The Rip Hardcore show is on, and he's leaping through the trees.
"Remember, Rippers, if you want to hunt down critters, use the four D's: Droppings, Disturbances, Dens, and Diet." He comes over to a clump of poop and smells it. "Mmm... emu droppings. And it's still warm. With a little luck and my tracking bandanna..." He puts on the bandanna. "... I'll be eating emu stew in no time." He howls.
It's revealed that J.D., Varie, Lincoln, Linka, and the younger sisters are watching it.
"Ew!" cried Lola. "Who is this poop-sniffing weirdo?"
"Rip Hardcore is not a weirdo, Lola," Lincoln clarified. "He happens to be the world's leading expert in wilderness survival." He holds up a book with a title like that. "And a pretty cool guy to boot."
"He's a great survivalist who knows all there is to know about survival," J.D. explained. "It was because of him that my family survived being stranded on a remote island six years ago."
"You and your family were stuck on a remote island?" Lana asked.
"Wow!" exclaimed Laney.
"Yep," J.D. confirmed. "We were on a cruise in Indonesia when a tsunami capsized our boat, trapping me, my mom, and my dad for seven weeks. It was a nightmare I never want to relive. It was thanks to everything I learned from Rip Hardcore that we survived."
"Wow!" gasped Linka. "That's incredible!"
"That's amazing!" Lincoln remarked.
"That's an adventure all by itself," Lily added.
"No kidding," Varie agreed.
"That sounded like an intense challenge," Lola commented.
"I'm glad you're all okay," Penny said.
"Me too," Anastasia replied.
"Thank you, guys," J.D. replied.
"Let's go, Lynn Jr.!" shouted Lynn Sr. "You're late for rugby!"
Lynn comes down the stairs dressed in her rugby gear. "Think fast, Dad!" She throws the ball at her dad. "AWOO!" She runs to the car.
"Lori, Carol, Leni, Luna, Gabrielle, Luan, hurry up!" Rita shouted. "The school Open House started five minutes ago! Ugh, these kids. Where are they?"
Vanzilla honks and it's revealed that the aforementioned daughters are already in; Lori waves to her mom.
"Oh, they're waiting for me," Rita realized.
"Thank you for helping Lincoln with the younger kids today, J.D.," Lynn Sr. commented. "You're really helping us in getting out of a jam."
"No problem, Mr. Lynn," J.D. responded. "I would help Lincoln in watch over everyone here as if they were my own."
"Me too," Varie added.
Rita looked at her watch. "We'll be back by 5:00. We are proud of you all for being so responsible."
The parents walk away, and a commercial plays a split second later.
"Hey there Rippers," Rip greeted them. "My Hardcore Mall Tour is coming to a mall near you. Today…"
"Saturday," said the robotic voiceover.
"...I'll be signing copies of my new survival guide at..." announced Rip.
"The Royal Woods Mall," said the robotic voiceover.
Lincoln gasped. "Rip is at the Royal Woods Mall today?"
"Awesome!" exclaimed J.D.
"I have to go get my book signed!" Lincoln insisted.
"Yeah, let's go," J.D. agreed.
"But Lincoln, we need to be here and you have to keep an eye on us," Laney pleaded.
"Don't worry, Lanes," Lincoln said. "If we get home by 5:00, they won't have to know." "Who wants to go to the mall?" he asked his younger sisters.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Laney admitted.
They're all waiting in line at the mall.
"Ugh," Lana grumbled. "Lincoln, this is lame. Can't we go do something fun?"
"Right after, we wait in this really short line to get Rip's autograph," Lincoln explained.
"Is the really short line at the end of this really long line?" Lucy wondered.
The line is very long.
"This line is REALLY long," J.D. commented.
"Maybe we can do something to pass the time," Laney suggested.
"Good thinking," Varie responded.
"How about we play a game?" Lincoln suggested. "I Spy. I'll go first. I spy..."
