It was hot, unbearably hot. Issei stood on a patio, leaning on a railing. The patio was high above the city attached to a small tower that was only dwarfed by the large cathedral on a nearby hill. Issei could see only desert past the city limits and soon boredom crept into his skull as he looked out. It got so hot and unbearable that Issei began to silently cast wind and ice magic to keep himself cool. "Thank you so much, Holy maiden." Spoke a man that sat kneeling in front of a blond-headed nun who had wonderous, emerald, green eyes. Something about her just makes me calm. Strange...so very Strange.
"U-uh… of course." She said obviously uncomfortable by the praise. Soon the man left after his millionth bow and left the girl alone within the tower. She exhaled, noticeable relaxing after the hard day of constantly performing her duties.
"Tired?" Issei asked noticing her eyes were beginning to droop from sleepiness. HE moved into the room, finally getting out of some of the harsh desert heat that bombarded him from the outside, however it was only slightly.
"I suppose so. I've never used my gift this much before." She said with a warm, tired smile. Issei sat down next to her, and the two began some simple small talk. She was incredibly curious about Issei, due to him not being an official exorcist, yet here he was guarding what the church deemed their most asset. "Hey, um, Sir? May I ask you something?"
"Asia, please, just call me Issei. Alright? And yes, you can ask." Issei responded with a warm smile. Something drew him to her. It was a warm feeling like sitting next to a fireplace on a snowy day yet refreshing like an ice-cold water on a hot day. The feeling perplexed Issei to the point of bothering him greatly.
"Oh, uh ok. Why did you refuse to take your vows to the church? I mean don't get me wrong I understand it's very personal, but…I…would like to know."
"You're right Asia, it is very personal. However, although I have only known for what two weeks now…I'll tell you." Her face beamed in excitement. "My mother was an exorcist, she didn't take her vows because she always wanted to have a family, however one day a fallen angel came and killed her. Nearly killed me as well, but I was saved by… oh how do I put this…by someone allied with the Greek pantheon. Ever since I have aligned myself with them.
"The Greek pantheon?" she asked tilting her head in confusion.
"You know, Zeus, Poseidon, hades?"
"They really exist?" she nearly squealed in very cute manner. Her mannerisms brought a small smile to Issei as he watched the normally shy girl act in such a relaxed manner. As she mused around, Issei could feel her energy. It was a soft green light that seemed to rejuvenate him alongside some comfort. As examined, it further he noticed a rather strange draconic presence, however it wasn't strong enough for him to consider her being a dragon or a sacred gear.
Ymey, Ddriag, any ideas? Issei mentally asked his internal beings that had taken residence within him.
She could possibly have a dragon lure within her. Spoke back Ddraig in a rather exhausted voice. Ddraig's explanation left many more questions for Issei, luckily Ymey noticed.
It's a trait within certain individuals that make them perfect dragon tamers. It's like dragon fruit. Easily sought after, however easily exploitable. Issei mentally nodded at the information bringing him out of his thought, luckily just after Asia exited her cute outburst.
"So, have you met any of the gods?" Asia asked eager for more information.
"I have, Asia. I was trained personally by Artemis in hunting and in archery, while Zeus himself taught me magic. I have also met Hades and Poseidon; however, Poseidon doesn't like me very much." Issei responded as he scratched the back of his head.
"The god of the seas doesn't favor you. May I ask why?" Asia asked as she tilted her head in a cute way symbolizing her confusion.
"Well…uh, you know how Poseidon has a bunch of lovers right?" Asia nodded, "well there is one goddess that Poseidon just can't seem to attract and that is Demeter the goddess of harvest and well…how do I say this…She kind of has a thing for me." Asia nodded in only half understanding. Her innocence getting the better of her in that regard.
"I see. Well don't try to make him too mad." She said, however Issei noticed that she didn't have a full grasp of what he meant, decided not to explain any further. However, now that thought about it, he should count himself lucky to be alive after all since they did arrive here on boat. Yeah, I'm going to teleport after this. No way in hell am I going to go back on a boat.
Issei began to see that night was quickly approaching, which finally gave him some relief. He knew that this blazing heat would soon turn to frigid cold and that was something he could handle far better. He looked back to see Asia still holding her smile, although something was obviously burdening her. "Everything alright?" asked Issei in concern.
"I'm alright, just, I don't feel well." Now that she mentioned it, Issei could see very telltale signs of fatigue on her face. In fact, she was turning pale by the moment.
"I suppose you need some rest." Issei said as he picked up the girl in a bridal carry which caused a massive blush to encircle her check. Soon, Issei poured energy around himself and Asia and soon the two disappeared from the room in blinding silver light.
The duo reappeared in a rather bland room. The only light entering the room was from the sunset peeking through the closed blinds. Issei moved Asia over to her bed, laying her down softly before casting magic once again, causing her nun outfit to be replaced by a set of rather cozy sleepwear. Asia made some attempts to hide her blush as Issei placed her nun outfit on a nearby dresser. "Asia, will you be alright for the night?"
"Oh, uh, yes I will be." She said tiredly.
