It begins with J.D. and Laney watching TV. Laney became ill with a cold, and J.D. was tasked with looking after her while she recovered.
Laney muttered, coughing, "I can't believe I'm sick."
"I know Laney," J.D. replied. "It's not fun. I've never been sick in my life and am as healthy as an ox."
"I know," Laney answered, sneezing.
J.D. handed her a box of tissues, and she blew her nose.
"Thank you, J.D.," Laney replied.
"You're welcome," J.D. remarked, before noticing something outside the window. It was Lincoln, and Lana was with him.
"Hey, Lincoln's back early," J.D. noted.
Laney asked, "I wonder why."
J.D. sees a shocking sight. All over Lincoln's body are ugly red spots.
J.D. gasped. "Uh-Oh! He has got chickenpox!"
"Oh man!" coughed Laney. "I've heard it's been going around lately."
Lana and Lincoln walked in after Lana opened the door.
"Let's get you to bed, big brother," Lana urged.
"Thank you, Lana," Lincoln said as he scratched his chicken pox. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
"Don't scratch it, Lincoln," Lana cautioned. "I know it hurts, but you can't scratch it."
"Boy, Lincoln, how did you catch the Chickenpox?" J.D. asked.
"Someone in Lisa's class had it and sneezed on me in the hallway," Lincoln explained.
"That's gross," Laney remarked.
"I got a chickenpox vaccine when I was 12, and I'm immune," J.D. explained. He walked over to Lincoln. "Let's get you into bed."
"All right," Lincoln replied.
"Lana, how come you don't have chickenpox?" J.D. asked.
Lana explained, "I got the Chickenpox Shot when I was five."
"That's good," J.D. said. "You're immune too."
They opened Lincoln's door, took him in, and put him into his bed. Lana grabbed the medical supplies as well as the temperature scanner. Lana scanned Lincoln.
"102 degrees," Lana reported. "He has to stay in bed."
J.D. put gloves on him to keep him from scratching.
"Lincoln, I'm going to put this sign up on your door, okay?" asked J.D.
Lincoln reads the sign, "Quarantine. Do not enter. Chickenpox. Okay, J.D."
"If you hear banging, that's me nailing this sign to your door," J.D. explained.
"OK," Lincoln replied. "Ow!"
"I know it hurts, but you can't scratch it," Lana explained.
J.D. handed Lincoln a remote. "Lincoln, this is a remote call. If you need anything, simply press this button and one of us will come."
"Thanks, J.D.," Lincoln said.
"You're welcome," J.D. said.
J.D. and Lana leave, and J.D. closes the door and nails the sign to it. "There. Okay, I'd better call Lori, Ms. Rita and Mr. Lynn."
They enter the Living Room, and J.D. dials a number on the phone.
It rings, and someone answers. It was Lori.
"Hello?" answered Lori.
"Hey Lori," J.D. said. "I'm sorry for calling during class, but Lincoln has chickenpox."
"He does!?" cried Lori.
"Yeah," J.D. confirmed. "Lana brought him home."
"It's good she did," Lori added. "Put Lana on."
J.D. handed Lana the phone. "Hey, big sis."
Lori said, "How is Lincoln?"
"Someone in Lisa's class had Chickenpox and sneezed on Lincoln, and now he has it," Lana explained. "I brought him home, and J.D. and I put him in his room."
"Thank you for telling me," Lori replied. "We'll be right over." She then hangs up.
"Lori is on her way and she's bringing everyone," Lana announced.
"Okay," J.D. replied. "Thanks, Lana."
Royal Woods High School
Varie, Lori, Carol, Leni, Luna, Sam, Gabrielle, Jessie, Luan, Starfire, Raven, Terra, Volcana, and Argent gathered their belongings.
"Mrs. Harrington?" Lori called out. "I'm sorry, but our little brother has chickenpox, and we need to go take care of him."
"Oh no," answered Mrs. Harrington. "Well, I hope Lincoln gets better."
"Thank you," Lori expressed gratitude.
"See you tomorrow," Leni added.
"See you dudes," Luna said.
"See you guys," Dana replied. "I hope Lincoln gets better soon."
"I know he will, Dana," Lori assured her.
"I'll see you later, babe," Bobby responded.
"Bye, Boo-Boo-Bear," Lori replied.
"I hope friend Lincoln is okay," Starfire said.
"He is Star," Raven explained. "It's chicken pox. It is caused by a virus that makes you itchy and weak."
"It's not pleasant," Terra stated.
"I've seen it, and it's not pretty," Varie added. "You itch like crazy, and it drives you insane."
"Yeah," Argent agreed. "It is very painful and unbearable."
"I've never been sick before, but I've heard that chickenpox isn't pleasant or fun," Volcana added.
"Isn't Lisa trying to cure it?" Jessie asked.
"She's trying to," Gabrielle replied in a British accent. "But I don't know everything about science like she does."
"This is a SICKENING sight!" Luan joked and then laughed. "Get it? But seriously. Chickenpox is not a pleasant thing. I hope Lincoln is all right, though."