"Someone who is not keeping his sisters intellectually stimulated," Lisa added.
A tough guy laughed. "Burn."
"Shut up!" yelled J.D.
Lincoln is glaring at him.
"How about 20 questions?" Lincoln suggested. "Lola, you first. Person, place, or thing?"
"Person," Lola answered.
"Alive or dead?" Lincoln asks, covering his baby sister's ears.
Lola cast an observant glance toward her brother. "Alive...for now. But he's pushing his luck!"
"Lola!" cried Varie. "That's not nice."
"I'm sorry," Lola apologized.
"Okay," Lincoln replied. He pulls out his Yo-Yo. "...how about we take a trip around the world?" He twirls it around and slips it right on the tough guy's eye. "Oh. Sorry." He retrieves the Yo-Yo.
"Lincoln, you've tortured us long enough," Lucy remarked. "We're leaving."
The younger sisters, minus Lily, prepare to leave.
Lincoln stops them. "No, wait!"
"Flippees for sale!" shouted Flip. "Buy one, get a second for the same price!"
Laney shook her head. "Flip. "Why can't he ever learn?"
"Some people are like that," J.D. admitted.
Lincoln goes to the Flippee stand to grab some for his sisters.
"Okay..." He hands two to Lola and Lana. "...you two get raspberry..." He gives two to Lisa and Lily. "...you two get lime..." He gives one to Lucy. "...you get black grape..." He gives one to Laney. "You get cherry." He gives three to J.D., Varie, and Anastasia. "J.D. gets blue raspberry, Varie gets blueberry and Anastasia gets grape." He gave one to Linka. "You get orange." He gives one to the big guy. "...and a lemon Flippee for the good-natured gentleman behind us."
"Thank you, Lincoln," J.D. remarked. "Blue raspberry is my favorite."
"Blueberry is good," Varie replied.
The guy takes a sip, but…"This isn't lemon. It's banana."
"Well, who doesn't love bananas?" Lincoln quipped.
The tough guy breaks out in hives. "People who have banana allergies!"
"We're sorry we didn't know," J.D. apologized.
"Lincoln, you should've checked," Varie remarked.
"Sorry," Lincoln replied.
"Don't worry, sir," Laney assured him. She reaches into her backpack. "I think I have an EpiPen somewhere in here..." She finds three EpiPens. "Um. I don't think I have one for bananas... Sorry."
"I've got this, Laney," J.D. declared, chanting an incantation. "Vestiga Piyona Serrisa!"
Rainbow light burst from his hands, striking the tough guy and curing him.
"Hey, that was awesome!" shouted the tough guy. "I'm completely cured!" Thanks, kid."
"No problem, sir," J.D. responded.
"I finished my Flippee!" Lana shouted. "I need to pee."
"Me too," Lucy added.
"Me three!" declared Lola.
"Uh, I, too, need to see a man about a horse," Lisa admitted.
"Uh, Laney?" Lincoln asked. "Can you hold our spot?"
"Sorry, I can't," Laney replied. "I finished mine as well..."
Lincoln thought frantically. "Uh...um..." He said to the huge guy, "Can you hold our place while we go to the bathroom? Please?"
"Sure, kid," answered the tough guy. "No problem."
"Thanks," Lincoln replied. "Let's go."
They all rushed to the restroom.
They come back.
"Thanks again," Lincoln remarked.
"No problem, kid," responded the tough guy.
"I'm really sorry about that," Lincoln apologized.
The tough guy assured him, "It's alright."
Laney gives the tough guy some lotion. "Here. This should take care of the hives."
"Thank you," the tough guy replied.
A lady was passing by with her signed book. "Oh, yes! That two-hour wait was so worth it!" She howls.
"Two hours?" Scoots questioned. "Rip is my BAE, but nobody keeps Scoots waiting. I'm getting a soft pretzel." She takes off on her scooter.
"This is insane!" cried Linka.
