I decided to do a double batch first off! Really get this ball a rolling. Starforce is unique as far as Megaman games go in that they actually have a pretty good story going for it, and a majority of its characters have sympathetic or understandable reasonings for what they do, a rarity for anything with the name Mega in it. I'm also one of those people who love and see meaning in every character, even the ones people see as ungodly annoying for some reason. 'Oh no, how dare this normal person get captured by this super-powered being! SO annoying!' and so on.

Chapter 2: Battle Against Ignorance

OR

Ultra-Violence is the Other Half of the Battle

It was hard to tell why Geo couldn't sleep that night. It might have been the leftover adrenaline from his encounter earlier. It probably was because Omega-Xis was the first lead he'd had on his dad in years, since Mr. Boreal came and told him about the accident. It could have been the near doubled amount of dinner Geo had scarfed down upon returning home before collapsing into his bed to stare at his ceiling.

Whatever the reason though, Geo wasn't sleeping anytime soon. So he didn't.

Instead, he was talking with Omega-Xis.

The answers came slowly, but together they shared their stories and each got answers.

Geo discovered Omega-Xis, Mega for short, was a warrior and scout in the name of King Cepheus, the ruler of planet FM. During this job, he had encountered the Peace station and had struck a friendship with his father. From there the details got a bit sparser, but he made sure to reassure Geo that Kelvin was still alive, and that he had nothing to do with Cepheus anymore, if a bit shy about the exact reason why that was.

Mega learned that Kelvin's son was timid and shy in demeanor, but had a sense of determination to get what needed to be done that was plain as day. He had a good head on his shoulders, and would be a person he'd be glad to call, 'friend'. He also learned the kid was shockingly boring when he wasn't in imminent danger.

It was a harsh reminder to the fact that humans apparently slept anywhere between 4 to 8 whole hours per day, which left Omega-Xis whining at the mere thought, before Geo suggested he look up information and ways to entertain himself while in the Transfer, stopping the alien short in his spiel. With a shot of light, he disappeared into the machine and Geo was once again left to his thoughts...for all of 10 minutes, before his mom burst in to wake him up for breakfast.

Geo had some toast with jam before heading out for a few hours, the previous days homework already submitted and his mum starting one of her cooking streams, he was probably better off getting out before he was roped into being cameraman.

It was much more entertaining watching Mega ping-pong around the browser screen grabbing letters for the search bar and chasing different links to more like it. Like a screen-saver, but with more swearing.

After a few minutes of walking however, it seemed like the combination of distraction and tiredness settling in had its effects, as Geo bumped into someone and quickly got knocked from his feet, jolting him up to look at what he had it.

It turned out...to be a boy about a foot taller than himself and at least two and a half times the weight, looking like he'd have had an easy time knocking Geo down even if he was fully rested and paying attention. Flanking the larger than life boy were two other people, a boy half Geo's own height with a massive pair of coke-bottle glasses on his face to his left, and a blonde girl with massive hair spirals on his right.

The girl also swiftly marched forward and stuck out her hand to help Geo up, but he was more concerned with trying to imagine the sheer amount of effort such a hairstyle would take each morning, never mind what she was currently trying to do.

Maybe he was a bit more tired than he thought he was.

"Hey, c'mon! What are you waiting for, we have school to get to! Stop laying around like a lump, up, up, up!" The girl, seeming annoyed at being ignored, huffed and grabbed Geo's hand, before pulling straight up, sending the boy up to his feet with a squawk and slightly sore shoulder.

It was looking like such a good day too...

END OF CHAPTER

I was planning on making this chapter longer, but couldn't quite get the next scene feeling right. So instead, I'm skipping it in favor of more interesting stuff to follow. It kind of sucks, but it happens. More will follow later.