"Alright, you have my phone number so if you need to leave the room for any reason or need of me, then don't hesitate to call." Issei said with a warm tone as he left the room.
Issei found himself in a rather unassuming hallway as he began to cast magic on the nun's room. Powerful wards and defensive magic began to form along the entirety of the room, Issei leaving no margin for error. Slowly the Wards finished and Issei began to place more wards within the room. From previous experience he knew that it was best to not only protect the target from external threats but also to keep them in one place. Example primarily being that one and only time Issei 'volunteered' to protect one Sairaorg Bael, who kept leaving his room late at night to find something to fight. Ever since that mission Issei had always made sure to practically trap his target and to never take requests from the Bael clan of the underworld.
Once the wards were completed, Issei pulled out his phone and dialed in a number to none other than Motohama. After a few rings, the phone picked up.
"Hey…Issei…" He said in pained breathes.
"Motohama, I was wondering how your training is going." Issei asked mostly with a sly smile.
"These…girls…are insane. Akeno…is a…fuck I'm tired…sadist." Issei almost began to laugh at his friend's misfortune, however controlled himself since he felt bad.
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon. Better enjoy that while it lasts because…I'm worse." Issei said coldly. Suddenly a large thunderous boom crackled from the other end of the line.
"Shit, they found me…god, ow, help me…" Motohama said as the line ended. Little did Issei know of the torture his friend was being put through.
Motohama, ran as fast as he could through the tree line, dodging bolt after bolt of lighting that was being flung around by an aerial Akeno. After he passed by some scorched trees, Motohama tripped on a root and faceplanted into a batch of mud. Dazed, he looked back to see Akeno standing over him. "ara ara, you are quite fast." She said in a seductive tone.
"You're…insane." Motohama said in a panting breathes.
"If there is anyone to blame, It's issei. He was the one who gave us the training regiment for you." Akeno said as she pulled out a piece of paper from a pocket in her skirt. Motohama quickly grabbed the slip of paper and looked through its contents.
Motohama, while being rather weak does show a high aptitude for magic. Since his aptitude is more focused on fire magic, I believe that I am the best suited to teaching him.
However, while I'm gone, train him in stamina and agility, for one needs a strong body to handle strong magic.
Thanks!
Motohama nearly had a meltdown as he read it. "It didn't say anything about nearly trying to kill me!" he exclaimed as Akeno laughed with a hand covering her mouth in a very formal manner. That's when he finally knew that he would kill Issei as soon as he came back for being too God damned vague.
Issei, however, was enjoying the cool fresh air of nighttime Jerusalem. Compared to the blistering heat of the day, Issei finally found comfort in this environment. His body had always been more attuned to frigid climates mostly because of the effects Ymey had on his body after Ymey began to metamorphize Issei's body into that of a dragon.
However, Issei wasn't standing atop the roof of his target's residence just for relaxation, as if any passer by would have saw him, they would have seen a tall man with glowing silver eyes scanning the environment.
Issei noticed many things that brought him worry. Jerusalem, even though it was the holy city, was plagued by devils. Mostly strays, due to the weakened angel occupation in the area caused by the Egyptians, now strays believe this to be a safe area of sorts. However, what caught the attention of Issei was a familiar devil energy that kept creeping closer and closer. It was a green aura, somewhat similar to Asia's in that regard, however it held a vicious and sadist feeling to it that made Issei want to immediately destroy it.
It kept creeping closer to Asia's dorm, so Issei took it as a threat and immediately activated the first line of defense, which was an elaborate set of scanning magic to help him find his enemy. As it activated, he immediately felt all his senses kick up into 2nd gear. 15 individual presences were felt, all carried a similar version to the one he felt before however they were incredibly weak in comparison. Issei pushed out his sight and found his enemy. Dark cyan hair, purple and amber eyes. He knew this person from his few exchanges with Akuja Beelzebub, one of the Satans of hell. Diodora Astaroth, brother of Akuja.
Of course, he would be here, with all the weird fetishes this guy has. Issei thought as he began to observe the boy. Issei noticed that one of the other presences which he assumed was one of his servants was cutting into his chest incredibly deep, however he did notice that it all non-lethal. He began to speculate of his motives until it finally crossed his mind. So, you're going to try and make her heal you. Damned creep.
Issei was brought out of his thoughts when the boy in question appeared, faking a limp towards the dorm. He was roughly ten meters away before Issei jumped in front of the idiotic devil.
"Hello, Diodora."
Diodora's eyes widened upon realizing who was standing before him, somewhat unnerved by Issei's presence. "Well, isn't the famed mercenary. I'm a tad busy so shoo." Suddenly all his servants appeared, each standing on the rooftops above.
"Sorry, I'm on the clock." Issei said he undid the seal on his hidden sword allowing to expand into his normal form. The holy energy of the blade wafted over the group causing the weaker willed to become sick and pale. Suddenly, a servant sprung into action, and with intense speed clashed against Issei with a blade of her own.
