Luke knew.
He just couldn't seem to care.
Thalia's scream echoing through the air, moving through the thunder that crashed and the lightning that flashed just before Alecto slashed her claws…
Annabeth's frantic grabbing and hysterical crying as she tried to claw her way back to Thalia, slashing her knife at Megaera as Luke tried to hold her.
Grover, just in front of them, looking back in horror as all of them were blinded by Zeus' final mercy upon Thalia.
The rippling of pure power as the boundary established itself with her power, as she seemingly crystalized into wood, her spiky hair growing into branches as she rose, not just in height, but in age. Luke could see her face go through all different ages before settling back into her teenager self.
And finally, as her arms and face metamorphosize into a pine tree. A pine tree.
Walking into camp as the seemingly endless sea of demigods parted before them as they made a celebrity tunnel into what Grover called the 'Big House'.
And now, weeks later, sitting in the Hermes cabin because he wasn't even claimed. He had his suspicions, along with the rest of the cabin and Annabeth, that he would stay here even if he was claimed. Annabeth wasn't claimed either, but she was at the Athena cabin, as she should be. It was obvious to everyone who was around her for more than two minutes.
As the conch horn blew and Luke dragged himself to the tables where most of the Hermes cabin had started eating their food. Luke requested his food and as usual, went to the brazier to burn up his food. He walked up to the jacked up grill and scraped a quarter of his food into the brazier.
He muttered quietly, "Just make it official already."
Then he turned around to watch his table explode.
A black and red flash accompanied by a yellow glow and the slight hint of….chocolate? Luke guessed it was a prank by one of his cabin members or a machine but then a figure stepped out.
A black, human-shaped figure with a flat skull stepped out. His appearance still hazy from the smoke, Luke got ready for a fight, assuming it was a monster or something else that was trying to kill him again.
There was suddenly a chorus of gasps as his cabin members put their weapons away. Thinking they were under some sort of spell, as the figure came closer he got into a battle stance, already analyzing ways to hopefully attack this strange monster.
Luke finally gets a clear look and sits dumbstruck.
Darth Vader, holding a double-edged lightsaber which are topped off with two snakes, puts a hand on Luke's shoulder and says, "Luke, I am your father."
