Will we ever be a normal family again?

The only thing that ran through Chases mind was that one sentence, he just wanted everything to go back to normal, maybe at least this one day they'll be like a normal family again...or maybe not.

The pups were playing outside while Chase and Skye were inside playing Pup Pup Boogie together, being competitive as always.

Their match lasted a while before they decided to join the pups outside.

"Chase, I don't know if it's me but did you get better at Pup Pup Boogie?" Skye asked.

"Well, you know, I have been practicing. Maybe I'm just getting better, maybe better than you." Chase said jokingly.

"You can't beat me!" Skye exclaimed.

"I know, I was just messing with you." Chase stated.

"So...Chase, you wanna go outside with the rest of the pups?"

"Yeah, just go I'll catch up with you in a few minutes." Chase said.

"Something wrong?" Skye asked.

"No, I'm just really tired." Chase stated.

"Ok, just come outside if you want." Skye said before she nuzzled Chase and left.

Chase was all alone in the Lookout, after Skye left, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Chase found himself in a weird place, in front of him was a long path that led forward, looked as if it never ended.

The Shepherd followed the path and to his left and right there were events unfolding.

First one was when he was in the woods, second one was when he was fighting Maverick at the burning warehouse, and the last one was nothing. Chase was confused until he saw something coming towards him, he didn't know what it was until it got closer, it was Maverick.

The Shepherd had something in his paw, he tried attacking but Chase blocked him.

"You think I'm dead right?!" Maverick asked as he kept trying to attack Chase.

"What do you want from me?!" Chase asked as he kept dodging his attacks.

"You think you and the rest of the Paw Patrol are safe?!" Maverick asked.

Chase pinned Maverick and started to choke him.

"What do you want?!" Chase asked as he started to choke him harder.

"Just one thing Chase...you're so close to finding out the truth, let me give you a hint, it's back at the warehouse." Maverick said before disappearing.

Chase opened his eyes and realized he was choking Skye, he immediately stopped.

"Oh god, Skye I-I'm so sorry, I didn't know that you were-." Chase said as he helped Skye.

"It's fine, Chase, I'm fine." Skye said while coughing and gasping for air.

"Skye, I thought you were with the pups?" Chase asked.

"I was, but I wanted to check on you, I heard you talking to yourself, again."Skye said still coughing.

"Just when I thought today was going to be a normal day." Chase said to himself as he stood up.

"Chase, where are you going?" Skye asked.

"I'm going back to the warehouse." Chase said before leaving.

The Shepherd entered the burned down warehouse, looking around for anything that could help him out, it was stretch that the dream he had would shed some answers but it was something he had to take. As he walked around until he saw a door, Chase looked at it for a while and then it started banging, the Shepherd backed up and was ready for anything, but nothing happened.

The confused pup had no idea what was happening but as he went to check what was lurking on the other side of the door, it immediately swung open, knocking the pup back a bit.

"Surprise!" Maverick bursted through the door and pinned the Shepherd down.

"What the?!" Chase yelled out.

"Did you miss me, Chase?!" Maverick asked as he started to put pressure on Chase's paw.

"This is for throwing me in a damn fire!" Maverick yelled out as he put pressure on Chase's paw.

The crazed dog put pressure on Chase's paw, nearly breaking both his front paw and his hind leg.

"Ahhh! Maverick! Stop!" Chase begged as tears of pain started to come out.

Chase's vision started to blur, and Maverick had a syringe in his paw, with blood in it.

"You see this? It's your old wolf blood, you see it won't kill you or the pups, but it will change them. First they'll go feral, then later on, they'll change into wolves. you know it almost happened to Aurora but you killed her." Maverick explained as Chase groveled in pain. "Oh I almost forgot, you might want to go back to the Lookout, the pups might be having a problem with a certain someone. A bite transfers, you know." Maverick laughed.

"Wh-what?" Chase asked as he winced at the pain.

"See you another time, Wolfy." Maverick saluted as he left.

The wounded Shepherd tried his best to get up but, in the end, he couldn't.

"Co-come on, Chase, you can do it. Come on, ig-ignore the pa-pain." Chase said to himself as he tried to get up again.

"Co-come on Chase, don't give up..." That was the last thing Chase could say before losing consciousness.

Skye was laying down on the floor of the Lookout, waiting for Chase to come back, as she was doing so, Marshall came in to check up on her.

"Hey Skye, how are you feeling?" Marshall asked before laying down next to her.

"I'm feeling a little better but my paw still hurts from that bite from Aurora." Skye stated..

"Yeah...Aurora. Is...is Chase still feeling guilty about it?" Marshall asked.

"Yeah." Skye lowered her ears.

"I know it's not his fault and so do the other pups, it's just Rocky who still thinks it was Chase's fault. Rocky needs to relax about it, I mean, I know how much she meant to him, but still, there was nothing Chase could do." Marshall defended.

"I know, It's still kind of why Chase still feels guilty about it." Skye added.

"Where is Chase by the way?" Marshall asked.

"Oh...um...he just went for walk in the town." Skye said nervously.

"Well he's been gone for a while, I'm going to call him, make sure he's ok." Marshall said.

"No! I mean...uh I'm sure he's fine." Skye said smiling.

"Well, I'm still going to call him." Marshall said as he tapped his pup tag.

Marshall called Chase but there was no answer, he tried calling him again but still no answer.

"Skye, he's not answering, I don't think he's fine." Marshall said. "Is there something you're not telling me?" Marshall asked.

Skye sighed.

"Ok, he went to the warehouse a while ago, he didn't tell me how long he was going to be there." Skye explained.

"I'll tell Ryder to track his puptag, let's hope he still has it on him. You think he's ok Skye?" Marshall asked.

"No! Don't tell Ryder!" Skye begged.

"What, why?" Marshall asked.

"Let's just keep it between us, let's just go to the warehouse to find him." Skye suggested.

"Are you sure?" Marshall questioned.

"Yeah, come on, let's go." Skye gestured for the Dalmatian to agree, which he did.

After getting their rigs and driving to the warehouse, Skye and Marshall hopped out of their rigs and went inside, they ended up walking for minutes until they found Chase on the ground, bruised up.

"Chase!" Skye and Marshall said in unison.

The two pups checked Chase and saw his injured paws.

"Oh no! who did this?" Skye asked as she examined Chase.

"We don't got time to figure out, come on, let's get him out of here and back home." Marshall advised.

Marshall picked up Chase and carried him to his truck.

"Don't worry buddy, you'll be fine, someone's gonna pay for this." Marshall thought to himself.
