" Agmaer, This is a bad idea."

" What do you mean, we've done this before."

"No, we haven't, last time you ran off and I had to do the begging part infront of Isran."

" Trust me, this time will be different."

"It is."

" How so?"

" This time both of us are running off."

The two Hunters had been arguing for some time now, whether to go forth with their little operation or not. They had been planning this small raid for weeks now and jumping out seemed a bit foolish at this point in time. The consequences might haunt them later when they return to Day Spring Canyon but for now it had to be carried out.

Agmaer, a rookie made warrior, pursuaded his companion to tag along. He surprised even himself at times. A year ago he could not speak to save his life, being nervous and all. He remembers those days quite often. All the effort he made and the suffering he went through to become a high ranking member of the Dawnguard. He remembers a year ago when he couldn't muster the courage to face Isran and how hard it was to join the order. He came to them with one goal in mind. To protect his people.

How could he forget that it was his companion that helped him, motivated him to go forward, to push himself to new levels. Confidence and strength only followed. Its been a year and he has grown so much since than. From a nervous woodcutter to a fully fledged Vampire Hunter who, convinced the DragonBorn to accompany him on this dangerous mission that could get them both expelled from the Order.

" Look. We both know how important this is." Agmaer said.

" I know, thats why we going." His friend replied.

" Good, uh, wait, what did you say?" Agmaer looked puzzled at his companion. Completely amazed at his response.

" You heard me."

"Okay, right. But what I think I just heard was... Did you just agree with me?"

"Must've imagined it."

"No, no, no, I'm sure this one was real. I can count on my one hand how many times you've agreed with me in my entire-" Agmaer was cut off from finishing his sentence when his friends hand covered his mouth.

"Shhh, They here." Agmaer looked surprised until he followed the gaze of his companion to a caravan that appeared out of the misty fog. Many figures formed from the mist, now visible to the eye. First men than horses and then the entire caravn came in to view. Some of them were covered in some ritualistic robes and some were heavily armored

Vampires and their Faithful Thralls.

Fortunately for the two of them, the fogy weather of the Rift were on their side. The armour they were wearing was undetectable by the farsight of the Vampires, thanks to the combined effort of Florentius's alchemy and Gunmar's Smithing. They managed to forge a complete set of new magical Armour, devastating to all the Vampire's capabilities and at the disposal of the Order.

Agmer and the Dragonborn were hiding behind some rocks close to the road the caravan was passing. By now the entire caravan came into view. It was not that big, maybe 30 vampires maximum(including their thralls). If Agmaer was not mistaken, the caravan was coming from Black Briar Logde.

Interesting, what were they doing with the Black Briars.

A few weeks ago, during one of their raids in a Cave near Sarethi Farm, Riften. They ecounted A vampire much like some of the ones here, wearing those strange robes. Agmaer calls them raids because most of the time the Vampires are hiding in some cave or burrow or some abandoned fort or hive as Agmaer liked to call it. Hiding in groups and cowering behind their thralls with all the wealth that they have gathered. No longer coming out at night feeding and terrorizing the helpless and feeble travelers.

After they cleard the cave of every last Vampire and put to rest, every last thrall. They came across the robed one who was strangely enough, held captive by his own brothers and sisters. A question that both Agmaer and the Dragonborn didn't know the answer to.

He was dead

They found, only a letter on him. There were a set of diferent coordinates around Skyrim and a small note written on it, which read:

DO NOT FEAR, DO NOT GRIEVE FOR WE WILL CHANGE THE TIDE, MY BROTHER

SEEK US OUT!

And so it continued for weeks on end, They searched for what was to be found at these coordinates, without that is, the authorization of their order. They strongly believed isran would shook it off as another goose chase and probably listen to half the stuff they told him, so they took matters in the own hands. Agmaer was a tad too happy to see his companion finally agreeing with him. For the Dragonborn n was always in Isran's good books and that he was never. Agmaer wasn't sure if it were the bitter fact that this man was the legendary Dragonborn or that Isran just didn't like him at all. In fact all the members in the inner circle were in Isran's good books besides him.

