A droning hum rang in the angel's ears. When he was finally able to feel his body once more the first thing he noticed was how cold and hard the ground was, but there was still a suffocating heat in the air. It was all slowly coming back to him there, the events that took place. His brain was still scrambling, and he felt light-headed but once reality dawned on him his eyes shot open. His pupils were like pinpoints as he frantically looked around the mountain top and his own body. He didn't seem any different, nor did he feel any different. Confusion was present on his expression as his eyes searched the area for some explanation.

When he did in fact find something out of the ordinary it wasn't any shape he recognized. Draped behind a cloud, Lucifer could see a large lump laying on the ground. It was sitting in a blistering crater in the ground that seemed to be the source of the heat.

Immediately he felt his heart clutch as he came to his feet and approached it. The horrific possibilities piled up in his mind. The thought of Amon, Urga and the dragon all being caught in the storm and drastically harmed in some way haunted him. The closer he came the more he noticed odd features about what this was. At first, he believed it to be the remaining of his group all toppled on top of one another, but now that didn't seem right at all. His eyes narrowed and his head tilted slightly as he began to slow before it.

"Amon?" he questioned. As soon as he did, he saw a long thin appendage whip out from under it. Lucifer ducked and instantly became on guard. Whatever had just crossed him haphazardly swung back around the mound of a being, it seemed unintentional. The idea of what that was passed through Lucifer's thoughts but just as it did, he shut it out. It couldn't be, whatever it was, it was fuzzy and long, it couldn't possibly belong to that werewolf nor that dragon, and yet it looked just like a tail.

Lucifer felt his guts twist as the hulking shadow began to move. It had a low beastly groan and as it unraveled itself it seemed much larger than Amon and the collective group could possibly be. All the angel could do was stand and stare wide-eyed in horror as the behemoth began to stand up. It seemed discombobulated and stumbled to even stand up on four limbs. When it's head finally perked and Lucifer could see this creature's silhouette, he felt his veins run stone cold seeing its profile matched that of The Devil in the Moon.

Lucifer started to stumble back keeping his sword at the ready. It was then this thing turned to face him it's eyes glowed yellow though it's misty cover.

"Amon! Amon, where are you!" the angel begged to an empty terrain. The large creature appeared confused as it too started to look over its own shoulder and wobbly come to stand on its own two feet. Lucifer didn't feel comfortable with how much this thing was lumbering around. With extra caution he at last called out to the creature itself.

"Who are you? Where did you come from?!" Lucifer shouted.

A substantial pause came between the two as the beast looked on in confusion and soon the warrior began to feel the same. The being started to walk forward steadily. It was like watching a baby take its first steps but soon it appeared to have control of itself. Finally it moved away from the clouds and out into the open. what the angel observed took his breath.

A bulky devil, in the shape of a man, with skin crimson red, and fur black as the night itself stepped before him. It had wicked talons for feet and fur coating it's lower body, shoulders, and head. It's long thin tail followed after him and flicked uneasily. Finally atop it's head it had two small wings that identified him as the Devil in the Moon, but more than that they expressed great wonder, as they perked.

"Are you speaking to me?" the sound of its voice could have nearly vibrated the ground beneath them. Lucifer was in total shock and his mouth gaped open as he stood stiff.

"W-who are you!? Where did you come from, and what did you do with my comrade!" Lucifer finally found his voice again.

The devil reared back slightly and glanced over the surrounding environment, seeming a tad befuddled. The archangel was getting tired of all this uncertainty he gulped in a breath and started again much louder.

"Answer me!" he demanded.

The demon seemed all the more perturbed as his brow knit and his shoulders shrugged unceremoniously.

"Um, I'm not sure, I just got here. You'll have to forgive me, my mind's still a bit fuzzy. I got all these new memories now and their fogging up my perception, I still need to sort through all of them. Honestly, they probably won't even matter. There's so much to see for myself!" the red being spoke with an unexpected childish joy. His tail began to wag as he looked around with an ornery brightness to him. He started to investigate his surroundings, looking over everything, sniffing the air, and the wings on his head acting as ears flicking around his head.

