Hello, everyone. I apologize once more for changing the way I'm writing the story, but I've decided to keep everything exactly as he wrote it. Anyway, back to the story, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the novelization so far, and there's still a long way to go. I don't think I'll ever catch up.
J.D. was working in his room when he noticed the viewers. "Hello, everyone. Today is December 24th, also known as Christmas Eve, and I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm just putting the finishing touches on all my gifts to Varie and my friends. I've been working on them since early November. This is my first Christmas in Michigan. My grandma, aunts, uncles, and other relatives are flying in from Colorado, and my dad went to meet them all at the airport. Varie is helping Mom in preparing the Christmas dinner, and Naruto is helping around the Loud House." He returned to his work and completed it. "Perfect. Everything is ready. Now to go see my friends and get ready for Christmas."
He slides down a tube that connects his room to Lincoln's Room.
The entire mansion and the guest houses are decked out in Christmas decorations before zooming in on Lincoln and Linka's room.
Lincoln puts on his snow pants and addresses the viewers. "It's the day before Christmas." He pulled an orange sweater over his head. "There's never been a better time to be in the Loud House." He put on a Charlie Brown Christmas-style cap. J.D. walks in and greets him.
"Hey Lincoln, are you looking forward to having the best Christmas ever?"
"I sure am J.D.," Lincoln said. "I can't wait."
"Where's Linka?" J.D. asked.
"She's around," Lincoln responded. "Let's go look for her."
J.D. and Lincoln left his room, and J.D. pulled Lana's scarf off, causing her to spin into the bathroom. J.D. used the Force to prevent her from spinning.
"Thanks, J.D," Lana said.
"No problem, Lana," J.D. replied.
Luna sang. " Christmas time is totally rad / I want those gifts, so I won't be bad!" She stopped singing and groaned. "Aww! Come on!"
J.D. praised Luna, saying, "I thought that was pretty good."
"Oh, thank you J.D.," Luna said.
"Are you having trouble with this year's Christmas song, Luna?" Lincoln asked.
Luna sighed. "Bros, I'm stuck like Santa in a chimney!" She was then inspired. "Ooh! That's not bad!" She begins to sing a new song. " I'm stuck like Santa in a chimney! I've been good all year, so gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme!" She stops once more. "Aww, rubbish!"
"You'll figure something out, Luna," J.D. assured her.
Luan appears, dressed as a reindeer. Luna glares at her. "I'll say! Those lyrics make no frankincense!" She laughs in a Santa Claus-like tone. "That's one!" She presses a remote, causing a counter with the number 1 to appear on a Christmas tree.
J.D. laughed at Luan's pun. "Good one, Luan."
Luan grinned. "Thanks. My twelve puns of Christmas are off to a great start. I've only got to come up with eleven myrrh!" She chuckles. "Make that ten!" She clicked her remote. The counter now reads 2.
Once more, J.D. laughed, and Eddy showed up. "Don't worry, Luan! Yule, get to 12!" He laughs like Santa. "That's three of our 12 Puns of Christmas."
A counter with a 3 appears.
Eddy's pun made J.D. laugh. "Good one, Eddy. Is Christmas your favorite holiday?"
Eddy sighed. "No, it isn't J.D. Christmas became a nightmare for me because all I ever received was clothes."
"Oh, that can get pretty monotonous, can't it?" J.D. observed.
Eddy nodded. "Yep. But that doesn't matter anymore, because moving to Royal Woods and being with Luan has been the best gift I've ever received."
Touched, Luan said, "Oh, Eddy." Eddy and Luan shared a kiss.
"AAAAWWWW," said J.D., Lily, and Lincoln in response to the adorable scene.
"You two are so cute together, and I can tell you were made for each other," Lily said.
"Thank you, Lily," Eddy replied.
Leni climbed up the stairs in a red and green dress with ornamental earrings. "Hey Lincoln, J.D. I just made the perfect Christmas outfit."
"You look beautiful in that dress, Leni," J.D. said, complimenting her. "Where is Ed?"
"He's in the Living Room helping mom put up the decorations," Leni replied.
J.D. nodded. "Oh. Okay."
"Hey, has anyone seen my plaid Christmas tablecloth?" Rita called out from somewhere in the house.
Leni looks down and notices she has used the tablecloth, then hushes Lincoln as she walks into her room.
"Double D is downstairs in the kitchen, helping L. Sr. with Christmas dinner," Eddy explained.
"Okay," J.D. replied. "We were about to go downstairs, anyway."
Lori was on the phone with Bobby. "Oh, don't worry about buying me a gift, Bobby Future Hubby Boo-Boo Bear. I mean, sure, it's our very first Christmas together," Bobby appears on a split screen as Lori's voice can still be heard on the other end of the phone. "And I'll probably remember what you give me for the rest of our lives, but no pressure." Zooms away from Bobby while holding two calendars in the mall's calendar section. He moves his phone to the other ear.
Bobby was talking on the phone with Lori. "Right. Uh, no pressure, Babe." He laughs and hangs up before falling to his knees and crying.
Back at the Knudson-Loud-Anderson House, Lincoln is at the bottom of the steps. From a stack of boots, he selects two different pairs, one for each of his sisters.
Laney is writing a letter in the Living Room while Crysta watches her. "Dear Santa, I've been a very good girl this year, and I believe I should get..." Hmm... What do I want this year...? Ooh! "A new fashionable beret" ... No wait, I already got that one. She crosses it out on the letter. "Perhaps a... no, got that too."
"Asking for things from Santa must be tough," Crysta observed.
"It certainly is, Crysta, and I don't know what to ask for," Laney admitted. "I'm trying to think." J.D. and Lincoln come down the stairs, and Laney and Crysta approach them. "Hey, guys. Can you help me? I'm writing a letter to Santa, but I'm not sure what I should get this year."
"Relax Laney, I'm sure you'll come up with something," Lincoln assured her.
J.D. praised Laney, saying, "You've been great this year. I have a feeling he'll give you something good."
"I have a feeling you're right, J.D.," Laney said. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," J.D. said. "Is this your first ever Christmas, Crysta?" he asked.
"It sure is," Crysta replied. "What, again, is Christmas?"
