Farrah

"Is this the place ma'am?" The driver asked Farrah as they pulled up to the multistory apartment complex.

Farrah looked at her phone confirming if the address Huck matched the building on her right. It was a match, thank God!

"Yes, this is it. Thanks!" Farrah grabbed her purse.

The driver looked at Farrah through the rearview mirror, "you're welcome, enjoy your day ma'am."

"You too," Farrah exited the vehicle and walked inside of the building.

"Good afternoon ma'am, how may I help you?" The concierge greeted in a Southern drawl. Farrah hates being called ma'am which is why she rarely visits the South.

"Good afternoon, I am here to see Olivia Pope. I am a client of hers." Farrah lied hoping it worked.

"One sec ma'am, let me call up to Miss Pope." The concierge picked up the phone and called Olivia. When he looked at Farrah oddly, she became worried. She knew she should've come up with a better lie. Why would Olivia's client visit her home?

After hanging up with Olivia the concierge said, "she'll be down in a sec."

"Perfect, thank you." Farrah stepped aside waiting for the young woman that has her brother losing his mind.

10 minutes went by before Olivia made her appearance. The moment Farrah laid eyes on the young beauty, she didn't blame Fitz for his obsession with this girl. Olivia was naturally stunning. Though there was an innocence to her face, it didn't quite match her eyes. But those eyes drew you in, they were the first thing Farrah noticed.

"Hi Olivia, I am Farrah Fitz's older sister." Farrah greeted in a faux tone.

"Hi…what are you doing here?" Olivia nervously crossed her arms across her chest. Her southern accent was cute.

"Is Fitz still here?" Farrah ignored Olivia's question.

She looked behind her as if he would appear before answering, "no he left about twenty minutes ago. Did he send you here?" She was suspicious now.

"Can we talk privately?" Farrah looked around the busy lobby.

"Yes, we can go up to my apartment." Olivia led the way to the elevators before Farrah could respond.

"Okay." Farrah followed Olivia.

The quick elevator ride up to Olivia's floor was awkward. While Olivia fiddled with her hands and chewed on the bottom of her lip, Farrah side-eyed the young vixen. She was a troubled woman it was all over her face. What is it about a troubled woman that her brother finds attractive?

"Can I get you something to drink?" Olivia asked once inside her apartment.

"I'll take a glass of wine," Farrah replied taking a glance around the place. It was clean and nicely decorated.

"Wine it is." Olivia went and retrieved a bottle of wine. She poured herself and Farrah a glass and came back into the living room handing Farrah her glass.

"Look I know you may love my brother and he may love you," Farrah already knew how Fitz felt about Olivia, but she wasn't here to solidify anything, "this relationship or whatever it is you two have is not going to work. You two barely know each other. I think you both just got caught up in the lust. You're young, fresh, and new. He's older, mature, and stable. It makes sense. Olivia, you're 21 years old I know you don't want to settle this young. Besides, Fitz is going through a divorce. You're not a novice when it comes to gossip I am positive and I know you know that Fitz has cheated on Mellie quite a few times before you. My brother struggles with monogamy that's no secret, he wants to prove that he isn't our father, but he's Big Gerry through and through. I am just trying to save you from the heartache you are sure to endure if you think a relationship will work with my brother." Farrah hated to throw Fitz under the bus the way she did, even though everything she said was the truth.

Olivia finished her wine sat the glass down on the table, "Fitz is no longer in my life. Whatever we did have it's over."

"Well, that settles that. Olivia, I am sure you're a really nice girl I just don't think you are ready for a guy like my brother." Farrah finished off her wine.

Olivia nodded her head, "ready for a guy like your brother, huh? No sweetie you're brother isn't ready for a girl like me. If that's all you came to talk about, I think we're done here." Olivia got up from the couch and walked to her door.

Getting the hint, Farrah grabbed her purse and walked over to the door where Olivia was. "It was nice meeting you," she said as she stepped into the hallway.

"I wish I could say the same," Olivia shut the door in Farrah's face.

Fishing in her purse for her cell, Farrah retrieved it and called Fitz.

"What Farrah?" He sounded defeated.

"Where are you?" She walked to the elevator and pressed the down button.

"Why Farrah?"

"Fitz I paid your little girlfriend a visit, where are you? Are you still in Atlanta?"

"You did what?! I'm at my condo." Fitz ran off the address to Farrah.

"Be there in 10." Farrah ended the call and called a car.

She was at Fitz's condo in 15 minutes. He met her in the lobby.

