Chapter 05: "Gym Battle Time – Hiroto Maehara"

Present Day

Priniada City
Exterior, 10:10am
"A Secret Message"

As Maehara and Kiyoko laughed while sitting and telling stories from various encounters in the previous chapter, something vibrated from Maehara's phone…and it's a message.

"Oh, Kiyoko, stay here," instructed Maehara, telling Kiyoko to stay here. "I got a message full of confidentiality."

"Okay, Maehara-nii-chan," thanked Kiyoko. "I won't go anywhere but stay here."

Maehara gave Kiyoko a reassuring headshake as he went to a secret place. Kiyoko checked out her Pokémon from her party to level up.

As Maehara stayed in a secret place, he took out his phone and read the message he received. It was someone who texted him, and in the first place, and this caused him to sweat-drop, before his calm-and-collected composure made him quietly sane. He looked at the message from his phone and read it.

Dear Maehara,

I see you're ready to challenge Kiyoko to a gym battle, do you? If Kiyoko succeeds in a gym battle against you and receives your gym badge, I'll be darn happy to be pleased, and if she fails, I want you to give her a request for a rematch as remedial in order to pass as a second chance. No more chances after second. The entire Kunu Pokémon League does not make more than a second chance to readmit for a trainer of such their skill when they pass, should they fail or give up of their ultimate test.

Once Kiyoko defeats you in a gym battle, it's a test of strength, knowledge, and skill. I'll meet both of you inside the Priniada gym. I'll tell her where to go to the second city after Priniada. I'll accompany her for a walk since her older brother, Karma Akabane. She'll meet the second gym leader who specializes of their respective type. Maehara, you always were a born gym leader of clever witting and strategy, thanks, especially, to your Normal-types like Lopunny. I'll meet you sometime at the end of your gym battle. Thank you for your cooperation. And I promise I'll meet the young Akabane sibling who became a Pokémon trainer.

With appreciation,

Hinano Kurahashi
Santabelle City Gym Leader

As Maehara read the entire message, there is someone he knew who predicted about his gym battle with Kiyoko: It is Hinano Kurahashi, the gym leader of her city, Santabelle.

"Kurahashi? Santabelle?" thought Maehara. "Are you really spying on us at Priniada City, too?"

As Maehara thought about Kurahashi spying on him of his gym battle with Kiyoko, he started replying on text to Kurahashi.

"Kurahashi, what the heck is that!?" texted Maehara. "Is that some kind of blackmail, or a prediction just to spy on us?"

Maehara sent a reply to Kurahashi, who received it. She then precedes to text him of his reply.

"This isn't blackmail, Mr. Nice Guy," texted Kurahashi with a reply. "It's prediction, and I didn't mean to spy on you both, silly! The entire Pokémon League has gotten their eyes on you, and so has mine!"

"Geez, you really are a honey-baiting child, acting too flouncy of your positivity and even airheaded complexity."

"Hey! Not nice, you meanie! Your girlfriend, now your ex, just dumped you years ago until you made her cry as your humiliation process!" :P

"Fine! You win! You happy now? I'll stop calling you both 'child' and 'airhead' from now on. Sheesh, you really are the cutest!"

"Aww, thanks! And I should stop talking to you about your past by total humiliation. You really are the handsome one!"

"Thanks, Kurahashi. Come by my gym to watch my battle with Kiyoko for a gym badge. Feel free to go anytime."

"Yay!" ;)

As both Maehara and Kurahashi exchanged text replies from their phones, from upsetting to wholesome, Maehara walked to where Kiyoko stayed and turned off of his phone.

"Oh, who's texting you, Maehara-nii-chan?" asked a curious Kiyoko.

"Ah, it's Hinano Kurahashi," answered Maehara explanatorily. "She's the gym leader of Santabelle City!"

"Hold on, Santabelle? She really looked like Viola from Pokémon XY." Kiyoko made a grin, being so smart to Maehara.

Maehara chuckled. "You always got a knack for references, too, Kiyoko. She's the female Bug-type gym leader since Viola, and the third, just like Burgh, the leader of Castelia City in Unova Region."

"Maehara-nii-chan, you really are smart, too, just like me and my brother. What time is it now?"

"It's 10:20am, and yet 10 minutes mo-"

Before Maehara can finish his sentence, a strange figure called him.

"Maehara!" said a strange figure, waving their hand.

"Oh, it's Kurahashi!" greeted Maehara. "Hey there!"

"Nice to meet you!" replied the strange figure was Kurahashi. She turned to Kiyoko. "Oh, what's your name?"

"Kiyoko Akabane," answered Kiyoko. "What's your name, too?"

