Tom and Jerry: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Chapter 3: The Last Golden Ticket

Sometime later, it showed a variety of candy shops and emporiums selling out before then showing carts of Wonka Bars being carted to Fort Knox and then showing the Anchorman speaking up.

"Wonka Bars are vanishing fast. Local merchants unable to meet the demand close early! The nation's dwindling supply of Wonka Bars is held under the tightest security. It won't be long before finding a Wonka Bar is impossible. Wait! It's over. The Wonka Contest is all over! The fifth and final golden ticket has been found, and we've got a live report coming in directly now from Paraguay, South America.", the Anchorman spoke.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is finished. The end has come. The fifth and final Golden Ticket has just been found right here in Paraguay. The lucky winner is the multimillionaire owner of gambling casinos throughout South America. Alberto Minõleta. Tell me. What is your comment?", the Paraguay reporter asked.

"I've never been happier. Olé.", Alberto spoke as he held up said ticket.

"Turn it off. Well, that's that. No more Golden Tickets.", Grandpa Joe sighed.

"A lot of rubbish, the whole thing.", Grandma Josephine commented.

"Not to poor Charlie and Robyn, it wasn't. Little kids' got to have some hope in this world. What hope have they got left now?", Grandpa Joe sighed.

"Who's going to tell them?", Grandma Georgina pondered.

"I don't think we should tell them tonight.", Mrs. Bucket advised.

"Yeah, let the kids sleep. Let 'em dream.", Grandpa Joe agreed before Charlie and Robyn sniffled sadly while Tom and Jerry, who were watching nearby, did the same as well.

Later, at school, Charlie and Robyn were downer than ever. They even had their heads on the desk as if they were sleeping in class as Mr. Turkentine drew the number 100 with Tom watching from nearby and sighing sadly. Then, all of a sudden, Tom heard a loud rattling sound and turned to see Jerry getting out some bottles, prompting the cat to take action and then grab the two bottles with Jerry grabbing Tom by the whiskers and pointing toward a sign on the nearby grocery store that said, "CA$H for Return Bottle" with Tom and Jerry later returning the bottles and getting a single quarter, prompting Tom to try to grab it from the mouse, prompting the duo to fight over it until they inadvertently flung it into a sewer grate, making Tom gasp before he and Jerry rushed to it with Tom sadly shrugging.

Meanwhile, Bill was entering his shop.

"Oh. These must've gotten hidden away during the contest. Oh, well, at least I can restock.", Bill spoke as he picked up the box.

Back near the grocery store, Tom tied a rope to Jerry's tail and carefully maneuvered him through the sewer grate, allowing Jerry to pick up the quarter before Tom picked Jerry up only for the quarter to fall down with Jerry then pushing himself back in the grate and go after the quarter with Tom helping him along, that is, until he got distracted by a female cat with Jerry suddenly finding himself stuck as he was about to grab the quarter, which then stopped rolling, prompting Jerry to pull harder on the rope, but with little to no success as Tom was still distracted.

At around the same time, Robyn and Charlie found a quarter in the sewer grate with the latter digging it out, much to Jerry's worry as he only saw the hand before he pulled on the rope and saw Robyn and Charlie heading for Bill's Candy Shop, making the mouse grin before he then turned tugged in the rope, quickly sending Tom into the sewer and out through another grate.

Inside Bill's Candy Shop, Charlie and Robyn entered as the latter cleared his throat.

"Hello, there.", Bill greeted.

"We'd like a couple bars of chocolate, please.", Charlie said.

"Yeah, sure. What kind? A Slugworth Sizzler? A Wonka Scrumdidilyumptious?", Bill asked.

"Whichever's the biggest.", Charlie replied.

"Try a Scrumdidilyumptious. Now that all the tickets have been found, I don't have to hide them anymore.", Bill spoke as he presented said bar before he cleared his throat and held out his hand with Charlie paying.

"Hey, hey, hey, take it easy. You'll get a stomach ache if you swallow it like that.", Bill suggested.

"I'll try to remember that.", Robyn grinned before remembering that she has something to buy, too.

"I think I'll buy just one more, for our Grandpa Joe. Maybe something a little smaller this time?", Robyn asked.