"Hey baby brother." Farrah playfully greeted Fitz who was obviously in no playing mood.

Fitz walked off similarly to how Olivia did expecting her to follow him. He said nothing during the ride up to his condo. The heavy deep breaths he took and the reddish tint to his face told Farrah that he was upset.

"Farrah what the fuck did you say to her?!" Fitz didn't even shut his door completely before going off.

"Fitz the girl is a nut case. Do you know she committed herself three times?" Farrah remained calm.

"That's none of your fucking business! You had no right to look into her Farrah!"

"I am glad I did because the look on your face says you didn't even know. Fitz, what do you know about this woman besides what's between her legs?"

"I know enough about her to know that she's the one I should've waited for."

"My God Fitz do you hear yourself? The girl is barely legal. She has mommy and daddy issues. She's clearly mental. And here you are saying she's the one? You were better off with Mellie." Farrah laughed at the absurdity of Fitz thinking Olivia is the one for him.

"Farrah I love you. I will always love you. But stay the fuck out of my life and my business. I am not a child. I am a grown-ass man who is capable of making my own decisions without you, mom, dad, or Cyrus meddling every chance you get."

"How's that working Fitz? Are you playing tomorrow? You're in the middle of a divorce. Your career is up in the air. Oh but you're handling things."

"Get out!"

"Excuse me?"

"Get the fuck out!"

"Fitz!"

"Get the fuck out! Go home to your own family and stay the fuck out of my life!"

Fitz has never spoken to Farrah in this tone. She has seen her baby brother snap many occasions, she never thought she'd be at the receiving end of his fury.

"Fine!" Farrah stormed out of Fitz's condo and booked her flight to New York.

Fitz

In a deep slumber from the hangover the night before, Fitz groaned hearing his cell phone go off for the hundredth time. Pulling his head which felt like a tone from the throw pillow, Fitz glanced at the screen and saw that Cyrus was calling.

"Cyrus," Fitz yawned unable to sit up completely. His body was sore. His head was throbbing. His big frame is not meant for sleeping on this couch. Fitz made a mental note to hit up his massage therapist as he was in dire need of a deep tissue massage.

Per his usual greetings nowadays, Cyrus sighed before saying, "the verdict is in you're not playing in tomorrow's game. Hollis wants your off-field distractions taken care of by next game." Cyrus explained.

Fitz dropped his head back into the pillow, "so I am told this the day before the game how professional?" He hadn't meant to snap at Cyrus, he was just upset. Fitz has only missed 7 games in the 14 years he's been in the league.

"None of this would be happening had you kept your priorities in check. You erratically announce a divorce, and then this thing you have with that girl, Fitz you are so far off track no one knows how to approach you anymore."

"Because no one has tried to approach me and when they have it's been bullshit and her name is Olivia not girl." Fitz corrected Cyrus. He hates that Cyrus refers to her as girl, it's demeaning.

"Fitz you used to eat, breath, and live football. I need that same Fitz back, the front office is not happy with you. Your teammates aren't happy with you. Do I need to mention you're up for contract negotiations? I need you to pull it together if you want to retire a Saint." Cyrus lectured.

Cyrus was right. Fitz just wasn't ready to admit it. Choosing to act on immaturity, Fitz hung up. Everyone has been lecturing him about his choices in his personal life these past few months and blaming Olivia for his demise as they see it. No one in his inner circle is a fan of Olivia. Farrah's babbling of Olivia being a nut case only intensified everyone's dislike for the love of Fitz's life.

On paper, Olivia does come off as unstable. Her hospitalizations which Fitz had no clue about were red flags his mother and Farrah begged him not to overlook. What they don't know and will never know because it's none of their business is the reason for Olivia's hospitalizations which came at the hands of her perverse uncle and negligent parents.

Needing to distract himself from everything going on in his personal life, Fitz turned on the TV where Kody Banks and Kyle Hills were discussing him on their show The K-Files.

"Welcome back everyone, as we reported, FG3 did not show up to practice yesterday and we are not sure if he's suiting up for tomorrow's game. The team has not released a statement yet on why FG3 didn't show up to practice. They also haven't released a statement on if their franchise quarterback is suiting up for tomorrow's home game against the Bucs. Once we hear from the team, we will update you. Also keep in mind FG3 is going through a divorce. He was married to his wife Mellie for 17 years. So we can all imagine how difficult of a time this must be for him. Our thoughts here at The K-Files are with you FG3." Kody the more unbiased of the duo spoke.

