The fingertips of dawn were beginning to grace the feral and unkept lands as the lone devil laid contently with himself and his meal. It was a hardy catch; Amon had spent the rest of the night digging into the huge T-rex enjoying the taste and indulging in his first experience eating. It was better than he had imagined; however, his peace was being challenged. For the past few minutes, the devil couldn't help but sense he was not alone.

The wings on his head lifted to get a better sound and his eyes stayed attentive. He had heard something rummaging in the nearby shrubs but hadn't caught sight of it yet. He knew there was more than one, there were several faint scents in the air. He couldn't distinguish what it was, but he knew it was trouble. He emitted a low growl as he placed a firm hand on his prey's carcass.

Just then from behind her heard something moving faster, his ear wings twitched as the rest of his head spun around with it. In an instant he could see another devil that looked like a cross between a lizard and slug came rushing at him. His body took action without his conscious effort, twisting his form he clutched the leaping devil right from the air and into his talons. The shock and fear practically came to its face faster than Amon had moved. As far as the beastly demon was concerned the slimy creature had made it's bed and now would lay in it. He squeezed his talons, letting his huge claws delve into the screaming devils form. After only seconds the small devil had been thoroughly crushed, leaving Amon to smile at his miniscule victory.

Chaos began to break loose after that. Every devil that had been hiding out now made itself known, going after Amon's meal all at once. The crimson demon flipped back in appalment, it wasn't even about the food, he was well full enough, but it was the audacity that offended him.

He watched the wormy little beasts pick off his food and just as he was about to make them pay for it, he noticed something intriguing. The devil's seemed to act in teams in two, fighting each other rather than everyone fighting randomly for the scraps. That element was odd enough, but Amon didn't want to think about it much longer. These demons weren't giving him a second thought as they squabbled over one another, as if his say were meaningless. He decided that he would happily prove them wrong.

He bulked himself up and went for it, bowling right in between their chaos. The other demons must not have even bothered to see it coming as they hollered in shock. Amon took them on all at once ducking, swerving, and nearly avoiding their blows as he set in his own. He kind of enjoyed getting to test out his skills on some real opponents, even if they were still merely push overs. The two sides had been failing as they attempted now to not only fight Amon but were still tussling amongst each other. After a good chunk of each of their men went down the two sides figured it be best just for now to stand together, something Amon had been pondering the possibility of.

Now it seemed Amon was being attacked and lunged at from all angles. He tried to stay on top of it, and for his first real fight he was standing his own exceptionally, but still the playing field was becoming noticeably unfair.

Amon could feel his anger and determination driving him, the rush of the fight, his body began to act on its own. He could feel a much deeper and primal power flowing in from his core. Like a distant memory it instinctively took him over, as a mighty fire began to shroud him. He felt that burn ward the other devils off him as he heard them scream in pain. He smiled, he didn't know he could do such a thing, but he liked finding out. He wanted to stay on this roll and see what else he could be capable of.

He heard it coming before he saw it. One of the stronger of the devil warriors behind him had fired up a special attack of its own. He quickly moved out of the way as the energy blast came towards him. He felt the ripple of the breeze from the assault as he retook his footing. Without a second thought he redirected the heat externally from his body to instead direct it from his mouth. A trail of orange flame erupted from him aiming right for the stronger of demons. It seemed he was a bit more seasoned than the others as he was able to dive out of the way. Amon was annoyed but wouldn't put his power to waste, he used it to spew across the rest of the battlefield and take care of the remaining straggling enemy's.

He ceased his blaze and kept an eye out for the single devil left. He knew he was around, he lifted his antenna and sensed for his opponent. He picked up on him almost instantaneously, Amon flipped around only to meet its vengeance. The large demon grasped his fist and then the other, holding him there, he could feel how hard his enemy had to try to even keep his ground with him. Amon began to feel a smirk pull at his lip as he stepped forward, and in turn, forced his cowering assailant back. He started to get more forceful, as if he were playing with him as finally, he threw this other demon all the way back. The devil went flying back against a tree so hard Amon could see every branch tip shutter.

He was grinning huge, feeling good about himself as he rolled his neck and puckishly walked up to his opponent.

