Bellatrix Lestrange, considered by some the most mentally unstable yet loyal of Voldermort's followers, sat happily humming to herself. Those same people would be highly scared by a happy Bellatrix. Said witch had just finished carving the runes on the inside of her Death Eater mask. The runic array wasn't anything impressive, but it did give her a type of mage sight. Not much, Just the ability to see spell energy and beneath illusions. There were a few drawbacks, primarily it limited her field of vision. However it did give her that edge in never being caught unaware. She was ready for tonight. Her body was whole and her magic thrummed under her skin.

Tonight was the night. Tonight the Dark Lord would let her loose. Tonight all those light sided fools would pay again. Tonight she would bring the pain she had felt for the last 15 years. Bellatrix knew she could never truly make them pay for the loss of her baby girl, but she would try. She would bring pain and ruin upon any one who stood in her way.

The black witch set back after she finished the alterations to her mask. She hadn't always been so rabid and bloodthirsty but with the death of her baby she had finally given into her aunt and the Dark Lord's honeyed words of destruction. She had become their vicious attack dog. The witch could not find an iota of remorse in her soul. The light had also made her what she was when they destroyed the safe house set up for the LeStranges, which just happened to contain her baby girl. The three other children that were there were barely an afterthought to her.

It didn't matter who the dark Lord lured into his trap through the Potter brat. Tonight the world would once again know the pain of a wounded mother grieving for her child.

Bella had her mask lifted. Yes it was originally designed to be quickly removed and put into place. All to quickly hide the identity of any Death Eater. Not that it mattered anymore. She was nothing but the murdering torturing Death Eater. The person she had let life force her to be.

Her mask was currently up. The moment she had walked into the hall of prophecy, the swirling kaleidoscope of her mage sight nearly caused her to have a fit. The black witch was twirling her wand impatiently. Barely paying attention to Lucius as he tried to talk the prophecy away from the Potter brat. She had the barest of sympathies for the boy. Having something ripped from him, like her.

"Lucy, stop playing with the whelps." The Black witch started off calmly enough but quickly slipped into her baby talk voice. She enjoyed the unsettled looks and mistakes it caused. "Kill them, one by one, till Potter gives us wha' we wan'"

Lucius was an idiot for not seeing through the midgets' stalling tactics, and she was tired of it. Her wand barely flicked as she sent a stunner at the combined group. She may want them all to suffer and die, at least the ones with parents. However, she had no desire to bring the Dark Tossers ire any more than was needed.

All of which lead to her surprise that her spell missed. All six had dodged or weaved out of the spell's path. Bella couldn't help but be mildly impressed. With a dark scowl she wondered how her own daughter would have fared and what she would have taught her baby girl. The thought didn't get to live long as the six children seemed to take that as an excuse to stop verbally sparring with Luscius. They fired spells at the various shelves causing a wave of color and broken glass to rain down on the assembled Death Eaters. A few stray spells came out of the obscuring cloud but it was nothing even close to a coordinated attack. As the magical dust cleared the children were gone.

Bellatrix lowered her mask and grinned. The hunt was on.

The Black witch was chasing down a pair of girls. Her mask was down. She could see the mage sight glow from the prophecy. She wasn't sure which ones she was chasing. One had brown bushy hair the other with long black locks that were in desperate need of a brush. Once again her mind turned to her dead daughter.

She shook her head and refocused on her query. The six children. She could have sworn it was 3 boys with red, brown, and black hair and 3 girls with blonde, red, and brown hair. However, none of it mattered. She would have them and inflict the pain of the world upon them.

Bella grinned to herself. Her mask was up so she could see the full effect of the battlefield. She had the Potter and Weasley brats trapped at the end of a Hall. The only way out was the door that led to the Viel room and past her. If they chose the door they would be in a shooting pit.

Peeking around the corner she saw the boys have a hurried conversation. It was obvious to her they didn't want to go into a room labeled the 'Veil of Death'. Sending a quick silent yet underpowered blood boiler, in case it hit, to help their decision. The boys, seeing they had little choice flung open the door and darted inside.

Hearing the sounds of battle from beyond the door the black witch gave a gleeful cackle and lowered her mask. A hastily laid trap spell or a stray curse to the face was not about to ruin her fun tonight. She gave her a slow count of ten. Once again battlefield tactics drove her decision. She needed the doorway clear as she started to move toward the door.

Stepping past the door, Bellatrix surveyed the death chamber. She saw six children. Four girls and two boys. All battling various of her Death Eater cohorts. Her mind ground to a halt as she tried to figure out where the Potter brat was. He still had the prophecy.

Quickly scanning the chamber, She noted several who she barely knew but also those she knew intimately. Dolohov, Lucius, Rebastian, and her less than satisfactory husband: Rodolphus. Her mind quickly discarded the various Death Eaters, but not the thought of 'where was Potter?'.

