Chapter 31: The Dark Chocolate Mines
Author's Note: Hello, everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it? I apologize for the long absence. I've been taking a mental health break. I want to make it clear that I will never quit any of my stories, and I will never leave this fandom permanently.
Due to how long I was gone, and how many reviews were left in my absence, this chapter will unfortunately not have any review responses. I apologize for the inconvenience. However, everything will go back to normal in the next chapter.
I hope you all will enjoy this long, action-packed, and way overdue chapter.
Enjoy. :)
The group followed Mr. Wonka and Charlie out of the Jawbreaking Gobstoppers room towards their next destination, which led to more small conversations as they found themselves walking down another small corridor with grey walls and a red carpeted floor.
"Why did Mindy have to be the third one eliminated, and not Tyler?" Daniel was heard mumbling under his breath.
"I heard that!" Tyler snapped back. "It's obviously because I'm better than her and Mr. Wonka and Charlie like me better!"
"Quite right, son," Kitsune beamed, patting her son on the back proudly.
"Um, no," Mr. Wonka whispered to his heir as they continued their journey to the next room. "I swear, if Tyler and his mother do anything more on this tour, I'll throw both my top hat and cane into the incinerator."
"Mr. Wonka, I have a question," Chris interjected. "How will the Oompa-Loompas take Mindy to the boiler room?"
"I'm glad ya asked!" Mr. Wonka smiled, turning his head towards Chris. "Remember when I mentioned the Great Glass Cargo Elevator at the beginning of the tour? They'll use that to transfer her there, no problem at all! In fact, we're coming up towards our next destination shortly!"
After about a minute or two of walking down the corridor, Mr. Wonka and Charlie Bucket stopped in front of two clear glass doors. Charlie pressed a button that was situated next to them, and a dinging sound was heard, followed by the doors opening.
"Welcome to the Great Glass Elevator!" Charlie proclaimed as he and Mr. Wonka ushered the remaining members of the group inside. "This is by far the factory's most impressive invention, if I do say so myself."
Chris and Jenna looked around at their new surroundings, and they could only gape in wonder. The entire elevator was made of clear glass, and all of its walls, and even the ceiling, were covered in push buttons!
"What's so impressive about it?" Daniel Sparkman asked. "It's just an elevator made out of glass."
"Bulletproof glass, may I add," Mr. Wonka said. "It's also heatproof, coldproof, and one-hundred percent Knidproof!"
"Knidproof?" Daniel Sparkman questioned. "What the heck are Knids?"
"Vermicious Knids, little boy," Mr. Wonka said with a hint of a smile. "The most vicious beasts in the universe. But now's not the time to dawdle. We need to get to our next room!"
Chris and Jenna decided to use this opportunity to look at the buttons around them. Each of them had a tiny label next to them to show where it took the contraption.
"Uh, Mr. Wonka and Charlie?" Jenna enquired. "Do you really have this many floors?"
Mr. Sparkman's eyes sank a little at this remark, but nobody noticed. Charlie looked at Jenna with a proud smirk on his face.
"Why, this is another thing that makes this Elevator special!" the heir proclaimed. "It can go longways and sideways and slantways and any other way you can think of! Try it!"
"Take your pick!" Mr. Wonka encouraged. "In each room, something scrumdidlyumptious is being made inside, haha!"
Chris and Jenna continued looking at the buttons around them, searching for one to press.
COCONUT ICE-SKATING RINK
MINT JUJUBES THAT MAKE YOUR NEIGHBOR'S TEETH GREEN FOR A MONTH
MARSHMALLOW FOREST
MAGIC HAND FUDGE
INVISIBLE CHOCOLATE BARS FOR EATING IN CLASS
LOOMPALAND ZOO
CHOCOLATE RECORDS AND TURNTABLES
ROCK CANDY MINE
"Rock Candy Mine?" Chris questioned. "That seems interesting."
He was about to press the button, when Charlie Bucket suddenly stopped him.
