Note: This takes place after Sound of Silence
J.D., Varie, Aylene, Laney, the Eds, and Lincoln are relaxing in Lincoln's new treehouse.
"Boy, Lincoln, your new treehouse is awesome," Laney quipped.
"It sure is," Lincoln agreed.
"I built it for Lincoln as a little sanctuary for some quiet time," J.D. explained.
"It's great, J.D.," Lincoln insisted. "Thank you."
"You're welcome, Lincoln," J.D. replied.
"It's really cool, Lincoln," Ed commented.
With a sigh, Eddy said, "I wish we still had our old hangout van to go with it.
"Hangout van?" J.D. asked.
"It was an old van we had in the Peach Creek Junkyard," Edd explained. "It was a van that was our hangout."
Eddy mused, "It had awesome shag carpeting and a nice waterbed."
"I remember that," Ed replied.
J.D. muttered, "Hmm. I think I know what you're talking about."
The following morning, after everyone had finished eating breakfast, J.D. flies into the backyard while carrying an old van.
"Hey guys, take a look at this!" Lana shouted.
They all rushed over when they saw the van he was carrying. He placed it on the ground near Lincoln's Treehouse. It was an old purple retro-style van with flames on the sides and a drop of water-shaped window, and the tires were gone.
"There," J.D. grunted.
The Loud Kids came out to take a look at the van.
"This is an awesome van, J.D.!" Lana exclaimed.
"Thanks, Lana," J.D. replied.
"Where did you literally get this J.D.?" Lori asked.
"I got it from the Peach Creek Junkyard in Atlanta," J.D. explained. "Eddy said he wished they had their old hangout van to go with Lincoln's treehouse."
"That's right," Laney agreed. "I heard him say that."
Luna looked inside. "Dudes, the inside is rockin'! I love the interior."
They saw the interior, and it was awesome.
"It's like a home on wheels," Lola added.
"It sure is," agreed Lily.
"I'd rather enjoy the darkness of a cave myself," Lucy stated.
"This would literally be perfect for a second car," Lori noted.
"It sure would," Linka agreed.
"In the condition it's in, it wouldn't travel a very long distance," Lisa explained.
"This is a sweet ride, though," Lynn admitted.
"After breakfast, I'll make this baby look brand new," Lana promised.
J.D. added, "And we'll surprise the Ed's with it."
"It sure is Van-tastic!" joked Luan and then laughed. "Get it?"
Everyone laughed.
J.D. laughed. "Good one."
Varie chuckled, "That was funny."
"That was a good one," Laney laughed.
They got to work right after breakfast. While they worked on it, they covered it with a tarp, and Luan, Linka, and Leni's job was to keep the Ed's distracted. So they took them to the park for a picnic. They installed new tires, a new engine, new carpeting on the inside, a new transmission, new water for the waterbed, new speakers, a new windshield, a new paint job, and other upgrades. Even more was added to it, including a TV.
4:00 PM
They finished the van, and it looks brand new and fresh off the assembly line.
"All done," J.D. said before looking down at himself. "Boy, I'm a mess. I'm covered in filth and transmission fluid."
"But we sure did a great job, J.D.," Lana added. "I didn't know you were good at repairing cars."
"I helped my dad with the cars," J.D. explained.
Lana announced, "It's ready."
"OK, guys!" J.D. shouted.
Luan, Linka, and Leni lead the Eds out to the backyard. The Eds were wearing blindfolds.
Eddy asked, "I wonder what our surprise is?"
"You guys will love it," Luan assured them.
They came to a stop.
J.D. gave the signal with a nod.
Luan, Linka, and Leni removed their blindfolds.
"Ta da!" shouted Luan, Linka, and Leni.
The Eds were both surprised and ecstatic.
"Our old hangout van!" Eddy cried.
"How did you guys get it here!?" Edd wondered.
"I brought it here from Peach Creek, and Lana and I spruced it up and made it new again," J.D. explained. "I brought it here, so you could have a hangout next to Lincoln like you wanted."
Eddy hugged him. "Thank you, J.D."
"No problem, buddies," J.D. replied.
They entered the van, and it was brand new. When Eddy honked the horn, the horn began to play La Cucaracha.
"This is awesome, guys!" Eddy exclaimed.
"I'm glad you like it, Eddy," Lana replied.
Laney noted, "This is much better than before."
"By the way, Eddy, how did you find this van?" J.D. asked.
"We were living out Ed's favorite movie, Robot Rebel Ranch," Eddy explained, "and we found it in the junkyard."
"Oh yeah," Ed recalled. "I remember that."
"This van is like our special pad," Edd explained.
"I can believe it," J.D. nodded.
"We also put in this old can phone, so you can talk to Lincoln," Varie added.
Attached to Lincoln's treehouse was a can phone system.
"Cool!" shouted Ed.
"Just like old times," Edd said, smiling.
"It sure is," agreed Eddy.
