"Keep your heads up men, and follow the harpies above!" Amon's voice boomed out over the endless field of his beastia troops. He flew above them, keeping an eye on every last one and even having some attention to spare. With half his focus on his army, the other eye couldn't help but get a good view of the harpy commander soaring a little way above him. Sirene noticed his prying gaze, enjoying every second of it. This mission was one neither of them had too many concerns on and thus they bestowed a substantial amount of attention to one another.

"It's quite a lovely night, wouldn't you say Amon? The beautiful moon is full and bright, perfect for making mischief under," she flew next to him, allowing her claws to lightly caress his cheek.

"Hmm, that is lovely, add a bit of blood from our enemies and you got yourself a date," Amon added.

Sirene appeared excited, "Oh, the workday just doesn't go by fast enough!"

Just as she finished, their opponent's army had begun to roll in. None of which looked anything like a threat, but that was standard for how Amon's battle's normally went, especially with the harpies' aid.

"Hey, was it the Gorgon's or the Dinazo that was supposed to meet us out here today!?" the beastia asked his ally.

"Who cares, we don't need either of them anyway, all we need is each other!" Sirene called back as she began to dive in for an attack, with Amon following behind her. She slashed the limbs off any demon that flew up at her and sent the rest of the helpless body back for Amon to dispose of. They went back and forth like this, dancing amongst one another in the skies and plowing through their victims. On occasion, Amon would land and kick up a group of hapless devils into the air for Sirene to then finish. The couple would laugh on the battlefield between commands of their subordinates and cheekily slip wandering eyes to one another. Their battles were often won this way, as very rarely did the opposite side ever pose a real threat. It was a standard affair, kill off the army and take all that remained in to serve the king's court. Amon never hardly gave these things much thought and instead found himself longing for the nightlife. However, on this particular day, something unexpected would make itself known.

Amon overlooked the now stale battlefield, seeing the overwhelming majority of his men alive and well. They patted each other on the back and congratulated one another. The same seemed to show for the harpy warriors as well. Everything had gone accordingly much to the commander's delight. He could practically taste the bite of the liquor he'd devour that night, as well as the bite from Sirene. The beastia could see her flying down to greet him, he simpered up to her.

"Well, now that the appetizers' done, what's you say we get to the real pounding," Amon's brow bobbed impishly.

Sirene flicked her head playfully, and rolled her eyes to his cheesy gesture, "Sounds tempting, you always know when I'm starving for the main course."

The demon swiftly took her around the waist and into his arms. She giggled at his devilish advances as he began to take her away. The couple hadn't gone nearly five steps before the sound of a distant boom broke the sound barrier. All devils in the nearby vicinity looked up to what was causing such a loud disturbance. Far off in the dusk's sky there was a pinpoint of light dashing over the horizon. It looked like a shooting star at first. However, the closer it came, the more it reminded Amon of a meteor. It was coming faster and faster and was getting larger by every passing second.

At last the bright globe of light seemed to have crashed into a far-off mountain. It was close enough to be seen but still incredibly distant. For a solid moment the demons were in solidarity pondering on the origins of this mysterious thing from space.

"What was that?" Sirene asked with a serious face.

"I don't know, it wasn't like any meteor I've ever seen," Amon said. Sirene's interest in the matter depleted rather swiftly as she tried to tug the large male along with her.

"Come on Amon, I'm sure it was nothing," she cooed. He felt her desire and hated to ignore her but something about this new encounter pulled at him.

"I'm going to go check it out," he concluded flatly. The wings on Sirene's head perked in surprise but soon her face turned in appalment witnessing his seriousness.

"Check it out? But Amon hon, we had plans. What is a lumpy space rock to me?"

It was clear she was masking her genuine disappointment with a cutesy tone. Amon looked back to her and sighed allowing a softness to grace his features.

"I'll only be a bit. I'll be back in plenty of time for this evening," he tried to subdue her upset.

Slowly Sirene's body eased as she gave into his assurance, "Very well. But you better be back in time."

The harpy was miffed, and Amon could see it through her body language as she tore herself away from him. He knew how much it bothered her, but he was thankful she was at least accepting of it. He figured she'd forgive him for it later anyway. He smirked thinking about it as he watched her fly away.