"Unfortunately," Charlie Bucket said, looking down upon Chris, "the Rock Candy Mine recently had a cave-in shortly after me and Mr. Wonka did some work down there, and our Oompa-Loompas are working on clearing it as soon as possible. However, there is a very similar room over there."
He pointed to a button on the other side of the Elevator, and the boy squinted his eyes to look at it.
"DARK CHOCOLATE MINES," he read out loud. "Why not?"
Chris pressed the button, and immediately afterwards, the Great Glass Elevator shot to the right, as if had been stung by a wasp. The impact caused everyone to fall to the floor, and Mr. Wonka let out a childlike giggle.
"Get up, get up!" he giggled, and everyone wobbled to their feet, except for Mr. Wonka and Charlie, who stood up relatively quickly.
The Great Glass Elevator rounded another corner, and everyone bumped into each other. In particular, Chris and Jenna crashed straight into each other, causing Jenna's nose to be less than an inch from Chris'. In fact, Chris was so close that he noticed tiny freckles on her nose, as well as specks of grey and hazel among her blue irises.
"Hurry up, everyone!" Mr. Wonka cried. "We're passing through another room! Take a look...at our Licoricious Detonation Cords!"
Quickly, everyone adjusted themselves once more, and they noticed they were travelling straight into a grey tunnel with two divisions to it, similar to the maglev station. On each side, Oompa-Loompas with clear goggles and yellow hard hats were tying up test dummies to thick metal chairs with what looked like a kind of red rope. The Great Glass Elevator began to slow down, and the Oompa-Loompas covered their ears with two fingers.
Suddenly, a couple seconds later, large explosions surrounded them, and once the debris cleared, they noticed that the test dummy was no longer in the chair, and the cord had also vanished. The Great Glass Elevator began to speed up once again as soon as the Oompa-Loompas grabbed another dummy for testing, and they exited the tunnel.
After several seconds of continuing to travel on a straight path, the Great Glass Elevator abruptly stopped, then turned left. The sudden stop once again caused a couple people in the group to fall down. Mr. Wonka giggled at what was happening in front of him.
"My goodness," the chocolatier chuckled, attempting to hide a smile. "We certainly don't have any first-class balancers on this tour, now do we, Charlie?"
"Right, Mr. Wonka," Charlie responded with a slight smile as everyone stood up on their feet once again.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Mr. Wonka proclaimed, "welcome to the Toffee Apple Orchard!"
The group looked outside the Great Glass Elevator as it began slowing once again, and everyone was in awe- especially Mr. Sparkman. The ceiling of the room was painted scarlet in order to imitate an evening Fall season's sunset, and all around them were humongous green apples with brown fudge bark below them. Attached to the apples were thick fudge branches, and growing on the branches were countless green and red apples coated in brown, sticky toffee. Oompa-Loompa children and grown-ups alike were stepping on stepladders and stools of various sizes in order to reach the delicious treats. A select few were taking small bites of the main apple itself, and even within the Elevator, everyone could detect the distinct aroma of apple pie and cinnamon.
Chris and Jenna noticed something happening with Charlie Bucket. He appeared to be lost in thought as he looked around Toffee Apple Tree Orchard.
Charlie's mind began to flash as he smelled the apple pie aroma and smiled at the Oompa-Loompas having fun and running around.
He was having another memory about his beloved Grandpa Joe, taking place shortly after everyone had moved in. They were all inside the Toffee Apple Orchard room, and everyone was smiling and having fun. Grandpa Joe and the other grandparents, Grandma Josephine, Grandpa George, and Grandma Georgina, along with Mr. and Mrs. Bucket and Mr. Willy Wonka, were standing near a cluster of trees as Charlie, then a small boy, stood walking up a ladder and was grabbing as many toffee apples as he possibly could.
'Toffee Apple Pie?' Mrs. Bucket was chuckling. "Never had that before, but it wouldn't hurt to try it!"
