"Black is such a happy color."

– Morticia Addams (Addams Family TV Series)

She doesn't know if it's because she is a corvid or that she has Isamu's extrovert personality, or both, but Chiyo loves to meet new people and make new friends. The hurtful feeling she gets everytime Chiyo's ignored, bullied, or avoided is a feeling she is unfortunately used to having. So, Chiyo knows how meaningful her friendships are, when she rarely has these relationships.

Chiyo met Shohei in third grade. She and Fumikage had been separated and placed in different classes in an attempt to stop their future "villainy". Shohei was the only one to make an effort to get to know Chiyo. Their friendship grew into a beautiful and strong bond. When they entered their second year of junior high, they entered as a couple.

Oda Shohei was considered the most popular and one of the most handsome boys in school. He had everything going for him and everyone expected nothing but the best for him. He passed all classes with honors, had been the class representative for all three years of junior high, and is one of Shiketsu's recommended students.

Tokoyami Chiyo was the outcast and gothic "delinquent". Everyone avoided her–and Tokoyami–and expected her to become a villain, even the law enforcement and the local heroes expected it. With hard work, she passed her classes with honors, became president of her school's art club, and ranked top ten in the UA Entrance Exams.

It was an odd match and no one, not even Fumikage, understood how they were together. They obviously made many mistakes, being so young, but they always pulled through and came out with an even stronger bond after each mistake.

Chiyo knew that, eventually, her relationship with Shohei would have to end. They both became two different people than when they started their relationship. She still loved Shohei, as much as her heart could give, and she always hoped–still hopes–their strong friendship will continue past the ending of their relationship.

As long as she had her dads, Fumikage, and Shohei, Chiyo didn't really need anyone else. Yeah, it upsets her when she can't have more special people in her life, but in a society where her Quirk is judged, she's fine with what she has.

"UA is being just a bit pretentious," Chiyo comments, staring up at the large door of Class 1-A with a raised eyebrow. Fumikage snorts quietly, opening the door.

"They have more than enough money to do so," He retorts, making Chiyo roll her eyes. She walks into the classroom with Fumikage, hands clasped together.

"Papa would have a field day," The goth girl states with a small smile, glancing around the barely filled room.

"He'd be fanboying so much! Cementoss is a teacher here," Grimoire squawks in Chiyo's mind. Chiyo smiles at the thought while she walks to her desk. She takes off her satchel and slides it under her chair before sitting down.

"If only I was assigned the desk behind me. I'd be able to adjust my wings more comfortably," Chiyo thinks sullenly, sighing quietly as she carefully moves her wings around her chair without bothering the student behind her.

"I'm sorry, am I in your way?" The student behind her asks politely. Chiyo turns and gives her a smile.

The student is a 15 year old girl with long black haired tied up in a spiky ponytail, fair skin, and onyx eyes. She looked pretty tall, clearly a head taller than Chiyo even with her sitting.

"No, you're not. Normal chairs are usually uncomfortable for me," The shorter teenager says, turning around more.

"She's so pretty!" Grimoire gushes inside Chiyo's head. Chiyo manages to keep her blush to her ears while she smiles.

"I'm Tokoyami Chiyo," The goth girl introduces herself brightly. Grimoire suddenly comes out, making the girl jump. Chiyo sighs while her Quirk waves rapidly to the black haired teenager.

"...and this is Grimoire, my Quirk," The goth girl says, glaring at her Quirk, "who knows that appearing suddenly can scare people and should not do it."

Grimoire whines and slumps forward, making Chiyo roll her eyes. The girl giggles and smiles brightly.

"I'm Yaoyorozu Momo. Nice to meet you Tokoyami-san, Grimoire-san," Momo says holding out her hand. Chiyo brightens up and smiles brightly, shaking her hand.

"Nice to meet you, Yaoyorozu-kun!" The corvid girl exclaims, shifting slightly in her seat.

"Hi, pretty girl!" Grimoire squawks cheerfully, making Chiyo blush and facepalm. Momo blushes and smiles bashfully.

"Th-thank you, Grimoire-san!" She says earnestly, Grimoire trilling in cheer. Chiyo sighs heavily and glares at her Quirk.

"You need to save your energy, Grim. Or, you could go mess with Fumikage," Chiyo says, pointing her head back at her twin. Grimoire slumps forward with a whine before receding back into his user.

"I do apologise about him. Grim is incredibly excited to be meeting new people," The goth girl apologizes for her Quirk, making Momo smile.

"It's quite alright, Tokoyami-san," Momo reassures brightly, making Chiyo smile.

"Yaoyorozu-san, what's your Quirk?"

"Oh, it's just a creation Quirk."

"New friends!" Grimoire shouts in Chiyo's mind in excitement. Chiyo smiles, happiness growing in her chest.

"Yeah... new friends." Hopefully.

""If you're here to make friends, then leave." Chiyo jumps at the sudden statement. She had been busy watching the interactions between three of her classmates to notice someone was outside.

"Food!" Grimoire squawks, rustling around Chiyo's mind. Chiyo tilts her head while inspecting the large yellow... caterpillar, laying in the middle of the hallway. It turns to reveal a face of a 30 year old man with ragged black hair, pale skin, and black eyes.

