A Prank Gone Wrong, A Sister's Love By MC-Laboratories
May and Max Maple were your typical Brother/Sister duo, with May being the eldest and Max being the smartest.
As Siblings are, they would often fight, over small things, whether it be over the fact that Max was too young to have a pokemon of his own, or the fact that May focused too much on how cute her pokemon are and not properly training her pokemon.
Soon, things escalated to the siblings pulling pranks on one another, whether it be whoopie cushioms or having honey dunked on your head, atracting angry Beedrill, nothing was off limits with May and Max.
But one fateful day, May took it too far...and it almost cost Max his life...
One day, May was fuming, she had just survived her brothers latest prank, for some reason, he had managed to put red dye in her shampoo, dying her hair red in the process.
"He..is..so...DEAD!" Roared May as she made her way to the garage, she eyed Max's Motor scooter, she grabbed some tools and began to tinker with it, May had next to no experience in mechanics, but she was too angry at Max to care..
Later that afternoon...
"Mom, i'm heading out, i'll be back soon!" said Max as he was leaving the house, May was painting her nails with a sly smile.
"Be safe, little brother..." was all May said.
Max rolled his eyes and left the house, May couldn't wait to see the look on his face!
Several hours later...
"Somthing wasn't right, Max should have back by now" thought May as she was getting a glass of juice.
No sooner did she say that, the door opened to reveal May and Max's father, Norman.
"Dad, what's wrong?" asked May, her father looked as if he was crying.
"Honey, somthing happened to your brother, on his way home...his scooter exploded with him on it, he's at the hospital now...can you go get your mother?" he asked.
May nodded and went upstairs, "it wasn't supposed to go like that, it wasn't supposed to...explode!" she thought.
At the Hospital...
May, her mother, and her father were at Max's bedside, Max was still, barely making a sound.
"Your son is in a very deep coma, his skull had not matured enough to fully protect him, if he wakes up, we'll be sure to let you know..." the doctor said.
"IF?" cried May and Max's Mother.
"No, he said "when" sweetie, right doctor?" assured Norman.
"Mr. Maple, your son is in a deep coma from which he may never emerge, we'll just have to wait and see." the doctor explained.
May's heart sank to the bottom of her stomach.
"it was a good thing he was wearing his helmet, or it would have been a lot worse." the doctor said.
As the family left, Mrs. Maple kissed her son on the cheek.
A couple days later...
Ash, Misty, Brock, Dawn, Clemot and Bonnie all gathered at May's place to offer their support.
As Ash and Brock shared their fondest memories of Max, May grabbed Dawn and led her to her room, afterwhich she locked the door.
"May, is somthing wrong?" Dawn asked.
"i wanna tell you somthing, but before i do, you must promise not to tell ANYONE, Not Ash, Not Bonnie, not even my parents, understood?" asked May.
Dawn nodded...
2 minutes later...
"YOU DID WHAT?!" yelped Dawn.
"Shhhhh!" Hushed May.
"Why? i know Max can be a brat at times, but didn't deserve to blown halfway to hell!" explained Dawn.
"It wasn't supposed to explode! it was just supposed to fall apart!" May argued.
"How is that better? Max still would have gotten hurt!" said Dawn.
"You don't think i didn't feel anything when i heard the news?" said May, "Max may as well be dead, and it's my fault!"
Dawn noticed tear falling down her face, May really felt bad about this.
"I won't tell anyone, but if Max somhow survives this, you and him need to settles your issues, before you do somthing you can't fix!" explained Dawn.
With that, Dawn leaves the room leaving May with her thoughts.
Later that night, at the Hospital.
May and Blazeken, snuck inside to visit Max that night, he was still motionless.
"Hey little bro, i'm here again, i guess i kinda owe you an apology, you may get on my nerves, and you may act like a know-it-all, but never once did you say that you hated me, never once did you try to hurt me, or worse." said May, "in all the times we pranked one another, neither one of us crossed that line, who would have thought i would cross that line."
"But...you can't die on us now Max, think of all the things you've wanted to do once you're older, Mon needs you, Dad needs you..." May's eyes blur as tears flow from her eyes, "I need you..."
As May looks out the window, she prays, "Arceus, i beg you, don't take Max away from us, i'm the jerk who blew him up, take me instead, he still has his whole life ahead of him, please, if he dies, i'll never be able to look at myself ever again!"
with a heavy sigh, she and Blazeken leave the hospital...
The Next Morning...
May and her parents made their way to Max's room, to find a stunning suprise, Max was alive and well!
"it's a medical miracle! we were 5 minutes away from pulling the plug!" explained the nurse.
"Hey Mom," greeted Max, he had just finished lunch.
"Can we take him home?" asked Mrs. Maple.
"Of course!" said the doctor, as they had finished with his checkup.
May looked up to the sky and whispered "Thank you..."
After 3 days, and a well deserved welcome home party, things changed for May and Max.
The thing was, Max already knew that May had tampered with his scooter, but the vehicle exploded before he could get off in time, but he forgave May, but both siblings realized that the relationship they had was not healthy, so they both agreed, no more pranks.
Also, May and Max decided to see a theripist about their issues, as time passed, Max had become more supportive of his sister's hobbies.
And May had become less selfish and decided to head her little brother's advice from time to time.
they both still had their fights, but their therapy made their fights less intense.
May and Max have developed a newfound respect for one another, and all it took was a prank gone wrong and a sister's love.
THE END!