'Toss me down an apple, Charlie!' Grandpa Joe smiled, holding out his arms. "This old boy still has life in him yet!"
'Are you sure about that, Grandpa?' Young Charlie asked.
'Of course I'm sure!' Grandpa Joe sputtered, smiling at the same time. "Don't just stand there arguing! Toss it down!"
Charlie did as he was told, and as Grandpa Joe promised, he made a perfect catch. The two of them smiled proudly at each other, and Grandpa Joe placed it in a nearby basket with some other toffee apples.
Grandma Georgina got curious, and she bent down and picked up one of the collected apples. She brought it up to her nose and began to sniff it, taking in the sweet smell of the coated toffee and the juice of the apples around her.
'I love toffee apples!' Grandma Georgina smiled as she continued to sniff the toffee apple even more. At this moment, the memory began to swirl and fade out, as a voice in the real world was calling out to him.
"Charlie!" Jenna's voice was calling out. "Are you okay?"
Shaking himself out of his dazed state, he smiled and answered, "I'm alright, Jenna."
The Great Glass Elevator was travelling through a maze of rails at this point, each one of them connecting and unconnecting to get the contraption where it needed to be. Charlie, Mr. Wonka, and the rest of the group noticed that they were approaching yet another hole, which meant they were about to travel through another room on their way to the Dark Chocolate Mines.
They went through the hole, and were immediately surrounded by what looked like an oil field. Derricks surrounded them, and Oompa-Loompas were wearing thick gloves as they stood by them. As they watched, one suddenly struck, as brown liquid flew about twenty feet into the air.
"A gusher!" cried Mr. Wonka, clapping his hands and letting out another one of his childlike laughs. "A whacking great gusher! How splendid! Just when we needed it!"
"A what?" Chris Davidson asked.
"We've struck chocolate again, my boy," Mr. Wonka responded, smiling at Chris excitedly. "That'll be a rich new field. Oh, what a beautiful gusher! Just look at it go!"
Everyone stared at the chocolate gusher field one last time as they noticed that they were approaching yet another hole, this one surrounded by the picture of a yellow honeycomb and a smiling bee.
"Ah, it seems that we're approaching the room where the factory produces all of its honey!" Charlie Bucket proclaimed. "Even now, we refuse to switch over to that disgusting fructose syrup trend. Our honey is all natural, and nothing less. Have a look, everyone!"
The group looked down below, and they saw a breathtaking scene. The floor of the Honeybees room was covered in bright-green grass, and the ceiling was sky blue dotted with white specks. Large trees nearly thirty feet tall were scattered everywhere. There were also lakes filled with fizzy lemonade, chocolate birds nesting on the branches, and other sights to behold, such as an enormous field filled with flowers in every color of the rainbow.
The main attraction though, were beehives hanging on most of the trees, and swarms of several hundred honeybees flying around, either near their respective hives, or by the flowers in the field. Oompa-Loompas in white beekeeper suits were walking around and swabbing various amounts of honey out of the hives. They then took the honey and put it into jars or inside a pipe which sucked the sweet substance out of the room and took it to goodness knows where.
"That's amazing!" Jenna exclaimed, turning to her friend. "I've never seen so many bees before!"
"Me neither!" Chris responded, looking down at the swarms and beauty surrounding them. "I'm glad we're here in this glass and not down there, right, Jenna?"
"Tell me about it," Jenna said, with a small chuckle in her voice.
The Great Glass Elevator slowly exited out of the Honeybees room, and next, they saw where the honey pipe actually led to. They were looking at a long conveyor belt, as well as a cauldron and square-shaped machine. As the honey exited out of the pipe, the pieces landed onto the conveyor belt, where they then went inside of the machine, and the group could smell the sweet scent of taffy.
"This is the Honey Taffy room!" Mr. Wonka announced. "This is where the honey that isn't all jarred up goes to. Two sticky substances in one, how about that?" he giggled.