"I know," J.D. agreed.
"I hope we get this done soon," Varie commented.
"Forget it, Lincoln," Lucy replied. "We're done with this line."
The train whistles, attracting Lincoln's attention.
"Yes, you are!" Lincoln responded.
The little sisters had boarded the train.
"All aboard!" cried Lincoln. He takes a quarter from his pocket. "It's my treat." He inserts it into the slot, and the ride begins.
"Lincoln, we're bored," Lola stated.
"I love trains," Lily remarked.
"Of course you're bored," Lincoln replied warily. "You aren't wearing your conductor hats!" He gave each of them a hat which only Lily liked.
"This is unsanitary," Lola grumbled.
"Oh, yes," Lisa answered sarcastically. "This makes all the difference."
"Then let's go for the 20-ride special!" Lincoln suggested. He puts all of his quarters into the slot, which causes it to shake somewhat.
"Uh, Lincoln?" Laney questioned. "Are you sure it's a good idea to put all those quarters in?"
"Of course it is, Laney," Lincoln answered."And besides, you'll be there to watch over them. Later!" He ran back to the long line.
Laney crossed her arms and sarcastically said, "Oh, wow. Lincoln, you're doing a great job of being responsible." She noticed the train speeding up.
"Wooooaah!" shouted the sisters.
Laney's eyes widened. "Uh oh! Hang on, guys!" She grips a part of the train as it speeds up. "Uhhh! I knew this was a bad idea! Okay, stay calm! I'll get you all out of here! Just remain seated while I-" She then smashes into the meter, and everything goes black.
J.D., Varie, Lincoln, and Linka are in the long line at the bookstore, waiting for their turn. "Yes! We're next!" He said to his sisters, who were still on the train, "Hang tight, guys! I'll be right back!" He walked in nervously.
"How's it going, guys?" Rip asked. Lincoln does not respond. "I, uh, see you've got a copy of my book there. Would you like me to sign it?" There is still no response. "I'll just take that." He takes Lincoln's book and signs your mate, Rip Hardcore, in it, and gives it back. "Rippin' to meet ya."
J.D. greeted Rip and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rip. "I'm J.D. Knudson, and I am one of your biggest fans. It was thanks to everything I learned from your survival skills that I could help my family survive on an uncharted island for 7 weeks 6 years ago."
Rip shakes his hand. "Way to go, J.D. I'm proud of you. You have the makings of a great survivalist."
"Thanks, Rip," J.D. replied.
Lincoln scurries out of the bookstore, and they follow him. He regains his nerves and checks his watch.
"Now we just have to grab our sisters and go home," Lincoln added.
"I sense a disturbance in the Force," J.D. noticed.
"Yeah," Varie acknowledged, "I sense it too."
Lincoln returns to the train ride. "Okay, guys, now we can do whatever you..." He notices the train is gone. "Where'd they go?"
"The train is gone!" cried J.D. He noticed Laney groaning on the floor. "Laney!"
They rushed up to her.
"She'll be alright," Varie assured them. "Are you okay, Laney?"
"Woah, man... I had the strangest dream," Laney says, woozy. "I was on a speeding train with seven kids..."
"The kids!" Lincoln cried. "Laney, what happened?"
Laney was confused. "Laney? Who is Laney?"
"What are you talking about?" Linka questioned. "You're Laney."
Laney was still confused. "I'm sorry, guys. You must have mistaken me for someone else."
"Oh man," J.D. cried. "I've seen this before. Laney has amnesia."
"I know this all too well," Varie admitted.
"Laney, do you remember who I am? I'm J.D. Knudson. You got plant powers because of the Diamond of Gaia in Grand Venture State Park."
"Plant powers?" Laney wondered. "How could I have gotten..." She remembered and gasped. "J.D.!" She hugged him. "I remember now! I do have plant powers because of that! And Varie! After that, we met at the park!"