"Of course. One Wonka Bar it is.", Bill spoke as he handed the bar to Robyn, who paid for the bar before Bill opened the register with Robyn and Charlie walking out.

"Wait until Grandpa Joe sees those.", Robyn grinned.

"I know. We're gonna have a feast.", Charlie grinned before he and Robyn noticed several people lining up toward the newspaper stand.

"Extra, extra! Read all about it! Hear the latest news! Get your papers here!", Jopeck shouted.

"Jopeck? What's that about?", Robyn puzzled.

"What's going on?", a man puzzled.

"Hear about the scandal.", Jopeck shouted, handing out newspapers before Robyn and Ginger caught up.

"Extra, extra! Hear about the scandal.", Jopeck shouted.

"Scandal?", Charlie puzzled as he and Robyn caught up as best they could.

"All right, all right, take it easy. One at a time. All right, all right, just a moment... wait your turn... give me a chance...", Jopeck spoke.

"What's going on?", Robyn puzzled.

"That gambler from Paraguay made up a phony ticket.", the man with the paper spine, showing her said paper with the news.

"That means there's one Golden Ticket still floating around somewhere.", the second man added.

"Can you imagine the nerve of that guy, trying to fool the whole world?", the man with the paper asked.

"Aw, he really was a crook! Well, this means the contest goes on forever. Wonder where they'll find the next one.", the second man spoke before the news on the TV came on.

"Huh? That's on the TV, too?", Robyn puzzled as she and Charlie went over to it.

"We repeat. The 5th Golden Ticket is a forgery. Alberto Minõleta of Paraguay has just been taken into custody by the police.", the Paraguay reporter stated as he cleared away from the view to show him being taken away by the police.

"Ay caramba...", Alberto spoke as he was carted away, already handcuffed.

"Which means there is still one Golden Ticket out there.", the Paraguay Reporter added.

"Take it easy, take it easy, one at a time.", Jopeck said.

"Wait a minute. I wonder if...", Robyn pondered before she and Charlie opened each end of the Wonka Bar cautiously with Tom and Jerry watching just as anxiously.

But what a marvelous surprise. Instead of it being a Wonka Bar alone, there it was: the Golden Ticket!

"We found it!", Robyn shouted as she pulled the ticket out only for a woman to grab her hand holding it.

"Hey, you've got it! You've got the last Golden Ticket! The kid's found the last Golden Ticket! Hold it up, lady, so we can see!", the woman shouted before crowds of people clamored over to Robyn and Charlie, surrounding them closely at every turn in excitement.

"That's enough of that! Leave the kids alone!", Jopeck shouted.

"Hey, kid, come over here.", a man shouted.

"Let me see it! Did you see what he's got?", another woman added.

"Take it easy, guys!", Robyn pleaded.

"You're going to crush them! Leave them alone! Break it up.", Jopeck urged before Tom and Jerry managed to get enough space and pull Robyn and Charlie out from the crowd with the former doing the pulling.

"Come on, kids! Hold on to that ticket! Run for it, you two! Run straight home and don't stop 'til you get there!", Jopeck shouted.

And with that, Charlie and Robyn ran all the way for home, that is, until the strange man stepped into Charlie and Robyn's shared path just under the bridge.

"Congratulations, little children. You found the last Golden Ticket.", the strange man spoke.

"You. You're that strange man I saw on the news speaking to the other ticket winners.", Robyn realized.

"Huh. It seems you have noticed me before. May I introduce myself? Arthur Slugworth, President of Slugworth Chocolates, Incorporated.", Slugworth introduced as Tom and Jerry listened in, getting worried as well.

"Now, listen carefully because I'm going to make you very rich indeed.", Slugworth spoke.

"Sorry, but we're not buying what you're selling.", Robyn refused.

"At lease hear what I have to say. As you probably know, Mr. Wonka is my sworn enemy. He is currently developing an incredible invention: the Everlasting Gobstopper. If he's successful, he'll bankrupt me. So, I need your help. You two must get hold of an Everlasting Gobstopper and bring it to me so that I can find the secret formula. If you two do as I say, you'll be rich. Your reward will be ten thousand of these.", Slugworth spoke before he flipped through a stack of money.

