of bliss on her sleeping face. She was utterly adorable and it took a lot of people to resist the urge to squeeze her and take her home.

"Bella, the time is near. Are you ready for the chaos?" the young man asked aloud.

It stirred the young girl from her rest as she scrunched her face before sitting up and rubbing her eyes and a pout. "Why wake me up so early Nikolai? It's not even seven yet." the girl inquired with an adorable yawn.

"God has spoken to me, the next Herrscher is about to rise soon. We are to ensure things go smoothly and no one interferes with the plan." he answered as the little girl floated up and looked outside.

The city they were in was called Nagazora in Honshu, Japan, which was far away from the cold lands of Russia as the weather was warmer in the summers. Nikolai lamented how he'd been unable to enjoy vodka during his first year there due to the potential heat strokes he experienced whilst exploring the potential new queen about to rise.

"To have survive having the Gem of Conquest implantation is unexpected, but why is there a surge of Honkai happening here?" Bella inquired, confused as to why she isn't sensing the normal surge of Honkai energy within the land.

"Some foolish humans are attempting an artificial surge to wake her. They seek to harness her powers for their own selfish means." Nikolai responded as he popped his knuckles and a fire in his eyes. "We must not allow that and make sure she can fully manifest her power and fulfill her destiny as Herrscher of Thunder."

Bella nodded her head, a look of regret on her face as she recalled her queen that gave her the name Bella. The Gem of Conquest was once part of her queen and she had used the power to give Bella her form and intellect. She would help this Herrscher realize her potential so she can be prepared for when the humans dare to raise their weapons against the agents of the Honkai.

"To Chiba Academy, there, the young one awaits."

As the artificial Honkai Impact occurred, the clouds gathered and darkened as thunder rang in the heavens above. Nikolai and Bella stood on a roof overseeing the academy, witnessing the Deadwalkers moving with purpose.

"Odd, even though it is artificial in nature, Honkai Beasts are not gathering yet. Perhaps since the Herrscher hasn't awakened her powers yet they do not heed the call?" he inquired to Bella as the little girl closed her eyes and the white ears at the top of her head twitched.

"Yes, that is exactly why they have yet to appear. But in the meantime the Deadwalkers should..." Bella paused, opening her eyes and confusion adorned her cute face before shock took over. "Nick! Nick! SHE is here?!" she exclaimed as she was swimming in the air in excitement.

"Yes, we know that the Herrscher of Thunder is-"

"Not her, our queen is here in the school!" Bella cut in, surprising the young man.

"That's...impossible..." he muttered as a haunted look passed on his face before closing his eyes and began to concentrate. It was there that he sensed them, the crackling fury of thunder that came from the Gem of Conquest and the human hosting it-but the other was a familiar one. A gnawing void seeking to be filled and carrying a deepened hatred and contempt that only one person he knew so well could have.

"...Sirin, my queen, are you truly alive again?" he pondered a loud, trying not to get his hopes up. He knew that if he were to carry even the smallest shred of hope in his heart, it would only end in disappointment and sadness. The two must get to the bottom of this mystery soon and ensure that their priorities are secured.

As they drew closer to the school, sounds of combat drew their attention as they noticed that several zombies had bullet shots or damaged parts from blunt trauma here and there. Someone was fighting here, and had a good resistance to the Honkai energy.

Of whom they would meet was a fateful encounter, an event foreseen by the Will of Honkai as the plan was slowly coming into fruition.

A/N: Yes, ELF Bella is a thing in this fic. Consider this one of the other divergent to the main story line.