"Ah, my name is Hinano Kurahashi. And I'm the Santabelle City Gym Leader."

"Wait, Santabelle?" curiously asked the two, Kiyoko and Maehara.

"Santabelle is a city not far from the previous one," explained Kurahashi. "The previous one after here is a gym leader who specializes a type of their own. I'm also a Bug-type gym leader."

As Kurahashi finished her introduction to Kiyoko and Maehara, she let out a smile so bright that wowed them.

"Wow, Kurahashi-nee-chan looked so cute!" remarked Kiyoko.

"And it's stunning," added Maehara, who started to blush.

"Oh, Maehara-nii-chan, are you blushing at Kurahashi-nee-chan?" Kiyoko smiled evilly like a Nasty Plot from Maehara's blushed-up face.

"Uh, no! Why would I do that?" asked Maehara, denying Kiyoko's question. This caused Kurahashi to snap out of her bright smile.

"Guess you two blushed at each other!" replied Kiyoko with a giggle, causing Kurahashi and Maehara to blush like hot temperatures.

"Hey! We're gym leaders, not some lovey-dovey couple!" replied Kurahashi and Maehara in sync, being flustered at Kiyoko.

"Oh~, two gym leaders sitting on a tree," said Kiyoko, singing a nursery rhyme to embarrass the two. "K-I-S-S-I-N-G."

"It's not what you think!" said Kurahashi and Maehara, causing Kiyoko to snicker at ruining their moment. "We're just friends and fellow gym leaders, you know! We're not lovers."

Kiyoko shrugged calmly at the two. "Is that when our time's been wasted?"

Kurahashi and Maehara snapped, causing the nice guy to look at the time from his phone.

"Oh, I almost forgot!" alarmingly said Maehara. "It's our gym battle! Let's go, everyone!"

Kiyoko, Kurahashi, and Maehara headed to the Priniada City Gym.

"Preparation of Gym Battle Time"

As the three entered the Priniada gym, they gasped in awe as the gym has looked clean of its surroundings, containing a clean flooring, rugs and carpets, and what's more, a sanded board to prevent moves from being messy, depending on type. And they met a person inside it.

"Hey, it's Isogai!" said Maehara, waving his hand to the person. "Hey, Isogai! Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you, too," politely said the person was Yuuma Isogai, Maehara's best friend. "Hi, everyone."

"Hi there, Isogai," cheerfully greeted Kurahashi to Isogai, before pointing to Kiyoko. "And this is Kiyoko, Karma's kid sister, who became a Pokémon trainer waiting to battle Maehara for the gym badge. And she's quite-"

"Intelligent," finished Kiyoko during Kurahashi's sentence.

"Ah, so you're Kiyoko Akabane," said Isogai. "Nice to meet you. Are you ready for your gym battle?"

"Yes, Isogai-nii-chan." Kiyoko gave Isogai a headshake. "I'm now ready, but no interruptions."

"No interruptions? What's that?"

"Oh, she means that it's Team Rocket," explained Maehara. "We'll explain later, after the battle."

"Okay. Stay on your field positions." Isogai instructed Kiyoko and Maehara to their respective fields as they are ready for battle. Kurahashi went to the sidelines as to watch the two battling.

"Here're the rules," instructed Isogai. "Each trainer has two Pokémon from their party, and this battle will be a classic competition."

"Wait," seconded Kurahashi by asking to Isogai. "What does classic competition mean?"

"A classic competition is a type of gym battle in which two challengers are not allowed to substitute their Pokémon by switching in case when they get tired or are on low HP. Also, since Kiyoko chose extreme difficulty, both challengers are not allowed to use items, especially those of healing."

"Ah, okay. Go on, please continue. I'll enjoy watching this battle, too." Kurahashi watched the battle as the two begin it.

Kiyoko and Maehara looked at each other, with their competitive look.

"Battle… begin!" declared Isogai, as Kiyoko and Maehara sent out their Pokémon from their respective Poké Balls.

"Go! Drizzile!" commanded Kiyoko, sending out her Poké Ball containing Drizzile.

"You, too, Stufful!" commanded Maehara, sending out his Pokémon containing Stufful. "Wait, Drizzile?"

Kiyoko took out her Pokédex, with Kunudon explaining about Drizzile.

"Drizzile, the Water Lizard Pokémon and the evolved form of Sobble. A highly intelligent Pokémon that is capable of placing traps everywhere, so enemies cannot sneak up, even using sneak attacks against it. It dislikes being forced to do anything due to losing."

"Since your Sobble evolved into Drizzile," said Maehara. "But my Stufful here is capable of having such strength equal to that of a hundred men."