Not wanting to waste any more time, he turned and flew right in the direction the mysterious object had crashed landed. With Amon's strength and speed, the trip was a rather short one and finding what had collided with the Earth wasn't hard either. Glancing down into a large newly formed crater, the demon could see something glowing dimly. It was like an ember about to extinguish; it was so faint. With a knit brow, Amon descended the slope to get a better view.

The closer he got the worse of a feeling pooled in his stomach. This wasn't a natural light that one might find on Earth, this appeared like it had been a star plucked from the sky itself. He hated the emotions that arose in him witnessing this anomaly. The nagging familiarity of it was enough to have turned away from it for good, but his curiosity proved overpowering.

He skulked closer to it, soon he was close enough to make out details of this creature, and just as he had suspected he knew what this was, who this was.

As the light it emitted at last went out there was no shadow of doubt left for Amon to fall back on. This wasn't a meteor but an angel, an angel he recognized.

The beastia was beginning to feel uneasy as he backed away. The angel was unconscious, but was already seeming to come to. Amon didn't even have enough time to decide if he wanted to get away or not as the crystal blue eyes of the being opened. The demon was absolutely still for a time as the divine entity blinked a few times and took in its bearings.

The wings on his head flicked alertly as his eyes darted around the area. He was completely naked, and seemed rather beat up and worn out from his fall. At last Amon's head turned to the side and he carefully stepped nearer. The angel immediately noticed this flipping around and taking on a defensive stance. Amon did the same but to a more reluctant degree. The angel's defensiveness didn't last as awe and relief took its place.

"You…" he whispered.

The devil paused in thought before responding, "Yeah… You're back?"

The angel, Lucifer, seemed to have a distant haze in his eyes as he viewed the ground. A million thoughts appeared to pass through his mind as he took deep breaths.

"Yes, it appears I am…" he answered almost questioningly. Amon was a tad befuddled by his response, but couldn't shake the concerns he had, he knew the purpose of angels like him. His demons could very well be in danger as could his way of life. He had no idea the potential threat this angel could bring.

"I-I thought, you went back to heaven. What are you doing here?" Amon asked but feared he knew the answer.

Lucifer placed his hand to his head with an unblinking glaze in his eye. There was something horrific that laid beyond that look. An angel, a creature of poise and grace looked as though he could tremble.

"I don't know…" he squeaked.

Amon's head wings lifted in surprise and his eyes narrowed. He knew he heard him correctly but inside he was just having a hard time believing it.

"You don't know why you came all the way back here?" he questioned.

The golden being took in a deep breath, he hadn't even made eye contact with the beastia the whole time.

"I know why I'm here, I'm here because I, I have nowhere else to go…" he admitted quietly. Amon's eyes widened; he was stunned upon that revelation. It was so strange to hear Lucifer talk this way. All the memories he ever had of him, whether that be his own or the scarce memories of the knight before him, Lucifer never spoke so defeated.

"What are you talking about? You're no longer allowed in heaven?"

The only response Amon reserved in turn was the angel slowly shaking his head. It was like watching a wilted plant flow in the breeze.

"How come? Last I recall, all you wanted to do was serve your father. Hell, you wanted me to aid you," Amon reminded. Lucifer seemed visibly agitated just by the suggestion alone. The wings on his head fixed back and he clasped his arms around himself.

"Don't concern yourself with that, it's no longer necessary," he was shot in his reaction. The devil could tell it wasn't an aggravation that he had caused. As a matter of fact, if he had to guess, he believed his God was the one responsible for the misery he was suffering from now. Amon could hear in his breaths that he was fighting to regain his mind, as he finally and sheepishly looked up to him.

"I'm very tired, do you know of a place I might be able to stay?" he asked, humble and earnest. This behavior was one Amon found extremely uncharacteristic, but in his current state, he couldn't blame him either. He wasn't sure where he could take him, angels weren't a very desirable catch but perhaps with his status, Zennon could be reasoned with.

"You know, I can't think of too many places where you'd be welcome. Angels aren't well-liked amongst us demons," he said bluntly.

"I know…" Lucifer's head fell once more.

"But I might be able to persuade the king if you're well mannered," Amon finished.

The feathery wings atop the angel's head popped up, as his begging sights returned to the demon.

"That would be most appreciated, if you could."