"It's the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ," J.D. explained. "He was born on December 25th, the year Zero. I am a very religious person and a strong follower of Jesus Christ." The scene shifts to him standing beneath a cloudy sky, with light rays shining through the clouds, and a divine chorus of angels from Heaven sings as he stands with his hands in prayer and a halo over his head.
Laney widened her eyes in awe. "Wow. I can see that."
"Me too," Crysta agreed.
Lincoln takes two different boots from a pile, one for each of his sisters. "Oops! Wrong ones!" He throws the boots out of the way; to the viewers, "Excuse me. This might take a while."
"No problem, Lincoln," J.D. assured him.
Lola zooms in as Lincoln prepares to dive into the boot pile.
Lola appeared to be completely innocent. "Hey there, favorite big brother! Allow me to dive into that pile of smelly, sweaty footwear and find your winter boots for you." She curtsies before diving into the pile.
As he watches, Lincoln is baffled. Lola then emerges from the pile carrying two brown boots.
Lola gasps for air. "Here you are, good sir!" She puts Lincoln's winter boots on his feet. "Two big brother boots. Boy, these are stylish!
Wow, Lola," Laney uttered. "That's oddly nice of you?"
"Why thank you, dear sister," Lola replied.
"Okay, what do you want?" Lincoln asked with suspicion.
Lola said quietly, with an evil grin on her face, "To get a good haul from Santa." She then returned to her normal tone of voice. "Contrary to popular belief, I am not an angel. So, if I'm going to get on Santa's nice list, I have one day to undo twelve months of naughtiness!"
"Technically, you are already an angel because of your powers," J.D. pointed out.
"That's true," Lola agreed. "I do have wings and I have done some good deeds, but I want to undo all my naughty stuff."
"You're wasting your time," Lisa said from somewhere. She wheeled in a whiteboard with equations and started pointing with a candy cane at different parts of the board. "Factoring in sleigh speed, time zone changes, and reindeer bathroom breaks, it is scientifically impossible for this so-called Kris Kringle to deliver gifts to the approximately one billion qualifying children. As you can see, X equals no stinkin' way." She takes a bite out of her candy cane.
"According to the 2016 census, there are currently 1.7 billion children worldwide, and the number is still growing," J.D. corrected.
Lisa nodded. "Ah. You are correct about that. Thank you."
"Are you saying there is no such thing as Santa?" Laney gasped.
Lisa nodded. "Precisely."
"You're lucky I'm being nice right now!" grumbled Lola.
"Don't listen to her guys," J.D. advised. "Of course, there is such a thing as Santa. I've always known."
"Really?" Laney asked.
J.D. shrugged. "Sure. As long as you have faith and belief. Let's just say I met him in person, along with several other children who didn't believe it at first."
"You've met Santa Claus!" exclaimed Laney in shock.
"Yep, not to brag, but I had an awesome event happen to me when I was seven," J.D. explained. "I'll tell you everything later."
"All right," Laney said.
Geo, wearing a Santa hat with a bell on it, rolls by the Christmas tree. Cliff is batting at the tree lights while Charles sleeps beneath, dreaming of sugarplums. They both have Christmas sweaters on. In a scarf, Walt flies to a partridge in a pear tree ornament. He lands on a branch and flirts with the fake partridge before it falls.
Ed and Lily are helping Rita with the decorations.
Lily said, "Here mom," and handed Rita her purple stocking.
Rita smiled. "Thank you, sweety. She is nailing a purple stocking for Lily on the wall, away from the fireplace where the other Louds' stockings are hung, and next to a pink one for Lola. "Do you know what I want for Christmas? A bigger fireplace."
"I believe I can arrange that, Ms. Rita," J.D. said. "Stand back." Rita took a step back as J.D. chanted an incantation. "Lecaria Nexmortun Rylium!"
He shot a rainbow stream into the fireplace, which grew to the size of a mansion grand fireplace. It was the same size as the grand fireplace in his mansion's main living room.
Rita grinned widely. "Thank you, J.D.! This is incredible! It's absolutely breathtaking."
"You're welcome, Ms. Rita," J.D. remarked.
"This is a beautiful fireplace," Ed commented.
"It's an exact replica of my grand fireplace in my dad's study," J.D. explained.
"It's amazing," Rita exclaimed.
Luan appears, holding a holy berry. "What's that, Mom? I can holly hear you!" She chuckled and clicked her remote. "That's four!"
The counter reads four.
J.D. and Ed both laughed.
"Good one, Luan," J.D. remarked.
"Funny!" agreed Ed.
"Very funny," Lily commented.
"Lily, are you stocking me?" Luan asks as she picks up her yellow stocking. After the screen pans to Lincoln, she chuckles and clicks her remote. "That's five!"
The counter reads 5
Laney approaches, still debating her gift, while Crysta flies by. "Maybe I can get a new canvas? Hmm..."
Laney joins J.D. and Lincoln as they turn around a corner to see Lynn lifting a dresser and Lucy looking underneath.
"See anything?" Lynn asked.
"Nope," Lucy replied.
Lynn sets the dresser down and winds her arm.
"Are they looking for gifts, too?" Laney wondered.
J.D. remarked, "Looks like it."
"Mom and dad's gifts specifically," Lincoln remarked. "Have you looked in Dad's underwear drawer?" he asked them in a low voice.
"Have we checked Dad's underwear drawer?" Lynn asked sarcastically as she walked away.
Lucy rolled her eyes. "Lincoln, please. This is not our first rodeo."
"I can tell you want gifts from your mom and dad, Lynn, Lucy," J.D. remarked.
"Yep," Lynn agreed.
"At least you guys don't have trouble finding gifts," Laney commented. She smells something from the kitchen. "Mmm. What's that smell?"
"It smells good," says J.D. after taking a whiff.
Laney, Lincoln, and J.D. enter the kitchen and wonder what the smell is. They witnessed Lynn Sr., Linka, Double D, Gabrielle, Anastasia, and Anastasia cooking in the kitchen.
Lynn Sr. was singing. "Dashing to the stove..." He stopped singing once he saw them. "Hey J.D., kids! You're just in time to try the Crown Jewel of Ol' Dad's Christmas Eve "feast..." He opened the pot and smoke came out all over the kitchen...The Figgy Pudding!"