"You're awesome, Maehara-nii-chan, but so is your Stufful. Let's do this!"

Kiyoko and Maehara continued their battle after an exchange of wholesome comments about their Pokémon.

"Drizzile, use Reflect!" commanded Kiyoko, as her Drizzile summoned a blue wall of light to take less damage from physical attacks.

"Use Baby-Doll Eyes, Stufful!" commanded Maehara, as his Stufful opened his eyes, sending pink gleams to the lizard Pokémon, lowering its Attack stat.

"I like that move much," stated Kiyoko. "But my Drizzile doesn't have physical moves instead."

"Darn it!" thought Maehara, knowing that Kiyoko's Drizzile does not have physical attacks. "I really should have known."

"Use Bulk Up!" commanded Maehara. His Stufful flexed his muscles, now surrounded in a crimsoned orange aura that boosts his physical stats. "Kiyoko, your Drizzile may have had Reflect, but my Stufful is way strong, and even his tantrum can cause everything to break. Use Brick Break!"

"Dodge, Drizzile!" commanded Kiyoko as her Pokémon tried to stay away from Stufful's Brick Break.

Maehara commanded his Stufful and started attacking the Lizard Pokémon using Brick Break, but nearly missed its mark.

"Drizzile, Muddy Water!" commanded Kiyoko. Her Drizzile summoned a ball of brown water from his hand and threw it at Stufful, nailing a hit. This caused Stufful, now covered in mud to have his accuracy lowered.

"Such skill," thought Kurahashi. "Such power and technique, as Kiyoko's Drizzile is clever-witted because it doesn't use power from its physical attacks, but efficiency using traps."

"Stufful, rub off the dirt!" commanded Maehara, causing his Stufful to rub off dirt from Drizzile's Muddy Water. "Keep it going, and aim where Drizzile tries to sneak attack you!"

Stufful gave his trainer a reassuring headshake, getting motivated to anticipate Kiyoko's Drizzile from sneak-attacking him.

"Drizzile, Whirlpool!" commanded Kiyoko. Her Drizzile launched a short-powered vortex of water at Stufful.

"Stufful, Brick Break!" commanded Maehara. As Stufful is about to be trapped by Drizzile's Whirlpool, he reacted quickly by his fours and precedes to attack the Lizard Pokémon with Brick Break, with one of his arms surrounded in darkly-crimsoned red energy. The force of the attack caused Drizzile to get knocked back, and the wall from Reflect was shattered into pieces.

"No way! How?" asked Kiyoko.

"When your Drizzile's Reflect being broken by my Stufful's Brick Break, it breaks instantly," stated Maehara. "If a target taking less damage from Reflect suddenly appeared, Brick Break destroyed it, causing it to take damage only the normal amount as the wall broke."

"I'm close to defeat right now," thought Kiyoko. "But I have a perfect plan."

"Drizzile, make your stance!" commanded Kiyoko, telling her Drizzile to perform a stance.

"Using a stance, I see?" remarked Maehara. "Okay, Stufful, use Strength!"

Under Maehara's command, Stufful used Strength, with his arms glowing white, at Kiyoko's Drizzile head-on.

"Use Whirlpool!" commanded Kiyoko as her Drizzile dodged the attack and summoned a whirl of blue water at Stufful, causing the bear Pokémon to become trapped in the vortex. Stufful was disoriented of his movement as he was surrounded by the trapping from the move.

"Impossible… But how?"

"I found a way to trap Stufful when he was covered in mud even when he rubbed it off, then Drizzile recovered after damage from Brick Break attack. When Stufful's Strength attack tries to close in at Drizzile, so I gave him an opportunity to take a stance and use Whirlpool instead."

"Clever move, indeed. Stufful, use Strength." Stufful, with his arms glowing white, tried to strike Drizzile with power.

"Now, use Reflect!" Kiyoko commanded her Drizzile to summon a blue wall again with Reflect move and take half-damage from Stufful's Strength while bracing it. Both Pokémon were exhausted as if they were about to fight to the last breath.

"I see it; Kiyoko's Drizzile braced while on using Reflect the second time after the first one is broken by Stufful's Brick Break," thought Kurahashi. "Both Pokémon were exhausted…what's their next move?"

"Use Strength!" commanded Maehara to Stufful.

"Use Muddy Water!" commanded Kiyoko.

As both Maehara and Kiyoko commanded at the same time, their Pokémon unleashed their attacks…and ended up standing until they collapse exhaustingly.

