Week 7

They were eating breakfast in the Mess Hall.

"So, guys," Cameron began, "I have a feeling you're going to eliminate me next. But just go easy on me, okay?"

"We will, Cameron," J.D. promised. "A friend of Lisa's is like a member of our family."

"Thanks guys," Cameron said.

"You're welcome," J.D. replied.

Chris called out, "Attention campers, meet me in front of the flagpole for today's challenge."

"It's time to get to work," J.D. announced.

Chris went over the challenge. "Okay, today's challenge is something I'd like to call Mine Search. You must search for the Gilded Chris award that I've left in the old mine over there. It's somewhere down in that mine. But be careful. There are a lot of radioactive materials dumped in there, and the level of radiation will most likely kill you in 45 minutes."

"I love a dangerous challenge," J.D. commented.

"Me, too," Naruto added.

"I had a feeling you would," Chris replied. "You will now be wearing these armbands, which will tell you how much longer you have before it reaches the lethal point. Green means you are fine. Orange is moderate. Red means critical, while black with a skull and crossbones means dead."

Everyone gasped.

Gwen cried, "This is insane."

"Let's do it," J.D. said.

It was on when they all got armbands on their left arms.

"All right, here are some walkie-talkies for all of us," J.D. explained.

He gave each member of the team a Walkie-Talkie, and they walked into the mine.

They all separated in order to cover more ground. J.D., Naruto, Alan and Gwen were in the deepest part of the mine. But it was pitch black.

"Boy, it's dark," J.D. commented, "but I've got this."

He adjusted his vision to infrared. "All right. Stay with me."

After 15 minutes, they were getting closer.

"We should be getting close," J.D. observed.

"I hope so," Gwen responded. "Our bands are orange."

"Even though I'm immune to radiation, I always have to be careful, so we had better get moving," J.D. added.

"I can't see it," Naruto explained.

J.D. responded, "I think I can help."

He created a ball of light on the tip of his tail, which shined a light beam in the direction they were looking.

"That's cool," J.D. commented.

"Very clever," Gwen commented.

"I see something over there," Naruto says, pointing to a shiny object on a rock in the middle of a lake.

J.D. shone a light on it, and it was the Gilded Chris. "There it is!"

"I got it," Gwen assured them.

Gwen spread her wings, flew out, and grabbed it. She returned to them in a flash.

"Nice work, Gwen," J.D. commented. "Now let's get out of here." He said on the Walkie-Talkie, "Atomic Owls, we have the Gilded Chris. Regroup outside."

"Roger that J.D.," Dawn replied.

They all get out of the mine and win the challenge.

"The Atomic Owls win again!" Chris yelled.

They all cheered wildly.

Later, at the Campfire Ceremony, Cameron was eliminated, just as they had thought.

In their cabin, J.D. stamped Cameron's face with an X, and then he pulled out his laptop and called Lincoln.

"Hey, J.D.," Lincoln answered.

"Hey Lincoln," J.D. replied.

"That mine was full of radioactive material, and you could've all been killed," Lincoln warned.

"I know," J.D. admitted. "But we weren't. I have a feeling tomorrow will be a deadly challenge. It's now the Atomic Owls versus Lightning, the last member of the Nuclear Bears."

"That's amazing," Lincoln cried. "But we have a feeling that you all will win. You've all come so far, and there's no turning back now."

"That's true," J.D. said. "But I can tell you that this entire show has changed all of us. They hate it with a grudge."

"I believe it," Lincoln replied. "Let's hope you won't be back on this show after next week, J.D."

"We're all hoping for that," J.D. said.

"I agree, Lincoln," responded Courtney. "We hate this show. I'm going to have my lawyers shut it down once it's over."

Lincoln answered, "Let's hope so. Good luck next week, guys. The entire country is rooting for you."

"Thanks buddy," J.D. replied. "See ya."

The call clicks off, and they hit the hay.

Continues in the Finale.