"I've had it too, and it wasn't good," Carol admitted.
Rita was at the dentist's office assisting Dr. Feinstein with a patient when the phone rang.
"Can you get that for me, Rita?" requested Dr. Feinstein.
"Sure," Rita replied. She went over to answer the phone. "Hello?"
"Hello Ms. Rita," J.D. said. "Sorry to bother you while in the middle of cleaning the Pearly Whites." He then laughed at his own joke.
Rita laughed. "That's okay, J.D."
"Anyway," J.D. continued. "Lincoln caught the Chickenpox and Lana brought him home. Someone in Lisa's class had it, and he sneezed on Lincoln, who now has it."
"Uh-Oh!" cried Rita. "Thank you for telling me. I'll call Lynn and tell him, and we'll be on our way."
"Okay," J.D. said. "Lincoln is in his room, and it's quarantined."
"Thank you, J.D.," Rita replied.
"You're welcome, Ms. Rita," J.D. responded. "Bye." He then hangs up the phone.
30 minutes later.
Vanzilla 2.0 pulled up and Starfire, Raven, Terra, Argent and Volcana flew in and everyone went inside.
"So Lincoln got the chickenpox?" Lynn Sr. asked J.D.
"Yeah," J.D. confirmed. "He's in his room resting."
"Thank you for telling us," Lori remarked. "I'll go start an oatmeal bath for him."
"Are you going to cook him?" Leni asked.
Varie shook her head. "No, Leni. Oatmeal baths soothe the itching in Chickenpox."
J.D. nodded. "Yeah. They are very soothing. You'll also need these." He took out a remote control and pressed a green button on it. A hidden closet opens up, revealing hazmat suits for everyone.
"Good thinking," Rita observed. She then walks over to Laney. "How are you feeling, sweetie?"
"Still stuffy," Laney replied.
"I know," Rita said, "but it's just a cold."
"Since Lincoln has Chickenpox and I can't go into our room, can I stay with one of you guys until he gets better?" Linka asked.
"That's a good idea, Linka," J.D. replied. "But we'll have to vote on it."
"Linka can stay with me," Lana offered. "She likes my jungle room."
"Thanks Lana," Linka responded.
"Usually we would argue, but taking care of Lincoln is more important," Lori explained.
"Yeah," Lola agreed. "That is right. He is our big brother."
"Correct," Lisa replied. "Viral Varicella, Street Name: Chickenpox is a highly contagious illness, so we have to be careful. So we have to make sure that we don't spread it throughout the rest of us."
"I'm immune because I had the Chickenpox Vaccine," J.D. explained.
"Me too," Lana replied.
"I'm immune as well," Lynn added. "I got it when I was 12."
"I have a powerful immune system that renders me immune to all human diseases," Varie explained.
"Wow!" exclaimed J.D. "That is powerful!"
"Friend Raven, have you ever been sick?" Starfire asked.
Raven shook her head. "No, I have not. I'm actually half demon, and the only diseases that make me sick are those from the Netherworld."
"That's cool!" Terra exclaimed.
"That's neat," Argent remarked.
Over the course of seven days, they all take turns watching over and taking care of Lincoln.
The oatmeal baths really helped, and the aromatherapy oils added some nice scents along with relaxing, healing, and soothing properties.
On a Sunday morning, Lincoln awoke and noticed that he was clear in the mirror. "I'm all better! I'm cured."
Lincoln walks out of his room and is happy. He walks down to the kitchen and joins everyone for breakfast. "Hey, guys."
Everyone yelled "Lincoln/Linky"!
"I'm glad you're feeling better, buddy," J.D. commented.
"Thanks to all of you," Lincoln replied. "I feel like a million bucks."
"That's great," Varie praised.
"We're glad you're okay, brother," Lucy expressed her relief.
"Same here," Laney replied. "Chickenpox is no fun."
"By the way, Lisa, who was it who sneezed on Lincoln?" Aylene asked.
"It was my friend unit Cheryl Henderson," Lisa explained. "She's Chandler Henderson's younger sister."
"I've seen her before," J.D. pointed out. "She is the exact opposite of her brother."
"And she's one of my best friends," Laney added. "I may be seven years old and look like a ten-year-old girl, but she treats me like a big sister. She had a very strong dislike towards her brother for the way he was."
"I don't blame her," J.D. replied. "Chandler was a monster and a terrorist."
"Oh man," Lincoln cried. "I think it was an accident, and she did not mean to make me sick."
"Yeah," Varie agreed.
"She's six years old and very smart, just like Matilda and Laney," Lisa added.
"I believe it," J.D. replied. "But, once you've had Chickenpox, you'll never get it again."
"Affirmative," Lisa replied. "It's a once in your life disease."
"Well, that's a relief," Lincoln said. His phone beeps and Lincoln looks at it. "It's a text from Ronnie Anne. She wants to meet me at the arcade."
"Have fun, Lincoln," J.D. remarked. "I'm glad you're okay, buddy."
"Me too," Laney replied.
They are all in agreement.
"Thanks, guys," Lincoln replied.
THE END.