Lucifer became that much more concerned. Not in a threatening way but in a morally devastating way, as what had happened began to make sense.

"W-wait, wait, memories, what memories, they're yours right!? Or are you telling you just popped into existence right now? You didn't exist anywhere before just now!?" Lucifer asked accusingly.

The demon looked back at him in a bit of a peeved manner, "Geez, you're a pushy one, aren't you? What's got your feathers so ruffled?"

Lucifer came closer to the demon with a ferocity in his eye and his sword in his hand, "Who are you!?"

The demon glanced down at the blade and then back to the angel with a less than impressed expression. Finally he sighed and allowed his body to flop down to the warrior's level. The devil laid on his belly in a semi-animalistic position while bringing his hand up to cradle his cheek lazily.

"It's funny how soon we forget, but at least I had an excuse," he spoke coyly.

"Start making sense, devil!" Lucifer repositioned his sword with a disgusted glare.

The demon's stare only tapered that much more, "Oh, pardon me, if I recall correctly less than some minutes ago you were offering me world domination, mass genocide, and some kind of divine slavery gig, something like that, I don't know. Gotta be honest, I stopped listening there after a bit. I've heard all that so many times before. Well, all except the divine purity stuff, that was new," the devil responded as he stretched out his form casually.

"Oh, sweet father…You're the devil in the moon…" he trailed off with a devastated expression.

The demon's finger flew up seeming a tad repulsed, "Ah, correction, was the devil in the moon, not anymore!" He started to lift himself up again allowing his tail to wag and his mood to liven. "I'm finally free! I've spent so much time staring down at this place wondering what it would be like to actually be here and look at that here I am!" he proclaimed with open arms stretching to the heavens.

The angel had become completely still, his eyes bugging out of his head as a face stricken with a deathly fright consumed him. His pupils fidgeted as his breath came in quick gasps. When he finally came too, he stared back up at the red devil with a panicky appearance.

"Oh, no it's just as I suspected, what am I to do!" he clutched his hair in his fist. "You merged with the wrong person!" he fumed, flailing his arms at him.

The Devil's head tilted to the side as his brow quirked, "The wrong person? What are you talking about?"

"You were supposed to merge with me! You took the demon knight and the rest of his troop instead!"

The beastly being's body slumped mildly, "Oh, I never intended to merge with you."

The angel was stunned as his head wings stood right up, "What? What do you mean I was the one who awoke you!"

Taking on a heavy breath the demon soon expelled it in a less than subtle matter. He seemed as if he was trying to do everything in his power not to make eye contact with his interrogator but responded anyway.

"Look, you're making this harder than it needs to. You simply just weren't what I was looking for," the devil shrugged and nonchalantly brought his foot up to scratch at his chin. "See all that stuff you were going on about, everybody who's ever tried to summon me has basically said the same thing so many times before. Well, all except yours came off a little condescending there towards the end actually, you might want to work on that," the brutish being gave a glance of pity. Lucifer could only reply with a baffled, repulsed expression that only got worse the longer he stood there.

"Wait-wait so this was intentional?" he spoke attempting to catch his bearings.

"Well, not at first," the demon rolled his eyes, as if he were answering an obvious question. "But I happened to notice this little being coming up along after you. He didn't even seem interested in me at all, but he was coming up and fairing the storm despite how loudly it howled or how harshly it pushed. He fought against all these other demons perilously, and seemingly not even for his own gain. A dragon and werewolf could be mighty allies but, in their state, they were nothing but dead weight. And yet he stayed with them and lent whatever was left of his strength to them. It was truly a sight to behold, I've never seen anything like that!" The demon boasted with a voice ringing with glory.

"The whole time I could only ask myself why," he continued. "What great mysterious strength must this being hold that drives him to do these seemingly wasteful tasks, I wondered. I had to know, and for the first time in my existence I felt sure about who I would choose. And just like that it was set, the next thing I knew I fell from the moon and then I woke up here!" the demon threw up his arms. "Being fused with that warrior I expected but the dragon and werewolf were a bit of a surprise, but a nice one I'd say," the devil admired himself.