"Stufful…"

"Drizzile…"

As prediction, Kurahashi noticed something. "It means…both of them are unable to battle because they were in an exhausted state."

Both of Trainers' Pokémon, Maehara's Stufful and Kiyoko's Drizzile, collapsed exhaustingly as they are fainted, making them unable to battle.

"It appears that both Stufful and Drizzile are unable to battle," announced Isogai. "The match is a draw. Trainers, please send out your last Pokémon."

"It's a draw, then," encouraged Maehara. "Kiyoko, do you have your last Pokémon to battle?"

"Sure, Maehara-nii-chan," said Kiyoko. "It's a good battle like the first, but I'm going to win and never lose at the same time."

"Alright, the last Pokémon I'm sending out…Lopunny!" Maehara sent out Lopunny from its Poké Ball.

"Go, Psyduck!" Kiyoko sent out Psyduck from its Poké Ball.

"Use Fake Out!" commanded Maehara, with his Lopunny dashing through Psyduck and started attacking it with the move.

"Psyduck, take a stance and don't make any moves."

Under Kiyoko's command, she instructed her Psyduck to concentrate and do a stance to ignore pain from Fake Out attack done by Maehara's Lopunny. Lopunny performed a Faked-Out elbow strike to Psyduck, dealing short damage.

"Hmm, I see. Your Psyduck seems to not move after all."

"I can predict that. Fake Out always makes the target flinch. And Psyduck isn't bothered at all, even not on movement. My Lopunny's been a well-trained Pokémon and a signature of mine, too. That Pokémon of mine is male."

"Wait, Lopunny is male!?" thought Kurahashi intriguingly. "Was that real?"

"Good match, Kiyoko, but I won't go easy on you," encouraged a motivated Maehara. "Lopunny, use your Work Up move, now!"

Lopunny gave his owner a good headshake, only to use Work Up. He let out a kiai to power up his offensive stats, with a crimsoning aura surrounding him.

"Hmm, impressive, Maehara-nii-chan," said Kiyoko. "But your Lopunny's offensive prowess has polished him of his technique, but my Psyduck still can use a trick up her sleeve."

"What trick up her sleeve?"

"Use Psych Up!"

"What the heck!?"

Under Kiyoko's clever-witted command to her Psyduck, she is surrounded by a yellowing pink aura from Lopunny's stat boosts from his Work Up move. She became stronger as she got the boost.

"Now that's clever-witted thinking, Kiyoko," encouraged Maehara. "But my Lopunny has developed buffs from his stats, and now he'll outmatch your Psyduck! Use Mega Punch!"

On Maehara's command, one of Lopunny's arms glows white, and he then proceeds to punch Psyduck.

"Use Zen Headbutt!" commanded Kiyoko, as her Psyduck's head started glowing in faint-pinked blue energy and rammed Lopunny. Lopunny got knocked back by the attack, and then got up.

"No freaking way!" thought Kurahashi amazingly. "Her Psyduck adapted the style of Maehara's Lopunny? Amazing!"

"Lopunny, get up!" said Maehara, telling his Lopunny to stand up. "Don't give up, and use Low Sweep!"

Lopunny gave his trainer a headshake, and as he then proceeds to slide-kick Psyduck, which aimed only at her legs.

As Lopunny slide-kicked his opponent, Kiyoko's Psyduck went on her composure to focus without feeling pain.

"Use Waterfall!" commanded Kiyoko, as her Psyduck takes action after enduring her opponent's attack. She then opens her eyes and proceeds to rush Lopunny with a tackle, leaving blue water streaked from her back during dash. The impact is so strong that it knocked Lopunny into the wall, causing him to get exhausted.

"Lopunny, get up!" called Maehara to his Pokémon. "I know you can still battle!"

Before Lopunny can get up after being called by his trainer, he collapsed as if he were knocked unconsciously.

"Lopunny is unable to battle," announced Isogai. "The winner is Psyduck, and the victor is Kiyoko Akabane."

Isogai raised his green flag as challenger, and declared Kiyoko Akabane the winner of the match.

"Lopunny, you did great," said an encouraged Maehara to his Lopunny.

"I'm fine," replied Lopunny. He gave his trainer headshake.

"Take a good rest." Maehara recalled Lopunny back into its Poké Ball.

"Wow, what a match!" thought Kurahashi before smiling happily as she witnessed Kiyoko being the winner of the match. "I'm proud Kiyoko got her first victory…and, even a gym badge, too. Also, you need one more badge as two so you can battle me in Santabelle Gym!"

Kurahashi, having witnessed about Kiyoko's first victory, texted Karma about her first victory against Maehara.