"Well now, we see what happens when you try to mess with the big boys, huh!?" Amon boasted staring down the other devil smugly. At first the other demon seemed to have a frightened look to him, but within a split second that turned to cunning. Before Amon knew it his legs had been completely knocked out from under him as his enemy's tail had swiped at him.

"Well, that oughta teach you not to get so full of yourself," he cackled, coming back to his feet and darting off back into the forest. Amon rested on the ground for a moment, his face was slumped before frustration morphed it. He couldn't even argue against that, he cursed himself under his breath as he got back up and chased after the vexing demon. He'd pay for witnessing that humiliation.

As he chased after him Amon allowed himself to focus, making himself aware of each movement and every stride. He worked to regain that power he had before and use it to his advantage. A new sensation came upon him, it was like a vibrant energy in his antenna. He wasn't sure what it was, but he went with it regardless. He could see his opponent now and narrowed his gaze directing his energy right at his target.

An electric wave came from his antenna and moved like an arrow striking the fleeing offender. He heard his scream of pain and knew he had him now.

Catching up to the escapee was a breeze now and once he laid eyes on him, he knew he'd got him just in the nick of time. His body was still convulsing from Amon's shock and was just about to spread his wings and descend a vast cliffside.

Amon came up to the demon this time with much more cation in his step but no less pride. He grasped the disgusting devil by its throat and pushed him up against a nearby tree.

"So, tell me what gave you and your little friends there the gall to try and steal my kill?" Amon asked in a booming tone.

"The gall?" he squeaked and gagged for another breath. "What gave you the gall to impede the war effort by killing us and hoarding all that food to yourself!?"

Amon paused, then nearly laughed, "What? Yes, how dare I defend what's rightfully mine," he scoffed.

"Yours? These lands that you hunted that T-rex on don't belong to you. As of right now they belong to no one, but soon they will be claimed by the fearsome Gorgon clan. Once we claim our victory from these Reptilian bozos and you be terminated along with them!"

Amon's head pivoted to the side as he let all of what the demon had said sink in, "Terminate me along with them? Ha, I'd like to see them try. Seems I took care of the rest of your group well enough; wouldn't you say?"

An offended scowl crossed the other demon's lips, "I encourage you to, you only got lucky this time, in a real war you'll be disposed of promptly. This world is only for the strong, only the strong survive, only the strong conquer, and only the strongest will claim their glory alongside the demon king in the divine war!"

The red beastly demon perked some hearing that last part, "The divine war? Is that in addition to the first war you mentioned?" Amon asked somewhat patronizingly.

The confined devil only seemed to become that much more miffed with his captor, "The great divine war? You know, the plague of angelic warriors that have been ransacking our home and slaughtering our kind for some time now? Were you born yesterday or something?"

Amon's eyes rolled back in his head curtly, "I'd say last night would be more accurate."

The enemy demon's jaw dropped as his eyes spread, being dumbstruck. Amon couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

"Now tell me, who is this demon king? What makes him think he's so special?" Amon chortled.

"How dare you, it is an honor to fight in the demon king's army. Only the best and strongest demons fight with him because he is the greatest of devils!" the gorgon shot back.

"Hmm," Amon pulled back with a simper. "We'll see about that."

Outraged, his prisoner squirmed in his hold, clawing and gnawing at his arm and fist. The larger demon took care of his hostages outburst with a harsh slam back against the tree. This time the inside of the tree could be heard crackling and rippling inside, one more good hit and it would collapse. The demon moaned in pain as he continued to gasp for air.

"Ah ah ah, one last question. Where is the war over this land you were speaking of earlier?" Amon's voice remained calm and calculating.

"Why should I tell you!" it argued. In response Amon simply squeezed his hand harder over the devil's windpipe. A face of regret and panic came over his detainee instantly.

"Okay, okay…" he squeaked, running out of oxygen. Amon let up slightly to allow his air flow.

The demon first took in his breath and began, "That war is taking place between that mountain pass down there. Now please, please release me!" he begged.

"I see," Amon said, taking in an eyeful of the location he had been speaking of. Feeling the demon present and writhe under his hand was enough to demand his attention back to him. He smiled one more time with a nasty gaze.

"Don't you worry I remember; I'll release you. But first…" Amon's teeth clenched together in a brimming grin as he crushed his hand over the demon's neck allowing the blood to spew everywhere and roll down his arm. In only seconds the gorgon was dead and Amon let him go in a heap on the ground.