Amon rubbed at the back of his neck and did all he could to keep back a grimace as at last he released his breath and gave in to the idea. Unfurling his wings in a swift motion, the devil gestured for the angel to follow.

"Stay close and keep low," he ordered. "I can't believe I'm doing this," he grumbled to himself.

The trip to the Zennon's castle was eerily quiet. It was a silence that was brimming to explode at any moment. Amon knew there was something strange going on with this angel, there was something he wasn't telling. The beastia just hoped whatever it was wouldn't blow up in his face.

The closer they got to the king's mountain, the more funny looks Amon received. He ignored them, keeping his head down and plowing through. When they reached the gate, Amon was instantly halted by the guards, all of which seemed utterly shocked and perplexed.

"Amon, what is it you have there?" the guard asked, nearly trembling.

"It's an angel, but don't worry, there's something up with this one. The king will want to see him," he assured.

The guards eyed the angel, and then one another. None of them seemed too eager to open the gates, but not a single one of them chose to reject the request either. Steadily, the gates opened and the two were ushered into the palace. The wandering looks continued, but Amon and Lucifer were far too close to mind them now.

Entering the throne room, Zennon didn't react immediately but the second he could see what was trailing behind Amon, he stopped completely. The expression on his face was uncharacteristically stunned as he watched them both walk up before him.

Amon and Zennon shared eye contact as if to express how incredibly unprecedented the whole situation was. Regardless, the beastia commander bowed his head and started.

"Zennon, I understand the guest I bring you today is rather unusual, but from what I have gathered, this angel is unlike the rest."

"And why is that?" the king's head tilted to one side.

Amon opened his mouth to speak, however was shocked to discover he didn't have to.

"Because I am a fallen angel…" Lucifer stated flatly. All the demons were completely silent. It was as if for a moment the entire world was watching the being of light. With a completely blank and lifeless expression, Lucifer continued. "I no longer have any affiliation with God."

Something within Zennon seemed to brighten as his eyes ran over with intrigue. It was as if he was seeing the answer to a puzzle he had been contemplating for far too long.

"Hmm, this is rather unheard of. How is it you found yourself to be a fallen angel? What could you have possibly done to have turned this all-mighty being against you?"

There was a stillness as everyone slowly leaned closer. The angel was statue-like as his mind raced through each and every event leading to that point. When finally he seemed to catch up to the present, he answered in a calm and blunt voice.

"I dared to question him…"

As he put his explanation into words, it was as if he could feel that experience once more. He could feel the worry in his gut as he, at last, arrived home from a long journey empty-handed. He recalled his brother's joyous greeting and their flustered scolding. It was Michael's nature to show his care through his pestering, in a way Lucifer had come to appreciate it.

"Brother, what were you thinking? Going off by yourself? And what happened? The devil, the devil in the moon, it's gone! Father is greatly disturbed!" Michael recounted firmly.

"Lou, are you alright? You seem fairly shook up," Gabriel added on with a concerned tremble.

Lucifer heard their questions, and could even hear the rest of his brothers all sharing the same harrowing thoughts. Worst of all, he could feel the immense dread of their father, as well as his oncoming wrath. Just as Lucifer had feared, God was already aware of his rash actions.

He entered the grand palace's hearing room, walking slowly and as if he were on autopilot. His mind didn't even register all that was occurring, and yet he was already standing at the blinding foot of God's throne.

God displayed visions of his poor decisions right before him, with all his brothers to view again. He could see how he had turned away his squad and his trek up the mountain. How he had created larger and more powerful demons, as well as summoning the most feared devil of them all. Never had Lucifer felt this intense fear before, it was the mortal fear of God, witnessing The Devil's creation.

"How could you do this?" he heard his brothers speak together all at once, speaking the words of God. "You awoke the ancient being I never intended to create. Why would you endanger us so?"

Lucifer was shivering down to each and every feather. He knew what he needed to say but found it difficult to form his words. Finally, after a moment, Lucifer's lips finally parted.

"W-we were in a desperate situation my father. I did not wish for us to return with nothing, I did not wish for us to have to eradicate the planet. It was your great and majestic world. Those disgusting creatures have putrefied it. I believed if I could harness the power of this slumbering spirit in the moon, I could use it to save our world. I had no inkling of its true nature, you have never before now spoke on its existence," he defended himself.

