Love at First Sight

Chapter 10: Confessions

Written By: Super Saiyan Blue Juuhachi

It's Saturday afternoon, Bart and Laura were at the Kwik-E-Mart. Laura was playing one of the arcade games that was there called "Escape from Death Row."

The alarm bell rang as the prisoner on the screen was trying to escape from jail. The police officers ran at him, one firing their gun as he jumped over all of them.

"Oh no, here comes the conservative judge." Bart pointed out as they watched the judge approach the prisoner with his gavel drawn back behind him.

"Plead insanity. Plead insanity!"

"It's not working." Laura told him, pressing the button

"Alright, hit the change of venue button! Now!" She slammed her hand on the red button on the machine and the scenery quickly changed.

The prisoner was now strapped into an electric chair with a Sheriff in Texas standing at the lever, a big smile on his face.

"Oh no you're in Texas!" Bart exclaimed as the Shrief then pulled the lever sending volts of electricity to the chair and frying the prisoner till all that remained was a skeleton.

"Yee-Ha!" The Shrief did a little dance as he fired his guns into the air as the words "GAME OVER" appeared on the screen.

"If I had hit the remorse button one more time I would've made it." Laura glances at her watch, "Oh, Bart, I gotta go. See you around."

Bart watches as Laura then leaves the convenient store. Noticing the smitten look on his face, Apu approaches the teenager.

"I'm thinking you like this girl, yes?"

"How did you know?" asked Bart, turning to him.

"My ceiling mirrors and video cameras sometimes see more than who is about to shoot me."

Bart walked out of the Kwik-E-Mart and decided that he needed to get advice from his father on this situation. He saw the cooling towers of the Power Plant not that far away and decided to walk there.

Bart soon arrived at the Nuclear Power Plant and entered his father's work station. He wasn't there.

The teenage boy began walking around when he found the break room where he saw Lenny and Carl talking to one another. They noticed him and asked

"Hey your Homer's kid, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I'm Bart Simpson. Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Lenny and this is Carl. We're best friends with your dad."

"Uh-huh, well have either of you seen him?"

Before the two men could answer they heard the sound of a toilet flushing and Homer walked out.

"Bart, what are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you about something. You got a minute?"

"Sure. What's going on?"

"Well, see there is this girl at my school…"

"And you like her, right?"

"Yeah, I do, a lot actually. The problem is I don't know how she feels about me. I don't know if she sees me just as a friend or if likes me too."

"Ah, that's a tough one son." Homer sighed, "The best advice I can give you son is don't overthink it. Just relax and be yourself. If she gives any signs, or tells you that she likes you, great, if she doesn't…"

"If she doesn't?"

"...I would assume she just sees you as a friend."

Bart nods his head, a disappointed look on his face, "Thanks, dad."

Just then his phone chimed. He pulled it out of his pocket and looked at it.

Bart,

I don't know where you are, but I want you to come home, dinner is almost ready.

"Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, fine." He replied, stuffing his phone back in his pocket. "That was just mom, she was just letting me know dinner is almost ready to come home."

"Oh okay, I guess I'll see you later then…"

Homer watched as his son then began to walk away, "You know tonight is my last night of overtime…"

Bart stopped and turned to him

"You are? Really?"

"Yeah, so if you want we can discuss this later we can."

"I'd like that, thanks."

"No problem."

Father and son smiled at each other a moment before Bart walked out of his father's station and headed home.

Later that evening, Bart sat in his room and was playing video games when he heard a rapping on his window.

He turned his head and saw Laura lifting it up

"Meet me at your treehouse, Bart and come alone."

Laura then disappeared from the window, and Bart gulped feeling nervous.

A few minutes later, he entered his treehouse finding Laura already there waiting for him.

She smiled, "Thank you for coming."

"No problem." He replied, "Why did you want to meet here?"

"I wanted to meet here because I have something I want to tell you."

"What is it?"

"It's difficult to say…" She said nervously

"Laura, whatever it is you can tell me."

She turns her focus to the floor, "I have feelings for you Bart."

Laura looks back at him and sees a stunned expression on his face

"You do?"

"Yeah, I know we haven't known each other that long but ever since we met you have been so sweet to me, helping her around town, standing up to those jerks and getting her book back, walking her home from school. You're a really great guy, Bart."

Bart smiles at her "I have feelings for you too, Laura. I have ever since I met you and they have only grown stronger the more time we spent together and got to know one another…"

Laura smiles at him before leaning up and kissing him. After they separated, she looked at him once more.

"It's late, I better go before my mom comes looking for me."

"Okay, I guess I'll see you later then."

"Alright."

They shared one last kiss before Laura departed from the Treehouse. Bart watched as she walked back over to her property, feeling extremely happy that the girl of his dreams reciprocated his feelings.