"Think it over, will you? A new house for your family, plenty of food and security for the rest of their lives. And don't forget the name: Everlasting Gobstopper.", Slugworth spoke.

"Sorry, Slugworth. I told you before. We are not for sale.", Robyn adamantly refused before Tom and Jerry ran over to her and Charlie.

"I can see that your decision isn't very wise.", Slugworth spoke before he notice Tom and Jerry and then stepped on a floorboard, launching them toward a couple of paint buckets with Tom in the blue bucket and Jerry in the yellow bucket before he then turned to see Robyn and Charlie trying to run only for Slugworth to stop the latter by the backpack, prompting Robyn to stop and turn around to see Charlie in trouble, worrying her before Robyn then forced the backpack off Slugworth's hands with Tom and Jerry falling off and the paint then splattering on the wall, turning Tom and Jerry into paint versions of themselves with a paint version of Wonka also present before red paint splattered onto Slugworth, turning him into a paint version of himself as well, leading to a sort of surreal moment with Slugworth in many abstract forms while illustrating the scope of his ambitions with Robyn and Charlie looking on in worry before the two eventually looked up and saw barrels of water near the wall on the scaffolding and tilted the barrels toward Slugworth, washing away the paint and Slugworth along with it.

Slugworth: And by the way...

I want it all

I want the whole world

All that I need is some kids to betray him

At last I'll repay him and how!

I want what's Wonka's

I want his secrets

Scrumdidilyumptious and Wonka's so scrumptious

Gobstoppers are go-must

Give it to me

Now!

I want the world

I want the whole world

I want to lock it all up in my pocket

It's my bar of chocolate

Give it to me

Now!

I want today

I want tomorrow

I want to wear them; I will if I dare

And I don't want to share them!

I want a party with rooms full of laughter

Ten thousand fans adore me

And if I don't get the things I am after

I'm going to scream!

I want the works

I want the whole works

The world on my plate

It isn't too late to seal Wonka's fate

And now

Don't care how

I want it now

Don't care how

I want it now

"Tom, Jerry, this way!", Robyn urged as she led Tom and Jerry our from under the bridge just as Slugworth then fell through the sewer pipe with the batch closing on it.

Back at the Buckets' house, Charlie and Robyn both burst in excitedly.

"Look, everyone! look, We've got it! The fifth Golden Ticket is ours!", Robyn shouted as she and Charlie ran in and closed the door, inadvertently barring Tom and Jerry from entering the house.

"You're pulling our legs, Robyn! There aren't any more Golden Tickets.", Grandpa Joe spike.

"No, Grandpa, the last one was a fake; it said so in the papers.", Charlie spoke.

"And it was on the TV, too. See for yourself.", Robyn grinned, handing the ticket to Grandpa Joe.

"'Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this Golden Ticket, from Mr. Willy Wonka. Bring this ticket to my factory at ten o'clock in the morning on October the 1st and do not be late. One member of your own family may accompany you and your sibling (if there are any). A day of unimaginable surprises awaits you both!' Charlie, Robyn, it's real! You did it!", Grandpa Joe grinned as Tom and Jerry entered and grew excited.

"I can't believe it!", Mrs. Bucket spoke excitedly.

"Grandpa? It says we can take somebody with me. We want you to go with us.", Robyn offered before Joe then moved the blanket out from underneath him.

"Jumping crocodiles, you two.", Grandpa Joe spoke before Charlie turned Grandpa Joe around up to a point that his feet were now facing the edge of the bed before Charlie and Robyn, along with Tom and Jerry from behind, helped him up.

"Ah, that's good.", Grandpa Joe spoke as he stood only to lose his balance and fall back on the bed, as well as Tom and Jerry, flattening them by mistake and making Robyn wince at this.

"Oooooh!", Robyn winced before Charlie helped him up only to fall on top of Charlie with Robyn pulling him back up with her and Charlie then balancing him.

"Are you okay, Grandpa?", Charlie asked.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine, Charlie. I'm fine.", Grandpa Joe assured before getting excited with a realization that dawned on him.

"Look at me! Look at me! Up and about... I haven't done this in twenty years.", Grandpa Joe grinned.

"Grandpa!", Charlie shouted excitedly.