Every aspect of Lucifer looked as though he was one step away from losing it all then and there. Many things still weren't adding up to him but more than anything he was becoming maddened.

"So Amon was chosen?" Lucifer murmured to himself. "So where is he then? He's supposed to gain the power of the devil in the moon, not be overcome by it!" he barked.

The great demon's head wings boosted up on his head as insight dawned on him, "Oh, right that. That always seemed to have been a common misconception amongst the other demons. They thought if they became strong enough, they would get my power and become stronger. It was actually the opposite. I wanted what I deemed to be the strongest beings so that I could claim their power. I mean really it should be obvious, why would I willingly give up my consciousness and abilities to someone else and gain nothing," he chortled.

Lucifer's mouth hung open; he couldn't hardly even bring himself to be outraged anymore. He felt horribly cheated and yet the devil had a point, he didn't even consider what he was getting himself into and now all the consequences were hitting him at once. He felt his knees begin to buckle from the weight that was drowning in his chest.

"So he's gone…" the angel whispered.

The demon heard the shaking in his voice and seemed to act aware of his change in attitude.

"Hmm, well not entirely I suppose. He's still in here, somewhere I'm sure, at least his best qualities, whatever those are I still have to figure out," he attempted to sound upbeat. His trying didn't seem to be too helpful. The angel started to crumple in on himself. The loud clatter of metal filled the area as the divine sword hit the ground and Lucifer fell to his knees.

The demon felt an odd sense come over him seeing his summoner's reaction. He didn't want to make eye contact and his tail swished around nervously. The whole thing felt uncomfortable, and the demon only wanted to break himself away from it. With a fulfilling breath the devil turned away and instead his stare fell to the incredible view below the mountain. It seemed the lush, green jungles and the crystal blue of the waters stretched as far as his eyes could see. It was remarkable the plant was currently in a beautiful mid-Spring bloom, and it seemed to have no end. The sounds of the world below echoed up to his ears, teasing him at what was to come below. The smell of the earth filled his nose and awakened a sense of wonder and life within him that he had craved for so long. Just the feeling of the somber breeze alone combing its way through his fur was enough to send his old soul soaring.

He smiled wide; it was all there before him ripe for the taking. Soon it would all be his and all he had to do was take his first real steps towards it. However, just as he felt the inkling to do so something else caught his ears.

"Oh father forgive me, Amon, Amon forgive me…" Lucifer whimpered to himself.

There was something about hearing that name that lifted the devil's winged ears. He didn't know why but he felt attached to it in some way. To make things more blatant there wasn't anyone else around he could be speaking to.

"Amon?" the demon mumbled quietly. Lucifer didn't seem to hear him as he continued to wallow in his own misery.

"Amon," he said again, only now much louder, and more assured. He smiled and tipped his head, "That's it, that'll be my name!"

"Your name!?" Lucifer shot up again with a venomous tone. Amon was a tad startled to hear him pipe up again, but it didn't last long. "How dare you! I lost one of my closest men and then you have the gall to go running around tarnishing his good name!"

The bulking devil sneered, "Well in my defense, it wasn't me he was hauling ass up the mountain for in the first place, now was it?"

Lucifer could have shaken with the rage buried within him. The demon was irritating but was nothing compared to the hatred Lucifer directed towards himself. He had been rash and foolish in his decisions and now he couldn't even argue against them.

"So what are you going to do now? You're awake, but I'm convinced you don't have a plan of action yet. Surely you intend to rule these other devils and dominate them, perhaps we could become allies. If I help you in your conquests, will you aid me in exterminating these devils," Lucifer proposed, in a flush of desperation.

Amon seemed shocked at what he was hearing as he shook his head and crossed his arms, "Whoa, whoa, what makes you think I planned to do any of that?"

The angel was well past annoyed, yet went along with him anyway, "Well, what other purpose do you claim. You're the most powerful demon aren't you!?"

The devil shrugged, "I guess, I don't know. Honestly, I've merely observed this place my whole existence but now, I'm here and there's so much I want to try and see!"

Lucifer's face didn't even change anymore, it seemingly fixed permanently into that dumbfounded expression.

He lightly shook his head, "Try and see like what!?"