Smoke pours in through the window.
"It looks delicious, Mr. Lynn," J.D. said, "but I'd rather wait until dinner."
Lincoln chuckled. "And ruin the surprise at dinner? I don't think so!"
Laney was coughing. "I think it may be a bit-" Lincoln covered her mouth before she could continue.
"Better than last year!" He nervously grins and then whispers to Laney, "He's very emotional when it comes to Christmas cooking."
"Oh, sorry," Laney mumbles.
"Here, guys. Try some of my blintzes. Romanov recipe" Anastasia arrives with a plate of cream cheese and jelly blintzes.
J.D.'s eyes lit up. "Ooh. I haven't had blintzes in a while."He tried one and it was delicious. "Vkusno."
"Spasibo," Anastasia replied.
"Pozhaluysta," J.D. responded.
"I didn't know you learned how to speak Russian J.D.," Linka said, amazed.
"Johann has been teaching me how to speak Russian," J.D. explained. "It's a difficult language, but he's an excellent teacher."
Linka smiled and nodded. "I believe it. I'm making an Indian Allahabadi cake. It's an Indian Christmas Rum fruit cake. Varya taught me how to make Indian food for various holidays."
Lincoln said, "That looks really tasty, Linka."
Linka also has a large pot next to her. "I'm also making Louisiana Shrimp and Crayfish Gumbo."
Laney's eyes lit up. "Oh, boy! I love Louisiana food."
Linka dips a spoon in the pot before handing it to Laney. "Try some."
Laney slurps it, licks her lips, and loves it. "Yummy. Spicy and delicious."
Linka smiled. "Thank you, Laney. I want to be a chef like my dad, and he has been teaching me. So I volunteered to help him with our dinner."
"That's awesome," J.D. said. He notices Naruto cooking a large pot of ramen with Teuchi and Ayame nearby. "Hey, little brother, Teuchi, Ayame."
"Hey, J.D.," Naruto said.
"Hey, J.D.," Teuchi said. "Naruto called us over to cook dinner for you all."
"We were honored to help," Ayame stated.
"I see that," J.D. remarked. "We definitely have an international flair this year, don't we?"
"We certainly do," Edd agreed. "I also think it's great to share different foods at Christmas dinner."
"It sure is Double D," Lynn Sr. agreed.
When a teapot begins to whistle, Gabrielle removes it, pours a few cups of tea, and then brings one over to J.D.
With a British accent, Gabrielle says, "Here J.D. It's Darjeeling Tea."
J.D.'s eyes widened. "Oh. Very strong British tea. I haven't had this in quite some time." He extended his pinky and took a sip, and it was delicious. "Good tea, Gabrielle. Jolly Good," he said with a British accent.
"Thank you, J.D., darling," Gabrielle replied.
"Everyone is loving Christmas, huh?" Lynn Sr. asked.
"You said it, Mr. Lynn," J.D. agreed.
"Look at Dad getting figgy with it!" Luan chuckles and clicks her remote. "Number six!"
The counter reads 6.
"Good one," J.D. says, laughing.
Lynn Sr. was smiling. "Ah, I love the 12 Puns of Christmas. Luan, you wanna try my pudding?"
"Sorry, Dad," Luan apologized. "Yule have to ask someone else. Get it? Yule? That's seven!"
"We just sleigh ourselves!" Eddy joked. "Ooh, eight!" Luan clicked her remote twice.
The counter goes up to 7 and then to 8 as they laugh.
"Sleigh!" yelled Lynn Sr.
J.D., Naruto, Eddy, Anastasia, Linka, and Gabrielle laughed.
"That was funny," J.D. remarked.
Lincoln said to the viewers, "Yup. Everyone around here is full of Christmas cheer".
"LOUDS! What's that awful stench?" yelled Mr. Grouse from down the street.
"Well, everyone except our crabby old neighbor, Mr. Grouse," Lincoln explained. "He truly lives up to his name. Especially Christmas."
"Your former Next-Door Neighbor?" J.D. asked.
"Yep," Lincoln replied. "He is crabby every time."
"Don't say that, guys," Laney told them. "No one can be that grumpy during the holidays."
"LOUDS!" Mr. Grouse yelled. "Turn down that annoying music! LOUDS! Shut off all those horrible lights!"
"You were saying?" Lincoln asked, annoyed.
"What's wrong with your neighbor?" Crysta asks Laney.
Laney shook her head. "I don't really know, Crysta. I think he just doesn't like us for some reason."
Lincoln shook his head. "Sheesh." He walked outside. "Well, I'm not going to let Mr. Grouse take away our Christmas cheer. We've got a week off school, ten inches of fresh snow, and this guy!" He is now referring to a snow sled. "The Fearsome Flyer 8000! Or as I affectionately call him, "Big Red".
"Right on," J.D. yelled. "And neither do I."
Lincoln nodded. "Yep. We've been waiting all winter for the perfect sledding conditions. So if you'll excuse us..." He runs away screaming, but he gets caught in a net.
"Lincoln!" J.D. yelled.
"Woo-hoo!" yelled Lana. "My reindeer-net worked! Sorry, Lincoln. I'm just getting ready for tonight." She frees her brother from the net. "I'm going to catch one to keep as a pet!"
"I hope you succeed, Lana," J.D. wished.
Car tires screech, followed by a crash and a blaring horn.
"Woo-hoo!" yelled Lana. My reindeer pit worked! Uh, don't worry, buddy! "I got a winch!" She runs off to the car with her winch.
Later, Laney can be seen once more attempting to write her letter to Santa in the living room. "Maybe I should try for a more chill approach." She started writing. "Hey, Santa. What's up? How's the wife doin'? Oh!" She crumples the paper and throws it away. "That will never work." Just then, Lynn and Lucy entered the room.
"We need the sofa," Lucy explained. Lynn picks Laney up and moves her away from the sofa. Lynn and Lucy start looking under the cushions. Lynn lifts the couch to see if there are any presents under it. "No presents for us under here."
"Still trying to find mom and dad's presents, huh?" Laney asked.
"Yeah," Lynn agreed, dropping the sofa. "And we still can't find anything!"