"I really like all these different things you come up with, Wonka and Charlie," Mr. Sparkman said in awe. "I especially liked the jungle obstacle course, and that Japanese dance stage area. You two really put a lot of thought and care into your products, that's for sure. And this tour was a great way to...uh, show them off, that's right. I've really enjoyed it so far."
"That means a lot, Mr. Sparkman!" Charlie Bucket smiled at him. "And don't you worry, cause we'll be seeing a lot more magical products as time goes on!"
After Charlie spoke, the rooms surrounding them seemed to go down to none, leaving the entire Elevator in complete silence. That is, until Daniel Sparkman spoke up.
"What's the whole point of this tour, Mr. Wonka?" the boy asked.
"To show off my factory, of course!" the chocolatier smiled. "Why else, little boy?"
"Looking back at the previous tour forty years ago, this one is rather similar," Daniel remarked thoughtfully. "You send out a certain number of Golden Tickets, take a tour group around the factory, and children and their parents are eliminated one by one due to the idiots (Mindy aside) not following some super obvious rule that was repeated multiple times throughout their time in the room. You may have gotten rid of Mindy, but you won't be able to eliminate me."
"I assure you that the eliminations were completely coincidental," Charlie Bucket told Daniel, "and that the people who got eliminated previously are perfectly fine. You'll see them before the day is out if we have anything to say about it."
"If you say so, Mr. Wonka," Daniel scoffed. "But I must know, what's the special prize?"
"I guess that's a surprise, eh?" Mr. Wonka giggled, causing Daniel to frown. "I'm surprised that even after all you know about the first tour, you can't guess what it is. The answer is in plain sight, and you only need to ask one person in this Elevator."
Daniel looked around at the group, and his gaze stopped on his father, who looked uncomfortable at the conversation going on. Rather than prod further, he chose to stay silent, causing Mr. Sparkman to breathe a sigh of relief. Continuing to look around, his gaze then stopped on Wonka's heir, the famous Charlie Bucket himself. Charlie looked back at him with a smile in the corners of his mouth, and his eyes shone with every bright and colorful thing in the world imaginable.
"I actually do have a question," Daniel remarked. "How'd you get involved with that kook Mr. Wonka?"
"Couldn't you have looked it up on that fancy computer of yours?" Charlie Bucket replied, and Daniel sighed, seemingly annoyed by the heir's question.
"At the time, such information wasn't important to me, " he said. "All I wanted and all I needed was to know how to find a Golden Ticket."
"Didn't Augustus, Violet, and Veruca tell you?" Charlie asked.
"All they did was answer my questions," Daniel said, "then they gave me some stupid warning about behavior and told me that the factory 'changed them for the better.' They're just a bunch of wimps. And their warning means nothing because soon, all the dumber idiots standing in front of me will slowly get eliminated and I'll be the last one standing. I'm the smartest person on this tour. You and Mr. Wonka may be clever, but I'll show you a thing or two about being smart."
A few seconds later, the Great Glass Elevator came to a halt, then began a straight downwards drop, going faster and faster and faster still.
"We're now heading downwards to the Dark Chocolate Mines, everyone!" Mr. Wonka announced to the group.
Everyone could hear wind whooshing outside of the Elevator as it only continued to increase in speed as time went on. There was still no sight of any other rooms, and all the group saw was a void of pitch black.
"Further, further, and further down," everyone heard Charlie Bucket saying over the sound of the wind outside. "In fact, the Dark Chocolate Mines are even deeper than the Rock Candy Mine. Seventy thousand feet deep, to be exact. Meanwhile, Minusland is nearly one hundred and fifty thousand feet, if not more, deep below the surface. How's that for an exploration trek?"
The Great Glass Elevator continued travelling downwards for several minutes, until it finally stopped with the screeching of brakes. A dinging sound was heard, and the Elevator's glass doors opened, followed by the group stepping out of it, starting with Mr. Wonka and Charlie Bucket.
As the group began walking around, they realized that they were surrounded by dark brown walls. The corridor was medium-sized and gave off the strong smell of dark chocolate.
