Recently I've been replaying the Starforce series, of which I am a longtime fan, and decided to try my hand at writing for the franchise. Good fics for this series are far and few between, with most updating somewhere between once to three times every seven years, so you could guess why I want to breathe some new life into the fandom.

This particular story was spawned by the little idiosyncrasy of Geo, our titular series protagonist for those who have never played the series, who constantly cries about pacifism and avoiding conflict, before inevitably being dragged into one anyway, proceeds to utterly tear it a new ass through the use of competent movement and battle card combinations. Just strikes me as funny. I look forward to seeing where this goes both as a story and in terms of mood, cause God knows I wander through emotions completely away from what I expect to do most times.

I still own none of the properties I write about here. I don't claim to, nor do I ever. What I do own is the time I use to write, and any bits thrown towards me help me write for longer, as well as eat while doing so. Available here, is a link to my P A Treon. And if you're looking for something not once a month try here, which is a link to a pool, for those of you looking to commission or just some incentive for me. If these links aren't available, check my profiles! Any of em!

Enjoy.

Chapter 1: The Battle Begins

OR

IT CAME...FROM OUTER SPACE!...KICK ITS ASS?

The stars were always the same.

Constellations told the stories of great beasts and battles, some shined bright enough that they could be followed for guidance, and others streaked through the night carrying hope and wishes in their wake.

For one Geo Stelar, the stars were as cruel as they were beautiful. Something to be watched night after night, just in case they tried to take someone else from him. Or something else equally angst-ridden or poetic, it was mostly part of the assignment from Teacherman about assigning meaning to daily events in life.

Would the last sentence work, or did it come off too depressing and slightly problematic? Geo honestly didn't know.

In any other place, a 10 year old doing homework alone on a bench at night in a park would be a sign for concern, but not for Geo. He had been here pretty much every night for the last 6 years after all, even...even if it was just himself the last 2. Everyone who had worked in the park was aware of him by this point, having seen or spoken with him one time or another, simply working away or staring up at the sky for hours at a time, his fathers glasses hiding his eyes. It was about as sad as it sounded.

Still, it was only about a 10 minute walk to his house, and he always made sure to go back before it got too late, or too cold. It was just part of life, that Geo spent the majority of his life with his head to the stars.

Eventually, the homework was appropriately dramatic, and thus completed, and Geo turned his attention to what normally had his attention. He flipped down his fathers glasses, his Visualizer, and the sky was awash in color.

With the Visualizer on, it was a completely different world, a technicolor ocean of Waves, every object and star radiating their own in ebbs and tides that Geo had given up trying to categorize and sort ages ago when he ran through three separate notebooks just between what he saw from the viewing platform. The Visualizer was a device that allowed the wearer to actually view electromagnetic waves, and were something his father felt would change the world...if he ever was able to finish them. There was some missing component, some critical piece that prevented them from reaching their true potential, leaving them in this state of hazy view that, while pretty, was essentially useless.

Only three prototypes were ever made, and Geo had one of them. The other was with Mr. Boreal, and the last...went down with the Space Station Peace.

If any tears slid down Geo's face at the sudden thought, it was because of how bright some of the waves were tonight, deep blues and greens blinding even if he closed his eyes. Nothing more.

...Wait. Blue and Green?

Geo's eyes snapped open, trail of thought gone as his watery gaze locked on to the violently pulsing ball of green and blue, rolling around in tight circles and jagged lines like a super-ball thrown in a fish tank. The cause of it seemed to be a bright while dot that was moving towards the previous light like a guided laser, focused lines and arrow-sharp edges.

He had never seen anything like it. His eyes struggled to adjust with the speeds they were moving, mixing and blending with the prevalent Orange and Purples of the night sky like fish breaching ocean waves, but it became much easier when he finally saw the Blue light appear directly in front of him, making Geo snap back.

Before he could even scream though, he felt a shock from the back of his head, and the world suddenly came into focus.

