"My whole life is a dark room. One big dark room."

— Lydia Deetz (Beetlejuice)

"You look fantastic as ever, love," Chiyo states, standing on her toes to place her head on her boyfriend's shoulder. Shohei turns around with a smirk and twirls around Chiyo, dipping her.

"Not as fantastic as you, my raven," Shohei retorts smoothly, lifting Chiyo's hand and kissing her knuckles. Chiyo smiles, ears burning pink while Shohei lifts her up again.

"Where will we be going for our engagement?" She asks curiously, linking hands with the light haired teenager. Shohei smiles mischievously and raises his other hand, twirling it around. A bouquet of snapdragons, butterfly weeds, and yellow roses appear in his hand, tied by gold and silver ribbons. Chiyo brightens even more, immediately eyeing the ribbons.

"Shohei!" She exclaims. "These are lovely!"

"Always for you, Chi," Shohei says, handing over the bouquet. Chiyo grabs it and smells the flowers. She hums in satisfaction and messes with the ribbons.

"I appreciate it, Sho," She says, hugging her boyfriend. Her wings shiver when Shohei runs a hand through her feathers.

"Let's go. I reserved a table at the lovely restaurant Nanna Hye-mi owns," Shohei says, breaking the hug and wrapping an arm around the goth girl's waist.

"Of course," Chiyo giggles and leans into Shohei.

"How was your day? I saw some clips of reporters trying to get into UA grounds," He asks curiously, glancing down. Chiyo frowns slightly and rolls her neck.

"Incredibly stressful. Fumi-chan and I managed to miss the reporters, since we had started to ride our bikes to school. We had to decide who was class representative today as well," She answers, sighing heavily.

"Oh? How catastrophic was it?" Shohei asks earnestly, making Chiyo giggle.

"I managed to calm the class before a war was declared between classmates," The goth girl answers, looking up at her boyfriend, "and it went surprisingly well."

"Your class sounds chaotic, I pity your teacher." Chiyo lightly hits the light haired teenager's chest. "Having to deal with Dark Shadow, Grim, and a class of impulsive teenagers?"

"Sho!" She giggles. Shohei laughs lightly as they walk into a small, cozy restaurant.

A small old woman smiles brightly when the two teenagers enter the restaurant. "Chiyo, Shohei! How wonderful it is to see you two again!"

"Hello Nanna. I apologise for not visiting for so long," Chiyo says, stepping away from her boyfriend to give Hye-mi a hug.

"No need for any apologies, Chiyo. UA always had my children so busy," Hye-mi says, breaking the hug to hug Shohei. "What would you two like to eat?"

"Surprise us." Shohei grabs Chiyo's hand. "We'll be at our spot."

Chiyo smiles and let's him lead her to the table they have always sat at. It was a large booth sitting in the left corner of the restaurant.

Before Hye-mi had met the young couple, she had made a mistake in designing her restaurant seating and had crammed the booth in the left corner. Normally it would have been alright in other restaurants, but it had poor lighting and little to know room. She was about to make the decision to get rid of the booth when Chiyo and Shohei decided that booth would be their spot. Hye-mi had quickly taken a liking to the cheerful goth and the popular boy soon after, so she decided against getting rid of the booth.

"Yaoyorozu-chan had decided on a vote for the positions. By a landslide, she was voted class rep," Chiyo says, sliding into the booth, "and surprisingly I was voted as vice rep."

"Really?" Shohei asks, eyebrows raising. He smiles brightly and gives his girlfriend a kiss on the cheek.

"Congrats. Miss Vice," He says with a smirk. Chiyo smiles and giggles with a small blush.

"Yes. It surprised me quite a bit, and then the reporters breached UA grounds," The corvid girl says, smile disappearing.

Shohei quickly grabs her hand, eyebrows furrowed. "What? How did they get past security? Are you all right?"

"Chaos!" Grimoire cackles in her mind at the reminder of the panicking students in the hallway.