"Mr. Wonka," Chris asked, "is this cave really made out of dark chocolate?"
"Precisely!" Mr. Wonka answered. "This group of mines is where we get all of our dark chocolate from!"
"That doesn't make any sense," Daniel remarked. "Chocolate has to be made. It doesn't just appear out of nowhere."
"I'm sorry Daniel, but you should really start mumbling less," Mr. Wonka said with a hint of a smile. "You're really bumming me out."
The group reached the end of the corridor, and they noticed that they were standing in front of a thick metallic door.
"Before we begin the tour," Charlie said, "we have a couple things to say. No wandering off from the group, no touching unless we say so, and Tyler, no pranks, or the consequences could be deadly."
"Like what?" Tyler Smith snarked.
"Unless you wanna accidentally fall down a couple hundred feet to your death or sustain severe injuries and hospitalization, both of which would mean no pranks at all, then be my guest," Charlie Bucket said.
The prankster boy and his mother said nothing, and they had concerned looks in their eyes for the first time on the tour. The two chocolatiers then proceeded to hand out thick headlight helmets with velcro straps to each member of the group.
"Put these on, then follow us to begin our trek, everyone," Mr. Wonka remarked, opening the metallic door as a blast of cool air surrounded them.
"Whew, it's cold!" Chris said, gripping himself in his arms and his teeth began to chatter.
"Don't worry, Chris," Jenna smiled at her friend. "You can hold onto me if you'd like, if that will help you warm up."
"Thanks, Jenna," Chris smiled as he wrapped his hand around her arm and the two continued walking together. Jenna did the same, wrapping her arm around Chris' and holding his hand in return.
"This section of the mine that we're in is rarely visited, so special animals are more common," Charlie Bucket lectured. "Dark chocolate bats, for instance, or gummy crayfish are some creatures that you may find as we walk around."
"Fascinating," Mr. Davidson observed. "Did you and Mr. Wonka make them?"
"Actually, no," Charlie responded. "They were there when we first discovered these mines. They went elsewhere when we began digging to make room for tours, but since this area is hardly used, they all moved back sooner or later."
As the group looked around the Dark Chocolate Mines, they saw an astonishing sight. Although very dim, the remaining Golden Ticket winners could still see their environment around them. The walls and ceilings were at least thirty feet tall, and multiple stalagmites and stalactites were on the ceiling and floor of the area, respectively. Drops of liquid dark chocolate were occasionally dripping down from the ceiling.
They continued walking around as the two chocolatiers guided them around their surroundings, and Mr. Adams decided to turn on the headlight located on his helmet. Shining the light around the mine, he suddenly heard a screeching sound as three dark chocolate bats flew above his head. Thinking quickly, he ducked his head and turned his light off.
"Whew," Mr. Adams panted, wiping his brow. "That was close!"
"I told you that bats were aplenty," Charlie Bucket smiled at Mr. Adams. "Onwards!"
Minutes later, Mr. Wonka and Charlie Bucket led the group to an area that resembled a smaller Chocolate Room except made entirely out of chocolate and no other candies, as well as walls that were nearly twenty feet tall. Near the ceiling of the room, a hole was seen, and clear yellow lemonade was cascading out of it, forming a waterfall with a small pool at the bottom.
"In this area," Mr. Wonka explained, "you can find some gummy crayfish in the pool below the waterfall. Come and look closely, will ya?"
Everyone followed Mr. Wonka and Charlie closer to the waterfall pool and stopped near a brown fudge fence that was designed to resemble a bunch of logs. They looked down into the lemonade, and at first saw nothing. That was, until Mr. Wonka said, "Try turning on your headlamps, everyone."
They did as they were told and turned their heads to look around in the lemonade. Suddenly, Jenna began to point.
"Look!" she said. "Look, over there!"
Everyone looked over at where Jenna was pointing, and they noticed a strange creature. It resembled a crayfish, but it was white all over.