"Karma, your sister Kiyoko has won her first gym battle," texted Kurahashi happily. "I'm always proud that she got her first gym badge against Maehara."

"Kurahashi, you, too?" texted Karma. "I see. You witnessed my sister winning her first gym battle against Maehara. I'm really glad."

"Thanks, and once she has two gym badges, she can challenge me to a battle…on two tests."

"What tests?"

"For Kiyoko, in order to win against me and receive my gym badge, there are two tests. One, to challenge me to a gym battle, and two, she has to prove me of worth, both mine and hers, with Mega Evolution test, whether she wins or loses (it doesn't bother anyway). I want her to test my wits and strength as well as skill and quick reaction."

"Two tests you made? Now that's fun and challenging for Kiyoko. She's fearless, and has high-level intellect, since mine, to face any kind of adversity she experienced. I'm proud of her, and so are you. And beware of Team Rocket, too. Stay alert always. Even in Santabelle, and if those thieves get in the way of people, even yours, stop them at all costs."

"Thanks for the remarks, Karma. I'll accompany her to the next city after Priniada. The next gym leader she'll face is Meg Kataoka from Blemarine City."

"Hold up, Kurahashi. Did you say Meg Kataoka?"

"Yes! She's the gym leader of Blemarine City who specializes in Water-types."

"Okay. Once you congratulate Kiyoko of her first victory, send me a message of Maehara's gym badge as picture. Kiyoko will be proud, and please take care of her. I'll be seeing you, and don't forget, say hi to Meg for me, too."

"Thanks, Karma, and I promise I'll take good care of Kiyoko as well."

Kurahashi and Karma ended their texts from their phones. Kurahashi now then proceeds to go to Maehara and Kiyoko.

"Congratulations, Kiyoko," encouraged Maehara. "From now on, in honor of defeating me during our battle, you received Classic Badge."

"Kiyoko received the Classic Badge from Maehara."

Kiyoko received the badge from Maehara, which is shaped like five stars, with one of each size, smallest to largest, and formed into a spiral.

"Since you have that badge, I'll give you this," said Maehara to Kiyoko, giving her a reward, called "Work Up."

"Work Up is a Normal-type move," explained Maehara to Kiyoko. "It is a move that raises both the user's Attack and Special Attack stats."

Kiyoko gasped in awe, and so does Kurahashi, who looked happily satisfied.

He accessed his phone to send the TR into Kiyoko's in the Technical Record App.

"Wow, Kiyoko, you did it!" cheerily said Kurahashi. "You get the first badge, and then I'll take you to the next city!"

"Thanks, Hinano-nee-chan," encouraged Kiyoko, smiling at Kurahashi with a lot of bliss. Both Maehara and Isogai clapped in celebration and smiled happily.

Celebratory Victory

As everyone entered the Pokémon Center, they met a face…and they saw the nurse, Yukiko Kanzaki, and met her for the first-time.

"Hello there, everyone," greeted Kanzaki. "How can I help you?"

Maehara and Kiyoko smiled at Kanzaki. They requested her to heal Pokémon from both their parties.

"I'll heal Pokémon quickly done." Kanzaki proceeded to heal Pokémon of both Maehara and Kiyoko. Kanzaki smiled at them satisfactorily.

"Thanks, Kanzaki," thanked Maehara. Kiyoko bowed thankfully to the nurse in respect.

"Kiyoko, I see that you beat the gym leader Maehara before receiving Classic Badge."

Kiyoko gave the nurse a headshake reassuringly.

"Kiyoko really is smart, Kanzaki, just like her brother," remarked Kurahashi.

"Oh, Kurahashi, I remember you. You're from Santabelle City, right?"

"Yes, and I'm also one of the best gym leaders of the entire Kunu region-"

But before Kurahashi can finish her reply to Kanzaki, something happened…

"Guys!" shouted the man warningly. "There's a thievery incident at Priniada City!"

"Okajima!?" surprisingly said Kurahashi, looking at the man, who now is known as Okajima. "What happened?"

"Thieves try to steal peoples' Pokémon…inside the truck! I saw them…there are two people and a talking cat. Please, someone stop them!"

"Team Rocket," explained Kiyoko sensibly. "They're bad guys who steal peoples' Pokémon and use them for both their own purposes and gain."

"Team Rocket!?" said Isogai and Maehara alarmingly, hearing Kiyoko's explanation. "Those thieves are up to no good."

"Team Rocket?" said Kanzaki sorrowfully after hearing Kiyoko's explanation. "Oh, no…"

"Don't worry, Kanzaki," said a reassured Maehara. "I think someone else can stop them."