"That's right," Varie responded.
"Laney, where are the other siblings?" Lincoln asked.
"Umm... Are you lost or something?" Laney asked. She massages her head. "Oh, my head!" They noticed a large red bruise on her forehead.
"Oh, man!" cried J.D. "That had to hurt!"
"That's a nasty bruise!" remarked Varie.
Lincoln was shocked. "You have amnesia! What have I done?!" He panics. "Okay! Okay! No problem!" He looked at his watch. "We still have an hour and a half to fix this! Okay, Laney. You have to remember, it's me. Lincoln."
"Lincoln?" Laney questioned. "What kind of parents name their son after some dead president?"
"Oh, I am so dead," Lincoln moaned.
"These things take time, Lincoln," Linka explained. "Laney's memory will come back."
Lincoln keeps calm. "You're right, Linka. Don't panic. Just follow the wheel marks." He follows them but bumps into a janitor cleaning the floor with a floor sweeper. "How am I ever going to track them down?"
"That's it!" J.D. shouted. He looks through the book. "Let's see here. " How to purify urine...how to build a fire with toenails... Ah! " How to Track Animals in the Wild:. "With a little luck, my tracking bandanna, and the Four D's, we'll find your sisters in no time."
"Sisters? I have sisters?" Laney asked.
"Yes, Laney," Lincoln replied. "10 of them. All girls and I'm the only boy."
"Only boy?" Laney questioned. "How does that..." She remembered something and gasped. Lincoln!" She hugged him. "I remember now! I have a brother!"
"Yeah!" responded Lincoln.
"And I have ten sisters!" Laney added.
"Yeah!" responded Lincoln.
"And you're completely irresponsible," Laney added.
"Yeah..." Lincoln grumbled. "But we're going to fix this!"
"We'll help you remember!" J.D. assured her.
"Laney, do you remember me?" Linka asked. "My name is Linka. I came from a dimension where I had 11 brothers."
"I don't remember seeing..." Laney began. She gasps as she remembers something. "Linka!" She hugs her. "I remember! You are my 12th sister!"
"I'm glad, Laney," Linka remarked.
Lincoln howls and begins the search. "Disturbances, dens, diet..." He notices something. "Oh! Droppings." He dips a half-eaten corn dog in the droppings, and it disintegrates. "Just as I suspected: Lisa's chemicals. She can't be far."
Laney, who was still an amnesiac, asked, "Lisa? Is she one of my sisters you're talking about?"
"Yes," Lincoln replied. "Remember? She's the genius one. Always making chemicals and inventions and solving complex math equations."
"That's right," Varie replied, "and she's inventing new things that will benefit all of humanity."
"Wow," remarked Laney. "She sounds like a university professor. Are you sure she's my sister?"
"Trust me," Lincoln replied. The trail leads them to the appliance store, where a mob of frightened people flees screaming, revealing a robot designed by none other than Lisa.
"Greetings, brother and sisters," Lisa greeted. "The devices in this store were highly inefficient. They only performed one task each. So I combined them into one appliance that can do anything."
"Awesome robot Lisa," J.D. commented.
"Thank you," Lisa replied.
While demonstrating some products, the appliance robot asked, "CRUSHED ICE? SHIRT PRESSED?"
"Speaking of ice," Laney commented. "Do you think I can have some? My head is pounding..." She rubbed her head. Lisa then notices her bruise.
Lisa muttered, "Hmm. Laney, you seem to be suffering from severe head trauma. Luckily, my robot is also programmed to provide first aid." Lisa's robot shows some bandages.
"BANDAGE? GAUZE?" asked the Appliance Robot.
"Uh," Laney replied. "I still don't see how she's my sister."
"She has amnesia," Lincoln told Lisa.
"We're trying to help her remember everything," J.D. explained.
"I see," Lisa replied. "Then again, that probably happened because of your irresponsibility. Laney, might I recommend you take some thiamine? It's a popular vitamin that can help ease retrograde amnesia."