"Kody let's not make excuses for a vet. He has been in the league long enough to know how to separate his personal life from his work life. He has an obligation to his teammates and the Saints organization. How are these guys supposed to trust their leader and he can't even show up in a division game?" Fitz has never liked Kyle. Of all his critics, Kyle has to be his biggest one. The man refuses to give Fitz credit for all that he has accomplished in his NFL career.

"Let's hear from a few callers shall we?" Kody opened the lines for callers to call in with their opinions on Fitz and the fate of the Saints.

Caller after caller shared their thoughts on Fitz and it hurt his ego to hear Saints fans say that he is washed up and should retire. They believe he is using his divorce as an excuse for the decline in his performance. They prefer if he sits out the rest of the season so that the Saints can draft a quarterback in the draft.

Fitz called Cyrus back. There is no way he will allow a city he gave everything to turn its back on him especially during a time like this when his world is crashing around him.

"Are you done being a spoiled brat?" Cyrus has never taken Fitz's temper tantrums personal.

"Cyrus I am not that guy that's being talked about in the media especially on The K-Files. I need you to fix this now." Fitz frustratingly scratched his head.

"Well you blew GMA. It's local but I can set something up with Kody and Kyle since they are your biggest critics." Cyrus suggested to Fitz's dismay. The last thing he wanted was to sit down with Kody and Kyle. Fitz can tolerate Kody it's Kyle that he has an issue with.

"I swear if that fucking Kyle gets out of line I may lose my shit," Fitz admitted.

"Aren't you trying to clean up your image? Tell me now if you will be able to control yourself like the grown man you are. Fitz a lot is riding on this interview." Cyrus skeptically warned.

"We've lost two games." Fitz doesn't understand the panic.

"Have you forgotten last season Fitz? Look Fitz this is your chance to let everyone know where your head is at because no one have a fucking clue." Cyrus made clear.

Fitz shook his head with a sigh, "I won't lose my shit Cy, set it up and give me a call back with the details."

"Alright."

"Thanks Cy," Fitz ended the call.

For the first time today Fitz was able to breathe a sigh of relief. If Cyrus was able to set up the interview with Kody and Kyle, that would take one less thing off Fitz's plate. With all the time to spare until Cyrus called back, Fitz fought the urge to check Olivia's social media until he couldn't hold out any longer.

He needed to know what was going with her. Walking away from her was probably one of the hardest things he's ever had to do, but it was for the best. How can he love a woman that doesn't want to be loved? Or better yet doesn't know how to accept being properly loved. Her parents, uncle, and other men in her life really fucked her over.

It surprised him that she hasn't been active on her social media. Olivia is always active on her accounts. Fitz wasn't sure if her sudden absence was a good thing or not. He called her wax salon just to see if she was there. He needed to know that she was okay.

"Thanks for calling Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow, how may I help you?" Penelope perkily answered. Fitz finds it amusing that this young woman was always in a chipper mood.

"Hey, is Olivia in?" His tone not matching her chipper one.

"No she's out of town. Do you want to leave a message?"

"No that's fine, thank you."

"You're welcome, have a good day."

"You too," Fitz ended that call and called Amelia.

"This is Amelia, who is this?" Amelia answered less chipper than Penelope.

"How is she?" Fitz got right to it.

Amelia dramatically sucked her teeth, "you have some nerve. She's fine no thanks to you."

"Where is she?" Fitz just needed to know that Olivia was okay.

"I can't disclose that information."

"Did she commit herself again?"

"Goodbye Fitz." Amelia hung up.

"Fuck." Fitz gripped his phone.

Just as it comforted him knowing she committed herself, it hurt him the same way knowing that it was on the account of him.

Olivia

Olivia woke the next afternoon in her bed at Espoir a privately owned psychiatric facility ran by Dr. Meadows who is one of the best psychiatrists in the South. The facility is small and intimate. At full capacity Dr. Meadows hosts 10 patients. His staff is amazingly attentive to all the patients' needs and wants.

Olivia has been seeing Dr. Meadows since she was 16 years old. The first time she committed herself, he was still working at Lakeview Behavioral Health Hospital. He didn't open Espoir until the second time she committed herself and her experience at Espoir was much better than Lakeview. Olivia felt judged and second priority at Lakeview, whereas at Espoir the patients come first no matter what. After all they're entering these facilities in their most fragile state.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Meadows." Olivia greeted as she walked into his office.

"Good afternoon Olivia, how are you feeling?" Dr. Meadows looked up from the paperwork he was going over.

"Better than I felt yesterday, thank you for taking me in on such short notice." Olivia took a seat in the plush grey chair.