Suddenly her head was slammed to the side. Some spell had hit her face, and judging by the rapidly failing mage sight in her right eye. The spell came from one of her 'own'. How she despised them and their manticore in a wand shop mentality. No finesse at all. Her daughter would have been absolute grace and elegance in a fight or duel. The world would burn for its injustice. With that final though the mage sight in her right eye died. It didn't matter, as soon as she found her target the rest would pay. The Dark Tosspot had born her zealotry in the past. So what if she went a little overboard. She was his mad dog anyway. As long as he got is stupid prophocy.

Her left eye passed over the black haired girl. Even through the horrendous muggle clothes she could tell the girl was a gifted fighter by the way she moved. Even from just seeing her back. A fleeting thought of 'who was this girl and could she be turned'. Not that it mattered now. The girl dodged into that tiny blind spot in the center of her mask's vision as she dueled with Rebastian. Bella turned her head a fraction of an inch bringing the girl back into view of her dead right eye.

Expecting to see the side of the black haired girl instead her right eye beheld the chief brat-child himself, Harry Potter. She gasped to herself. Was it really so simple? Potter was under a glamor. Oh this was delightful. What better way to destroy the light sided morons, than to expose their Hero as a fraud. Grinning behind her mask she flicked her hand dismissively at her brother in law and took his place in the duel.

She taunted the young Potter boy by only giving him the view of her side. "Come Come 'boy'" She sneered the word. Just in case he was aware of the glamor. If not it would be all the sweeter when she exposed him. "Time to stop playing and to put you in your place."

Potter snarled at her. "I'll put you down first you rabid dog."

Bella couldn't help but laugh, the boy did have fire in him. "Very well. To the death then?"

Out of the corner of her eye she could see the boy gulp nervously. She turned to face him ready to at least give him the minor courtesy of a proper duel before death. Yet she froze. Not because she was afraid but because of who she saw. While her right eye still saw the cursed Boy-Who-Lived. With his eyes full of emerald fire. Emblem of the light side of everything that had been ripped from her. In her left she saw a young woman with hair matching the long line of Black women. Her husband's high cheekbones and aquiline nose. And the most damning piece, her own raging amethyst eyes burning holes into her.

Bellatrix, Viscous murderer and master torturer of the Dark Lord, felt for the first time in 15 years guild and confusion. Here was proof that she had been lied and manipulated. Not only by her husband whom she had begged her parents for a contract for. As much good as it had done her. But also Voldemort, the Dark Lord, Grande Liar Extraordinaire. What else had he lied about.

Bella needed time and answers. Neither of which she could get with a wand pointed at her. With the barest of flicks, a silent, and overpowered levitation charm on Brat-in-Command's shoes she tipped him forward. Causing him to stumble into her waiting arms. She spun him around and pressed her wand tip into the joint of the jaw. Just beneath his ear. Merlin this was not how she wanted to embrace her child. Leaning in and whispering, "If you want your friends to see another sunrise, don't move." She felt the boy stiffen in her grip. She noticed the others start to subdue the children one by one. No serious injuries, which she found herself thankful for.

"Rudolphus!" She called out. Her husband turned to face her unsure what she wanted from him. All she wanted was the briefest of eye contact. The daughters of Black were not known for their legilimency skills. Which was the point. They would funnel any information they gleaned from their husbands or their associates back to the main family. It was how the Blacks became so powerful. Usually they were more subtle but Bella didn't have time for it right now. She ripped into her husband's mind and looked for what she wanted. Answers.

Bella found the memories she wanted. Those of her daughter from 15 years ago. She quickly traced them back until she found one of her dear husband and the Dark Tosser.

Rudolphus and the Dark Lord were alone in his audience chamber. Aside from the shade of one Bellatrix LeStrange. Rudolphus knelt before his lord and swallowed once. He knew what he was about to ask could end poorly for him. If he was lucky he would escape with his life at the end of a painfilled session. But for himself and for the movement he had to try.

"My Lord, I have a boon to ask," He was looking up enough to see his lord glare down at him. Everyone knew the Dark Lord did not grant favors Idly. he required something be offered to him first, and Lord Voldermort always came out on the winning side of the deal. He plowed ahead. "And I offer information that will support my request."

He waited. Wait for either some painful curse or acknowledgement to continue. It seemed the Dark Lord was in a generous mood today. His Lord gave a bare head nod indicating permission to continue.

"My lord, As you know we have recently been blessed with a daughter." He noticed his lord's eyes narrow. The message was clear. 'Get to the point'. "I have also found evidence of a closely guarded Black family secret. Any daughter of the house of black is given specific training in interrogation and information gathering. While I am not yet sure of what this training is. I do know despite certain Blacks espousing their support for you. They have yet to share these secrets with you. Thereby supporting your glorious cause even more."

Rudolphus paused once again, patiently waiting for his Lord's response. Things were at their most precarious, at least for himself. He barely heard the low hiss of displeasure which turned into a softly whispered statement. "And what boon would you ask for this information?"