It was also quite worrisome that he agreed with Agmaer because he never does. This means it must be a serious matter. Agmaer could tell, during the past few days, he's been up the earliest, always moving and sleeping very little.

"I see them, I count at least thirty of them."

" .Nir." he heard the Dragonborn whisper.

By now Agmaer was accustomed by these strange words uttered by the Dragonborn. It was proof after all that this was no mere mortal beside him but the one they call dragonborn. An individual with a body of a mortal but the soul and blood of a dragon. The one who can learn the ancient shouts in mere seconds. It would take the average person hundreds of years to learn even one shout.

"Thirty one, there's one in the carriage." the Dragonborn said after a while.

" Okay. So whats the game plan, my friend." Agmaer looked at the Dragonborn, he was focused as if looking for an opening to strike.

"There.* The Dragonborn pointed out."I be the first one to give cover than its your turn.

" Right. Who you going for?" Agmaer asked.

" The one in the carrige." he answered before jumping from his place between the rocks.

" Fus." The vampires quickly turned their heads towards the direction of the strange sound but by that time it was too late for all of them.

" Ro Da! "

A massive force of wind left the dragonborns mouth and flew towards the caravan with raw power. With the force stronger than any hurrican it blew past the caravan, leaving none safe from its blast. It pushed aside all who were standing to the ground, the horses included and it send the main carriage into the air before landing with a crash of wood and splinters.

Agmaer didnt waste anytime and charged forth into the enemy. He unsheathed, his father's axe, which by now had been upgraded tenfold. Quickly, Agmaer hacked off the heads of those still on the ground before they could get a chance to stand up again. After he passed the eighth body, he threw his pa's axe with lighting speed into the ninth one straight ahead of him, who had just managed to stand up. Vampiric screams of pain and agony could be heard in the cold dark air, as Agmaer killed one after another.

The Dragonborn on the other hand, rushed towards his target, the broken carrige, only to find the one inside attempting to escape.

It was a woman

She moved with her vampric speed across the plain, hoping to escape, her enemies.

"Wuld." The Dragonborn began.

She gave a quick glance back.

" Nah Kest!"

When she faced back it was too late. The Dragonborn was right in front of her, then everything stopped and she was on the ground, held by two warm hands.

"Speak before I sever you head from your body." he said.

She looked up at him and stared with her orange eyes into his blue ones, examining him, before she laughed. It felt as if the laugh was coming from inside of him. He quickly placed some strenght into the hold.

" What's so funny. "

" You are. " she stated. " All of you are. You miserable sheep. You have no idea what's coming, do you. " She spatted out.

"What is coming?" the dragonborn questioned, haltung in his righteous fury.

"You don't know do you?" she started laughing again. "you ignorant worm!"

" Enough woman, tell me or else I will end you right now." She was lucky to have been a woman, otherwise she'd be dead by now, the Dragonborn thought.

His hands became hot, burning hot, around her neck. A soft hiss escaped her lips.

" I won't ask again. " He meant it.

"Fine, but It will be your death mortal. To think all this time, having a great advantage that the Sun provides over my people and still not being able to defeat us. We are unstoppable

" That looks different from my point of view. "

" Hah and the famous Dragonborn joins the famous Dawnguard in their holy crusade to eradicate vapirism from the world. All of that is about to end."

" How so?"

" We have found the key to turning the tide of this war, once and for all.

" I wouldn't exactly call this, a war."

She ignored him. " After so many years we have found the Key to our salvation, and we intend to release it."

" What! Release, salvation, what key?" he had to many questionsto to ask and feared there was little time.

" Time is running out, Dragonborn. This will be the end for you and the Dawnguard." The vampire said, happily.

" Speak! What is the end? What is the key? " he cried out.

" First, you die." she moved her head fast to meet his neck but before that an axe came, speeding right into her forehead.

" That's enough of that. " A voice came behind him.

" Hey, that was our only lead. " The Dragonborn said to his friend, who was by now covered in Vampire blood.

" No it wasn't, I got the location."