"I'll do it, Kanzaki," signaled Kurahashi, raising her hand. "I'll handle this situation. I'll do this on my own and be right back."

"Kurahashi, wait," replied Okajima. "Are you handling this alone? The officers Chiba and Hayami will take care of this."

"Okay, I'll have those thieves blasted off. If they're heading to the base, I'll have their tracks disrupted. Chiba and Hayami will take care of rescuing stolen Pokémon. Everyone, I'll be back."

"Right!" said everyone as Kurahashi went to the exit to stop Team Rocket from reaching their base with the truck containing Pokémon stolen from other people.

The Truck Chase at Priniada

As Kurahashi went outside the Pokémon Center and then back to the city, she used a magnifying glass app from her phone to find tracks where the thieves are. Something beeped, and the path leads to the truck.

"Ribombee, come on out!" said Kurahashi, sending out Ribombee from its Poké Ball.

"What's wrong, Kurahashi?" asked Ribombee to her owner.

"Team Rocket tried to steal Pokémon inside the truck. I have to stop them."

"Okay, I'll Speed Swap you just in case, and they're going afar before they reach into their base."

Kurahashi gave her Pokémon a reassuring headshake, and Ribombee used Speed Swap on her trainer, and this allowed her to run at Mach 20 speed like Koro-sensei. Ribombee sat onto her trainer's shoulders as Kurahashi proceeded to chase the truck Team Rocket hijacked.

The Halt

As Kurahashi ran at Mach 20 speed, Team Rocket, while inside the truck, were satisfied at their thieving attempt to steal Pokémon…until someone showed up, blocking their way.

"Well, the boss will be satisfied if we deliver these stolen Pokémon to him," said Jessie.

"He'll no longer stress us of our failure!" replied James. Except for Meowth, who always kept cool-and-collected.

"Well, our mission is a success-" Before Jessie can finish, she stepped on the brake pedal to see the figure that blocked their way.

"Hold it right there!" said Kurahashi with her arms rose as a sign of blocking. "You're not gonna steal Pokémon away back to your basement!"

"Hey, who the heck are you!?" angrily asked Jessie. "Get out of our way!"

"You're blocking it!" angrily yelled James, and this caused Meowth to wake up.

"For the love of…go away, Twerp!" angrily replied Meowth, which caused him to fume.

"I'm not gonna let you-", warned Kurahashi, only to be interrupted by someone who's on her side.

But before Kurahashi can finish, two people appeared, and whoever she saw were the two officers, now known as the sniper duo Rinka Hayami and Ryunosuke Chiba.

"Hayami, Chiba, what's going on?" asked Kurahashi.

"They're stealing Pokémon inside the truck as a plan to lure people," explained Hayami.

"And they're heading to the base in order to send them to the Rocket HQ," added Chiba explanatorily.

"I'll handle these guys," said Kurahashi. "They now are mine."

"Kurahashi, it's too dangerous," warned Chiba. "Your Pokémon are gonna get hurt."

"We don't want to see you lose while on a handicapped match," said Hayami calmly. "You'll never be able to win like this."

"Relax, Chiba and Hayami. I got this."

The sniper duo gave Kurahashi a reassuring headshake, giving her time to stop the villains.

"Twerps on blocking our way?" said the Team Rocket trio, before performing their motto. Chiba, Hayami, and Kurahashi started listening of the Team Rocket motto.

"Prepare for trouble, and stealing is our aim!" said Jessie.
"And make it double, yet our success is only fame!" said James.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people with-"

"Ribombee, Bug Buzz!" commanded Kurahashi to her Ribombee. Under her trainer's command, Ribombee starts flapping her wings and lets out a damaging soundwave, with sounded rings colored bright-yellow, in which damages Team Rocket of their hearing and interrupting their motto.

"HEY! WHAT GIVES!" angrily yelled Jessie with a temper tantrum, only to be restrained by Meowth and James.

"Cool your jets, Jessie!" instructed James and Meowth while clutching to Jessie. "That's en-"

Before James and Meowth can continue, Kurahashi angrily continued, going mercilessly all-out to the thieves responsible for their theft.

"I won't let you thieves start stealing Pokémon from others!" Kurahashi sent out another Pokémon from its Poké Ball. "Go, Pinsir!"

"Wait, Pinsir?" curiously asked Chiba and Hayami.

"I got this!" replied Kurahashi to the sniper duo. "Pinsir, Mega Evolve!"

"Pinsir's Pinsirite is reacting to Kurahashi's Mega Clasp!"