"There, all taken care of…" the demon said puckishly as he wiped off his arm and turned his view to oversee the mountain pass.

"Hmm, so only the best and strongest survive huh?"

Amon allowed a determined smile to pull at his lips and he felt his wings grow from his back. If he were going to be a part of this world then he'd play by their rules. He wasn't even aware of the extent of his powers, but he was eager to find out. If there was a war going on then he'd make himself a part of it, all by himself.

He started to step to the cliffs edge and slowly pulled open his wings, feeling the gales tug at him. He liked the feeling of the breeze under his wings, an excitement ignited within him as he leapt off the lip of the rock face and fell like a missile downward. He built up his speed, rocketing down faster and faster till at last he thrust his wings open, sending him hovering into the skies. It felt incredible flying over the lands as fast as he could. He roared in joy as he made a beeline for the pass not too far ahead. He could practically see his future ahead of him, setting amongst royalty, having all others marvel at his strength and power. He would work his way up and take the place of that demon king, living lavishly in a castle of splendor. However, first he would need to prove himself, and once the sight of that war came to his eyes, he knew this is where he was meant to be.

He landed on a ridge just over the raging battle. The smell of blood, the sound of war cries and the spectacle of the fight, he loved every minute of it. He could hardly contain himself, he wanted to be a part of this and steal their victory all to himself. He would be renowned for such a feat, battling two armies at once for his own gain. He flicked his tail and slowly but surely descended upon the quarrel.

As he had learned, he didn't want to get too ahead of himself, so he worked around the outskirts first. Circling the battlefield like a shark he steadily made his way further and further inside as the days passed and the fight continued on. Amon discovered new abilities he possessed nearly every day. His physical strength was obvious, but the power to expel fire, and create beams and star fragments of pure energy to cut through his opponents was something that set him a cut above the rest. After some time and honing his craft and fighting styles, the day-to-day squabbles admittedly became somewhat stale to him. However, thankfully for him that didn't last much longer, it seemed the more he fought and the more he reached the center the more notice the main war took to him and the threat he posed.

40 nights and 40 days had come and gone, as the ruthless demon was put to the ultimate task. He fought hard and long as the full unbridled force of both armies came for him at once. Towards the end of the great battle his body was bloodied and tired but had held strong and at last he could see his goal. A seemingly endless field of mangled and broken bodies sat before him.

His aching talons haphazardly scraped along the ground and dead bodies that lay strewn at his feet. There wasn't a part of him that wasn't screaming in exhaustion, but still a smile pulled up his lips. After all this time he had proved he was strong enough to hold his own against not only one but two armies at once and now his final task sat just out of his clutches. The true trophy of his escapade, the general of the reptilians was standing on a hill helplessly seeking any of his men that still might be alive. Amon was sure he left no other demon standing and the last one didn't even see him there with his back turned. It was all too perfect, the great devil crouched and was ready to pounce, feeling the anticipation nearly eat him alive.

Suddenly Amon heard a sound coming through over the wind, the general happened to notice as well, but not in enough time. Before Amon ever even knew what took place the Reptilian general had been taken down, but not by him.

He lurched up in shock and devastation, his eyes bugging from his head and his jaw practically on the ground. The general's head was clean off and now in the clutches of a bird-like creature. Amon's surprise quickly became fury as he marched up the rest of that hill to give whatever this was a piece of his mind, or much more likely his fist.

"Hey! Hey you! What do you think you're doing with that head!?" he yelled. Just as he got close the figure turned around completely revealing the figure of a beautiful, voluminous demoness with white feathers. The shock he had eliminated from his system had just as soon returned to him then, as his head tilted to the side curiously.

"What am I doing with this head? What is it to you? And furthermore who are? I think I'd remember a big strong devil like you," she had a sultry voice.

Amon hated to admit it, but she did in fact have a charm to her that somewhat defused his anger for the time being. He was sure this wasn't the first time she'd used it to her advantage.

He laughed to himself and approached her in a much more lighthearted roguish manner, "Well madam, it seems there's been a slight mix up, but for you I could be forgiving."

She raised a brow and slowly slinked herself closer to him, "Oh, really? How mercifully of you, how's about you tell me about this little mishap hmm?"