"As I said, my door is always opened for you, Olivia. When you woke up this morning, what was your first thought?" Dr. Meadows asked.

"That I matter to people in this world."

Olivia kept a brave face in front of Fitz's sister Farrah during their talk yesterday. After Farrah left Olivia had a panic attack. The panic attack came on because of Olivia's dark thoughts. She ended up calling Dr. Meadows back while still in the panic attack and he sent a staff member to pick up Olivia and bring her to Espoir.

"Name those people." Dr. Meadows followed up.

"Amelia, Harrison, and Aunt Betty." Olivia named the three people closest to her heart.

"What about Fitz? Do you think you matter to him?"

"I used to." Olivia sulked in the chair.

"What do you think changed those feelings?"

"I fucked up bad. He was everything I ever dreamed of in a man and partner and I ruined it." Olivia sulked further.

"What I am hearing you say is you fucked up bad and that you ruined it. How did you fuck up and why did you ruin it Olivia? You said he was everything you ever dreamed of in a man and partner." Dr. Meadows was straightforward with his therapy. He wasn't your cookie-cutter psychiatrist.

Olivia idly picked the imaginary dirt under her the acrylic on her nails avoiding Dr. Meadows' questions.

"Don't sulk in your feelings, talk to me Olivia." Dr. Meadows sat back in his chair with his eyes on Olivia.

"I can't do this, thank you again for taking me last minute." She felt exposed under his gaze.

"Olivia you can do this, why did you ruin it?" Dr. Meadows pushed.

"You know why!" She yelled out in frustration getting up from the chair.

"Olivia, why did you ruin it?" Dr. Meadows remained seated.

"Because I don't deserve him Dr. Meadows! He is a professional athlete and can have any woman he wants! The man was married to a freakin' doctor for God's sake!" Olivia insecurities were screaming at her that she will never be enough for Fitz.

"And he still picked you." Dr. Meadows reminded Olivia.

"Why? I am no doctor! I am no model! I am nowhere near his level Dr. Meadows. I am just a broken woman that will drain him!" Olivia was in full distress similar to how she was last night when she showed up.

"You're not a doctor or model. You are Olivia and he still chose you." Dr. Meadows remained calm.

"I will never be enough for Fitz. I know deep down inside he pities me. Who wants to be with someone who was molested and raped by their own family member? Who wants to be with someone who slept with over 20 men because I thought the more men I slept with the more power I took back over my body." Olivia was baring it all and it felt good releasing her fears into the universe in front of the one person she trust with her life.

"Has he told you he pities you?"

"He doesn't have to I see it Dr. Meadows."

"What if what you're seeing is a man who is just in love with you Olivia?"

"He walked away from me."

"Why did he walk away?"

"Because he said if I can't trust him then we shouldn't be together."

"What's stopping you from trusting him?"

"I know he's going to hurt me, Dr. Meadows. His sister told me he struggles with monogamy and he's going to hurt me. His father was a serial cheater it's in his blood. He'll get bored of me like he did his wife and he's going to hurt me I know it." Olivia couldn't shake Farrah's warning about Fitz.

"Is there a chance he will hurt you? Yes. Olivia you cannot close yourself off to allowing someone to love you because you think they're going to hurt you. I know you think you're protecting yourself, but you're doing more harm to yourself than good. I see how much love this man and in the 5 years I have known you I have never seen you like this over a man. He is awakening parts of you that you thought your uncle ruined and tried burying in other men. Love can be scary and it's okay to sit in that. What's not okay, is you letting that fear stop you from being loved. Olivia if anyone deserves love it's you. Off record, you are like a daughter to me and I just want you to be happy. If this man makes you happy let him. If he wants to love you let him. If it doesn't work, then hey at least you tried. The point is that you tried. And never listen to the sibling usually they're just talking out of their ass."

Olivia sat back in the chair. Dr. Meadows is amazing, she hopes he lives forever.

"I see you thinking, sit in what I just said and we'll check back in later." He suggested.

"Thank you."

"Always." Dr. Meadows smiled.

Olivia left Dr. Meadows office feeling like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. Her trauma and insecurities will not be healed overnight. She has to do the work of accepting and recognizing so that she can move past the stump of self-sabotaging her shot at love and happiness.

Back in her room, she called Fitz. She wants him to know that she is all in. The line rang three times before he answered.

"Liv," he greeted. He sounded wearied.

"Fitz I am getting help so that I can a better me for you." Olivia shakily replied.

"Olivia I want you to get better for you not for me." Fitz kept an apathetic tone.