Amon appeared ponderous for a moment, "Well lots of stuff, kinda like, well kinda like eating! That seems fun!" he gushed. "Or, or sleeping, like it has to be good, why else would everyone do it for so long!"

"I can't believe what I'm hearing," Lucifer interrupted. "Such a grand and powerful demon shouldn't be wasting his time on trivial matters. I blame myself for the loss of Amon and the rest and I can't let this error go fruitless. See here, partner with me, and we'll make meaning of your birth here tonight."

Amon instantly seemed to become uneasy as he shifted about where he stood. His eyes seemed to be caught shifting back and forth between the angel and the rest of the Earth.

"Well!?" Lucifer asked again impatiently.

"Uh, look I'd really rather not…" the demon sighed. He did all he could to avoid that frigid stare he could feel coming from the archangel.

Lucifer flew up to force the demon's eye contact, "I feel the need to bring to your attention that your plans of lazing about and goofing off will be threatened if you do not aid me. The true God of this world intends to destroy it if these demons are not purged promptly. If it so concerns you, if you are to join me after our battle you will get your time of leisure I can assure you," Lucifer finished.

Amon's head wings fell back as a genuine look of disappointment came over his face. He soon disposed of it though. He scrunched up his face and shook his head, backing away from the vexing ethereal.

"Look, look I don't know, I don't know what I want. All I know is I don't want this right now, so how about you just get off my back. I'll think about it okay?" he said in a tired pleading voice. Lucifer seemed as if he was going to open his mouth again but was stopped by a sudden shimmer of light. Amon noticed it too, high in the heavens a light, like the gleam of a star shown, and thus twisted the angel's face into one of dread. He didn't even have to look at it to know it was there. He swallowed hard and breathed in with a haze of abrupt hopelessness.

"Very well, see here you best make your decision soon. I must report back to my father and brothers now. I'm most certain it has to do with my recent actions. I pray father be not too disheartened with my lack of success," he quivered.

Amon watched him with a dull look to his face, pleading for an excuse for dismissal.

"Alright," he said with a lackluster tone.

"I very likely could take me some time to return, by then you should have an answer, and let's hope for your sake it's the right one," the holy being glared back at him as he lastly took off back to whence he came. Amon could see him become smaller the further he went and once he was well out of sight, the demon could at last feel his heart race and his spirit ascend.

He roared with vigor as he hurried to the cliffside and took one last look, taking each and every aspect in before finally inhaling a strong breath and lurching down off the side. On all fours he dashed down the mountain slope feeling the gravity of the planet pull at him. His jaws cracked open with an undeniable smile feeling the blood course through his body and the gales in his fur.

At one point he had gotten a bit too ahead of himself as his speed continued to escalate faster than he could register. Before he knew it his hands and feet tripped out from under him, sending him rolling down. Amon's smile turned to clenched teeth and a concerned look in his eyes right before he went completely under. His brain tossed and his vision blurred as he could no longer keep up with how fast he was going. The terminal force was something he wasn't used to, he felt helpless in its seemingly inescapable grasp.

The next thing Amon knew was that he had been flung into the air. Finally free from his tumbling his mind and eyes could hold still long enough to see the slope he was on had created a bit of a natural ramp resulting in his spiral into the free air. The inside of his skull still felt like soup as he was now falling out in the open. Admittedly he could feel the spike of fret coil up in his chest, but he soon numbed it, searching for a means to catch himself.

Flailing in the air Amon struggled to find a means out of his own mess and the ground was coming closer and closer. It seemed he was doomed, he crumpled up his features and anticipated a rough landing as he braced himself and continued to fight for a means of survival. Just then however, something about his body changed. He felt something new protruding from his back and on impulse he put these sudden limbs to use. Flowing open like a parachute he opened his wings, catching the wind under them and, while sloppily, he directed himself safely to the level earth. The landing wasn't at all pretty; he stumbled and rolled up like a ball through vines and tree limbs but once he was down, he slowly opened his eyes. The wings on his head sprung up alertly as he looked around.