"We could look in the basement," Lucy suggested. "How do you feel about lifting the water heater?"
"Let's do this!" Lynn says, tightening her belt.
Varie enters and sits down next to Laney as Lynn and Lucy leave.
"Hey Laney," Varie greeted.
"Oh hey, Varie," Laney greeted her. "Did you just get done helping J.D.'s parents with the Christmas dinner?"
"Yep," Varie replied. "They're still working on it, but Sakura, Hinata, and Fu have decided to take over for me. Are you writing a Christmas letter to Santa?"
"Yep," Laney sighed. "But it's so hard. I don't even know what I want."
"I know it's tough. But you'll come up with something," Varie assured her.
Lori appears as the Waltz of the Sugar Plum Fairy begins to play. She tiptoes to the row of stockings and pulls a yellow and red present from her mother's pink stocking. She sniffs it and sighs contentedly. Laney begins to suspect something.
"Uh, Lori? What are you doing with that present?" Laney asked.
"Uh..." She hides the present behind her back. "Nothing."
Laney narrowed her eyes. "Hmm..." Then she slowly walked away.
"I don't think Mom would mind if I just peeled back the corner a little," Lori says, tugging on the ribbon.
"Hold it!" yelled Luan. "You are mistletoe-tally busted!" Lori's eyes narrow as Luan chuckles and clicks her remote. "That's nine!"
The counter now reads 9.
Varies laughs at Luan's pun.
"Ah-ha! I knew it! You're trying to get an early start on presents again, aren't you?" Laney asked.
"I can't help it," Lori said with a high-pitched sigh. "The sound of the paper tearing, the smell of the tape, the moment you stick the bow in your hair." She tackles Luan. "Gimme that!
Laney pulls her back. "Heel!"
"You have to kick this habit, Lori," Luan warned her. "We don't want a repeat of last year."
"Does this happen a lot with Lori?" Varie wondered.
"Lori is very impatient when Christmas comes around," Laney explained.
Lori's eyes widened as a flashback to the previous Christmas began: tearing sounds are heard as the Loud siblings, sans Lori, looked on. The angle shifts to reveal Lori, who is wearing several bows in her hair and is rocking in an unwrapped box. Many unwrapped presents can be seen in the background.
"You guys got some great stuff!" Lori laughed.
Flashback ends
"I wanted to unwrap that present," Laney explained. "You ruined the surprise."
Lori widened her eyes as she realized she had a problem. "You're right, Luan. I gotta fight this!"
"Well, there's no time like the present! Luan chuckles and presses her remote. That's ten."
The counter reads 10.
Varie laughs at Luan's pun. "That was funny Luan."
Lori returned the present to her mother's stocking. "I can be strong. I will not open another gift until Christmas morning."
"That's the spirit, Lori!" Laney exclaimed. "After all, how hard can it be?"
When the doorbell rings, Lori answers it.
"Delivery for Miss Lori Loud," said the short Delivery Man. He shoves a huge green and red present through the door.
Lori read the tag. "To Lori. "Please open immediately." She stops reading and groans. Universe, you are literally testing me." The Short Delivery Man walks away, but yells as he hears a crash. Lana steps outside as the letters fly away.
"Woo-hoo," yelled Lana. She runs over to see the Short Delivery Man trapped in a metal cage. "My reindeer cage works!"
Lori is now shoving her big present inside.
Laney announced, "Uh, I'm going to see what J.D. and Lincoln are doing." She walks over to the front door, grabs her coat, and walks out.
"I'll go with you," Varie said.
Lincoln and J.D. are playing in the snow outside, sledding, having snowball fights, making igloos, and skating on Lily's homemade Ice Rails.
Laney and Varie arrive and decide to join in the fun.
"LOUDS! STOP SPLASHING SNOW ON ME!" yelled Mr. Grouse.
J.D. apologized to Mr. Grouse. "Sorry, Mr. Grouse."
"Sorry is not good enough sometimes," Mr. Grouse retorted.
J.D. went over to Mr. Grouse's house to speak with him. "Mr. Grouse, why do you hate the Louds so much? We haven't done anything to you."
Mr. Grouse remarked, "You wouldn't understand J.D."
"What would I not understand?" J.D. asked, before realizing something. "Wait, a minute. You have a large family, just like us, and seeing us reminds you of them?"
Mr. Grouse realized he couldn't deny that what J.D. said was false and said, "Yes. That's right."
"Oh no," Laney cried.
"Is that all true, Mr. Grouse?" questioned Lincoln.
"Yes, Lincoln. It is," Mr. Grouse admitted.
"I'm sorry," J.D. apologized.
"PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!" Mr. Grouse commanded.
J.D. noticed that he wanted to be alone and said, "Come on guys, come on."
Back at the Knudson-Loud-Anderson House, everything was hectic.
Leni walks down the stairs wearing a tinsel-covered white dress. "Hey, guys! Forget what I was wearing before. This is the perfect Christmas outfit."
"Has anyone seen all my tinsel?" Rita asked from the dining room.
Leni shushes Lori and Luan.
Luan grinned widely. "Oooh! I'm gonna tell!"
"No, no, no!" Leni begged.
Luan pulls on the ribbon on Leni's dress. "Just ribbon ya!" She chuckles as Leni sighs and presses her remote. That's eleven! One more to go!"
The counter now reads 11.
"You can do it, Luan!" Eddy assured her.
Lola approached her mother in the dining room and was feigning kindness. "Oh, mother. You've done so much to make this glorious holiday perfect. Allow me to look for the tinsel and after I find it, I'll rub your tired, aching tootsies."
Rita pulled some paper dolls out of a box. "Thank you, Lola. That's very nice of you."
Lola gasped and faced skyward, shaking her fist. "Did you hear that, Santa? She said "nice"!"
Lisa walks in the background with her candy cane, speaking in a sing-song tone. "Wasting your time..."
Lola muttered to herself, "Lola, keep it together. She isn't worth it."
Luna was strumming her guitar and singing. " Merry Christmas, honey / If you don't have a gift, I'll gladly take money / I wrote it down on my Christmas list / If I don't get my prezzies, I'm gonna get- "
She gets cut off by Mr. Grouse. "LOUDS! KNOCK OFF THAT RACKET!" He leaves his house.