As Kurahashi handles the thieves, Kurahashi closed her eyes and performs a stance that initiated the Mega Evolution of her Pinsir. Pinsir was surrounded in an aura colored bright yellow and sky blue, and thus caused everyone to gasp in awe. Kurahashi's Pinsir became its Mega-Evolved form, thanks to Kurahashi's power from her Key Stone, Mega Clasp.

Pinsir's Aerilate: "Pinsir is surrounded in a storming aura!"

"No way," said Chiba. "Kurahashi's Pinsir became Mega Pinsir?"
"You're right," explained Hayami. "Kurahashi is the inheritor of Mega Evolution, and she attained its power since the entire faculty of the Kunu Academy Pokémon School witnessed her of its potential."
"Alright, let's watch together when we witnessed Kurahashi of her potential during Mega Evolution."
"Got it."

Chiba and Hayami, witnessing Kurahashi of her potential of Mega Evolution, gasped in awe before watching. The Team Rocket trio, too, witnessed Kurahashi as they were distracted during their attempt to escape from her merciless clutches.

"Really? Do tell?" said Jessie.
"I don't see that kind of power before," said James.
"Uh-oh," said Meowth. "That's the Mega Pokémon that sent us blasting off again!"

The three proceeded to run away from the clutches of Kurahashi and Pinsir.

"You three are punishable for the theft of stealing Pokémon," mercilessly said Kurahashi. "And I won't let you get away this time, and then, you all will be sorry. Pinsir, Giga Impact!"

Under Kurahashi's command, her Pinsir, now in insect wings thanks to its Mega Evolution, flew from the sky and then dropkicked Team Rocket while surrounded in a windy aura from both Aerilate and Giga Impact combined. The attack is so powerful, and its force is extremely tremendous that Team Rocket were easily blasted off into the sky.

"Why did that Twerp Mega Evolve their Pokémon so easily?" sorrowfully said Jessie.
"We're not up to the task at once," sadly groaned James.
"We failed all this time, and yet our boss isn't satisfied of our failure," sadly said a winced Meowth.
"We're blasting off again!" said the three in sync.

"My mission is complete," said a calm Kurahashi, recalling Pinsir from its Poké Ball. "I must return. Oh, the stolen Pokémon? Chiba, Hayami, we'll help you out to return the Pokémon stolen from Team Rocket."

"Got it," reassuringly said Chiba and Hayami as they helped return the stolen Pokémon back to the city. They, along with Kurahashi, recovered the truck, stolen from Team Rocket, and removed their symbol.

Kurahashi's Arrival

As Kurahashi and the sniper-turned-officer-duo finally recovered the truck that was stolen from Team Rocket and also the Pokémon stolen by them, they arrive at the Pokémon Center.

"Oh, hi Kurahashi," greeted everyone to Kurahashi before sniper duo. "And hello, too, Chiba and Hayami."

Kurahashi, Chiba, and Hayami waved their arms as greeting to everyone inside the Pokémon Center before smiling.

"Oh, let me heal your Pokémon ASAP," said Kanzaki as the trainers lent out their Pokémon to heal. She returned parties of Pokémon from their owners.

She then looked at Okajima. "Hi, Okajima."

"Oh, hi Kanzaki," shyly greeted Okajima.

"Wait, Okajima?" curiously said Chiba and Hayami as Okajima is ready to introduce himself to everyone else.

"Hello everyone, my name is Taiga Okajima. I'm a Pokémon Trainer, and also the first to witness the criminal thieves called Team Rocket." Everyone continued to listen to Okajima after his introduction. "As Kiyoko said, they're thieves that try to steal peoples' Pokémon and therefore use them for both their personal gains and deeds."

Everyone gave him a headshake of approval. "To be honest, I'm also one of the stat trainers to specialize in Pokémon that have high speed stat."

"Hold on," said Chiba to Okajima. "You said high speed stat?"

"Seems clever enough," added Hayami. "Okajima, you really are a trickster…and have a knack for something sneaky."

"Oh, don't be silly, both of you," commented Okajima to the sniper duo. "I got tricks for deceptive tactics thanks to my speedy Pokémon, and among them is my Whimsicott."

"Wow," replied everyone. Okajima looked at the time from his phone. "Oh, look at the time! I got plenty of everything to do and don't wanna waste it. See you around."

Okajima made to exit his way from inside the Pokémon Center until he went somewhere. The rest looked curiously.

"So…anything else?" questioned Isogai, causing the rest to make strange looks at each other than him.

"I'll go with you, Isogai," replied Maehara. "Let's clean the gym together."

Isogai gave his best friend a headshake, as they went to the gym to clean up the mess together.

"We'll remain vigilant at all times in case Team Rocket show up," said Hayami.

