CHAPTER 8

(MARIO'S P.O.V)

It was 7:00pm when I locked my front door. I was about to hangout with Bill, as I held a six pack of beer in my left hand. I thought to myself that I hadn't seen Bill for a couple of days now, however my thoughts were interrupted, when I spotted Bartholomew the unicorn watching me from across the street hiding within some bushes. It then retreated further into the bushes, gesturing with its head for me to follow. I gently put down my six pack of beer, and quietly crossed the street. This was perfect, because I had the silver dagger on me, which I planned to give to Bill, who would pass it on to Sookie. Now that I had encountered Bartholomew again, I could just give it to him.

"Sookie seems to be very busy, since I have been unable to get a hold of her for the past two days."Bartholomew stated. "I'm sure she is," I responded as I pushed my right hand into my right pocket. "Well you're in luck, because I managed to get a hold of the silver dagger before Sookie could. You know what before I give it to you, I think I should inform Bill Sookie's boyfriend-" I began to say. "NO!," Bartholomew growled, immediately blocking my path. "Bartholomew it's cool," I frowned, surprised at his reaction. "Bill is on our side," I tried to explain. "Hand over the silver dagger NOW!," Bartholomew demanded hostility. Something was up. The kind hearted unicorn I had recently met was now replaced with a very hostile one, who seemed to have no problem killing me if necessary.

One thing I knew for sure is that Bartholomew was lying like shit about being Sookie's ally. Without warning I sprinted in the opposite direction, regretting being so open with the two faced unicorn. "Stop human!," Bartholomew exclaimed in anger, as the thick bushes hit me smack in the face, as I blindly pushed through them. I looked over my shoulder to see the unicorn right behind me, his head bent with its infamous horn aiming to stick me in the back. I turned back in time to see a tree right in front of me. Thanks to my quick reflexes, I made a left quickly, avoiding running into the tree. I came to a stop to see Bartholomew had run into the tree, and its horn was stuck deep in it, as he struggled to get out. I quietly hid a couple yards away, and pulled out my second phone and called Bill, since my first phone got damaged today.

After a couple of rings and still no answer. I decided to leave a voicemail. "Bill this is Mario. As soon as you get this message come into the bushes across the street. I'll explain everything, I'm in trouble and if I come back to my house or yours trouble will follow."

I parked my car at Bill's driveway, and jogged over to Mario's driveway for the fourth time, since I tried earlier, only to realize that Mario was not at home. I sighed in frustration, as I stared at Mario's darkened home. I jogged back to Bill's hoping Bill is at home to fill him in on everything, since I hadn't gotten the chance. Using the spare key that Bill gave to me, I let myself into Bill's darkened home as well. "Bill," I exclaim in worry. Bill appears in front of me, using his vampire ability to approach me. "Sookie what's wrong?," Bill asked, cupping my face, as he pockets his phone. "I'm not in any immediate danger, but I have a lot to fill you in on." "Okay, but it's going to have to wait. I just got a voicemail from Mario, and he's in trouble. Stay here. Lock the doors and don't let anyone in unless it's me or Mario." With that Bill was out the door within seconds.

I paced up and down the kitchen after learning from Lafayette that Holly and Sookie were gone on a goose chase to find the silver dagger. "It's 8:00pm, and we haven't heard anything back from Holly and Sookie." Without Lafayette's response, I headed out the kitchen to the back door of the bar. I pulled out my cell phone, and punched in Sookie's phone number. "You have no idea how good it is to hear your voice," Sookie sighed in relief answering her phone. "Are you okay?, did you and Holly obtain the silver dagger?." "No, apparently Charlaine took it, and lost it at Mario's." "Wait Mario has the dagger?," I frowned in confusion. "We're not sure, since I tried getting in contact with him. His phone keeps ringing, and he's not at home. I'm at Bills, and he just left, because Mario left a voicemail saying he's in trouble." "Sookie i'm coming over." I told her, as I could hear the exhaustion in her voice. "Just be careful," Sookie said to me before I hung up.