"That's a blind gummy crayfish, my dear children!" Mr. Wonka smiled. "They live in the darkness of these here mines, and use their sense of smell, as well as sound and other sensors within them, to find their way around. They're also not too fond of light, so take one last look at them, will ya, and we'll be on our way!"
Taking one last look at the gummy crayfish, the group followed Mr. Wonka and Charlie to their next destination on the mine tour. After walking away from the lemonade waterfall, the duo guided everyone towards a medium-sized corridor with more stalactites on the ceiling. At the end of it was a winding staircase that went up as far as the eye could see. To the right of the staircase, there was a handrail to grip onto for safety.
"We'll be headed a long way up in a couple seconds," Charlie Bucket explained, "towards the more active parts of these mines. Be warned: these stairs are really slippery, so hold on tight to the provided handrail, everyone."
Doing as they were told, everyone gripped onto the handrail and watched their step as they climbed up the staircase. As they continued climbing, they kept looking constantly downwards to see how high in the air they were.
Finally, after several minutes of walking up stairs, everyone, especially the parents, were exhausted when they reached the top. Panting, they looked up at their new surroundings, and were face to face with yet another corridor that was short and thin with a metallic door at the end of it.
"I see that all of you are rather…tired," Mr. Wonka remarked. "But that means that you'll certainly like this next area, everyone! All but one of you, that is." He looked at Tyler Smith and Kitsune with a faint smile on the edges of his mouth.
The group walked down the corridor, with Mr. Wonka and Charlie leading in front, and the two chocolatiers opened the door at the end of it. They were face to face with two platforms on each side of the room, like in the maglev trip. In the middle, there was nothing except a bunch of black roller coaster tracks leading into a hole in the wall. Seconds after they entered, a row of coaster carts styled after minecarts circled back to the beginning of the coaster and stopped, ready for the remaining Ticket winners to enter in.
"Oh no no no no, I'm not going on that thing!" Tyler Smith protested, his face turning as white as a sheet. "Nope, I'm not doing that after those crazy maglev and carriage rides! The third time is not the charm here!"
Everyone was staring at Tyler Smith once he began to get scared. His legs were shaking, and he became unsteady.
"There is no way you can get me on that thing!" Tyler Smith continued. "I repeat, there is absolutely nothing that you can do and or say to get me on that roller coaster as long as I live!"
"What would you do if I said that there were…pranks waiting for you at the end of this roller coaster, little boy?" Mr. Wonka bribed the prankster.
"Uh, is there any way to get to those pranks without going on that roller coaster?" Tyler asked hopefully.
"Unfortunately for you, my dear boy, the answer is no," Mr. Wonka responded, hiding another smile. "The only way to get ta those pranks would be to go on the roller coaster."
"Oh,come on!" Tyler exclaimed. "Are you kidding me? Ugh, fine, but I'm not gonna enjoy it, just so you know."
"Good!" Mr. Wonka chirped happily, then he paused for a split second. "...for going on the roller coaster after all!"
Mr. Wonka and Charlie then guided the tour group towards a metallic rack near the coaster. They placed their headlamps on it, and the rest of the group proceeded to do the same. Next, the two chocolatiers guided the group to the coaster cars, where they sat up in front.
"I'll sit behind Mr. Wonka and Charlie," Chris told Jenna. "It's much better than having to be near Tyler and Kitsune, that's for sure."
"I'm with you," Jenna responded as she took her seat next to Chris.
Daniel sighed, and his eyes appeared to sink. He took the seat behind Chris and Jenna, and patted the seat next to him, staring at it for several seconds before Mr. Sparkman took his seat next to his son.
The rest of the group proceeded to take their seats on the roller coaster, and it ended with Tyler and Kitsune taking the seats at the very last car. Everyone buckled up, and an Oompa-Loompa ride attendant went by each car, checking to see that each seatbelt was safe and snug. After giving the thumbs up signal, the operator Oompa-Loompa flipped a switch, and the cars began to move.