A small smile graced his lips. Finally feeling he had done well by his Lod. "The boon I ask is that I be allowed to pass a tip on our enemies. In this tip I will disclose the location of a safe house. I will then imperios a host of reprobates, servants, and those not worthy to serve you. I shall tell my wife." he couldn't keep some level of disgust out of his voice, now that he knew her true loyalties. "Our daughter will be safe there while we are on an important mission for you. This will serve 3 purposes. One dispose of a potential threat to our cause in the future, turn Bellatrix to your cause, and remove any useless elements you deem. I shall tell Bellatrix that it was the order that killed her child and you have given permission to hunt down the offenders."

With the closing arguments of his plan Rudolphus went silent and let his Lord see if he had failed in his planning or misjudged his motives. The silence was almost painful on his nerves. However, one did not rush the great lord Voldemort. Finally a small smile played on the lips of his lord but it didn't reach those cold dead red eyes of the Dark Lords.

"You offer up much for the cause. You have permission for your plan and may you sire a boy next time." Rudolphus shuddered as he was dismissed. He knew his Lord would not tolerate another girl requiring a plan like this.

Bella raged. How could her husband so callously plot the death of his own flesh and pure blood. She had developed misgiving about their marriage only a scant 6 months after the wedding. Despite having wanted this marriage and all but begging her father for a marriage contract. Rudolphus had not lived up to her expectations nor his pretty boy image after the wedding. This was merely the final reason to follow through on the unwritten Black marriage escape clause. Murder. Rebastian would be joining her dear husband as well. No reason to leave the LeStrange assets with anyone but her daughter. Not that she really needed an excuse to put that pig out of her misery.

Her mental list of doom and round table plotting came to an end with the burgeoning sounds of battle. The kids had fought well but were no match for hardened murders and psychotics, so there was no way they could have escaped and started the battle again.

The reason the battle renewed itself and began to rebalance itself was members of the order had started to filter in. While now an equal number of order members to Death Eaters, they were still hopeless out gunned. The Death Eaters took full advantage of Dumbledork's no permanent harm policy, that every order of the roasting chicken member seemed to follow. She would have to tip the scales.

Spotting her idiot cousin, she almost lost her desire to be anything other than a mindless killer but the feel of her hidden child still held in her arm kept her from the darkest of paths. Familicide. Although there would be much pain in the idiot's future for failing as only he seemed capable of. Her juvenile cousin was proof that despite good breeding one could still be drastically mentally deficient.

Taking in the battlefield with a quick glance, She noticed some of her former compatriots were using the kids as human shields. Time to tip the scales and teach her child a lesson. Whispering in the child's ear. It was still disconcerting to see her daughter out of her left eye and the dark twat's nemesis out of her right. "Watch and learn."

Bella loosened her grip, before the child had more than the barest moment to think of escape, she let fly a string of curses. A severing charm at her Rebastian's neck. His head came off neatly, his body took a moment to realise it had no more purpose before collapsing. A piercing Hex at Lucy. The spell went right through the man's shoulder, although he did let out a high pitched scream. If Bella didn't know her sister better she would swear to Merlin and Morgana that, Lucy was a girl.

Before she had time to deal with Rodolphus, the man sent a bludgeoning hex at her idiot cousin. It wasn't hard to plot the course of said spell and where it would send the mongrel. Straight through the veil. She growled and felt her child stiffen. She would have to explain later. No one killed a Black but a Black. A quick bludgeoner of her own caused Sirius to be knocked off course. Grinning as she saw him impact the column of the arch and herd his shoulder snap. That would teach the idiot to be aware of the battle field.

With that another quick severing charm and Rodolphus was also without a head. With a self satisfied smirk she watched as the order began incarcerating the rest of the scum. Anyone who would side with someone who willingly kept a mother from her daughter deserved whatever they got. May the burn.

Unfortunately, in the middle of her celebratory mental happy dance, her dark mark began to burn. Mentally cursing in several languages, the black witch knew she didn't have much time left. She would have to trust. Something that was a long forgotten concept. But needs must. Turning to her hidden child. "There is much that has been kept for both you and I. I do not have time to tell you now, but if you come with me I promise to share all that I know, and we will find out what else has been kept from us."

Bellatrix Black, she no longer considered herself a LeStrange, held out her hand to her daughter. For the first time in nearly 16 years hope warred with the darkness inside her and shown from her violet eyes.

Harry, not for the first time, was baffled by the woman before him. She had chased him, threatened him, captured him, and then turned on her cohorts for him. Now she was offering the one thing he had been craving all year. Knowledge. He may be a lion at heart. Always would be. However, this year between the DA and especially his friendship with Luna, he had grown to appreciate the eagle's view.

With all the brashness that the Lions of Hogwarts were known for he took her hand. "Tell me everything."

Bella genuinely smiled. But only for a moment, the Ministry alwards suddenly screamed. Everyone was suddenly aware that a very angry Dark Wannabe had ripped through the Ministry's wards.

"Not here. No time." Bella said in a rush and apparated to one of her safe houses with her child in tow.