" Good."

" But first we need to go back to Isran. "

" Wait what. "

Whiterun was a place many called home, few ever leave and none detested. its position on a large bluff that raises the city above the surrounding plains, makes it the jewel city of the entire hold and a centre location for commerce in all of Skyrim. There are three districts in the city. The Plains District of is home to the city's shops and market, while the Wind District is mostly a residential district. The Jarl's palace, Dragonsreach, dominates the Cloud District.

Dragonreach, the towering fortress dominates the cloud district, its roots go deep in history and legends has it that besides the main hall, it is big enough to hold a dragon.

This same fortress where lydia, the housecarl or protector of the thane of Whiterun, now rushes down the steps, to the plains district. All the markets and shops are located here. It is also home to the less privileged or for better, the poor. Business and debauchery dominates this district. Many traders have have failed in their attempt to establish themselves here and only some have succeed.

One such trader is Ysolda. A bargain hunter and keen tradeswoman, she made her success in dealing with the khajit caravans, trading expensive and exotic merchandise. Thus earning her quite the wealth. With it she purchased many shops across the country and the famous banned mare inn where travelers from all over Skyrim come to seek comfort and ease.

She retired from all her businesses, after she married the Thane of Whiterun and now lives with him in their home north of the city, called the Tundra Homestead. Now after many years, she had everything she ever wanted. She achieved her goals, met the man of her dreams and now had the opportunity to raise a Beautiful family, she was satisfied. She was happy.

But why was Lydia coming to her, with a distressed look on her face

Bad news perhaps?

" Good morning, Lydia"

"Morning."

" What brings you in this part of the city and oh dear, why so worried?"

" Its my thane, my lady. Your husband."

"He has ordered me to accompany you on your journey to-."

" Journey? What journey?"

" To Solitude, my lady."

"Solitude!? Why? How?"

"I will explain on the way, my lady, I promise.

Ysolda sighed" ohkay. Why is he always like this."

" He cares for you my lady, alot. "

" I know that but he needs to understand that I can take care of myself. "

" He understands this but you need to trust him. "

" Trust him?! Hah, okay nevermind, who am I kidding, I'm talking to his protector.

" Sorry, my lady."

" No its fine Lydia, no need to apologize, I will speak to him about this in private, hopefully." Ysolda said. "Say when are we leaving?"

"In about three hours."

There was only one way to access Fort Dawunguard and that as through Dayspring Canyon, East of Riften. It was hiddent deep within the Velothi mountains and close to the boder to Morrowind. All of this added much to its already secured location. The old architecture of the fort still brought shivers to the mind, if one might not have seen the guards and palisades outside the walls than he or she would mistaken this to be a castle for some dark lord.

It was founded by the jarl of Riften, during the second era as a fortress to quarantine his son who fell to vampirism. He had contracted a large mercenary force, he called the "Dawnguard, " in order to keep his son safe. After some time as the leaders changed, their mission also changed and soon they changed too. From mercenary to protectors and hunters. From guarding one person to guarding all of skyrim.

What happened afterwards is a blur in the history books as to why it shut down but one thing is for certain, they have returned under the leadership of Isran, the founder of the modern Dawnguard and former vigilante of Stendarr.

Agmaer opened the huge doors to the fortress and entered into the main hall.

"Well isn't this a surprise" Celann greeted the two hunters.

"I can explain." the Dragonborn spoke up.

"No, no, no, I think the two of you should go straight to Isran. He would want to see you, personally." Sorine bursted in.

Oh crap.

"Hey, is no one happy to us." Agmaer said, hoping to break the awkward space.

"Maybe the trolls, yes." Gunmar said sarcastically.

" Okay seriously, I know you guys gather here because you knew we were coming but to tell you the truth, this time we actually need to see Isran.

Everyone gasped and then a thick voice spoke came from above, together with a bright light shining on all of them, instantly gaining everyones attention

" You need to see me, well before you see me, I need to see you." Isran said, his tone serious.

"Isran we explain. Something-" Agmaer began.