Amon smiled back at her. Her eyes shimmered lustfully as she batted her long eyelashes practically putting him into a stupor.

"With pleasure, see that general's head you got there, see it's mine. I spent 40 days and nights fighting two armies at once and he was the last one left I had standing, and you kinda swooped in there at the last second," he laughed it off and brought himself closer to her.

The large wings and antennas atop her head perked in surprise, but her eyes didn't appear none too shocked, "Oh dear, did I do that?"

Amon chuckled, "Well, yeah, yeah you did but it's fine," he said, reaching out to grab it from her. She placed it behind her back as she adopted an apologetic yet alluring stance.

"I'm so foolish, it sounds like you went to a lot of trouble," she placed one of her taloned fingers on his chin, aiding in keeping her distance. "You know I have a lot of respect for a demon who can get a job done, especially one so taxing. You must be quite the warrior," her voice purred.

The male demon was captivated by her curvaceous body but couldn't help but feel concern rise up in the back of his mind.

"Yes, I'd have to say so myself, and to help prove this point I will be needing my head now," Amon said, coming toward her again as his tail snaked around behind her. In a swift, balletic move, she twirled herself around him and rested her body at his side, escaping his direct grasp.

"You're very right, I suppose I am rambling. I guess I can't help myself," she giggled, being sure to casually rub her large chest up against his arm as she went. The wings on Amon's head were standing up straight as his tail flicked anxiously. "But what can I say, I like a male with the blood of his enemies soaked into his coat," she whispered into his ear.

That was the final straw Amon was completely distracted by her advances. He breathed in a futile attempt to ease even a portion of his erotic desires.

"Sounds like you're in luck, sweet cheeks!" he cooed. The demon flipped himself around to take her into his arms but just as he did, she had gracefully spun herself away from him again. Now a distance away she faced him bashfully.

"It sounds like I am, but first there is something you should know…"

Amon couldn't keep the smirk off his face looking at her, he walked steadily towards her slicking back the mane on his head.

"Oh, and what's that?" he leaned in closer to her as she kept the large excitable smile on her face. There was an ornery energy to her, Amon assumed it was her frisky nature as he anticipated her physical contact.

She came in closer letting the tip of her claw run down his face. However, suddenly she took hold of his beard and looked him down with a toothy grin and a narrow gaze.

"I'm not giving any head!" she cackled and yanked his head down to thrust herself higher into the air. The incentive act shocked Amon but it didn't take much longer for him to put two and two together. He stared back up at her clasping his fangs together and rumbling with a low growl. She was flying above him with a smug look to her.

"You lying little wench! That's mine, you have no right to it!" he beat his wings down hauling himself into the sky.

"Oh, see but I'm the one who finished him, if you were truly worthy of such a prize it would be yours wouldn't it?" she toyed flying higher.

"Because you stole it!" his voice only got that much more intimidating. He climbed the gales after her, going higher and higher into the air, keeping his watch solely on her.

"Stolen fair and square! Now I shall present this head to the demon king himself, and he'll place me Sirene, commander of all the harpies!" she bellowed with laughter once more. Her laughter only incited more of his rage as he flew faster. Everything seemed to blur around him as he locked his eyes onto her seeing nothing but red. She saw him coming and upped her speed, she didn't think much of him and thus continued her game.

"Oh seems you might like it rough, that's okay so do I!" she said, detaching one of her talons and allowing it to shoot directly down at the red behemoth. Amon wasn't expecting an attack like that and had the misfortune of being slashed by it. It whipped by him one more time, he really didn't expect it to have a mind of its own. He lifted his antenna and ears, having plenty of this little trick now. The next time it came by he readied himself and right before it hit him, he grasped it midair. He held it by the wrist and watched it twitch and try to cut him.

He smiled seeing her above him with a sour look. He wouldn't hold back now; he was coming for her full force, and the only other arm she had available was busy keeping a hold of the general's head. She opened the talons on her feet to catch him as she braced herself, but his strength was immense. He plowed right through her attempts and into her directly. She was in shock from the initial action but soon she placed her guard up again. Amon came at her punching, kicking, and clawing, and she did the same. It was much more difficult for Sirene as she was constricted to using just her feet. She knew she had to get her arm back.