ACT 2
In the Loud House, Lisa is still reading her book, Lola is dusting and vacuuming, Luan is making popcorn strings, Lucy is speaking to spirits, and Lynn is watching with hope.
"Oh, Ghost of Christmas Past...reveal to us where the presents are hidden."
"What'd he say? What'd he say?" Lynn asked anxiously.
"You two definitely have the Christmas spirit!" Luan joked, and then chuckled and pressed her remote. "YES! That's Twelve! We did it!"
The counter now reads 12.
"All right Luan!" Eddy and Luan kissed.
Cliff avoids a bear trap set out by Lana.
Lori was going stir-crazy. "Can't take it any longer! MUST OPEN!" She rushes toward her present.
Lana lassoed her with the Christmas lights. "Whoa, girl!" and dragged her back.
Luna looked at them and said, "Guys, can you chill? I'm trying to write and I'm down to the wire!" She then became inspired. "Ooh! Maybe that's it!" She started playing and singing. "Down to the wire / Santa's on fire " She then groaned. "I'm never gonna get this!"
J.D., Varie, Lincoln, Laney, and Lily come inside.
"Guys!" yelled Lincoln.
Little does he realize a lot has happened since he was outside witnessing the insanity. Enter Leni, who has yet another new Christmas outfit.
"Okay, forget that old rag I was wearing before. This is the perfect Christmas outfit!"
Rita noticed something was amiss by the chimney. "What happened to the stockings? Seriously, why does everything keep disappearing?"
Leni shushes everyone again.
"Guys!" yelled Lincoln.
He still can't get their attention, and Lily emerges from one of Leni's stockings.
Enter their dad with the figgy pudding. "Hey hey hey! I need a taste tester for my figgy pudding!"
Lola spoke up. "I'll do it, Daddy! Your figgy pudding is always the highlight of my Christmas!" She is looking skyward desperately. "You're seeing this, right, Santa?"
Lisa was almost done with her candy cane. "Truly pathetic."
Her dad feeds some of the pudding to Lola.
Lola gave it a hard chew. "Mmm... figgy!"
Lincoln was finally fed up and yelled, "GUYS! WOULD YOU JUST STOP AND LISTEN TO US FOR A SECOND?!"
The girls come to a stop as they notice their brother, sisters, and friends.
"We were just in Mr. Grouse's house..." Lincoln began.
The girls begin to complain about their next-door neighbor.
"That big meanie?" Lola asked.
"He dresses, like, horribly!" Leni remarked.
"He's literally awful!" Lori exclaimed.
"Guys, please!" yelled Laney. "He's not all that bad."
"Well, he is, but we think we know why," Lincoln explained.
"Here's what we learned," Lily added.
Cut to an exterior shot of the house as time passed, then back inside with Lincoln finishing, explaining why Mr. Grouse is the way he is.
"... and then he told us to leave," Lincoln finished.
Hearing this, his sisters' hearts are tugged.
"That is literally so sad!" Lori cried.
"I can't believe he has a big family, too," Lana said somberly.
Heartbroken, Luan said, "And he can't be with them? That's awful!"
"I had no idea he had such a large family," Eddy added.
Gabrielle shook her head. "That is sad. I had no idea."
"Me neither," Linka responded.
"I don't think any of us knew about this," Edd admitted.
"Seeing all of us together must make him miss them even more," Leni observed.
"I know," Shannon admitted.
"That's sad, guys," Ed commented.
"Usually, I'm impervious to human emotions," Lisa explained, "but..." She burst into tears and sobs over the news. Laney comforts her.
"No wonder he's such a grumpy butt this time of year," Lola remorsefully said.
"How did we not notice this?" Luan wondered.
Lori pushes her present aside. "Maybe because we've been so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays."
"Yeah," Lynn agreed. "We were so worried about what we were getting."
Lucy blows out her candles. "When we should have been worried about what we were giving."
"And isn't that what Christmas is all about?" Lola asked.
"Exactly!" Laney exclaimed. "Someone needs to show him that you don't need presents to have a holiday."
Luna gasped with inspiration. "Dudes! That's it! No wonder I couldn't nail my song! I've been going about it all wrong!" She goes upstairs to write it.
"We need to do something for Mr. Grouse," Lincoln pointed out.
"I agree," J.D. said.
"All in favor?" Laney asked.
Sisters responded, "Yes!"
"Let's do it!" Lily exclaimed.
"But what can we do?" Lori wondered.
"I have a plan!" Lincoln declared. He joins them in their huddle. "All right, the first thing we do..."
When the plan was revealed, J.D. rushed to see his mom and dad. Tell everything to his cousins Ciera, Lauren, and Nick, as well as his aunt Mikki, aunt Cheryl, uncle Tony, and aunt Ginger. He told Riley and her parents, the Teen Titans, Jessie, Aylene and her family, the Casagrande's and Santiago's Woody, and everyone in the Leaf of their plan, and they prepared.
Later that night, Mr. Grouse was sleeping on his lounger when he was awakened by a mysterious sound.
Some voices were singing, " Ooooooooh "
Mr. Grouse was waking up. "Huh? Who? What? I can't get a moment's peace." He turns on the light and goes outside to see something that surprises him.
The Knudson's, Andersons, McBrides, Leaf Shinobi, the Eds and Sarah, the Teen Titans, the Santiagos and CasaGrandes, and everyone else is caroling in front of his house.
Everyone: " Ooooooooh "
Luna:
" I used to think that Christmas was
About the wish list filled with stuff
I never really needed it, anyway "
Lori presses a button, illuminating Mr. Grouse's house and yard with decorations.
Luna:
" But as long as we're together
It's a holiday "
As Luna begins strumming her guitar, everyone joins in.
Everyone:
" It's not what you get, it's what you give
We've got the spirit, clear and loud
Ditch the list, hug who you're with
'Cause, that's what Christmas is all about!
It's what you give, not what you get
We've got the hard part figured out
This year will be the best one yet
'Cause, that's what Christmas is all about!
Merry Christmas from the Louds!
HO!"
Mr. Grouse is still surprised by their carol singing.