"I'm fine. After Iida-kun had figured out it was the reporters, I quickly took action and calmed the students. I was... unimpressed by UA's disregard of monthly drills, which had resorted to students panicking, because they did not know what to do during a breach." Chiyo frowns slightly and straightens her posture. "I am going to talk with Aizawa-Sensei about having a class a couple times a month about procedures and drills on our field trip after tomorrow."

"That's right, UA only gives you one day off." Shohei pouts and leans onto Chiyo dramatically. She playfully rolls her eyes with a smile.

"Yes, unfortunate that this forbidden love is stifled even more by my school despite its lax rules on courting," She says tragically, a hand on her forehead.

"Here we are, a surprise dinner!" Hye-mi walks over to the booth, placing two plates of food down in front of the couple. Korean noodles.

"Nanna Hye-mi, this looks delicious!" Chiyo compliments brightly. "Thank you."

"Anything for you Chiyo, dear! Now eat up before it gets cold!" The old lady walks away with a bright smile.

Chiyo smiles and starts eating, conversing with her boyfriend the entire time. She glances at her bouquet of flowers and can't help but feel confused by... something about them.

She pushes the confusion aside as she laughs at Shohei's horrible joke.

"Chiyo-san!" Chiyo glances up from the clothing rack at Momo's voice. She glances around and smiles when she sees Momo jogging over.

"Momo-san! Fancy seeing you here," Chiyo greets cheerfully, pulling away from the rack. Momo smiles brightly, brushing some of her hair behind her ear.

"How are you?" Momo asks while Chiyo goes back to the clothing rack.

The goth girl hums with a shrug, pulling out a pale pink dress from the rack. "I'm doing wonderful. What about you?"

"It is a fantastic day!" Momo exclaims before messing with her shopping bags. "This is... I've never seen a store like this before..."

Chiyo glances up and looks back deeper into the store. It was a larger than average Hot Topic filled to the brim with all kinds of things. She smiles brightly when she notices Momo's slightly shocked and hesitant expression.

"This is one of my favorite stores. Are you excited for our field trip tomorrow?" The goth girl asks, walking deeper into the store to buy the things she picked out. Momo follows after her.

"Yes. I overheard from some Class 1-B students that it would be rescue training," The taller girl says, carefully inspecting the skull nail polish next to the cashier.

"Is this all you'll be buying today, Tokoyami-san?" The cashier asks, starting to check out Chiyo's items. Chiyo hums in confirmation and givesthe cashier a bright smile.

"That would be so wonderful, to do some rescue training," She says before gasping when a thought enters her mind. "There's a new rescue hero! I saw xir debut last night! Have you seen it yet?"

"Aurelian correct? I haven't seen the debut, but Mother had mostly good things to say about xem," Momo says placing the skull nail polish back in the box full of them.

"Have a nice day with your friend, Tokoyami-san!" The cashier says placing the bags full of clothes and accessories on the counter. Chiyo smiles and hands over her debit card.

"I can't wait to see how well xe will do! Thank you Watase-san!" Chiyo grabs her debit card and the bags before walking with Momo out of the store and into the crowded mall. "Is your mother not..."

"She does not care about who loves who... but she does not believe gender is a spectrum. Father doesn't really understand it all, but he is a firm believer in not saying anything until he knows everything about it. Their difference in opinions has caused many arguments." Chiyo frowns slightly before swiftly smiling when Momo turns to look down at her.

"I hope we can meet Aurelian during our time at UA. Xe graduated from UA," The goth girl says hopefully, clapping her hands once.

"Do you want to be a rescue hero, Chiyo-san?" Momo asks curiously while they window shop.

"My Quirk isn't suited for rescue. I want to be an aboveground hero. Fumi-chan wants to be a mixture of an underground and an aboveground hero," Chiyo answers. "What about you?"

"Maybe an aboveground hero."

The two girls continue chatting away. Chiyo hears a single cry of a crow, making her pale slightly. She slightly shakes her head and focuses back on her friend. No, not now.