"In your efforts, you only proved more harm and disgraced my might," the heaven's rumbled.

It felt like an icy knife was twisting up in his chest, as his mouth hung open and his head shook meekly.

"Please father I meant no such disrespect. All I have ever done has been to please you," Lucifer fell to his knees.

"You only sought your own praise, for this you will be demoted."

The angel's eyes widened into a horrific expression. He mouthed the word no over and over again but never would it sound outwardly. It wasn't until he felt the shock and awe of his brothers, did what was actually happening seem real to him. Time itself was escaping him, it was rushing past, and it seemed he was moving far too slow to stop it. Alarm bells were racking in his mind, he had to say something. He had to make him see, this was wrong.

"No!" at last he broke through. A slight gasp resonated amongst the brothers and Lucifer himself couldn't believe what he had done. He was on a roll though; this was his chance. The angel didn't know what he was thinking, but he charged on anyway.

"No, father, you can't do this to me, please. I have been nothing but loyal and respectful of you. I want nothing more than to please you, to make you proud!" he shot back.

"Then you have failed."

Lucifer looked as though he had been struck across the face. The natural glow to his body dimmed and his face was utterly mortified. His entire being felt empty. Not even horror, nor pain filled him. He was all but numb.

He could feel the castle start to shake and sputter as the light of God began to move. The once proclaimed angel had no idea what was to come, he could only sit there and wait helplessly.

"Lucifer, you will never know how hurt I am to have to do this to you, but a lesson must be learned."

At that moment, in that very second, right where Lucifer stood, something snapped.

"No you do not!" he yelled through seething clasped jaws. The area became stiff and frigid. "All you care about is yourself! I have done nothing but adore you! I only ever wished to be just like you, and this is how you repay me!"

"I am your father, I owe you nothing," God's tone became much fiercer.

"You are behaving like a merciless father, and I won't stand for this!"

For what seemed several eternal minutes, all was quiet. When the silence, at last, came to an end, it was in a sinister voice.

"Is this a challenge?"

Lucifer had so much running through his mind, so much he could spit in his rage, but something about hearing that stopped it. The angel tried to evaluate all that was happening as it flew past him. He could pick up on these odd feelings within his brothers, it was a feeling of fret, a feeling of sorrow. As for his father, there was nothing but disgust, the same disgust he looked down upon the demons with.

The next thing Lucifer could see was a bright and overpowering light. Its might was like that of the sun itself. The warmth his father created now sheered his skin and forced him away from the kingdom of God. All he heard was the unnatural and chilling screams of his brothers, and the final words of his father.

"For your grotesque act of rebellion and disrespect, I hereby banish you Lucifer. You shall travel the universe's endless darkness alone till the end of time, never to be permitted back into my realms."

The last words of God rang over and over in his head. It could have been hours or days, but he drifted in the recesses of space, wandering without a destination as a warrior without purpose. There was nothing more humiliating, nothing more saddening, nothing more angering, and most of all nothing more emptying. For once in his entire existence, he had no orders, nor status. Nothing to call his own. It wasn't until one day, in the far-off distance, he could see a small blue planet he recognized.

Slowly, Lucifer began to descend back into the present, coming out of his flashback and seeing the giant demon king stare down at him.

"So you have been discarded by the very God that has created you?" Zennon clarified.

The angel's body bobbed with a long sigh, as he nodded his head affirmingly. After hearing all that, Lucifer had endured Amon was admittedly a little taken back. He waited in the same anticipation as everyone else to hear his fate.

There was a stretch of quiet for some time. Zennon glared daggers down at him, assessing every little movement and every stray feather, until at last his face changed. Once more Amon picked up on a subtlety to his features, an expression Amon had only ever seen directed to him, but now he could see it again. It was a pleased and yet slimy smile.

"Well, in that case, you could be quite useful to us. We couldn't trust you right away of course, but in time perhaps you could prove your worth to me. Unlike the God, you derived from I would be most appreciative of your efforts, and if it doesn't work out, we'll simply just kill you," the king grinned.

Strangely, Lucifer didn't even seem all that concerned by the prospect. In a subdued voice, he answered.

"That would seem most fair, your highness…"