"Merry Christmas, Mr. Grouse," Lincoln wished.
"We all heard about what happened," Terra said.
"So we all chipped in and got you something," Lana explained.
Lincoln hands him the gift, which Mr. Grouse opens.
"It's a bus ticket," Lynn explained.
"So you can see your family for Christmas tomorrow," Luan added.
"And since you can't be with them tonight, we're bringing our family to you," Rita added.
"How about it, neighbor?" Lynn Sr. asked.
"How about it, friend?" J.D. asked.
Everyone smiles as they huddle together.
"EVERYONE," declared Mr. Grouse sternly. He expresses gratitude, "You've made this the best Christmas ever. Thank you. I'd say you all landed permanent spots on Santa's nice list."
"Even me?" smiles Lola.
"Even you," Mr. Grouse added.
"Think nothing of it, Mr. Grouse," J.D. advised.
Lola runs up and wraps her arms around Mr. Grouse's leg.
Lisa bursts into tears and sobs once more, saying, "Once again..."
Lisa is consoled by J.D.
Mr. Grouse gave everyone a warm smile. "Well, what are you waiting for? Everyone inside!"
The twins are setting the table for Christmas dinner inside Mr. Grouse's home while We Wish You a Merry Christmas played in the background. Lily flew up and placed the star atop the tree, and everyone was doing their part to make the house look festive.
"There, Mr. Grouse," said Luan. "Now it's not so gloomy in here."
"Yeah, you ruined it," Lucy admitted.
"Guys, I finally made the perfect Christmas outfit!" Leni exclaimed.
Everyone looks at the outfit and wonders why it isn't Christmas-themed.
"Not very Christmas-y, don't you think?" Laney commented.
Leni shook her head. "It's not for me. This is for Mr. Grouse. You can wear it on your trip tomorrow." She puts it on him.
"Well, thank you," Mr. Grouse replied. After that, he notices something. "What happened to my curtains?"
Leni hushes him.
"Chow time in five minutes, people!" said Lynn Sr.
"Before we sit down, there's something I'd like to say," Mr. Grouse stated.
Lynn started chanting, "Speech! Speech! Speech!"
Lori nudges her to stop.
"Well, I know I haven't always been the friendliest neighbor, and I'm sorry about that," Mr. Grouse said. "You've all given me so much tonight; now I'd like to give something back to you."
"We take checks," Lola joked.
Lori nudges her for making that statement. Mr. Grouse opened his closet and showed everything that landed in his yard that he claimed as his own.
"ALL OUR STUFF!" the Loud Sisters exclaim in shock.
They all gather to get their stuff back with cheers.
"PLUNGEY!" yelled Lana, while holding up her plunger.
"Wow," remarked J.D. "That's a lot of stuff Mr. Grouse had taken before we all merged houses."
"You said it, J.D.," Starfire said.
Howard was overjoyed. "Oh, Hare-Bear. Isn't this the most wonderful thing you've ever seen?"
Harold gave his husband a stern look. "Now, Howie, remember what Dr. Lopez said about-" He shakes it off. "Oh, forget Dr. Lopez! This is the most wonderful thing I've ever seen!"
Both of Clyde's dads walk away sobbing with joy. Lori walks up to Clyde.
"Clyde, you know what you're standing under, don't you?" Lori asks, pointing to mistletoe.
Clyde becomes aware of this and begins to shake. Lori gives him a kiss on the cheek.
"Merry Christmas, Clyde," Lori said with a smile.
Clyde was blushing and love-struck. "And to all a good night." He then fainted.
"Come on, everybody, sit!" exclaimed Lynn Sr. "Dinner is served! And save some room for the figgy pudding!"
Everyone rushes over to the table for dinner.
December 25th, Christmas morning
"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" said the Loud Family as they opened their gifts.

J.D. was grinning. "Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas everyone!"
"Merry Christmas guys!" the Louds said.
"I got you guys something," J.D. said.
"You did?" Lincoln and the girls asked.
"Yeah, for you, Lincoln, I made you a comic book," J.D. said.
"Oh really? What's it about?" Lincoln asked.
"It's about all of us and how we went on great adventures all over the world," J.D. explained. "Fighting numerous bad guys and more. Read the back. There is a special dedication."
Lincoln read the dedication on the back. "This book is dedicated to a great man, Lincoln Loud. A great, kind-hearted, intelligent, happy-go-lucky man of lightning who keeps his cool and has a plan for every situation and my true best friend." Lincoln's eyes tear up and he hugs J.D. "Thank you, J.D."
"You're welcome, buddy," J.D. said.
Ronnie Anne approached Lincoln. "Lame-o this is from me," and she kissed him.
"AAAAWWWWWWW!" exclaimed everyone.
"That's so adorable," J.D. said. "For you, Lori, I made you a picture."
Lori gasps as she opens the package. It was a picture of Lori and Bobby flying, and Ronnie Anne hugged her and held on tight. "Aaaaawwww! " Lori and Bobby, Husband and Wife, and Loving Family: "Thank you, J.D. I'll treasure it forever!" Lori leaned in and kissed J.D. on the cheek.
"You're welcome, Lori," J.D. said. "Leni, I made you a beautiful winter dress."
Leni gasps as she opens the package. It was a Sea Foam Green Russian Style Fur Coat. "Thank you so much, J.D." She also kissed him on the cheek.
"You're welcome," J.D. said. "Luna, this is for you."
When Luna opens her gift, it is a CD. "A CD?"
"Listen and you'll see," J.D. told her.
When Luna inserted the CD, Mick Swagger was on it.
"I'd like to dedicate this song to my Number 1 fan Luna Loud," Mick Swagger said in a British accent, "and here to help me sing it is J.D. Knudson."
Merry Christmas, Luna Loud, said J.D. "YEAH!"
Mick: [Singing]
It was a hot June night when she saw the light.
J.D.: [Singing in British Accent]
Up until then, she didn't know what was right.
Mick:
She showed up at the show, all confused and alone.
J.D:
She had no idea what was about to unfold.
J.D. and Mick:
TRANSFORMATION / TRANSFORMATION.
Mick:
A Citizen of the Rock and Roll Nation.
J.D. and Mick:
TRANSFORMATION / TOTAL MUTATION.