"That's amazing!", Robyn added before, as he, Charlie, and Robyn sang, Tom and Jerry have their usual slapstick shenanigans on the bed, even fighting with each other over the Golden Ticket before Tim went under the bed after Jerry, who stopped him with a big jar at one point before Jerry then ran into one of Joe's slippers, getting trapped in it and allowing Tom to pick the slipper up and whack Jerry into a basket, which closed with him inside.

Grandpa Joe: I never thought my life could be

Anything but catastrophe

But suddenly I begin to see

A bit of good luck for me

'Cause I got a golden ticket

I've got a golden twinkle

In my eye

I never had a chance to shine

Never a happy song to sing

But suddenly half the world is mine

What an amazing thing

'Cause I got a golden ticket

"It's ours, you two!", Joe grinned.

I've got a golden sun up in the sky

"Slippers, Charlie.", Joe spoke before Tom then realized his mistake and then quickly ran under the bed to put the slipper back next to the other one only to have the same jar that hit him before hit him again just as Charlie then picked up said slippers before Tom lifted the jar from in front of his face and went up, hitting the bottom of the bed and causing the jar to get stuck on top before later coming out from under the bed weakly.

Grandpa Joe: I never thought I'd see the day

When I would face the world and say

Charlie & Grandpa Joe: "Good morning

Look at the sun!"

Grandpa Joe: I never thought that I would be

Slap in the lap of luxury

'Cause I'd have said

Charlie: "It couldn't be done"

Robyn: But it can be done

"Oooh! The cane, Charlie!", Joe spoke, pointing toward it before Charlie got it for him.

"Uh, Joe? Watch out for that...!", Robyn began before Joe inadvertently pressed his cane on top of Tom's tail, making him yowl in pain as he zoomed toward the wall.

"Tail...", Robyn finished too late with a bit of a snicker before Jerry peeped out from the bucket and gave out a raspberry at Tom.

He was not afraid to poke some fun.

"Here I go! Watch my speed!", Joe spoke as Jerry then closed the basket from within, prompting Tom to search through the basket, trying to get to Jerry, leading to a tug-of-war with a brassiere in it until Jerry eventually let go, causing it to land on Tom's head before Jerry closed the basket again, this time, with Tom's hand caught in the way, making him exclaimed in pain before the cat searched through the basket again only to noice Charlie, Robyn, and Joe heading for the basket and search through their clothes, tossing some at Tom with the last two being a red sleeveless jacket with white stripes and another being a hat that Jerry was on top of with the cat, irate with him enough as it is, then trying to toss Jerry out until the mouse told him that the hat would look great on him before Tom put the hat on just as Joe was now dressed up as well.

Grandpa Joe: I never dreamed that I would climb

Over the moon in ecstasy

But nevertheless It's there that I'm

Shortly about to be

Charlie, Robyn, & Grandpa Joe: 'Cause I got a golden ticket

I've got a golden chance

To make my way

And with the golden ticket

It's a golden day

Then, Grandpa Joe, all dressed up, went to a window and opened it.

"Good morning! Look at the sun!", Joe shouted.

Soon after, as he started dancing along, so did Tom and Jerry, that is, until the former then got too dizzy and landed on Jerry, who then had to wiggle himself out and lay down on the ground, still stuck underneath Tom.

Charlie & Grandpa Joe: 'Cause I'd have said

"It couldn't be done"

Robyn: But it can be done

Grandpa Joe: I never dreamed that I would climb

Over the moon in ecstasy

But nevertheless It's there that I'm

Shortly about to be

'Cause I've got a golden ticket

Charlie, Robyn, & Grandpa Joe: I've got a golden ticket

I got a golden chance

To make my way

And with the golden ticket

It's a golden day

"October 1st... That's tomorrow!", Mrs. Bucket spoke excitedly.

"We've got a lot to do, kids. Comb your hairs, wash your faces, polish your shoes, and brush your...", Grandpa Joe began.

"I'll take care of everything, Dad.", Mrs. Bucket assured as she walked away.

"We don't have too much time.", Grandpa Joe responded.

"Grandpa, there's something else.", Robyn spoke.

"On the way home today, we ran into Mr. Slugworth.", Charlie added.