"Another roller coaster!" said Jenna Adams excitedly. "A tank, a replica of Japan, a maglev, a dirt bike show, and now this! This is the best day ever!"
"I'll say it is," Chris agreed with a smile. "Mr. Wonka's factory is amazing!"
"Why thank you, Chris," Mr. Wonka overheard the duo, turning his head to look at them for a brief second. "We hope you'll enjoy the ride!"
Mr. Wonka turned his head back round, and the roller coaster cars went into a pitch-black tunnel. It then began to increase in speed, going faster and faster and faster still. Tyler was the first one to scream, followed by Mr. Sparkman, then the rest of the group. Chris and Jenna's screams were screams of excitement, while the rest of the group was absolutely terrified.
"How can we see where we're going?" Mr. Davidson shouted over the roar of the coaster car.
"There's no knowing where we're going," Mr. Wonka replied. "Switch on the lights!"
As soon as Mr. Wonka said this, old fashioned lightbulbs situated in the tunnel flickered to life as soon as the coaster zoomed out of the tunnel and went straight to doing a corkscrew. Craning their heads back ever so slightly, they saw Tyler and Kitsune pass out in their car and lean against each other.
Seconds later, the carts tilted to the right, then the left. They were going faster and faster, and they could see that they were approaching a large hill. The coaster then began click-clacking up it, slowly but surely.
"This is the best roller coaster ever!" Jenna Adams shouted. "It's wicked!"
"It sure is!" Chris agreed. "Look- here comes the drop! Five, four-"
Jenna began to join in the countdown with him.
"Three, two, ONE, ZERO!"
As soon as their countdown hit zero, the coaster was thrust down the hill. Ever increasing in speed, Chris, Jenna, Charlie, and especially Mr. Wonka himself, screamed and laughed in excitement. They looked behind them to see everyone else finally enjoying the ride aside from Tyler and Kitsune, who were still passed out. The screaming revived them briefly, only for them to scream loudly in fear and pass out again.
The ride down the hill increased their speed even more, and the carts smooshed to the left, then the right. Roaring was heard, and they saw an animatronic, chocolate-colored bear move its paws up and down as the coaster zoomed to the left, moving far away from it. They went through a loop-de-loop, zoomed to the left and went on the loop-de-loop itself before going to the right and through another pitch-black tunnel.
After the tunnel, the cars came to a sudden, screeching stop at a second unloading station as the coaster came to an end.
Author's Note: What'd you all think? Was it worth the wait? Feel free to leave comments and suggestions in the review section.
The Dark Chocolate Mines were inspired by a reviewer on, I believe it was either Where All the Bad Nuts Go or Next in Line, that suggested a dark chocolate mine. The cave tour itself was inspired by real-life cave tours that I went on last year, and the roller coaster was inspired by the one in Next in Line, where it was in the Rock Candy Mine instead.
As you might have noticed, several rooms were referenced in the Great Glass Elevator. The Coconut Ice Skating Rink, Mint Jujubes, Magic Hand Fudge, Invisible Chocolate Bars, Toffee Apple Tree Orchard, and Rock Candy Mine were all from the book. The Rock Candy Mine last appeared in Chapter 2 of this story. The Marshmallow Forest was in Where All the Bad Nuts Go, and Chocolate Records and Turntables are in its sequel, Bad Nuts: the Anniversary. The Loompaland Zoo first appeared in What Could Have Been, and has appeared in several fandom stories since.
Additionally, the chocolate gusher room appeared in Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, and the Honeybees Room, Honey Taffy Room, and Licoricious Detonation Cords first appeared in Where All the Bad Nuts Go, and haven't been seen since- until now. As usual, credit goes to mattTheWriter072, and thanks goes to him for letting me pick rooms from WATBNG and letting me use them here. I'm really looking forward to writing the next chapter, and I hope you guys and gals are as well. :)
Until then,
Gabe S. :)