Geo felt like he couldn't dare breath as, through his Visualizer, he saw the Blue Green light was a Blue armored...being. It had a sharp muzzled maw with an almost dog-like head that opened up with bear-trapesce teeth, leading into a broad chest marked with light white lines, all held together over a body of constantly pulsing green energy. It was terrifying, to say the least.

Then he heard its voice over the sound of his thumping heart, and realized it was talking to.

"-id! I said, where did you get that Visualizer, Kid!" The being almost seemed to growl, and the only thing that kept Geo from flinching back was the grip he now realized the creature had from its energy-like hands on the sides of his head.

"I-It was my dad's!" It didn't stop him from stuttering though, half from fear, half from the sudden turn of topic.

"'Dad'? That was...Right, he said something like that once. Than, that makes you...Kelvin's child?" The being murmured for a moment, before nodding and saying something that blew Geo's world for the second time in three minutes.

"Wha! Yes! Kelvin is my Dad's name! How do you know that! DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM! WHERE HE IS!?" The fear was gone from Geo's form, he didn't care that his hands went directly through the being when he tried to grab it back, he needed answers!

The being gave a small chuff, before crossing his arms and floating back a few inches, looking upward every few seconds.

"I get that you got questions, and I'll answer them when I can, but we got some bigger problems to deal with first. Look around us for a minute."

Geo was ready to lay into the being for trying to distract him, but did what get a glace around, before double-taking. All around them in the sky were what looked like tiny yellow hardhats with too big eyes and pickaxes held to their sides, swarming along the edges of the orange roads that were now around them. Geo turned fearful eyes back to the being, who nodded.

"These Mettena are like damn hounds with my scent, and they won't give us a minute of peace unless we take care of them. You ready to go, child of Kelvin?" The being spoke casually, rubbing his claws together as if to sharpen them, even as Geo freaked out a bit at that.

"Wait, what do you mean, 'ready to go'! No! I'm not ready! Why are there viruses after you! Why can I see them now! HOW, would I help you fight! I don't even know you're name!" Geo blathered a bit as his heart fluttered in his chest, eyes locked with the being.

Then he started laughing.

"Hahaha! You sound just like your old man when I asked him the same thing! Alright then. I am Omega-Xis, an alien from the planet FM, who your father made contact with some time ago. You can see me, and the virus's around us now because I overloaded your Visualizer with my waves, giving it a new minimum threshold for its viewing spectrum, or something like that. Kelvin explained it better. Last up, for how you'll help me fight..." Omega-Xis spun around, taking an almost dive-like position as he disappeared into Geo's Transfer.

"Ahh, this is roomier than the one Kelvin had. Nice." Omega-Xis's voice came from Geo's arm, synthetic but obviously his.

"Why are you in my Transfer!" Geo hissed as he saw and heard the Mettena around him start to frenzy as they they lost track of their prey.

"I can give you all kinds of answers when this is done, I just need to you trust me for a bit more. Repeat after me. 'Denpa Henkan, your full name, On! The! Air!'" Omega-Xis explained, and Geo had no time to question as the viruses began to jump.

Geo screamed the words he was told.

"Denpa Henkan, Geo Stelar, ON! THE! AIR!"

Geo didn't know if he had died as his world was engulfed in light, feeling like he was falling in every direction for a moment before he was suddenly somewhere else, feeling, and more importantly looking, like a completely new person.

Gone were the shorts and long red shirt, replaced with a solid blue jumpsuit that covered every inch, leading into solid boots and a metal chestplate similar to Omega-Xis's, now bearing his necklace as a centerpiece. He was also wearing a helmet, after trying to touch his face and finding some kind of visor and ear covering instead.

Oh, and his left hand, previously holding his Transfer, now sat with Omega-Xis's head in its place.

The alien looked just as shocked as Geo felt.

"What the-! This wasn't supposed to happen! Why was I the... Kid. Kid, are you okay?" The head spoke as if everything was normal even as Geo move on its own towards his face.

"I...I'm okay. I'm okay. What.. what just happened?" Geo asked, honestly confused. He wanted to feel scared, panic, cry, run away from the danger, but...it all felt so far away.