They all cheered two minutes later, and Luna was in tears as she hugged him.
Luna was smiling. "Thank you, dude. You are awesome."
"On December 22nd, I went to a Mick Swagger concert and told Mick it was for you," J.D. explained. "I sent copies to all your friends. It was incredible to attend a Mick Swagger concert."
J.D. and Luna performed the Rock on Hand Sign.
"For Luan, I made you a joke book," J.D. said. "I put in every joke I know. You can use them for your next gig."
"Thanks, J.D.," Luan said before giving him a hug.
"I have something for Luan as well," Eddy added. He approaches Luan and hands her a rose. "I also have a poem for you. Lucy helped me make it. I call it the Prank Shop Angel. You're as funny as clowns at the fair, but your jokes lift me higher than the air. You're an angelic light shining in the prank shop of love, and I'll always treasure you, my funny little turtle dove."
"AAAAWWWW!" exclaimed everyone.
"Eddy, I love you!" Luan leaps into Eddy's arms and passionately kisses him.
J.D. sniffs and wipes a tear away. "That was beautiful."
"Robin, that was so romantic," Starfire commented.
"It sure was," Robin replied.
"That was really beautiful," Kole said.
"For you Lynn," J.D. said as he handed her the present, which she opened with a gasp.
"Wow! It's a bunch of golf balls! They're the only balls I don't have."
"Those are some extra golf balls I've had in my golf bag for a while," J.D. explained. "I found those years ago and thought you might like them."
"Thanks, buddy!" Lynn gave him a big hug.
"Don't mention it," J.D. said, squished.
She lets go of him.
"Gabrielle, this is for you," J.D. said.
Gabrielle gasped as she opened the package. "It's a music box." It was shaped like the planet Earth. She turns it on, and it shows Terra, Lynn, and Gabrielle in a crystal cave, moving around different areas, while playing Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" from "Titanic."
"That's so cool!" Terra exclaimed.
"That is beautiful," Lynn said.
"I love it!" exclaimed Gabrielle.
"I made that myself in woodshop before Christmas break at school," J.D. explained. "It took me 7 days to make it. The idea came to me when Terra and Lynn were in Journey to the Center of the Earth."
Gabrielle hugged him. "Thank you, J.D."
"You're welcome. Shannon, I've got this for you." He hands Shannon a large package, which she opens with a gasp.
"It's a punching bag with a picture of the Black Daffodil Gang on it," Shannon said.
"I put that on there so you can vent your frustration on your old gang," J.D. explained. "Think of it as a stress reliever."
Shannon grinned. "Cool! Thanks, J.D."
"You're welcome," J.D. said. "Linka, this is for you. But it's outside."
They all went outside, and Linka noticed a tesla ball. "Oh, I see what I have to do."
She placed her hands on the ball and channeled Lightning into it, causing fireworks to erupt and spell out a message in the sky. It said, "Merry Christmas Linka from J.D. and Double D."
"Me and Double D planned this all out for you," J.D. explained.
"It was mostly my idea, Linka," Edd said. "I wanted to tell you that I made this gift all from my heart."
"Oh, Double D, I love you!" Linka and Double D kissed.
"AAAAAAWWWWWWW!" exclaimed everyone.
Back inside, J.D. resumed his gifts for everyone.
"Lucy, I have something for you," J.D. said.
When Lucy opened his gift, it was a spellbook on Dark Magic. "Gasp. It's a spellbook."
J.D. nodded. "Yep. I found that one and figured you might like it. I also have a poem written for you. Ahem. I call it: "Lucy the Dark Angel. You're as Dark as night, and have hair like tar. And sometimes we may forget where you are. You're an angel of darkness that killed Reverend Kane and some people may find that you are insane. But you are you. You are the only one who knows how to turn dark things into fun. So here's a poem for my very best friend. Who I will continue to root for and support until the end. Evil spirits better watch out for Lucy Loud the Dark Angel is out and about."
Lucy ran up to him, tears in her eyes, and hugged him. "Thank you, second brother."
"Anytime, my Angel of Darkness," J.D. replied. "I've also brought someone to see you."
The door opened and in came Silas.
"Silas," Lucy said, surprised.
"Merry Christmas, Lucy. I brought this for you." Silas brought in a handcrafted coffin.
"I helped Silas build that coffin for you," J.D. explained. "It's made of mahogany and walnut wood, and look on the side there, I added something special."
Lucy and Silas noticed a piece of duct tape covering up something. When they took it off, it was a skull with a black heart in the center of its forehead and the words "Lucy and Silas forever in darkness and love" in white letters.
"Thank you," J.D., Silas replied. "If I had a heart, it would die with joy."
"Same here," Lucy remarked.
"You both are welcome," J.D. said. "I made this for Laney."
Laney opens the package to reveal a painting of all of them standing underneath the beauty of the Aurora Australis curtains over Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Chile. "J.D., this is beautiful!"
"I drew that in art class, and I started it on November 5th and finished it on December 18th," J.D. explained. "I call it "Family in Patagonian Beauty."
"Thank you, J.D." Laney hugs him, and he hugs her back.
"You're welcome," J.D. said. "Now for the twins. I made something for each of you. Lana, here's yours."
Lana opened her present to find a picture of an ice castle in an ice cave. Lana is with Elsa from 2013's "Frozen," and they are using their ice powers to fight an evil army of Snow Demons.
"This is awesome!" exclaimed Lana. "I look amazing with Elsa!"
"I figured you and Elsa would be perfect," J.D. explained. "I created that image on the computer. Those snow demons you're fighting are Netherworld monsters. On the bottom left, there is a message."
Lana read it. "Lana, you are the strongest handyman I've ever known, and you definitely can get the job done. Your love for animals is as strong as your heart. The cold will never bother you as long as you believe in yourself. My little Handyman of Ice." This is awesome!" She hugged him. "Thanks, J.D."
"You're welcome," J.D. said. "And now for Lola."
Lola notices that it is a picture of her with Rapunzel from "Tangled" from 2010, and they are fighting Gothel in a Volcano field, with Lola using fire powers and Rapunzel using a frying pan during the fight. "I look great fighting Rapunzel! Princesses vs. Evil Villains"
"There's a message on the bottom right," J.D. explained.