Sirene growled and tried to dodge his advances while targeting his hand with her arm. Finally she managed to get an opening. The opportunity was rare and precious; she kicked squarely on his hand releasing her arm, she instantly called it back.

Amon snarled in vexation as he could see her relishing in her success.

"Well looks like the playing field just got more even. Now you'll have to face the full force of Sirene!" she declared coming right for him.

"It's about time!" he hollered back, setting himself up to counter her. When she at last arrived she came kicking and screaming, her claws raked all over his body and his muscles beat her down. Amon had to admit from all the demons he'd faced so far, she was the first to present him with a somewhat fair challenge.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you not to put your hands on a woman without her permission!" the demoness ribbed as she continued their fight.

"Don't worry, this one's been asking for it!" he replied.

"Oh, you know in all honesty I do like a male who can take change, you might not be half bad!" she eyed him with a kittenish gleam. "But I can't play with you forever, there are destinies to be written!" She cracked up with laughter.

The wings on his head fell back knowing it was now or never. He had to get that head back. Sirene could see what he was targeting and in a last second decision she threw the general's head much higher up until it was hidden by a thin veil of clouds and out of his reach. Amon gasped and went flying up after it, not giving the demon bird another thought. He had never flown so high up before and in such a dense fog, but he had to find it. He had to reclaim what was rightfully his. He could see it reaching its peak and the will of gravity beginning to bring it back down.

His mouth opened, letting a gaping smile split his face. He reached his hand out and was ready to catch it. However suddenly, Sirene's disembodied arm came flying in again and the second Amon saw it he scolded himself over. Her talon gripped the head right out of his reach once more, he should have known better, the wrath of this injustice seeped from his teeth in a menacing growl. He watched the arm be called back to its owner and chased it through the heavy mists. He sped up faster than he ever had before as he stayed fixed right on her. There was no messing around anymore, he had to get that back from her.

Sirene's arm had attached itself back to her and brought the head with it, but she could see the unhappy demon coming her way. She took off deeper into the clouds yelling back at him.

"You think you could catch me like that, I was born in the skies! It'd take you nearly 3 moons to even make it to the king's mountain chamber!" she chastised.

Her little comments weren't helping Amon's temper; he started to feel that old familiar burn in his belly as he readied his next attack. Sirene was too busy being amused with herself to really catch on to what he was doing, however when at last it happened, she felt genuine fear. Shooting by her a beam of vaporizing heat blasted. She narrowly escaped a nasty wound but lost a few feathers in the process. It may not have hit her but now the whole situation had changed. The thought that her life could be in real danger crossed her mind for the first time, seeing how close his bizarre and powerful ability came to her. Her face was completely serious now as she dipped through the overcast terrain. She swerved diligently as if she were sensing something. Amon didn't care, all he needed to do was keep up with her. He knew if he shot at her again there was a chance he could down her, he just didn't want to lose his trophy in the process.

He was so close to her now. With the absences of some of her feathers flying became a bit less easy for her, which was just perfect for Amon. He could see her starting to make up for her loss of speed by fancy aerial maneuvers, Amon wouldn't bother wasting his energy with anything like that. He felt a spark of glee jump through his heart as his arm went out to grab at her ankle. She was right there only the length of an eyelash away, only a little further and she would be paying for the wrong she had done him.

Then instantaneously she flipped herself out of the way and within the same second Amon's body met a hard and rocky pillar. Nothing registered to him at first other than the fact that he had been stopped and that that damn demoness was getting away from him. The less than subtle sensation of pain rolled in after, as he tenderly brought his body up to see what was going on. He was clinging to the side of the rock face he had crashed into; it had been completely submerged in clouds resulting in his misfortune accident. Sirene must have bothered to sense it as Amon could overlook what was below it now and could see the demon-bird becoming smaller and smaller over the horizon.

"No! No! You miserable little bitch!" He roared hearing his deafening cry echo off the mountains. The beast of a demon was fuming as he collected himself enough to take off once more. The soreness of his body after so long of fighting and the impact he just encountered made itself known. He pushed on though ignoring his plight and allowing his hunger for vengeance to guide him.

He recalled what she had said, about the demon king's mountain chamber. If that was where she was going then like Hell, she better be ready as he'd make sure he would be there waiting for her.