Omega-Xis grimaced, as much as his muzzle would allow.

"Denpa Henkan, literally meaning Wave Change. By fusing us together, we've formed a new Wave Being that has stronger abilities than either of us would have had alone. It's only possible because we have similar wave-lengths, but you can probably guess how rare that is. I...I did this once with your father, but it was completely different than...this. But seriously, we need to take care of those pests before they do some serious damage. Do you think you can fight?" The explanation rang in Geo's ears, answering the question but leaving him with so many more. But Omega-Xis was also right, Geo could already see the Mettena start to notice they had missed their target, and were turning around for a second attempt.

The fear was starting to come back again, but as much as his knees wanted to shake, his mouth wanted to scream, all Geo could focus on was the pounding in his chest and how light he felt, like lightning in a bottle.

"No. No, I've never fought anything before...but I don't think they'll give me a choice, will they?" The tone was said with finality, but also a little bit of exasperation.

Omega-Xis gave a grim chuckle at that, but focused back at the swarm as well.

"No, they won't. But don't worry, these are small fry, only dangerous because of numbers. Take things calmly and clearly, section them out and we'll be done this in no time. Just move, and trust your instincts. I'll do the rest. Ready?"

Geo tried to gulp, but it was dry, and he rasped out a small, dry yes, before his feet left the platform, and he fought for the first time in his life.

Shots rang through his decent, striking the closest to his landing space as Omega-Xis's mouth opened wide and unleashed bolts of color and force. Some managed to angle their hats and dodge, but the majority he aimed for fell. They also left a few of their pick-axes behind, which Geo felt was especially curious.

He grabbed one as he landed, then blinked as it broke apart into a battle card, an object he had a few of as someone who regularly dealt with virus problems, but not one of those people who payed half a million zenny for a single card. It read Ground Wave 1, and Geo had no idea what to do with it.

"Oi! That data, give it to me, feed me it! If I get a data fragment, I can use it myself cause of my specialty, Predation!" Omega-Xis sounded almost excited as he still shot out at more Mettena trying to close in, so Geo wasted no time throwing the card down his maw, which he shut with a sense of eager finality.

"Now say the name and we'll use it when we get it! Use the rest of these I found in your transfer too! They got cooldowns though, I can't use things back to back without consequence!" Omega-Xis roared even as Geo felt a grin of his own grow with this revelation.

This was still scary, but...something else as well.

The Mettena were getting closer now without the barrage of shots, but Geo was ready to fix that. He watched as a few behind the pack raised their picks and sent out shockwaves in their wake, nodded, then jumped to the right.

"Predation! Sword! Gatling Gun! Plasma Gun!" As Geo stated, Omega-Xis' head shifted into a pure blue cylinder, before erupting with a thin sword that wasted no time in spearing through a Mettenta and another four as he spun in a circle. With the steps cleared, the sword lost its shape, becoming a series of gun barrels that wasted no time unleashing their payloads on the lines of Mettena about the swing their own picks. As the majority of the bullet-ridden bodies began to spark and dissolve, the barrel smoothed out one last time, becoming an almost science-fictionesce lightning ball, which shot forth a string of electricity that jumped between the last retreating Mettena.

Gone was the army of viruses. There was only one panting 10 year old boy, surrounded by zenny and card data, with a massive smile on his face.

Geo looked down at his arm, seeing Omega-Xis with a satisfied grin of his own.

"Now...About those answers."

END OF CHAPTER

Again, I have seriously no idea what this story is going to be. As a plus though, I'm using it as my chance to practice fight scenes! Also, leave your own ideas, things I can do with the sorry, fun bits with the series, I'm open to anything and everything, and attention from people always helps my muse. Maybe something with the Battle Network cast? We know the timetravel storyline was never fully formed. Ah well, questions for possible discussion later, I'ma have a shower than work on Proudly Fur Hire, then I think Wu and Till My Last Breath. Or This Again, we'll see how I feel.

Cheers!