"Retrograde amnesia?" Laney wondered.
"Indeed," Lisa answered. "It's very common for people to have this and not remember anything before their injury."
Laney was confused. "I can't seem to understand all that..." She gasped and realized she remembered her. "Science talk! Lisa! Now I remember!" She hugged Lisa. "Where would I be without that big brain of yours?"
"I can dream, can't I?" Lisa remarked.
"Our little scientist does it again," J.D. said, amused.
"You said it," Varie agreed.
"Okay, enough of that," Lincoln replied. "Where are the others?" he then asked.
"I am uncertain," Lisa admitted. "I was ejected from the train when we took a sharp turn at the sofa store. It was clearly overstimulated by the excessive quarters you fed it."
J.D. remarked, "That was kind of stupid, Lincoln. Sorry."
"No, I deserve it," Lincoln replied. "Come on! We have to find them!" He takes Lisa and Laney and leaves; he finds another D. "Oh! Disturbances."
"What are you babbling about?" Lisa inquired.
"Rip says..." Lincoln said as he quoted as a picture of Rip appeared in the screen's corner. "...you can tell if an animal has been around by a disturbance in the environment. Look!"
They enter a clothing store and see a mannequin dressed in a gothic-type outfit, accompanied by a familiar, spooky fanfare.
"Ugh... creepy," muttered Laney. "Who would put that on display?"
"Lucy," Lisa and Lincoln both said.
"This has Lucy written all over it," J.D. observed.
"Yep," Varie agreed.
"Lucy?" Laney asked.
"Yeah," Lincoln replied. "She's the creepy one."
"She's into Vampires and everything dark," Linka explained.
"I see that..." Laney began.
Lucy is giving Flip a fortune.
"All right, little psychic girl, give me some good news," Flip urged.
"Ohmmmm... your business will soon make a big splash," Lucy said, gazing into her crystal ball.
Lincoln grabbed her. "Sorry folks, no more fortunes today."
"Sweet!" shouted Flip. "A great fortune and I don't have to pay!" He sipped his Flippee.
"Flip, you need a long vacation," J.D. stated.
Laney gives Lucy a strange look and says, "So... You're my sister, huh?"
"She's got amnesia," Lincoln told Lucy.
"Sigh... Of course," Lucy replied. "We're all victims of memory, continuously going away. Like our existence means nothing more than figments of imagination."
Laney felt down. "Wow... that sounds." She realized again that she knew her. "Depressing!" She hugged Lucy. "Lucy! It is you!" It feels awkward since Lucy is just staring at her. "Um... maybe I should stop with the hugging..."
"Perfect!" Lincoln shouted. "We're one step closer to fixing everything. But we still need to find all of my sisters. Hmm... No droppings, no disturbances..." He then stops. "Wait a minute. Den! Rip says..." Rip's square appears again. "...you can track a creature by finding its natural habitat."
Rip gives Lincoln a thumbs up, and they notice the Princess Palace.
J.D., Varie, Lincoln, Linka, Lisa, and Lucy all said, "Lola."
"Lola?" Laney asked.
"I think the princess' castle should be enough of an explanation," Lucy replied.
"Yeah," J.D. agreed.
They go inside and find a group of kids looking at Lola, who is sitting on a throne.
"Our little princess is now a queen," J.D. stated.
"Lola, playtime's over," Lincoln remarked. "We have to go."
Lola narrowed her eyes. "That's no way to speak to your queen! Send him to the dungeon!"
Laney remembers her now. "Oh, yeah... now it's coming back to me."
The other kids prepare to attack Lincoln.
"Lola, wait!" Lincoln shouted. "I just wanted to tell you, uh...there's another queen outside who says she's more powerful than you."
"What? Well, I'll have her head!" Lola screamed.
They charge out of the store and find nothing.
"There's no one here," Lola stated. "You lied! Well played, sir."