The blades locked, however Issei used his superior strength to push the blade down and used it to spring over the girl, sending a power kick to right side launching her into a nearby wall. Diodora was amused by Issei's show of skill towards his servant as several other began to fling spells and other armaments at him. He dodged many, sometimes using his blade to bat away any spell that were too close. However, Issei noticed that they were also targeting Asia's room that stood behind him, so his movement became limited as he tried to keep many of the more destructive spells away from her.
Another servant came to challenge Issei to a bladed duel, however Issei was getting tired of this charade. Their blades locked with Issei pushing the blade up, disarming the girl before, effortlessly striking her. The blade cut through like a hot knife to butter, dismembering the girl from the shoulder all the way down to her hip, effectively cutting her in half. The body slumped down in two as all the girls that Diodora had in his peerage saw was a mad man with a maniacal grin.
"You lowly human!" Diodora cried as he took to the skies with his devil wings. Magic circles popped up around him as he began to blast magic after magic at Issei. However, much to the shock of Diodora and his servants who too were flying beside their master, Issei focused energy into his back and suddenly four wings sprouted from his back tearing his clothes. Each were dragon wings, two a mossy steel and the others red with a glow of green. Issei looked back in surprise, huh, I guess Ddraig had an influence
Of course, I did, your path is to slay the white one. Why would I not put power into your dragon form. Yelled Ddraig, once again in a rather pained voice.
Issei smirked and looked at the group of devils with his silted golden eyes that had rim of red around the iris. He could see Diodora, now further pissed, "So a lowly dragon huh, even more disgusting." He yelled as more magic began to come forth at Issei.
Issei could feel the various form of magic bash against his wings scales as he used them as a shield. The heat of fire, the sting of lightning, the chill of Ice. All too familiar yet all unpleasant. Suddenly the magic stopped and issei looked to see that most of his figure was covered in smokey debris, however his superior senses allowed him to see most of the enemy was completely drained, leaving only Diodora and what he presumed his queen left. Luckily, Issei's wings didn't have even a single scratch. "So, the damn dragon is de…" Diodora stopped as he felt a powerful wind form behind him.
Turning back, he saw the figure of Issei, blade at the ready with a bone chilling smile. His movements were fluid and precise. His sword slashed through the exhausted members of Diodora's group, some being decapitated, some cut to a thousand pieces. His movements were too fast for the devil to keep up, until he felt the blade singe into his left arm as he plummeted to the ground. Diodora's vision was blurred, only clearing enough for him to see all his group dead, almost unrecognizable and he saw the figure of the deadly dragon flying up ahead, with a full moon causing his form to be silhouetted.
Issei lowered himself to the ground, looming over the wounded High-class devil. "You know, you're incredibly luckily. Diodora Astaroth." The devil in question only whimpered and coughed blood. "If you were anyone else, you would be dead. However, I don't need your brother being all pissy with me." Issei said as he created a magic circle over the stub that once was an arm, stopping the bleeding. The dragon grabbed the devil by the collar and looked at the dorm of his mission. After noticing no harm to the room or its inhabitant, the two disappeared in a flash of silver.
A man, with bright green hair, sat in a rather lavish desk surrounded by people all dressed in lab coats. Each one was attempting to get his attention with anew discovery or invention, all of which in his eyes were terrible compared to his creations, most notably being the evil pieces. The man, named Ajuka Beelzebub, was bored out of his mind. At least until a magic circle appeared on his ear.
"Lord Beelzebub, someone has requested entry into your office via teleportation. We stopped them in limbo, however you brother is currently with him, Sir." Ajuka raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Sure, send them in." he said in a sigh as he knew this was probably not going to be a fun visit. The magic circle within the room began to glow a silver and gold color, which much to the enjoyment of Ajuka, caused the numerous people within the room to leave at its sighting.
Two figures appeared, one being the bloodied form of his brother and the other being a dragon with four powerful wings, who he knew to be the hunter of Artemis, Issei Hyoudou. "a pleasure as always, Hyoudou. May I ask why my brother is in the pitiful state that he is in." Asked Ajuka not allowing any sympathy to cross into his formal, profession speak.
"Your brother was attempting to corrupt a holy maiden of the church who was on official assignment. I'm sure you can find the error in such a case, as if there was an angel guarding her then not only would your brother be dead, but a war could has easily started. I hope you take the most immediate action to reprimand him." Spoke Issei returning the profession tone and speech.
"And his peerage?"
"Dead. All 14 members." Ajuka sighed as he grasped the whimpering form of his brother. Issei saw the action and left once again in a bright light, hoping that the Issue would resolve itself.
Upon Issei's exit, Ajuka went form formal Satan to cruel brother. "What the hell is wrong with you!" he yelled as he struck his brother across the room.
"She was mine…I would've had her if not for the damned…" he stopped as Ajuka struck him again this time breaking his nose.
"I will not hear it. You have lost all right to be called the heir of Astaroth, no, you lost the right to be called a high-class devil." Ajuka yelled again before composing himself. "Mother and father will hear of this, and they will deal with you accordingly." He said as he casted a teleportation spell, sending his deadbeat of a brother away. Once done, Ajuka sat at his desk as he began filing more paperwork in regard to this foolish scene, all the while thanking Issei for not killing him outright.
Alright, another one done.