"Fitz I want to learn to love and trust you without doubts. Please, don't give up on us. We both deserve a shot at real love." His indifferent tone hurt her feelings.

"Are you safe?" The concern finally appeared.

"Yes, I am safe. Did you hear anything I just said?" She can't believe he brushed over her vulnerability.

"Olivia I am glad that you're safe. I hope you continue to get better. I have to go." He was back to being cold again.

"Okay, goodbye Fitz. Take care of yourself." There was no point in trying. Fitz's message was loud and clear, he was over her.

"You as well Olivia."

Olivia ended the call and turned off her phone. She grabbed the journal every patient is given during their stay and began writing.

Fitz

Sitting in the dressing room of the studio where The K-Files is filmed, Fitz prepped for his interview. He already knew Kody and Kyle were going to get personal, so he gave himself a pep talk to keep his composure.

"Showtime," Cyrus said peeking his head in at Fitz.

"You got this." Fitz stood up from the chair and buttoned his suit jacket.

He left the dressing room and followed the producer to the stage.

"Fitz keep your cool," Cyrus advised.

"I got this Cy." Fitz patted Cyrus's shoulder.

"Fitz thank you for doing this man." Kody greeted Fitz with a handshake.

"No problem man." Fitz shook Kody's hand.

"Fitz." Kyle dryly spoke.

"Kyle." Fitz returned the same energy.

Fitz got situated in his chair. The producer counted down from 10 and the interview began.

"Good morning everyone and welcome to The K-Files. I am Kody Banks and this is Kyle Hills. Today we are sitting down with Saints franchise quarterback Fitzgerald Grant III better known as FG3 for an exclusive interview. Fitz thank you so much for joining us." Kody introduced Fitz.

"My pleasure, thanks for having me." Fitz looked at both men and then the camera.

"So let's get right to it, you did not play in this afternoon's divisional game against the Bucs in which the Saints were demolished in a shutout their first since you became their starter," Kody stated. Fitz felt bad for backup quarterback Bryce Fields. He gave it his all on that field, but it was no match for the Bucs monstrous defense. This loss is on him not Bryce.

"I did not play in today's divisional game and I want to give props to Bryce for going out there and toughing it out against the Bucs." Fitz gave a shout-out to Bryce.

"Did you see the guy's stats? I mean c'mon Fitz I am all for team solidarity, but Bryce Fields played horribly." Kyle pointed out.

"I was supposed to be out there. This loss is on me not Bryce or any of the other guys. Bryce was thrown in as QB1 at the last minute. He was not prepared and it wasn't his fault." Fitz reiterated keeping his composure.

"That's a true leader right there," Kody complimented Fitz.

"And to be clear you aren't injured?" Kyle clarified.

Fitz took a subtle deep breath, "no I am not injured."

"As it's been reported, you are currently going through a divorce. Did that play a part in you not suiting up this afternoon?" Kody asked.

"My divorce is not why I didn't play this afternoon," Fitz replied. He doesn't want to expose Olivia.

"And again you're not injured?" Kyle sarcastically inquired again.

Fitz smirked before speaking into the camera, "I did not play in today's game because for the first time in my career I put my team last. Lately my focus has not been on what matters most and that is my team and my responsibilities as a leader on this team. I let those guys down and for that I apologize to the Saints organization, my coaches, and my teammates for not being the leader I know that I can be. What I can assure is that the distractions are gone. I am 100% committed to this team and my teammates." Fitz hopes Olivia isn't watching this interview. She has a misconstruing things to fit into what she wants to believe to be true. Yes, she has been a distraction, Fitz feels though he can separate the two. He can separate Olivia and football if she is willing to do the work on herself.

"And there you have it, folks. We'll be right back." Kody replied.

The rest of the interview was spent with the trio talking sports and the future for the Saints. Fitz and Kyle warmed up to each other and for the moment was able to put their differences aside.

"I am proud of you," Cyrus said once the interview wrapped. They left the studio and got into the black SUV.

"Thanks, Cy." Fitz felt good.

Cyrus was coming back to Fitz's condo with so they could go over his paperwork regarding his Nike endorsement. What neither was expecting to see was Olivia on the couch in lingerie.

"Oh for the love of God." Cyrus threw up his hands.

"Liv, what are you doing here?" Fitz immediately became erect seeing her in the blue lace thong, matching bra, thigh-high stockings, and heels.

This story is called 'Obsession' for a reason. Will Fitz cave in? She is in his favorite color. As always leave your thoughts babes.