Lola read it. "Lola, you are an awesome princess and beauty pageant hero. Keep winning all those beauty pageants and make all your friends and family proud and your tea parties will forever be awesome. My little Princess of Fire." Lola hugged him. "Thank you, J.D."
"You're welcome, Lola," J.D. said. "Here's your present, Penny."
Penny opened her gift and she gasped. "A friend for Teddy!" It was a grey teddy bear that had been hand-sewed.
"I made it myself," remarked J.D. "Teddy seemed lonely, so I decided to make him a friend."
"Thank you, J.D., and Teddy thanks you as well," Penny said.
"You're both welcome, Penny," J.D. said. "Take a look at his left arm."
Penny saw a diamond and two mice under it and a message saying "Merry Christmas Penny from the Rescue Aid Society." "I love it. Thank you." She hugged him.
"You're welcome, Penny," J.D. said. He saw Bernard and Ms. Bianca through a hole in the wall and winked at them. "This one's for you, Lisa."
Lisa opened a small package to find a ceramic trophy and a 14-karat gold class ring with the Michigan State University insignia and an emerald stone inside.
"And the award for the Smartest Person I know goes to Lisa Loud," Lisa said.
"I made that trophy in Ceramics Class, and I bought that Class ring for you," J.D. explained. "Your fingers are too small right now, but you'll grow into it."
Lisa says, "Once again..." and bursts into tears and sobs, and J.D. comforts her.
"Let it out, Lisa. Let it all out."
Lisa calms down. "Thank you, 2nd big brother unit."
"You're welcome, my little scientist," J.D. said. "Last but not least, Lily. I have this for you."
Lily opened a small package and found a ring with Gamora's symbol on it.
"That's a very special ring, Lily," J.D. said. "It's a backup call ring."
"It's used to call me."
Gamora from the Guardians of the Galaxy emerged from the shadows.
"Oh, my gosh!" exclaimed Lincoln. "Gamora, the Most Dangerous Woman in the Universe!"
"Wow!" exclaimed Lily. "You're my favorite Superhero!"
"I'm glad I have some fans," Gamora said. "Lily, you can now call me if you get into a jam. But only when the situation calls for it. Just raise the ring to the sky and I'll appear."
"I will, Gamora. I promise." When Lily places the ring on her right ring finger, Gamora vanishes.
"So the Marvel Superheroes are real?" Raven asked.
"Yep," J.D. replied. "I found that ring years ago."
Lily got up and hugged him. "Thank you, J.D."
"You're welcome, kiddo," J.D. remarked.
Everyone had some gifts to give.
"Well, that's all the Christmas presents," Rita stated. "It's time to start decorating for Valentine's Day!"
"Wait!" yelled Lori. "I've got one more!" She showed them the giant present she's been waiting to open. "I saved the best for last!" She gave it a shake.
"Ow!" exclaimed the present.
Everyone looked around awkwardly, wondering what caused that noise. Lori opens it and discovers it to be her boyfriend.
"Merry Christmas, Babe..." Bobby said tiredly.
"Boo-Boo Bear?" gasped Lori.
"I couldn't find anything good enough to buy you for our first Christmas together, so I decided to give you myself," Bobby explained.
Lori smiled. "Ah. That's literally the perfect gift." She hugged him. "Oh, I got you a present, too."
"I hope it's food and water," Bobby expressed his hope.
"Come on, Bobby, I'll heal you up," Varie said.
"Thank you, Varie," Bobby replied.
Varie leads Bobby to the couch, where Lori sits beside him. Varie runs to the kitchen, where she pulls out a warm turkey leg and some water.
"Here Bobby," Varie said, handing him some food and water.
Bobby said, "Thank you, Varie," and then he began to eat.
"Wait!" yelled Laney. "There's something in my stocking!" She reaches into her stocking and pulls out a letter, which she then reads. "Dear Laney, I've been hearing about what's been going on with you and your family. And I'm very impressed. What you did was a very nice deed. And I'd like to thank you for believing in me. I guess there's still a little holiday magic in your home. Even when I'm not there. Never stop believing in yourself. - Santa Claus"
This letter left them in awe.
"Wow, Laney," Lincoln exclaimed. "You've received a letter from Santa!"
"Not a letter, Lincoln," Laney replied. "A reply! I wrote him a letter telling him what we did for Mr. Grouse! And by the looks of it, he's very happy!"
"Indeed, Santa was very good to us this year," Lisa said.
"SANTA?" cried the Louds.
"Whatever happened to there is no such thing as Santa?" Laney wondered.
"Yeah," Lola agreed. "I thought you didn't believe in him."
"I didn't until I saw him leaving a present behind the couch last night," Lisa explained. She shows a picture of what appears to be Santa Claus, labeled "SANTICUS CLAUSIMUS." "Behold!"
Everyone gasps at the photo.
"Wow!" exclaimed Laney. "It really was Santa. He really wrote the letter!"
"He sure did," J.D. responded.
"By the way, J.D., how did you meet Santa?" Laney asked.
"That was an adventure I will never forget," J.D. said. "It was exactly 8 years ago today. At midnight, I was standing outside when I saw the legendary Polar Express arrive. The Polar Express is a train ride to the North Pole for kids to meet Santa. I was one of the lucky ones to meet him. I still have my ticket." He took out a golden ticket with some marks on it, and it was a ticket for the Polar Express.
"Whoa!" exclaimed everyone.
"So the Polar Express is real?" Lori wondered.
"It sure is," J.D. replied.
"That's incredible!" Lincoln exclaimed.
"I agree," Jessie said. "A train to the North Pole sounds like fun."
"I think it's really cool," Aylene stated.
"Same here," Jeri replied. "I read the book The Polar Express, and it was fantastic."
"That does sound awesome bro," Beast Boy said.
"Yeah, it does," Cyborg responded.
"Trust me," J.D. said. "It was. This has been the best Christmas for all of us, and the best part is that I got to share it with Varie and my very best friends. Merry Christmas to all!"
Everyone hugged him. "Merry Christmas, J.D!"
In a snowy field, the end credits play an instrumental version of That's What Christmas Is All About.
THE END