"And to clean up the mess they have made," finished Chiba, looking at his partner. "Hayami, let's go."

"Sure thing, Chiba." Hayami turned to everyone else, in this case, Kurahashi, Kiyoko, and Kanzaki.

"See you around," said Hayami, waving her hand a farewell to the three. Both her and Chiba walked out of the center.

"So, Kiyoko and Kurahashi, where are you off to?" asked Kanzaki.

"To Blemarine City!" answered Kurahashi. This shocked Kanzaki.

"Blemarine City? I like that place. It is quite peaceful."

"Yes, and the next gym leader, after Maehara, Kiyoko will face is Meg Kataoka."

"Wait, Kurahashi-nee-chan," responded Kiyoko. "Who is Meg Kataoka?"

"The Water-type gym leader, of course!" answered Kurahashi to Kiyoko. "She now is known as the Seafaring Captaining Diver."

"Wait, Meg is the Seafaring Captaining Diver?" asked Kanzaki again about Meg Kataoka.

"Yes, she is," honestly answered Kiyoko. "I have a Psyduck that, too, is named after her, calling her "Megu-nee." She really has a knack for Psych Up. Using Electric- or Grass-types will do better work against her Water-types."

Kanzaki and Kurahashi gasped about Kiyoko's secret. "For real?!"

"Of course, and once I beat her, I'll receive the River Badge from her."

"And Technical Record "Liquidation," of course," clumsily said Kurahashi before smiling at Kiyoko.

"Alright, Kurahashi-nee-chan will accompany me to the next city, too, Miss Kanzaki."

"Okay, let's go to the next city!" Kurahashi and Kiyoko waved their arms to Kanzaki as goodbye.

"Thanks, Kiyoko and Kurahashi," politely said Kanzaki. "Have a safe trip."

Outside Priniada City to Route 2
Before the Gate, 11:35am
"To Blemarine City!"

As Kiyoko and Kurahashi made their exit to Priniada City, they headed to the second route… until something vibrated in Kiyoko's phone.

"Oh, one sec," signaled Kiyoko to Kurahashi, grabbing her phone and looked at information on where they are heading next.

"Hello, Trainer!" greeted Kunudon. "What can I help you?"

"Ah, Kurahashi-nee-chan and I were heading to Blemarine City," answered Kiyoko.

"Blemarine City? It is a city known for beaches, museums, and food shacks."

"Wow, I can't wait to see."

"Oh, one more thing, Kiyoko and Kurahashi: Meg Kataoka is the current gym leader of that city, after her brother, who stepped down of his position as gym leader to help others part-time, as he gave her new position as his successor."

"I'm the one who mentioned Meg Kataoka before Kiyoko," explained Kurahashi. "She really is good at diving and swimming, and as well as captaining her Pokémon as their leader. Her moniker is the Seafaring Captaining Diver."

"That's what I'd like to hear, Kurahashi," replied Kunudon. "She is at the underwater area of the city where she dove, including the sunken ship. Aquatic Pokémon are friendly to her, and beware of shipwrecks and whirlpools. Those are against the policies of the entire city, even exploration and also at night during visitations."

"Thanks, Kunudon," greeted Kiyoko.

"And, I sense Team Rocket of their next activity from that city, so be prepared. Kurahashi, please alert Meg when they come up on something to no good."

"I got it," replied Kurahashi. "In case of Team Rocket, we'll stop them no matter what."

Kunudon and Kiyoko smiled at Kurahashi of her bright motivation.

"Glad you're both welcome, Kiyoko and Kurahashi. I'll add the info for later! See you around!"

As Kunudon finished his explanation before goodbye greeting to Kiyoko and Kurahashi, Kiyoko turned off her phone and placed it onto her pocket.

"Well, Kiyoko, it's time for us to head back to the city," said Kurahashi. Kiyoko gave her a nod. "Let's go to Blemarine City!"

Kurahashi and Kiyoko laughed as they walked to their next location: Blemarine City.

Author's Note: This story's chapter really is long! And I'm so super-tired of every portion that is quite longer than the previous chapters. New characters introduced are Hinano Kurahashi, Santabelle City Gym Leader; and Yuuma Isogai, the referee. There are also Team Rocket's motto gags that went unbelievable because of everyone from starting Chapter 2 and beyond that they commanded their Pokémon to use their attacks and acted as if they did not care at all, unlike in the anime.

By the way, it's Kiyoko and Kurahashi's time for a middle walk as they headed to Blemarine City, and its Gym Leader is Meg Kataoka, aka "Seafaring Captaining Diver." Tune in next time, folks.