"It's a human, not food. Maybe next time Grim," Chiyo says sympathetically, smirking in amusement at Grimoire's annoyed squawk. She turns back around in her seat, giving Momo a smile before facing the front of the class.

The man gets out of his sleeping bag and walks into the classroom. He stops in front of the podium glaring at the quiet class.

"My name is Aizawa Shōta. I'm your homeroom teacher, nice to meet you," The man says tiredly while he starts digging through his sleeping bag.

"It's pretty sudden, but grab one of these and head out to the field." Chiyo tilts her head in confusion while staring at the blue uniform shirt in Shōta's hand.

"What are we doing? I hope it's fun!" Grimoire asks excitedly, twirling around in Chiyo's mind. Chiyo smiles in amusement, standing with the rest of her class.

"Do we not have orientation?" Fumikage asks quietly, picking up a uniform with his twin.

"I think so, but Grim is jovial about hopefully doing something fun," Chiyo shrugs with a smile. They walk out of the classroom with the others.

"Maybe it's a good thing we are not going to orientation, then. He would have burnt something down in boredom," Fumikage states dryly. Chiyo rolls her eyes and nudges his shoulder.

"Chiyo! Can I? I wanna start burn something!" Grimoire asks, brimming with excitement.

"Not on the first day."

"Don't try to deny Dark Shadow being the same chaos reveling shadow that Grimoire is," The goth girl retorts with a teasing smile. "Her dramatic entrance at last year's assembly is too much evidence for her to not be."

Fumikage doesn't answer, averting his gaze and making his twin sister laugh.

Chiyo jumps slightly when one of her female classmates brush against her wings. She pauses and turns.

"Sorry! I tripped," A 15 year old girl with curly pink hair, pink skin, and gold eyes apologizes brightly, taking a couple steps away. Chiyo smiles and waves a hand.

"No worries. Surprised me, is all," Chiyo says, going back to cutting out the back of the PE uniform jacket. "I'm Tokoyami Chiyo. It's wonderful to meet your acquaintance!"

She finishes cutting out an inverted triangle in the back of the jacket and pulls it on, carefully sliding her wings through the cut.

"I'm Ashido Mina! I love your makeup, by the way. You're incredibly talented!" Mina compliments brightly with a smile. Chiyo's wings ruffle slightly at the compliment and she smiles, brushing some of her hair out of her face.

"Thank you! My father taught me and Fumi-chan when we were younger," She says cheerfully, zipping up the jacket. She frowns slightly and brings her left wing in front of her.

"I feel like this is a dream, being at UA," Mina says, looking down at her uniform jacket. Chiyo hums in agreement, fixing the feathers that were out of place.

"It does feel like a fantastical dream, where we could wake up at any moment," Chiyo sighs with a soft smile, "but it is real all the same. To be here, training to become the next generation of heroes."

"I barely got accepted. The written exam was so hard!" Mina exclaims, putting on her jacket.

"It was quite a difficult assessment of our knowledge. I had miscalculated my expectations, but we both pulled through, it seems."

"What do you think of Aizawa-Sensei? He seems pretty strict," The pink haired teenager asks while Chiyo starts stretching out her wings.

"He is, but I would be worried for my education if he wasn't. We are training for a dangerous career. But, he seems fair as well," Chiyo answers.

"I agree with Tokoyami-san. Being a hero is a daunting responsibility, and if I was being taught by an adult who does not take it seriously, I would question the credibility of UA's status as one of the best hero schools," Momo interjects calmly.

"True dat!" Grimoire squawks, coming out of Chiyo. Chiyo sighs with an eye roll while a few of the girls scream in fright.

"Grim, I know you hate being cooped up all day, but you will scare people if you keeping popping up out of no where," Chiyo scolds him calmly, making the shadow whine.

"But, Chiyo~! It's fun!" The shadow whines, resting his head on Chiyo's shoulder.

"Everyone, this is my Quirk. His name is Grimoire, you may call him Grim. I would like to apologise for any and all future chaotic incidents he will cause," The goth girl says, a smile threatening to reveal itself.

"Hi!" The shadow waves rapidly at the other girls. Mina giggles and waves back, brightly grinning.

"Chiyo! Let's go. I wanna see Dark Shadow!" Grimoire squawks before booking it out of the locker room. Chiyo grunts at the sudden pull and rolls her eyes.

"I'll see you all on the field. I can't have Grim barging in on the boys." Chiyo waves goodbye, following after her Quirk. "Grim, be patient!"

"But, Chiyo~!"

"...I'll let you catch something on fire when we get home~."

CAW!

Hey! Hope you like the new chapter! Bit of a rough chapter. I might rewrite it later if I come up with a better idea.

Background information:

1) Corvids, specifically adult ravens aren't very social with other ravens. If they find a big carcass, they'll call other ravens over, though. Teen ravens are really social though. This is where you get the unkindnesses and conspiracies of ravens. I'm pretty sure all ravens are pretty social with humans.

a) With that said, since the Tokoyami family is a corvid/human hybrid family, they're a pretty social family and they love to party.

2) Whenever I think of a raven, or a crow, I just think of chaos following them. I don't mean that negatively, not at all. It's just, they're tricksters anyway, they love playing, and they love doing weird stuff.

b) So, Grimoire and Chiyo are purely chaotic and everyone should be afraid. Especially when they meet Shōto.

Hope you like the story so far! Bye!