"I just wish I could forget how much of a brat she is," Laney remarked.
"Brat!?" yelled Lola.
"Lola, don't hurt her," J.D. pleaded. "She has amnesia."
Lola crossed her arms. "Bah! I bet she's just pretending so she can get out of paying Luna that 20 bucks she owes her."
"No, she's not Lola," Varie replied. "She hit her head badly and she can't remember anything. We're helping her, remember."
Laney scratched her head in confusion. "Are you sure I even belong in this family? You guys are crazy!"
"Trust me," Lincoln urged. "You get used to it. Let's move out."
They all follow him, except Lola.
"Take care of my kingdom!" Lola commanded her subjects. Then she goes.
They continue, and Lincoln discovers some bones.
"Aha!" cried Lincoln. "I found another D: Diet!"
"Lincoln, that's not human food," Lucy stated.
"It is if the human is..." Lincoln began.
They all noticed that they are close to the pet store.
Lincoln, Lisa, Lucy, and Lola said, "Lana."
Laney asked, "Do I even have to ask about this one?"
"I had a feeling Lana would be here at the Pet Shop," J.D. added. "I hope she's not eating dog biscuits again." He then shuddered at the thought.
Varie said, "Me too."
"Blech!" cried Linka. "That was horrible!"
J.D. and Lincoln walk in and find Lana in a duck pen.
J.D. laughed. "Lana. You are so funny."
"Lana, out," Lincoln said. "Let's go."
"No can do, guys," Lana responded. "I've got to keep these duck eggs warm."
Lana emerges from the pen as the ducklings hatch.
Lincoln shakes her hand. "Congratulations."
"Way to go, Lana," J.D. exclaimed.
"Awww," cried Laney. "They're so cute! You really have a thing for animals, don't you, Lana?" She gasps as she remembers again. "Lana! I forgot how much you love animals!"
"What's up with Laney?" Lana questioned.
"She has amnesia," J.D. explained, "and we're trying to help her remember."
"How did that happen?" Lana wondered.
"It was all my fault," Lincoln admitted. "I sped up that train with all those quarters and made it travel quickly. I'm very sorry for causing all of this. I should've watched out for you guys more, and I'm so sorry."
Lisa, Lucy, and Lola came in and forgave Lincoln.
"Aw, Lincoln, we forgive you," Lana responded.
"It's okay, Linky," Lola assured him.
"We forgive you," Lucy replied.
"Lincoln, I know how badly you wanted Rip's autograph and how much it meant to you, but you have to understand that family is always important," J.D. explained. "Plus, we can learn from our past mistakes and make sure that we never do them again."
"That's right," Varie responded.
"Wow, Lincoln," Laney exclaimed. "That's great, accepting responsibility for your actions like that. For one last time, she remembers. "I remember everything! Well, at least that's what happened today. Thanks, Lincoln. I guess you can be responsible."
"You're welcome," Lincoln replied.
They leave, and the ducks emerge from their pen.
"All right, let's find Lily, Anastasia, and Penny and go home," J.D. suggested.
Lincoln is checking his watch. "Right, we still have time to get home before Mom and Dad."
"Here we are, guys," Lily announced.
They spot Lily and Penny at a nearby clothing store, where they are carrying many bags of clothing.
Varie sighed with relief, "Thank goodness you're both safe."
Lily responded, "Yeah. We jumped out of the train before it collided with that stand over there." She pointed to Flip's Smoothie stand beside the fountain.
"It was great flying with Lily," Penny added.
"Good thinking," J.D. replied. "Laney has amnesia, and we're trying to help her remember everything."
"Oh man," Lily gasped. "I've seen it happen before with someone else. I assisted her with it."
"Good for you, Lily," Varie remarked.
"Where is Anastasia?" J.D. asked.
Penny answered, "She's over at the food court."
"That's good," Varie replied.