The jungles were even more magnificent the closer up. Huge leaves and trees so tall he couldn't even see the tops enveloped him. He could see now from the ground level the top of the mountain that had been his birthplace and the empty moon that had imprisoned him for so long. He smirked once more and allowed a bounding cheer to expel his throat and his feet to hop up in elation. His self-made celebration finally ended when he tripped himself over, being negligent of a nearby root, but he was fine. He picked himself back up without ever losing his smile.

Off in the distance Amon could begin to hear a low grumble that steadily grew to a roar. His form had perked as he stood at full attention on his hind legs. His curiosity was now escalating, he scampered up the abundant roots to obtain a better visual. From his stoop he could see what had caused the disturbance and it was only getting more hectic. A large thundering herd of Maiasaura was coming clambering over the horizon. Looking on just a bit further behind them was the figure of a huge kingly beast. A tyrannosaurus rex had riled the group up and was now in pursuit. A smirk came to Amon now as he took in the whole view of the situation.

The demonic beast felt the instincts within his body drive him to hunch down and stalk his way along the tree line remaining vigilant. He could feel his hunger coax him into action. The herbivores looked succulent and vulnerable; his mouth began to water thinking of the test of flesh. However, he couldn't help but feel his interest wander. The T-rex, such a strong and imposing creature, out on a hunt of its own. Something about it was captivating, something about it was tempting. He looked at the dominating animal and could only see a challenge.

Eventually his figure began to set out, skulking through the underbrush. The T-rex didn't even register the demon, thinking itself to be too grand to worry of such dangers, perfect for Amon. He was now nearly on top of the dinosaur and right when it's back was turned, he spotted his opportunity.

Leaping off the ground, Amon sunk his claws into the carnivore's back. It shrieked in surprise and anguish. Amon indulged in it's fighting spirit as it looked back to see him with a vengeful look in it's eye and glimmer on its fangs. It snapped at him trying to reach the demon and fling him off. Amon had to admit, holding onto the spinning creature while narrowly avoiding it's jaw was a bit more difficult than he had first thought. In only a manner of a few minutes the great devil could no longer hold on anymore, he was flown off the T-rex's back as the animal itself had to catch its own footing.

Amon shook his head and put on his intimidating face once more. His element of ambush was gone now, he'd have to take the dinosaur on face to face now, and truthfully deep-down Amon kinda liked that idea.

The demon stood tall as the opponents circled one another sizing each other up. The T-rex bared its teeth, swung its tail, and released a bone chilling hiss. Amon smirked as he presented his own fangs, his wings thrusted open as a roar erupted from his throat. That was the signal for the battle to begin as the two mighty forces collided. Amon wasn't aware of his own strength, or his own skills and he figured now would be a good time to test them out. The T-rex bit down, missing the demon by an inch. In one quick move Amon dodged the attack and pulled his leg around to kick the dinosaur to the ground.

Feeling proud of himself he smiled down at the animal struggling to roll back onto its feet. Amon knew this would be easy now he pounced at it without a second thought, but that proved to be a mistake. With the T-rex on it's back it's legs moved freely, Amon found himself being caught and impaled by it's several claws. He clenched his teeth in pain as he was forced back and hurled to the ground himself. The T-rex had managed enough leverage to stand back up and was now charging it's way towards him.

Amon couldn't let himself get too cocky again, he stared down the beast and anticipated it's next assault with great care. He knew he had more than enough strength to fight the creature, but he had to keep his wits about him as well. He could see the weak point on the dinosaur he had been waiting for. He stayed very still as the T-rex came stomping towards him. Amon stayed where he was, the wings on his head pulled back and his muscles tensed.

With a wide-open mouth and a deafening roar, the T-rex was coming down to crush his head like a melon but just in that instance the demon made his move. Redirecting his way ever so swift and smooth he snaked his body around and clasped his fangs down with all his might right on the T-rex's exposed jugular.

An ear-splitting cry emptied the T-rex's lungs and Amon ensured they'd never fill again, as the dinosaur slowly slipped away. Amon felt the life of the powerful dinosaur pour out of it like the blood gushing into his mouth and down his neck. He could taste his victory and feel his triumph, he had won, he had bested the king of beasts.