"No I think the two of you have done enough explaining over the past few months. I don't need you excuse, what I need right now, is for the Dragonborn to come up here, immediately."

"What?!" all of them said in unison.

"You heard me! Come up! Now!"

" He has a name." Sorine stated.

Everyone glanced at her and Isran, Agmaer was giving a sign to stop in her tracks but she paid no attention.

"That is not important, The world knows him as Dovakin." Isran said.

"Its important to him so say his name." She said, not breaking eye contact with Isran, before he left the balcony.

"Hey, hey Sorine its fine. We know Isran already." The dragonborn said.

"I swear, that man." Sorine said, her irritation clear.

he started walking past his companions to the staircase entrance, nearby. He gave a nod to Agmaer before proceeding but was stopped at the entrance.

" Anduin! " Sorine called out

He turned around.

" Goodluck. "

" Thanks"

Anduin walked up the circular staircase until he reached the top floor, Isran quarters and also the home to the Sun trap, An ancient dwarven mechanism that when activated, creates an artifical Sun.

As he reached near the room. He saw Isran speaking to someone but he could not make out who it was due to the person sitting on the chair, facing the fireplace.

When he entered the room, Isran turned towards him and said. "before you spill the beans, I want to know exactly why in Stendarrs name, is Lord Volkihar looking for you.

" Lord Volkihar? Whos that. "

" One of the only Pure blood vampires in Tamriel.". Isran stated nonchalantly.

" Pure-blood vampire?! Where is this vampire? "

" Here I am." he rose from the chair and faced Anduin.

" I must say, Its an honour to finally meet the Dragonborn." Lord Volkihar approached him and stretched out his hand, which Anduin took.

"The honour is mine, lord-"

"Harkon, lord Harkon. Leader of the Volkihar Vampire clan and lord to the Volkihar castle, in the Frozen North. "

"Anduin, my name is Anduin."

"Its a pleasure Anduin, Isran has told me so much about you, he says you are as good as slaying vampires as you are slaying dragons."

The two men laughed. Anduin didn't know if he took offence at that or not.

"So why is there is a pure-blood vampire in Fort Dawnguard? Standing toe to toe with Isran." Anduin said, wanting to get to the subject at hand.

"If it weren't a world ending matter, I would've cut off his head the minute I saw him." Isran pointed out.

"its thats serious, huh. Hey how could you have passed the forts defences like that." Anduin said.

"I am not like the vampires you faced before, Dragonborn."

" You heard that Isran?" Anduin said.

"there, there enough chit-chat, Tell me why in Stendarrs holy name is a Vampire looking for the Dragonborn."

The room went silent again.

"His help of course."

"My help, why?"

" its obvious, you have saved perhaps not just Skyrim but all of Tamriel from the world eater himself. Now, at present, a group of vampires seeks to bring upon this world, the ultimate evil."

He was speaking about the cultists, Anduin thought.

"I faced this group before, they call themselves the true children of Molog Bal."

" A fanatic cult, I presume, my clan has been hunting them down ever since they emerged."

" So let me guess, you want us to get involved in your little civil war, please that is beneath us, our job is to place all of you under the stake."Isran said, cutting into the conversation.

" You don't understand, we are not like them, they seek to revive a great evil that will bring the destruction of both vampires and humans alike. "

"they spoke about a key yes, something to change the tide of the war" Anduin finally said

"There is no war when we hunting them down like skevers. Isran said.

" That is correct, they seek the key and they have found it. " Lord Harkon assured the Dragonborn

" What is this key? " he asked.

Lord harkon continued. "A pure-blood vampire. They seek to revive the creature, this we cannot allow for if we fail, This creature will drain the blood of vampire and human alike, nothing will stop it from causing chaos and suffering in the world. It wishes to change all of Tamriel into a twisted form of Coldharbour in which there will exist only death despair and infinite cruelty, where the fortunate ones will be enslaved to her will."

"You know this creature?" Anduin asked, curious at his description.

"Sadly, yes. My wife and I are responsible for sealing her away long ago to protect all of Nirn. This great evil is my Daughter, Serana."