"You have a lot of clothes," J.D. observed.
"Yeah," Lily replied. "They are for Leni, Lori, and Carol. I figured they could use some new outfits to go with their existing ones."
"That's cool," J.D. replied.
"Let's head home," Lincoln suggested.
"Yeah," Linka replied. "Let's."
They got ready to leave.
"May I come along?" asked the Appliance Robot.
"Negatory," Lisa replied. "Your services are needed more here than in my home. This mall requires a thorough clean-up. Make me proud."
She walked away, and the robot got to work.
As soon as they all got home, they got to work on regaining Laney's memory. It wasn't long until everything was back to normal, as if the whole mall episode had never happened.
Back at home, they're carrying on as if nothing happened. Laney has an ice pack on her head. J.D. is reading a book on space, while Varie is reading a book about medicine and cures. Lucy is reading a book. Lola, Lincoln, and Linka are watching TV, while Lisa, Anastasia, Lana, Penny, and Lily are playing a board game.
"I'm glad you're okay, Laney," J.D. commented.
"Me too," Laney replied.
"Again, Laney, I'm sorry that my irresponsibility led you to lose your memories," Lincoln added.
"That's okay, Lincoln," Laney reassured him, "because today you showed you can be a responsible brother. Well, in your own weird way. But I still like my way better. No one gets hurt that way."
"Believe me, Laney," J.D. said. "Amnesia is no picnic. It even happened to me."
"Really?" Laney asked. "How?"
J.D. recalled the incident: "It was four years ago. I was in gym class, doing a daredevil gymnastics move, when I hit my head on a metal bar. I woke up in the hospital and my mom and dad were by my bedside. I couldn't remember anything. I had total amnesia. I couldn't remember who I was, where I came from, where I was, or anything else. I was a complete blank. A shadow wandering through a world I didn't recognize. The doctors thought I would never regain my memories. But later, as I was leaving the movie theater with my parents, I saw a man being robbed at knifepoint and confronted him. This gave the man enough time to escape, but the robber punched me in the head. He knocked me down, but my memories returned and I remembered everything. I got up, knocked the robber out, tied him up, and I was back to my old self."
"That's incredible!" remarked Lincoln.
"I agree," Linka replied.
"Memories can sometimes be restored in patients with amnesia after a second blow to the cranial area," Lisa explained.
"Yes," Varie agreed. "I've seen it happen."
Returning are their parents and older sisters.
"Hey guys," Rita greeted them. "We're home."
"How was the open house at the school, Ms. Rita?" J.D. asked.
"That's great, J.D.," Rita replied. "Thank you."
"Thank you for looking out for everyone, J.D.," Lynn Sr. added.
"You're welcome, Mr. Lynn," J.D. responded.
"We've got something for you." Lynn Sr. gave him a dragon-shaped necklace with three red stones on it.
"It's beautiful, Mr. Lynn, and I love dragons," J.D. commented.
"A little thank you for helping us out today," Rita added. "It's great to know we can count on you."
"Actually, we have something to tell you," Lincoln replied. "The truth is..."
Lana shuts him up. "He let us jump on the bed."
"But it was only because we kept bugging him," Lucy added.
"Lincoln was an excellent babysitter," Lisa remarked.
"Yes, he is," Anastasia confirmed.
"And, might I add, very responsible," Laney added.
Lola added, "I give him a 9 out of 10."
Lynn Sr. chuckles. "I think we can live with that."
The parents walk away.
"What did you do that for?" Lincoln asked.
"That was my little thank you for letting us keep the ducklings," Lana explained.
The news shocked Lincoln. "Wait, what?!"
Lucy, Lola, and Lisa each hold up a duckling, showing that they came with them and mama Lana.
"Yay!" shouted Laney. "New pets!"
"I'll have Double D build a special duck pond in the backyard," J.D. promised.
"Perfect," Varie replied.
"They're so cute!" gushed Lily.
THE END
